I want to talk about the consequences of not being positioned in the place where we have been specifically commanded by the Lord. We cannot escape His perfect will for our lives.

We see this in the commissioning of Jonah to go to the great city of Nineveh. The wickedness of the great city had come up before the eyes of the Lord.

The emphasis of the message given to Jonah was a cry for the inhabitants of this great city to turn their hearts to God. This was not Jonah’s message. The message was already pre determined by the Lord.

The message was not to conform with or assimilate the culture of the city of Nineveh. The assignment of Jonah was to deliver God’s message.

This is an assignment not many people would embrace, including Jonah. Jonah knew clearly that he was only the messenger. How often have we, especially leaders, been reluctant to deliver a message that is extremely hostile and provocative to the prevailing culture in a city?

Jonah knew that as soon as the people received the message and repented, God would be gracious to them; but Jonah would always be remembered as God’s battle axe.

In our understanding in this present day, Jonah is not a singular person. He is representative of a company of individuals and leaders who are going in the wrong direction.

The reason that God would choose a Jonah company, is because He knew that this company will not be intimidated or seduced by an idolatrous or worldly culture.

It is very difficult for people to understand the ministry of a Jonah company or a prophetic company. God would bring their voices to the fore in times of apostasy, unfaithfulness and idolatry. They represent heaven’s early warning systems concerning impending danger or judgement; oracles of God that reveal His heart and His mind.

Their messages are not structured for an “itching ear” community; their messages are confrontational, because their loyalty to their assignment demands a singular focus. It is clearly evident that Jonah was God’s chosen vessel. We also see the Christ manifested in his life; when he offered to die to save the lives and property of the unbelievers on the vessel; when he spent three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, after which he experienced the resurrection when he was safely deposited on dry land.

This morning I would like to highlight in this exhortation the tenacity and the tempestuous fury that the Lord demonstrates to recover His chosen son.

The scriptures record that after receiving a direct instruction from the Lord that Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.

We must agree, as a corporate company, that the earth is not big enough for us to flee from the Presence of the Lord

“The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth”

Where can we flee from His Presence?

The vessel that left Tarshish, appears to have cargo and the sailors on board. It would appear to be a legitimate expedition. However, God’s singular focus is to recover His Son. Anyone and anything that stands in His way is in great trouble.

Jonah 1

4 But the Lord sent out a great wind on the sea, and there was a mighty tempest on the sea, so that the ship was about to be broken up.

5 Then the mariners were afraid; and every man cried out to his god, and threw the cargo that was in the ship into the sea, to lighten the load. But Jonah had gone down into the lowest parts of the ship, had lain down, and was fast asleep.

God was prepared to wreck this vessel to recover His son. The Lord sent out a tempest to pursue the ship.

Psalms 83:15-18

15 So pursue them with Your tempest,

And frighten them with Your storm.

16 Fill their faces with shame,

That they may seek Your name, O LORD.

17 Let them be confounded and dismayed forever; Yes, let them be put to shame and perish,

18 That they may know that You, whose name alone is the LORD, Are the Most High over all the earth.

Such was the great fear, that every man cried out to his god; This is a picture of a multi faith intercessory meeting; nothing would deter God.

The men took a decision to lose their precious cargo.

The hour has come for Jonah to identify himself.

Jonah 1:9-11

9 So he said to them, “I am a Hebrew; and I fear the LORD, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land.”

10 Then the men were exceedingly afraid, and said to him, “Why have you done this?” For the men knew that he fled from the presence of the LORD, because he had told them.

11 Then they said to him, “What shall we do to you that the sea may be calm for us?”—for the sea was growing more tempestuous.

In tempestuous times, when our lives are on the line, we have to identify ourselves. We must declare that this is the day of judgement where the hand of God is against the prevailing culture of rebellion, apostasy and idolatry that has come before the Lord.

God expects a Jonah company to prophesy to the Ninevites; to warn them of impending danger.

This company must not abort their Divine mandate and go in the wrong direction.

We cannot choose to live anonymously in Tarshish.

Jonah did this; now he finds himself fighting against the God of this tempest who is threatening to destroy and liquidate the entire boat; God is violently shaking this boat and it’s occupants; just because He wants to rescue this “Jonah company”

Jonah 1:12

12 And he said to them, “Pick me up and throw me into the sea; then the sea will become calm for you. For I know that this great tempest is because of me.”

Jonah saw the face and might of God in the tempest. He knew that his presence on this vessel is the cause of this mighty tempest.

God had called this Jonah company to go east to Nineveh; but they chose to go west to Tarshish

Jonah knew that there would be a high human and material cost for the expedition if he chose to continue to travel in the wrong direction

GOD “HAD” PREPARED A GREAT FISH TO SWALLOW JONAH

Jonah 1:17

17 Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

Rescuing Jonah was not an afterthought. God had prepared a great fish; before God sent the great tempest, the great fish was already there.

Jonah only saw the fish when it appeared;but, in reality, it was always there.

AFTER HIS RESCUE – THE PRAYER OF JONAH WAS TRANSFORMED

This pandemic is a type of tempest that threatens to destroy the lives and the economies of the nations; we must rest in the knowledge that the God that sent this great tempest is the same God that has already prepared our means of deliverance.

When that day comes, everything will change.

Our prayer will reflect a regenerated spirit of thanksgiving to the Lord.

Jonah 2:4-6

4 Then I said, ‘I have been cast out of Your sight;

Yet I will look again toward Your holy temple.’

5 The waters surrounded me, even to my soul;

The deep closed around me;

Weeds were wrapped around my head.

6 I went down to the moorings of the mountains;

The earth with its bars closed behind me forever;

Yet You have brought up my life from the pit,

O LORD, my God.

Amen.

O SENHOR PERSEGUE UMA COMPANHIA DE JONAS

Quero falar sobre as consequências de não estarmos posicionados no local onde fomos especificamente ordenados pelo Senhor. Não podemos escapar de Sua vontade perfeita para nossas vidas.

 

Vemos isso no comissionamento de Jonas para ir à grande cidade de Nínive. A maldade da grande cidade havia surgido diante dos olhos do Senhor.

 

A ênfase da mensagem dada a Jonas foi um grito para que os habitantes desta grande cidade voltassem seus corações para Deus. Esta não foi a mensagem de Jonas. A mensagem já foi pré-determinada pelo Senhor.

 

A mensagem não era para se conformar ou assimilar a cultura da cidade de Nínive. A tarefa de Jonas era entregar a mensagem de Deus.

 

Essa é uma tarefa que muitas pessoas não aceitariam, incluindo Jonas. Jonas sabia claramente que ele era apenas o mensageiro. Quantas vezes nós, especialmente líderes, relutamos em entregar uma mensagem extremamente hostil e provocadora à cultura predominante em uma cidade?

 

Jonas sabia que assim que as pessoas recebessem a mensagem e se arrependessem, Deus seria misericordioso com elas; mas Jonas sempre seria lembrado como o machado de batalha de Deus.

 

Em nossa compreensão nos dias atuais, Jonas não é uma pessoa singular. Ele é representante de uma companhia de indivíduos e líderes que estão indo na direção errada.

 

A razão pela qual Deus escolheria uma companhia de Jonas, é porque sabia que essa companhia não seria intimidada ou seduzida por uma cultura idólatra ou mundana.

 

É muito difícil para as pessoas entenderem o ministério de uma companhia Jonas ou de uma companhia profética. Deus traria suas vozes à tona em tempos de apostasia, infidelidade e idolatria. Eles representam os sistemas de alerta precoce do céu sobre perigo ou julgamento iminentes; oráculos de Deus que revelam Seu coração e Sua mente.

 

Suas mensagens não são estruturadas para uma comunidade de “coceira no ouvido”; suas mensagens são de confronto, porque sua lealdade à sua tarefa exige um foco singular. É claramente evidente que Jonas foi o vaso escolhido por Deus. Também vemos o Cristo manifestado em sua vida; quando ele se ofereceu para morrer para salvar as vidas e propriedades dos incrédulos no navio; quando passou três dias e três noites no ventre do grande peixe, após o que experimentou a ressurreição quando foi depositado em segurança em terra firme.

 

Nesta manhã, gostaria de destacar nesta exortação a tenacidade e a fúria tempestuosa que o Senhor demonstra para recuperar Seu filho escolhido.

 

As escrituras registram que, depois de receber uma instrução direta do Senhor, Jonas se levantou para fugir para Társis da presença do Senhor.

 

Como companhia corporativa, devemos concordar que a Terra não é grande o suficiente para fugirmos da Presença do Senhor.

 

“Os olhos do Senhor correm de um lado para o outro por toda a terra”

 

Para onde podemos fugir de Sua Presença?

 

A embarcação que saiu de Társis parece ter carga e os marinheiros a bordo. Parece ser uma expedição legítima. No entanto, o foco singular de Deus é recuperar Seu Filho. Qualquer pessoa e qualquer coisa que esteja no Seu caminho está com grandes problemas.

 

Jonas 1:4-5

4 O Senhor, porém, fez soprar um forte vento sobre o mar, e caiu uma tempestade tão violenta que o barco ameaçava arrebentar-se.

5 Todos os marinheiros ficaram com medo e cada um clamava ao seu próprio deus. E atiraram as cargas ao mar para tornar mais leve o navio. Enquanto isso, Jonas, que tinha descido para o porão e se deitado, dormia profundamente.

 

Deus estava preparado para destruir este navio para recuperar Seu filho. O Senhor enviou uma tempestade para perseguir o navio.

 

Salmos 83:15-18

15 persegue-os com o teu vendaval e aterroriza-os com a tua tempestade.

16 Cobre-lhes de vergonha o rosto até que busquem o teu nome, Senhor.

17 Sejam eles humilhados e aterrorizados para sempre; pereçam em completa desgraça.

18 Saibam eles que tu, cujo nome é Senhor, somente tu, és o Altíssimo sobre toda a terra.

 

Tal era o grande medo, que todo homem clamava a seu deus; Esta é uma imagem de uma reunião intercessora “multi-fé”; nada impediria Deus.

 

Os homens decidiram perder sua preciosa carga.

 

Chegou a hora de Jonas se identificar.

 

Jonas 1:9-11

9 Ele respondeu: “Eu sou hebreu, adorador do Senhor, o Deus dos céus, que fez o mar e a terra”.

10 Com isso eles ficaram apavorados e perguntaram: “O que foi que você fez? “, pois sabiam que Jonas estava fugindo do Senhor, porque ele já lhes tinha dito.

11 Visto que o mar estava cada vez mais agitado, eles lhe perguntaram: “O que devemos fazer com você, para que o mar se acalme? ”

 

Em tempos tempestuosos, quando nossas vidas estão em risco, temos que nos identificar. Devemos declarar que este é o dia do julgamento em que a mão de Deus está contra a cultura predominante de rebelião, apostasia e idolatria que veio antes do Senhor.

 

Deus espera que uma companhia de Jonas profetize aos ninivitas; para avisá-los do perigo iminente.

 

Esta companhia não deve abortar seu mandato divino e seguir na direção errada.

 

Não podemos escolher viver anonimamente em Társis.

 

Jonas fez isso; agora ele se vê lutando contra o Deus desta tempestade que ameaça destruir e liquidar o barco inteiro; Deus está tremendo violentamente este barco e seus ocupantes; só porque ele quer resgatar essa “companhia de Jonas”

 

Jonas 1:12

12 Respondeu ele: “Peguem-me e joguem-me ao mar, e ele se acalmará. Pois eu sei que é por minha causa que esta violenta tempestade caiu sobre vocês”.

 

Jonas viu o rosto e o poder de Deus na tempestade. Ele sabia que sua presença neste navio é a causa desta poderosa tempestade.

 

Deus havia chamado essa companhia de Jonas para ir para o leste de Nínive; mas eles escolheram ir para o oeste, para Társis.

 

Jonas sabia que haveria um alto custo humano e material para a expedição se ele escolhesse continuar viajando na direção errada.

 

DEUS “PRECIOU” DE UM GRANDE PEIXE PARA ENGOLIR JONAS

 

Jonas 1:17

17 Então o Senhor fez com que um grande peixe engolisse Jonas, e ele ficou dentro do peixe três dias e três noites.

 

Resgatar Jonas não foi uma reflexão tardia. Deus havia preparado um ótimo peixe; antes que Deus mandasse a grande tempestade, o grande peixe já estava lá.

 

Jonas só viu o peixe quando apareceu, mas, na realidade, estava sempre lá.

 

DEPOIS DE SEU SALVAMENTO – A ORAÇÃO DE JONAS FOI TRANSFORMADA

 

Essa pandemia é um tipo de tempestade que ameaça destruir as vidas e as economias das nações; devemos descansar no conhecimento de que o Deus que enviou essa grande tempestade é o mesmo Deus que já preparou nossos meios de libertação.

 

Quando esse dia chegar, tudo mudará.

 

Nossa oração refletirá um espírito regenerado de ação de graças ao Senhor.

 

Jonas 2:4-6

4 Eu disse: Fui expulso da tua presença; contudo, olharei de novo para o teu santo templo.

5 As águas agitadas me envolveram, o abismo me cercou, as algas marinhas se enrolaram em minha cabeça.

6  Afundei até os fundamentos dos montes; à terra cujas trancas estavam me aprisionando para sempre. Mas tu trouxeste a minha vida de volta da cova, ó Senhor meu Deus!

The Holy Spirit continues to reveal His will to us through this pandemic

Our sensitivity to the voice of the Spirit has been greatly enhanced during this time of lockdown

One of the most referred to declarations in the Bible is the one between Ruth and Naomi. It has become immortalized through the scriptures and it will be referred to for thousands of years to come.

It was in Moab, where the scriptures introduce us to Ruth. Moab represents a culture that is steeped in idolatry, worshipping Chemosh, the fish god. Embedded in this culture was Ruth.

Her name means friend or companion

My central point in this exhortation is to reveal the way the Lord always expected us to build;

We need to read Ruth’s Declaration of Intent.

This model is often used for teaching spiritual sonship

Ruth 1:16-17

16 But Ruth said:

“Entreat me not to leave you, Or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people, And your God, my God.

17 Where you die, I will die, And there will I be buried. The LORD do so to me, and more also, If anything but death parts you and me.”

Naomi tried her best to dissuade her two daughters in law to remain in Moab. The only reason Naomi is returning is that she heard that the Lord had visited His people and the economy was improving.

She said nothing after Ruth made this declaration of intent. She relented because she saw that Ruth was determined to go with her.

But Naomi did not reciprocate in words her response to this profound declaration.

There is a method to building that Jesus also introduced us to, that is contrary to modern day methods of church growth.

We understand that Naomi is a picture or representation of a church.

In her particular situation it is a church that has lost its father and its sons. It is a picture of desolation. It is a church that has experienced great tribulation. It finds itself in Moab, a country that is steeped in the worship of false gods. This swamp Moab had destroyed everything that she had ever had. All that she has is a Gentile woman from this culture by the name of Ruth…… this young woman would prove to be better than seven sons. The church of Naomi begins with the potential strength of seven strong sons.

It is no wonder that Naomi would say nothing to Ruth. Naomi must have heard all these beautiful promises in Moab over the years that come to nothing. She implements a new model of leadership. She would observe and evaluate Ruth according to her own declarations

This is leadership through scrutiny and evaluation.

I believe that this is something many of us have learned during this pandemic. We are able to focus on fellowship, prayers and breaking of bread with our families.

This is to build from what we have.

We must build with those that stand with you, the faithful remnant, the little flock

God is teaching us this principle through this pandemic.

Build strength in your own house whilst you are locked down.

Jesus used the same method to build.

Jesus made it very difficult for the 5000 to follow him.

He placed a demand upon them. He asked them to perform a piece of doctrine; they were unable to make a declaration of intent.

Jesus did not have the time to keep 5000 people entertained by performing signs and wonders every week like a magician ; there are weightier issues to deal with in the Kingdom than eating fish and bread or having barbecues every week.

We have to ensure that sons of God are fully invested in the Word of God. His Word that builds His nature in us so that it could be revealed as Light to a groaning, expectant creation.

The multitude is not zealous for life in the integrity of a Zion culture.

Jerusalém will be known as the City of truth.

There is a NEXT LEVEL which demands absolute covenanting

The translation of the words of Jesus “eat my body and drink my blood is …..

“Love me with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’”

This is total and absolute devotion. There is no room here for any other gods or idols.

Building on the Rock Christ Jesus is building on His Word, His Doctrine, making demands on the congregation to perform the doctrine, to value, honor and prioritize the Word of God.

Although Naomi was speechless, I believe that throughout her journey back to Judah, Naomi was preoccupied with this thought “How can I bless this young woman? “

Naomi would have thought about Boaz long before they even got back to Bethlehem.

Who told Boaz?

Does it matter? Just remember this…..

God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name

Ruth 2:11-12

11 And Boaz answered and said to her, “It has been fully reported to me, all that you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband, and how you have left your father and your mother and the land of your birth, and have come to a people whom you did not know before. 12 The LORD repay your work, and a full reward be given you by the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge.”

There is a clear principle of representation in the words of Boaz (representation of Christ).

Boaz would be a blessing to Ruth; yet he would say that the Lord would repay Ruth

Boaz would provide a roof and a covering over Ruth; yet he would say that she is under the wings of the Lord God of Israel.

All this was possible, because Naomi, the one who said nothing to Ruth’s declaration of intent, quietly strategized Ruth’s victory and ultimate redemption in her marriage to Boaz (Christ). This, I believe is the primary assignment of all church leaders; it is to train, equip and facilitate the journey of those under our oversight to be ultimately positioned in Christ, our Tabernacle.

MELHOR DO QUE SETE FILHOS

O Espírito Santo continua a revelar Sua vontade para nós através desta pandemia

 

Nossa sensibilidade à voz do Espírito foi grandemente aumentada durante este período de bloqueio

 

Uma das declarações mais citadas na Bíblia é entre Rute e Noemi. Tornou-se imortalizado pelas escrituras e será mencionado por milhares de anos vindouros.

 

Foi em Moabe, onde as escrituras nos apresentam Rute. Moabe representa uma cultura rica em idolatria, adorando Chemosh, o deus dos peixes. Incorporada a essa cultura estava Rute.

 

O nome dela significa amigo ou companheiro

 

Meu ponto central nesta exortação é revelar a maneira como o Senhor sempre esperou que construíssemos;

 

Precisamos ler a Declaração de Intenção de Rute.

 

Este modelo é frequentemente usado para ensinar filiação espiritual

 

Rute 1: 16-17

 

16 Rute, porém, respondeu:

 

“Não insistas comigo que te deixe e não mais a acompanhe. Aonde fores irei, onde ficares ficarei! O teu povo será o meu povo e o teu Deus será o meu Deus!

 

17 Onde morreres morrerei, e ali serei sepultada. Que o Senhor me castigue com todo o rigor, se outra coisa que não a morte me separar de ti! ”

 

Ela não disse nada depois que Rute fez essa declaração de intenção. Ela cedeu porque viu que Rute estava determinada a ir com ela.

 

Mas Noemi não retribuiu em palavras sua resposta a essa declaração profunda.

 

Existe um método para a construção que Jesus também nos apresentou, que é contrário aos métodos modernos de crescimento da igreja.

 

Entendemos que Noemi é uma figura ou representação de uma igreja.

 

Em sua situação particular, é uma igreja que perdeu seu pai e seus filhos. É uma imagem de desolação. É uma igreja que experimentou grande tribulação. Encontra-se em Moabe, um país mergulhado na adoração de deuses falsos. Esse pântano que Moabe havia destruído tudo que ela já tivera. Tudo o que ela tem é uma mulher gentia dessa cultura chamada Rute…… essa jovem viria a ser melhor do que sete filhos. A igreja de Noemi começa com a força potencial de sete filhos fortes.

 

Não é à toa que Noemi não disse nada a Rute. Noemi deve ter ouvido todas essas belas promessas em Moabe ao longo dos anos que não deram em nada. Ela implementa um novo modelo de liderança. Ela observava e avaliava Rute de acordo com suas próprias declarações

 

Isso é liderança através de uma pesquisa minuciosa e avaliação.

Acredito que isso é algo que muitos de nós aprendemos durante essa pandemia. Somos capazes de nos concentrar em ter comunhão, orações e partir o pão com nossa família.

 

Isso é construir a partir do que temos.

 

Devemos construir com aqueles que estão com você, o remanescente fiel, o pequeno rebanho

 

Deus está nos ensinando esse princípio por meio dessa pandemia.

 

Crie força em sua própria casa enquanto estiver trancado.

 

Jesus usou o mesmo método para construir.

 

Jesus tornou muito difícil para os 5000 segui-lo.

 

Ele fez uma exigência sobre eles. Ele pediu que eles realizassem um pedaço de doutrina; eles foram incapazes de fazer uma declaração de intenções.

 

Jesus não teve tempo para manter 5000 pessoas entretidas realizando sinais e maravilhas toda semana como um mágico; há questões mais importantes para tratar no Reino do que comer peixe e pão ou fazer churrascos toda semana.

 

Temos que garantir que os filhos de Deus sejam totalmente investidos na Palavra de Deus. Sua Palavra que constrói Sua natureza em nós para que possa ser revelada como Luz a uma criação que geme e espera.

 

A multidão não é zelosa pela vida na integridade de uma cultura de Sião.

 

Jerusalém será conhecida como a Cidade da verdade.

 

Existe um PRÓXIMO NÍVEL que exige convênios absolutos

 

A tradução das palavras de Jesus “coma meu corpo e beba meu sangue é… ..

 

“Ame-me com todo o seu coração, com toda a sua alma e com toda a sua mente.”

 

Isso é devoção total e absoluta. Não há espaço aqui para outros deuses ou ídolos.

 

Construindo sobre a rocha Cristo Jesus está construindo sobre Sua Palavra, Sua Doutrina, exigindo que a congregação cumpra a doutrina, valorize, honre e priorize a Palavra de Deus.

 

Embora Noemi tenha ficado sem palavras, acredito que, durante sua jornada de volta a Judá, Noemi estava preocupada com esse pensamento: “Como posso abençoar essa jovem? ”

 

Noemi pensaria em Boaz muito antes de eles voltarem a Belém.

 

Quem disse a Boaz?

 

Isso importa? Apenas lembre-se disso …

 

Deus não é injusto para esquecer o seu trabalho e trabalho de amor que você demonstrou em Seu nome

Rute 2: 11-12

 

11 Boaz respondeu: “Contaram-me tudo o que você tem feito por sua sogra, depois que você perdeu o marido: como deixou seu pai, sua mãe e sua terra natal para viver com um povo que pouco conhecia. 12 O Senhor lhe retribua o que você tem feito! Que você seja ricamente recompensada pelo Senhor, o Deus de Israel, sob cujas asas você veio buscar refúgio! ”

 

Existe um princípio claro de representação nas palavras de Boaz (representação de Cristo).

 

Boaz seria uma bênção para Rute; contudo, ele diria que o Senhor retribuiria Rute

 

Boaz forneceria um teto e uma cobertura sobre Rute; contudo, ele diria que ela está sob as asas do Senhor Deus de Israel.

 

Tudo isso foi possível, porque Noemi a pessoa que não disse nada à declaração de intenções de Rute, planejou silenciosamente a vitória e a redenção final de Rute em seu casamento com Boaz (Cristo). Creio que esta é a designação principal de todos os líderes da igreja; é treinar, equipar e facilitar a jornada daqueles que estão sob nossa supervisão, para finalmente serem posicionados em Cristo, nosso Tabernáculo.

This plague will test our faithfulness

Not only are lives being lost, many are falling away in their zeal for the Lord.

The God who was with us before this plague is the same God who is with us now; He is observing our faithfulness.

He will remain faithful even after the plague

He cannot be anything else, because He is called Faithful and True

He is Faithful and True to those who love Him and keep His commandments

This morning I would like to talk to you about the application of spiritual gifts. With every gift comes a weight of responsibility.

Yes, our gift will make room for us; it will prosper us; it will bring us into favor yet, there is a weight of responsibility attached to it.

We will talk about these responsibilities both in our interaction with believers and with those who are unsaved.

We marvel at the grace of Paul, when he engaged unsaved people.

In spite of Paul’s vast educational and religious background he was able to easily relate to the people that he engaged.

This is something that we are beginning to learn; it is my personal goal. I believe that this is one of the greatest challenges to the advancement of the message of the gospel.

Very often we tend to be like the disciples of Jesus who were astonished to find Jesus speaking to the Samaritan woman. Jesus never betrayed the integrity of his message while answering the woman’s questions.

However, this morning I would like us to study Paul’s writings in his letter to the believers in Corinth :

1 Corinthians 9:19-23

19 For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more; 20 and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law; 21 to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law; 22 to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. 23 Now this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.

Our status or reputation in the Kingdom should not be an impediment in our quest to take this message into unchartered territory.

Paul was able to do this, without compromising the integrity of his faith.

Paul was able to win in unchartered territory.

He had a very simple goal – to win, to bring in other sheep that are not of the fold

Paul engaged different groups of people. He declares :

To the Jews I became as a Jew

To those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law;

(If you saw Paul with the Jews you may have thought he was a Jew). He may not have ordered bacon with his eggs for breakfast. He realized, although he was a free man, set free by Jesus Christ, that this would cause offense, and it would become an impediment to his mission to save.

He became as one with the Jews, because His passion to bring men to Christ was greater than manifesting a legalistic position.

He would deliberately avoid strife and contention in the presentation of the gospel to unbelievers – we are talking about UNCHARTERED TERRITORY

He avoided all offense, even having Timothy circumcised because Timothy’s father was a Greek, he did not want anything to impede the deliverance of his message. Bringing people to the Lord was his main objective and passion.

This was the same apostle who wrote to the Colossians :

Colossians 2:16

16 So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths,

17 which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.

Paul desired growth in the Kingdom. This is important for us, because much of our growth comes from the horizontal movement of disgruntled believers.

1 Corinthians 9

22 to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

Paul held nothing back – he put everything on the line so that he could lead a few to the Lord. He presented himself as a weak apostle, to win those whose were weak …..

If there was anyone who could boast, it was Paul.

Paul, who was known as Saul was eminently qualified – Hebrew ancestry, tribe of Benjamin – son of Pharisees, who were fervent Jewish nationalists who strictly adhered to the Law of Moses. He guarded the laws against contamination from the Gentiles

At the age 13 Saul was sent to study under Gamaleil, where he mastered Jewish history, Psalms and the prophets, continued studying the scriptures, became a lawyer and was positioned for a seat on the Sanhedrin. He was considered to be a religious extremist

With this battery of qualifications, he chose to relate to the weak, to become as one of them.

We should not allow our gifts to hinder us from relating to those who are weak.

How does this apply to believers?

With every gift comes great responsibility.

As far as the five fold ministry is concerned, let us examine for a moment the purpose of the gift.

Ephesians 4:12-13

12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;

This would be the purpose of the gift.

Equipping, Perfecting, edifying, the process of building

All these words denote construction and the process of the development of the believer.

Gifts must contribute to the construction of Christ in us.

We should not use our gift to discredit those who are legitimate overseers of households and families

We should project our gift to defraud and dismantle legitimate wine skins.

Let us learn from Daniel.

Daniel did not exalt his gift to destroy the wise men of Babylon. Daniel did not flaunt his gift to demonstrate his superiority to discredit the depth of revelation of the wise men of Babylon.

He referred the king of Babylon to the God in heaven.

Daniel 2:27-28

27 Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, “The secret which the king has demanded, the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, and the soothsayers cannot declare to the king. 28 But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days. Your dream, and the visions of your head upon your bed, were these:

The same thing with Joseph. He was asked to interpret the dream of Pharaoh. Joseph declared “It is not in me”, God will give Pharaoh the answer.

Genesis 41:16

16 So Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, “It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh an answer of peace.”

Restrain people from worshipping the gift. The gift cannot outrank the father of a household. If we pursue this belief, we will be guilty of leading people into idolatry.

PAUL AND BARNABAS WILL HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IDOLATRY

Barnabas may be a son of encouragement, but he will not endorse or encourage idolatry or their personal deification by the sensuous people of Lystra.

When the people deified these two apostles, they ran into the multitude and tore their clothes. This is an expression of grief and anger in the face of death

LISTEN TO THE APOSTOLIC RESPONSE

Acts 14:14-15

14 But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard this, they tore their clothes and ran in among the multitude, crying out 15 and saying, “Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you, and preach to you that you should turn from these useless things to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them

Paul is passionately imploring the people . He declares that the gods of Lystra are useless and worthless. Before we build and plant, we have to dismantle and clear the field of our heart of every idolatrous altar.

The culture of worship of the Greek-Roman world was steeped in idolatry. Paul called them useless or worthless things. He stood before them and declared their gods to be useless.

Here are some of the deities :

Tychos, the god of luck

Asclepius, the god of healing

Artemis, the goddess of childbirth

Hermes -Greek God of Trade, thieves, travelers, sports, athletes, border crossings, Eloquence and Messenger of the Gods

Zeús – Greek God of sky and thunder

Why worship at the feet of the god Asclepius, the god of healing, when this God cannot help the man who is lame. This molded, brazen image has no power to deliver.

Paul implored the people to from these useless things and come to Christ, the Living God.

PAUL USED HIS GIFT FOR THE PURPOSE OF SALVATION

Paul warns that failure to use our gifts to build Christ will see a counter culture that would emerge –

We will be like children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting. Until we use our gifts for the construction of a “Christ culture” we will forever be vulnerable to cunning craftiness and deceitful plotting.

OS DONS ESPIRITUAIS VEM COM RESPONSABILIDADE

Hoje de manhã, gostaria de falar sobre a aplicação dos dons espirituais. Com todo dom vem um peso de responsabilidade.

 

Sim, nosso dom abrirá espaço para nós; nos prosperará; ainda nos trará favor; há um peso de responsabilidade associado a ele.

 

Falaremos sobre essas responsabilidades, tanto em nossa interação com os crentes quanto com aqueles que não são salvos.

 

Maravilhamo-nos com a graça de Paulo, quando ele envolveu pessoas não-salvas.

 

Apesar da vasta formação educacional e religiosa de Paulo, ele conseguiu se relacionar facilmente com as pessoas que ele envolveu.

 

Isso é algo que estamos começando a aprender; é meu objetivo pessoal. Creio que este é um dos maiores desafios para o avanço da mensagem do evangelho.

 

Muitas vezes, tendemos a ser como os discípulos de Jesus que ficaram surpresos ao encontrar Jesus falando com a mulher samaritana. Jesus nunca traiu a integridade de sua mensagem enquanto respondia às perguntas da mulher.

 

No entanto, nesta manhã, gostaria que estudássemos os escritos de Paulo em sua carta aos crentes em Corinto:

Nosso status ou reputação no Reino não deve ser um impedimento em nossa busca para levar esta mensagem a um território desconhecido.

Paulo foi capaz de fazer isso, sem comprometer a integridade de sua fé.

 

Paulo conseguiu vencer em território desconhecido.

 

Ele tinha um objetivo muito simples: para vencer, trazer outras ovelhas que não são do aprisco.

Paulo envolveu diferentes grupos de pessoas. Ele declara:

 

Para os judeus eu me tornei judeu.

 

Para aqueles que estão sob a lei, como sob a lei, que eu possa ganhar aqueles que estão sob a lei;

Paulo não escondeu nada – colocou tudo em risco para que ele pudesse levar alguns ao Senhor. Ele se apresentou como um apóstolo fraco, para vencer aqueles que eram fracos …

 

Se havia alguém que poderia se gabar, era Paulo.

 

Paulo, que era conhecido como Saul, era eminentemente qualificado – ascendência hebraica, tribo de Benjamim – filho de fariseus, que eram nacionalistas judeus fervorosos que aderiam estritamente à lei de Moisés. Ele guardou as leis contra a contaminação dos gentios.

 

Aos 13 anos, Saulo foi enviado para estudar sob a instrução Gamaliel, onde dominou a história judaica, os Salmos e os profetas, continuaram estudando as escrituras, tornou-se advogado e foi posicionado para um assento no Sinédrio. Ele era considerado um extremista religioso

 

Com essa bateria de qualificações, ele escolheu se relacionar com os fracos, tornar-se um deles.

 

Não devemos permitir que nossos dons nos impeçam de nos relacionarmos com aqueles que são fracos.

 

Como isso se aplica aos crentes?

 

Com todo dom vem uma grande responsabilidade.

 

No que diz respeito ao ministério quíntuplo, vamos examinar por um momento o propósito do presente.

 

Efésios 4:12 para o aperfeiçoamento dos santos, para a obra do ministério, para a edificação do corpo de Cristo, 13 até que todos cheguemos à unidade da fé e ao conhecimento do Filho de Deus, a homem perfeito, à medida da estatura da plenitude de Cristo;

 

Este seria o objetivo no presente.

Equipar, aperfeiçoar, edificar, o processo de construção.

 Todas essas palavras denotam construção e o processo de desenvolvimento do crente.

 

Os presentes devem contribuir para a construção de Cristo em nós.

 Não devemos usar nosso dom para desacreditar aqueles que são superintendentes legítimos de lares e famílias.

 

Deveríamos projetar nosso presente para fraudar e desmontar os odres legítimos.

 

Vamos aprender com Daniel.

 

Daniel não exaltou seu dom para destruir os sábios da Babilônia. Daniel não ostentou seu dom para demonstrar sua superioridade para desacreditar a profundidade da revelação dos sábios da Babilônia.

 

Ele se referiu ao rei da Babilônia para Deus no céu.

 

Daniel 2: 27 Daniel respondeu na presença do rei, e disse: O segredo que o rei exigiu não podem os homens sábios, os astrólogos, os magos e os adivinhos mostrar ao rei; 28porém há um Deus no céu que revela segredos, e dá a conhecer ao rei Nabucodonosor o que acontecerá nos últimos dias. O teu sonho e as visões de tua cabeça sobre tua cama são estes:

 

O mesmo com José. Ele foi convidado a interpretar o sonho do faraó. José declarou: “Não está em mim”, Deus dará a resposta ao Faraó.

Gênesis 41:16 E José respondeu a Faraó, dizendo: Não está em mim; Deus dará a Faraó uma resposta de paz.

 

Impeça as pessoas de adorarem o presente. O presente não pode superar o pai de uma família. Se seguirmos essa crença, seremos culpados de levar as pessoas à idolatria.

 

PAULO E BARNABÉ NÃO TERÃO RELAÇÃO COM A IDOLATRIA

 

Barnabé pode ser um filho de encorajamento, mas ele não endossará ou incentivará a idolatria ou sua deificação pessoal pelas pessoas sensuais de Listra.

 

Quando o povo comparou a deuses esses dois apóstolos, eles se depararam com a multidão e rasgaram suas roupas. Esta é uma expressão de pesar e raiva diante da morte.

 

OUVIR A RESPOSTA APOSTÓLICA

 

Atos 14:14 Mas quando os apóstolos Barnabé e Paulo ouviram-no, eles rasgaram as suas vestes e correram para o meio da multidão, gritando,15 e dizendo: Senhores, por que fazeis essas coisas? Paulo implora apaixonadamente o povo. Ele declara que os deuses de Listra são inúteis e indígnos. Antes de construir e plantar, temos que desmontar e limpar o campo do nosso coração de todo altar idólatra.

 

A cultura de adoração do mundo greco-romano estava mergulhada na idolatria. Paulo os chamou de coisas inúteis ou sem valor. Ele ficou diante deles e declarou que seus deuses eram inúteis.

 

Aqui estão algumas das divindades:

Paulo implorou ao povo que, por essas coisas inúteis, viesse a Cristo, o Deus vivo.

 

PAULO USADO SEU PRESENTE PARA FINS DE SALVAÇÃO

 

Paulo adverte que o fracasso em usar nossos dons para construir Cristo verá uma contracultura que surgiria:

 

Seremos como crianças, jogadas de um lado para o outro e carregadas com todo vento de doutrina, pelas artimanhas dos homens, na astúcia de conspirações enganosas. Até que usemos nossos dons para a construção de uma “cultura de Cristo”, estaremos para sempre vulneráveis à astúcia e conspirações enganosas.

I would like to show you how God would prepare His chosen vessels for the highest offices in leadership. This is not meant to be a leadership model for the church. The Bible is not a playbook or a dramatic script for the Church.

My impartation this morning is a honest attempt to get a glimpse into the ways of God concerning preparing His servants for specific, difficult and challenging assignments.

We would find a great disparity between His ways and our ways that we generally implement.

There is a human tendency and inclination to follow a pre-planned, pre-determined route to a preferred destiny or destination.

Many of us have planned and structured our lives to such great detail that we have locked God completely out of our plans. We give God no opportunity to weave His supernatural designs and His Divine strategies in giving direction in our journey towards the place of His perfect will for our lives.

We may think that we are trailblazers and successful; but the question is this …..

Are we functioning in the perfect will of God?

God must be allowed to be the GPS in our journey towards our destiny. God knows the end of the thing.

In my own personal experience, I have found this to be very difficult to achieve; it is much easier than said than done. Like most individuals we like to get every detail and plan in place and in perfect order as we strive for the highest standards of excellence in all things.

However, if we examine Joseph’s training and development, in the eyes of the natural man he appeared to be failing at every step in his journey; he appeared to be making poor decisions. While our natural eyes would behold Joseph in a state of weakness, God in fact was in perfect control of the his life and the attendant challenges.

Proverbs 16:9

9 A man’s heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.

The caravan of Ishmaelites is God’s chosen vehicle that would rescue Joseph and position him on the path towards his destiny in Egypt.

As a patriarch of Israel, it is unthinkable that Jacob would have thought of a radical strategy like this; Jacob does not know the end game for his beloved son, but God knew exactly the office that He was preparing for Joseph. The young man needed training and development.

Jacob would have rather died than allow his son, a son that he loved dearly, to fall into slavery into the service of the Ishmaelites. It is unimaginable, from a human perspective, to align oneself to the reality that the great grandson of Abraham would serve the Ishmaelites as a slave; we recall that it was Sarah who influenced Abraham to put Hagar and Ishmael out of the house and the estate of Abraham

Yet serving the Egyptians was central to God’s plans; do not expect to rule a nation that you have not served.

God would allow the hands of the Ishmaelites, also the seed from the loins of Abraham, to rescue Joseph from a place of certain death.

Remember Jesus did not come to be served; He came to serve

Joseph was destined to be ruler in Egypt; this destiny was realised through serving the nation of Egypt

It is a challenge to rule where we have not served.

Egypt represents the world. This principle is equally applicable to those who serve in secular fields. Promotion is commensurate with service to ruling authorities. This does not mean compromising our faith in the Lord.

We must embrace the reality that the whole earth, including Egypt belongs to God

Jesus would say :

John 17:15

15 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.

Our God is sovereign. He orders the steps of the righteous.

When Joseph was a young man it was revealed to Joseph in a dream that he would have great influence and authority over his brothers and even his parents; that they would bow down to him.

Although this was a wonderful revelation to the young man, how he would get to this position of leadership and authority would be directed by God. This is clear when we see that the grace configuration in Joseph caused him to obtain the favor of God in every step of the way towards his destiny.

This is a clear sign that although we may have been alienated by our brothers, God has chosen to remain with us, because He has called us for a Higher purpose.

Critical to the young man’s training and development were a variety of trials that God would place in his path to prepare him for leadership. Joseph’s destiny was rulership and governance of Egypt. The intensity of his trials would be commensurate with the weight of the responsibilities of his office. How does one man be able to govern the varied, competing interests of millions of Egyptians?

God’s method of training for this specific assignment did not require a person to hold any academic credentials. God’s tests for Joseph were practical and seriously tested his integrity.

This assignment requires uncommon, abundant grace, wisdom and discernment that is produced in the furnace of affliction.

Pharaoh himself declared :

Genesis 41:38

38 And Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?”

To arrive at his office of rulership, he needed to overcome these challenges.

• Betrayal by his brothers – his own flesh and blood

• Physical separation from his father that he loved and whom the father loved greatly

• Separation from the coat of many colors that intimidated his brothers

• He had to deal with the psychological trauma of realising that his brothers cast him into a pit to die

• Embrace the hand of the Ishmaelites who saved him from death in the pit

• Function as a slave in the house of Potiphar

• Imprisoned because of a spurious allegation from his master’s wife,

What strengthened Joseph was knowing that God was with him. Every test brought Joseph closer to his destiny. Joseph may have thought that God was constantly changing the goalposts. He could be forgiven for not seeing the difference in progress between the pit and the prison as both were places of confinement,

This was the prophecy of Jacob concerning his son Joseph.

Genesis 49:22-26

22 “Joseph is a fruitful bough, A fruitful bough by a well; His branches run over the wall. 23 The archers have bitterly grieved him, Shot at him and hated him.

24 But his bow remained in strength, And the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the Mighty God of Jacob (From there is the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel), 25 By the God of your father who will help you, And by the Almighty who will bless you with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lies beneath, blessings of the breasts and of the womb.

26 The blessings of your father have excelled the blessings of my ancestors, up to the utmost bound of the everlasting hills. They shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him who was separate from his brothers.

The trial that was mentioned by his father was his ability to remain in strength, although archers have bitterly grieved him, shot at him and hated him. This was the commendation of Jacob concerning his son. Jacob discerned that it was the “Mighty God of Jacob” that imparted strength to Joseph; that in the physical absence of Jacob in his life, God had done a marvellous work with his beloved son.

I would like to encourage all of you who may presently be experiencing a variety of trials. God has our successful finish in mind. The end will be better than the beginning. Let us embrace the testing!

James 1

2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,

3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

Gostaria de mostrar como Deus prepararia Seus vasos escolhidos para os mais altos cargos de liderança. Isso não pretende ser um modelo de liderança para a igreja. A Bíblia não é um manual ou um roteiro dramático para a Igreja.

Minha comunicação nesta manhã é uma tentativa honesta de vislumbrar os caminhos de Deus relativos à preparação de Seus servos para designações específicas, difíceis e desafiadoras.

Encontraríamos uma grande disparidade entre os Seus caminhos e os nossos caminhos que geralmente implementamos.

Existe uma tendência e uma inclinação humanas para seguir uma rota pré planejada e pré determinada para um destino ou destino preferido.

Muitos de nós planejamos e estruturamos nossas vidas com tantos detalhes que impedimos Deus completamente de nossos planos. Não damos a Deus oportunidade de tecer Seus desígnios sobrenaturais e Suas estratégias Divinas para orientar nossa jornada em direção ao lugar de Sua perfeita vontade para nossas vidas.

Podemos pensar que somos pioneiros e bem-sucedidos; mas a questão é essa …Estamos trabalhando na perfeita vontade de Deus?

Deus deve ter permissão para ser o GPS em nossa jornada em direção ao nosso destino. Deus sabe o fim da coisa.

Na minha própria experiência pessoal, achei isso muito difícil de conseguir; é muito mais fácil do que dizer do que fazer. Como a maioria das pessoas, gostamos de colocar todos os detalhes e planos no lugar e em perfeita ordem, enquanto lutamos pelos mais altos padrões de excelência em todas as coisas.

No entanto, se examinarmos o treinamento e o desenvolvimento de José, aos olhos do homem natural, ele parecia falhar a cada passo de sua jornada; ele parecia estar tomando más decisões. Enquanto nossos olhos naturais contemplariam José em um estado de fraqueza, Deus de fato estava no controle perfeito de sua vida e dos desafios que os acompanhavam.

Provérbios 16

9 O coração do homem planeja o seu caminho, mas o Senhor direciona os seus passos.

A caravana dos ismaelitas é o veículo escolhido por Deus que resgataria José e o colocaria no caminho rumo ao seu destino no Egito.

Como patriarca de Israel, é impensável que Jacó tenha pensado em uma estratégia radical como essa; Jacó não conhece o jogo final para seu amado filho, mas Deus sabia exatamente o ofício que estava preparando para José. O jovem precisava de treinamento e desenvolvimento.

Jacó preferiria morrer a permitir que seu filho, um filho que ele amava profundamente, caísse em escravidão a serviço dos ismaelitas. É inimaginável, do ponto de vista humano, alinhar-se à realidade de que o bisneto de Abraão serviria os ismaelitas como escravo; Lembramos que foi Sara quem influenciou Abraão a tirar Hagar e Ismael da casa e da propriedade de Abraão.

No entanto, servir aos egípcios era essencial para os planos de Deus; não espere governar uma nação que você não serviu.

Deus permitiria que as mãos dos ismaelitas, também a semente dos lombos de Abraão, resgatassem José de um lugar de certa morte.

Lembre-se de que Jesus não veio para ser servido; Ele veio para servir José estava destinado a ser governante no Egito; este destino foi realizado através do serviço à nação do Egito

É um desafio governar onde não servimos.

O Egito representa o mundo. Este princípio é igualmente aplicável àqueles que servem em campos seculares. A promoção é proporcional ao serviço prestado às autoridades. Isso não significa comprometer nossa fé no Senhor.

 Devemos abraçar a realidade de que toda a terra, incluindo o Egito, pertence a Deus

Jesus diria:

João 17

15 Eu não oro para que tu os tires do mundo, mas que tu os guardes do mal.

Nosso Deus é soberano. Ele ordena os passos dos justos. Quando José era jovem, foi revelado em um sonho que ele teria grande influência e autoridade sobre seus irmãos e até mesmo seus pais; que eles se curvariam a ele.

Embora essa fosse uma revelação maravilhosa para o jovem, como ele chegaria a essa posição de liderança e autoridade seria dirigido por Deus. Isso fica claro quando vemos que a configuração da graça em José fez com que ele obtivesse o favor de Deus em cada passo do caminho em direção ao seu destino.

Este é um sinal claro de que, embora possamos ter sido alienados por nossos irmãos, Deus escolheu permanecer conosco, porque nos chamou para um propósito mais elevado.

Críticas ao treinamento e desenvolvimento do jovem foram várias provações que Deus colocaria em seu caminho para prepará-lo para a liderança. O destino de José era o governo e o governo do Egito. A intensidade de suas provações seria proporcional ao peso das responsabilidades de seu cargo. Como um homem é capaz de governar os variados interesses concorrentes de milhões de egípcios?

O método de treinamento de Deus para esta tarefa específica não exigia que uma pessoa tivesse credenciais acadêmicas. Os testes de Deus para José foram práticos e testaram seriamente sua integridade.

Essa designação requer graça incomum e abundante, sabedoria e discernimento produzidos na fornalha da aflição.

O próprio Faraó declarou:

Gênesis 41:38 E Faraó disse a seus servos: Acharemos alguém como este, um homem em quem está o Espírito de Deus?

Para chegar ao seu cargo de governante, ele precisava superar esses desafios. Traição de seus irmãos – sua própria carne e sangue

• Separação física de seu pai que ele amava e a quem ele amava muito

• Separação da túnica de muitas cores que intimidou seus irmãos

• Ele teve que lidar com o trauma psicológico de perceber que seus irmãos o lançaram em um poço para morrer

• Segurar a mão dos ismaelitas que o salvaram da morte no poço

• Trabalhar como escravo na casa de Potifar

• Preso por causa de uma alegação espúria da esposa de seu mestre

O que fortaleceu José foi saber que Deus estava com ele. Cada teste aproximava José de seu destino. José pode ter pensado que Deus estava constantemente mudando as metas. Ele poderia ser perdoado por não ver a diferença em andamento entre o poço e a prisão, pois ambos eram locais de confinamento.

Esta foi a profecia de Jacó a respeito de seu filho José.

Gênesis 49

22 José é um ramo frutífero, um ramo frutífero junto à fonte, cujos ramos correm sobre o muro. 23 Os arqueiros o amarguraram, e atiraram nele, e o odiaram, 24 mas o seu arco habitou na força, e os braços das suas mãos foram fortalecidos pelas mãos do Deus poderoso de Jacó; (de lá é o pastor, a rocha de Israel), 25 pelo Deus de teu pai, que te ajudará, e pelo Todo-poderoso, que te abençoará com bênçãos do céu acima, bênçãos da profundeza que está abaixo, bênçãos dos peitos e do útero. 26 As bênçãos de teu pai prevalecerão sobre as bênçãos dos meus progenitores, até os últimos limites das colinas eternas. Elas estarão sobre a cabeça de José, e na coroa da cabeça daquele que esteve separado de seus irmãos.

O julgamento mencionado por seu pai foi sua capacidade de permanecer efortalecido, embora os arqueiros o tenham afligido amargamente, disparado contra ele e odiado. Este foi o elogio de Jacó a respeito de seu filho. Jacó discerniu que era o “poderoso Deus de Jacó” que dava força a José; que na ausência física de Jacó em sua vida, Deus havia feito um trabalho maravilhoso com seu amado filho.
