1 Kings 19:20-21
20 And he left the oxen and ran after Elijah, and said, “Please let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.”
And he said to him, “Go back again, for what have I done to you?”
21 So Elisha turned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen and slaughtered them and boiled their flesh, using the oxen’s equipment, and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he arose and followed Elijah, and became his servant.
Elisha had no idea whatsoever that his life would change forever. The day must have started off like any other day in his week. He was in the field, plowing the ground with his oxen.
Elijah was under Divine instruction to anoint Elisha as the prophet.
All Elijah did was to throw the mantle upon Elisha. the responsibility was now Elisha’s to pursue Elijah. Elijah did not offer Elisha any incentives to follow him…no preaching
opportunities, no material gifts, no silver, no gold. Elisha was now under observation by Elijah.
It is important for those who interact with the apostolic/prophetic to realize that those who the Lord leads to connect with us receive grace as they leave and cleave, as they draw near to us, grace is released into their lives.
Once Elisha discerned the grace upon Elijah’s life, he quickly dealt with his domestic business and became Elijah’s servant. Even Elijah may not have fully understood the magnetic attraction of grace because he asked Elisha “What did I do to you”. The truth is that Elijah really had no clue. Grace is able to draw to us those who the Lord has commissioned to help us in our assignment. To those sons who have discerned grace upon your leader, do not waste a single moment, just leave and connect and become a servant.
Wahl! It is precisely the Spirit’s voice for these days. “The power of accurate prophecy.” It’s what we have experienced.
Tremendo! É exatamente a voz do Espírito para esses dias. “O poder da profecia precisa”. É o que temos experimentado.
O Senhor te abençoe meu filho!
