REVERENTIAL FEAR OF GOD

We will study both the Hebrew and Greek words for “fear”

HEBREW WORD FOR FEAR

ēymāh: A feminine noun meaning fear, terror, dread, or horror. The basic meaning is that of fear. It is used to signify the dread of the darkness that fell on Abraham (Genesis 15:12); a fear of hostile opponents (Joshua 2:9; Ezra 3:3); the terror of the Lord’s judgment (Exodus 15:16; 23:27; Job 9:34); dread of the wrath of an earthly king (Proverbs 20:2); something fierce or fearsome (Job 39:20)

GREEK WORD FOR FEAR

phóbos; phóbou, noun from phébomai, to flee from. Fear, terror, reverence, respect, honor.

RECEPTION OF REPRESENTATIVES AND MESSENGERS OF THE LORD 

Cities, nations and governments must also fear the Lord. This is a healthy, reverential respect and awe for the “ēymāh” (the terror of the Judgement of the Lord)

This is a fear of the Name and Reputation of the Lord that must be respected and revered when cities, nations and governments engage the Lord through His Messengers, Servants and Representatives. 

Exodus 23:20 Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. 21 Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him. 22 But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries. 23 For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off. 24 Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images. 25 And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. 26 There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil. 27 I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee.

THE TWO SPIES IN JERICHO The inhabitants of the city of Jericho were aware of the Name and the reputation of the GOD of the two spies. The people of Jericho were “faint hearted” because of the Manifest Presence of God” that was discerned by Rahab when these two spies came to her house.  The Name and reputation of the “GOD of the spies” preceded them. 

Joshua 2:8 Now before they lay down, she came up to them on the roof, 9 and said to the men: “I know that the LORD has given you the land, that the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land are fainthearted because of you. 10 For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were on the other side of the Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed. 11 And as soon as we heard these things, our hearts melted; neither did there remain any more courage in anyone because of you, for the LORD your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath.

MOSES AND PHARAOH  Pharaoh witnessed the manifestation of the Presence and power of God through the various plagues; however, Pharaoh responded inaccurately. He “hardened his heart”.

Exodus 7:13 And Pharaoh’s heart grew hard, and he did not heed them, as the LORD had said.

NINEVEH’S RECEPTION OF THE MESSAGE OF JONAH This is the message given to His prophet Jonah by God to be delivered to the great city Nineveh concerning the endemic wickedness in that city…..

Jonah 1:1 Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, 2 “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me.”

Jonah 3:4 And Jonah began to enter the city on the first day’s walk. Then he cried out and said, “Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!”

The Fear of the Lord manifested by the king and the people of Nineveh 

Jonah 3:5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them. 6 Then word came to the king of Nineveh; and he arose from his throne and laid aside his robe, covered himself with sackcloth and sat in ashes. 7 And he caused it to be proclaimed and published throughout Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying,

Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; do not let them eat, or drink water. 8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God; yes, let every one turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands. 9 Who can tell if God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we may not perish?

THE FEAR OF GOD DEMONSTRATED THROUGH THE RECEPTION OF THE MESSENGER OF GOD BRINGS DELIVERANCE TO THE WHOLE CITY OF NINEVEH

Jonah 3:10 Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.

JESUS TEACHES AN IMPORTANT CAUTION CONCERNING THE FEAR OF GOD

Matthew 10:27 “Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops. 28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

The revelations shared by Jesus are meant to be shared from the roof of the house (for public knowledge)

Sons of God must not be intimidated by the threat of public persecution to declare the Word of the Lord. Jesus teaches His disciples to preserve our souls rather than succumb to the fear of persecution.

REVERENTIAL FEAR OF GOD

This is the fear of God that inspires the believer to love, respect and obey God.

Exodus 3:6 Moreover He said, “I am the God of your father—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.

God acknowledges that this is a normal response. 

Jeremiah 5:22 Do you not fear Me?’ says the LORD. ‘Will you not tremble at My presence, Who have placed the sand as the bound of the sea, By a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass beyond it?And though its waves toss to and fro, Yet they cannot prevail; Though they roar, yet they cannot pass over it.

Hebrews 12:21 And so terrifying was the sight that Moses said, “I am exceedingly afraid and trembling.”

Acts 2:43 Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. (Acts 5:11; Acts 9:31)

God’s Presence constantly inspired fear. The believer’s fear of God is not based on a fear of death and punishment because Christ has set us free from this (Romans 8:1). Because God’s Presence inspired fear, God announced “Fear not” whenever His Presence manifested. 

Revelation 1:17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.

God, our Heavenly Father, who loves us, is also a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29)

OS DOIS ESPIÕES EM JERICÓ Os habitantes da cidade de Jericó estavam cientes do Nome e da reputação do DEUS dos dois espiões. O povo de Jericó era “de coração fraco” por causa da Presença Manifesta de Deus” que foi percebida por Raabe quando esses dois espiões vieram à sua casa. O nome e a reputação do “DEUS dos espiões” os precederam.

O Medo do Senhor manifestado pelo rei e pelo povo de Nínive

Mas sim temer Aquele que é capaz de destruir tanto a alma quanto o corpo no inferno. 29 Dois pardais não são vendidos por uma moeda de cobre? As revelações compartilhadas por Jesus devem ser compartilhadas do telhado da casa (para conhecimento público)

Filhos de Deus não devem se intimidar pela ameaça de perseguição pública para declarar a Palavra do Senhor. Jesus ensina Seus discípulos a preservar nossas almas em vez de sucumbir ao medo da perseguição.

PROSPERITY 

Hezekiah prospered because God was with him. 

2 Kings 18:7 The LORD was with him; he prospered wherever he went. And he rebelled against the king of Assyria and did not serve him.

The Hebrew Word for rebel

māraḏ: A verb meaning to rebel. This word usually described the activity of resisting authority, whether against the Lord (Numbers 14:9; Daniel 9:9) or against human kings (Genesis 14:4; Nehemiah 2:19). In one instance, it is used to describe those who rebel against the light (that is God’s truth [Job 24:13]). This word is also used to describe a general, rebellious character of a nation (Ezekiel 2:3; 20:38); as well as a specific act of rebellion, such as Hezekiah’s rebellion against Sennacherib (2 Kings 18:7, 20; Isaiah 36:5); or Zedekiah’s rebellion against Nebuchadnezzar (2 Kings. 24:20; Jeremiah 52:3; Ezekiel 17:15)

The Hebrew word “marad” (the act of resisting authority) attracts the favour of God when we resist instructions that are contrary to the Word of the Lord. Presently believers in many countries are “resisting” the interference of Government in the Church where it demands the violation of direct instructions in the Word of God.

Daniel and his friends did not comply with the decrees issued by King Nebuchadnezzar when those decrees contradicted the commands and decrees of God. 

In this account Hezekiah remained steadfast and courageous in his trust in God to deliver His people. This is not surprising because Hezekiah was a disciple of the “ways of David” (2 Kings 18:3)

We will study a few aspects of the “heart of David – a heart after God” 

This will help us to understand the actions of Hezekiah.

We see the heart of David exposed in his passion for the Ark of God (symbolic of the Presence of God) to be restored to Jerusalem 

2 Samuel 6:9 David was afraid of the LORD that day; and he said, “How can the ark of the LORD come to me?” 10 So David would not move the ark of the LORD with him into the City of David; but David took it aside into the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite. 11 The ark of the LORD remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite three months. And the LORD blessed Obed-Edom and all his household.

We must be careful when we host the Presence of God (Ark of God). The Philistines had a disastrous encounter with the Ark of God because they received it as the spoils of war. They incurred the displeasure of God when they positioned the Ark of God alongside Dagon, the god of the Philistines. There are severe Divine judgements and consequences for mishandling the “Manifest Presence of God”. The Ark is not displayed for exhibitionism (for show). Believers need to exercise great spiritual sensitivity to the manifestation of the Presence of God.

Prosperity is inextricably connected to His Divine Presence.

2 Samuel 5:9 Then David dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the City of David. And David built all around from the Millo and inward. 10 So David went on and became great, and the LORD God of hosts was with him. 11 Then Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters and masons. And they built David a house.

The Presence of God with David attracted favour and provision to fulfill his vision. 

After failing to bring the Ark of God to Jerusalem in his first attempt, David implemented the spiritual protocols that were commanded in the Word of God concerning the transportation of the Ark (1 Chronicles 15:15). David expressed his appreciation, reverence and joy to the Lord by sacrificing after six paces. 

2 Samuel 613 And so it was, when those bearing the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, that he sacrificed oxen and fatted sheep.

Hezekiah followed the ways of David. There are distinct similarities between Hezekiah and David ………

Hezekiah placed his trust in God just like David. These are the words of David ….

Psalms 56:3 Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. 4 In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me? 5 All day they twist my words;All their thoughts are against me for evil.

Hezekiah was fully invested in dismantling idolatry 

2 Kings 18:4 He removed the high places and broke the sacred pillars, cut down the wooden image and broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made; for until those days the children of Israel burned incense to it, and called it Nehushtan.

David destroyed the idols of the Philistines. He did not regard them as “spoils of war”

1 Chronicles 14:12 And when they left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.

David was committed to the restoration of worship (to host the Manifest Presence of God)

2 Samuel 6:14 Then David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod. 15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.

The restoration of the Ark of God (Presence of God) to Jerusalem restored the spirit of praise, worship, dancing, shouting and the sound of the trumpet.

Hezekiah, a disciple of the “ways of David” reopened the doors of the Temple, and institutes an agenda of reform and charges the priests and the Levites to embrace and lead in this reformation. His goal, like David, was to restore, sanctify and purify worship in the house of the Lord.

2 Chronicles 29:3 In the first year of his reign, in the first month, he opened the doors of the house of the LORD and repaired them. 4 Then he brought in the priests and the Levites, and gathered them in the East Square, 5 and said to them: “Hear me, Levites! Now sanctify yourselves, sanctify the house of the LORD God of your fathers, and carry out the rubbish from the holy place. 6 For our fathers have trespassed and done evil in the eyes of the LORD our God; they have forsaken Him, have turned their faces away from the dwelling place of the LORD, and turned their backs on Him.

Both kings focussed on restoring the covenant of Judah with God by commanding the people of Judah to return to God and to the Word of God and to be loyal and unshakeable in their faith in God.

Hezekiah’s commitment to God made him very prosperous

2 Chronicles 32:27 Hezekiah had very great riches and honor. And he made himself treasuries for silver, for gold, for precious stones, for spices, for shields, and for all kinds of desirable items; 28 storehouses for the harvest of grain, wine, and oil; and stalls for all kinds of livestock, and folds for flocks. 29 Moreover he provided cities for himself, and possessions of flocks and herds in abundance; for God had given him very much property.

THE MANIFEST PRESENCE OF THE LORD BRINGS PROSPERITY 

1 Samuel 18:14 And David behaved wisely in all his ways, and the LORD was with him.

David was exceptionally prosperous 

1 Chronicles 22:12 Only may the LORD give you wisdom and understanding, and give you charge concerning Israel, that you may keep the law of the LORD your God. 13 Then you will prosper, if you take care to fulfill the statutes and judgments with which the LORD charged Moses concerning Israel. Be strong and of good courage; do not fear nor be dismayed. 14 Indeed I have taken much trouble to prepare for the house of the LORD one hundred thousand talents of gold and one million talents of silver, and bronze and iron beyond measure, for it is so abundant. I have prepared timber and stone also, and you may add to them. 15 Moreover there are workmen with you in abundance: woodsmen and stonecutters, and all types of skillful men for every kind of work. 16 Of gold and silver and bronze and iron there is no limit. Arise and begin working, and the LORD be with you.”

PROSPERITY Prosperity (biological, psychological, social and spiritual well being) is the inevitable consequence of God’s Manifest Presence in your life, household or church.

All Christians are not prosperous. All who have the Manifest Presence of God will prosper but not all who prosper materially have the Manifest Presence of God.

Joseph prospered because God was with him. 

Genesis 39:2 The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. 3 And his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made all he did to prosper in his hand.

Hezekiah prospered because God was with him. 

2 Kings 18:7 The LORD was with him; he prospered wherever he went. And he rebelled against the king of Assyria and did not serve him.

David prospered because God was with him. 

2 Samuel 5:10 So David went on and became great, and the LORD God of hosts was with him.

Obed-Edom and his household prospered because of God’s Presence

2 Samuel 6:11 The ark of the LORD remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite three months. And the LORD blessed Obed-Edom and all his household.12 Now it was told King David, saying, “The LORD has blessed the house of Obed-Edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God.” So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with gladness.

David wanted the Ark to shift from the household of the Gittite to Zion for he sought the prosperity of the city.

Prosperity was the sign of God’s Presence in the “midst of Israel”.

Joel 2:24 The threshing floors shall be full of wheat, And the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil. 25 “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you. 26 You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the LORD your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you.And My people shall never be put to shame. 27 Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel: I am the LORD your God, And there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame.

National prosperity is the result of God’s manifest Presence.

2 Reis 18:7 O SENHOR estava com ele; ele prosperava onde quer que fosse. E ele se rebelou contra o rei da Assíria e não o serviu.

A palavra hebraica para rebelde

māraḏ: Um verbo que significa rebelar. Essa palavra geralmente descrevia a atividade de resistir à autoridade, seja contra o Senhor (Números 14:9; Daniel 9:9) ou contra reis humanos (Gênesis 14:4; Neemias 2:19). Em um caso, é usado para descrever aqueles que se rebelam contra a luz (essa é a verdade de Deus [Jó 24:13]). Essa palavra também é usada para descrever um caráter geral e rebelde de uma nação (Ezequiel 2:3; 20:38); bem como um ato específico de rebelião, como a rebelião de Ezequias contra Senaqueribe (2 Reis 18:7, 20; Isaías 36:5); ou a rebelião de Zedequias contra Nabucodonosor (2 Reis 24:20; Jeremias 52:3; Ezequiel 17:15)

A palavra hebraica “marad” (o ato de resistir à autoridade) atrai o favor de Deus quando resistimos a instruções contrárias à Palavra do Senhor. Atualmente, crentes em muitos países estão “resistindo” à interferência do Governo na Igreja, onde ele exige a violação das instruções diretas da Palavra de Deus.

Daniel e seus amigos não cumpriram os decretos emitidos pelo rei Nabucodonosor quando esses decretos contradiziam os mandamentos e decretos de Deus.

Nesse relato, Ezequias permaneceu firme e corajoso em sua confiança em Deus para livrar Seu povo. Isso não é surpreendente, pois Ezequias era discípulo dos “caminhos de Davi” (2 Reis 18:3)

Vamos estudar alguns aspectos do “coração de Davi – um coração depois de Deus”

Isso nos ajudará a entender as ações de Ezequias.

Vemos o coração de Davi exposto em sua paixão pela Arca de Deus (símbolo da Presença de Deus) para ser restaurada em Jerusalém

2 Samuel 6:9 Davi temeu o SENHOR naquele dia; e ele disse: “Como a arca do SENHOR pode vir até mim?” 10 Assim, Davi não levaria a arca do SENHOR com ele para a Cidade de Davi; mas Davi a levou para a casa de Obed-Edom, o gitita. 11 A arca do SENHOR permaneceu na casa de Obed-Edom, o gitita, por três meses. E o SENHOR abençoou Obed-Edom e toda a sua família.

Devemos ter cuidado ao hospedar a Presença de Deus (Arca de Deus). Os filisteus tiveram um encontro desastroso com a Arca de Deus porque a receberam como despojos de guerra. Eles causaram o desagrado de Deus ao posicionarem a Arca de Deus ao lado de Dagon, o deus dos filisteus. Existem julgamentos divinos severos e consequências por lidar mal com a “Presença Manifesta de Deus”. A Arca não é exibida por exibicionismo (para exibição). Os crentes precisam exercer grande sensibilidade espiritual à manifestação da Presença de Deus.

A prosperidade está intrinsecamente ligada à Sua Presença Divina.

2 Samuel 5:9 Então Davi habitou na fortaleza e a chamou de Cidade de Davi. E David construiu ao redor, do Millo para dentro. 10 Então Davi seguiu em frente e tornou-se grande, e o SENHOR Deus dos exércitos estava com ele. 11 Então Hiram, rei de Tiro, enviou mensageiros a Davi, e cedros, e carpinteiros e pedreiros. E construíram uma casa para David.

A Presença de Deus com Davi atraiu favor e provisão para realizar sua visão.

Após falhar em trazer a Arca de Deus para Jerusalém em sua primeira tentativa, Davi implementou os protocolos espirituais que eram ordenados na Palavra de Deus sobre o transporte da Arca (1 Crônicas 15:15). David expressou sua gratidão, reverência e alegria ao Senhor sacrificando após seis passos.

2 Samuel 613 E assim foi, quando aqueles que carregavam a arca do SENHOR já tinham dado seis passos, que ele sacrificou bois e engordou ovelhas.

Ezequias seguiu os caminhos de Davi. Existem semelhanças distintas entre Ezequias e Davi ………

Ezequias depositou sua confiança em Deus assim como Davi. Estas são as palavras de Davi….

Salmos 56:3 Sempre que eu tiver medo, confiarei em Ti. 4 Em Deus (louvarei a Sua palavra), em Deus depositei minha confiança; Não vou ter medo. O que a carne pode fazer comigo? 5 O dia todo eles distorcem minhas palavras; Todos os pensamentos deles são contra mim por mal.

Ezequias estava totalmente investido em desmontar a idolatria

2 Reis 18:4 Ele removeu os lugares altos e quebrou os pilares sagrados, cortou a imagem de madeira e quebrou em pedaços a serpente de bronze que Moisés havia feito; pois até esses dias os filhos de Israel queimavam incenso nele e o chamavam de Nehushtan.

Davi destruiu os ídolos dos filisteus. Ele não os considerava “despojos de guerra”

1 Crônicas 14:12 E quando deixaram seus deuses ali, Davi deu um mandamento, e foram queimados com fogo.

David estava comprometido com a restauração do culto (para hospedar a Presença Manifesta de Deus)

2 Samuel 6:14 Então Davi dançou diante do SENHOR com toda a sua força; e Davi usava um efódon de linho. 15 Assim Davi e toda a casa de Israel levantaram a arca do SENHOR com gritos e com o som da trombeta.

A restauração da Arca de Deus (Presença de Deus) em Jerusalém restaurou o espírito de louvor, adoração, dança, gritos e o som da trombeta.

Ezequias, discípulo dos “caminhos de Davi”, reabriu as portas do Templo e instituiu uma agenda de reforma, ordenando aos sacerdotes e levitas que abraçassem e liderassem essa reforma. Seu objetivo, assim como Davi, era restaurar, santificar e purificar o culto na casa do Senhor.

2 Crônicas 29:3 No primeiro ano de seu reinado, no primeiro mês, ele abriu as portas da casa do SENHOR e as reparou. 4 Então ele trouxe os sacerdotes e os levitas, e os reuniu na Praça Leste, 5 e disse-lhes: “Ouçai-me, levitas! Agora santificem-se, santifiquem a casa do SENHOR Deus de vossos antepassados e retirem o lixo do lugar sagrado. 6 Pois nossos pais terãoofendido e feito o mal aos olhos do SENHOR, nosso Deus; eles o abandonaram, viraram o rosto para longe do lugar de morada do SENHOR e deram as costas a Ele.

Ambos os reis focaram em restaurar a aliança de Judá com Deus, ordenando ao povo de Judá que retornasse a Deus e à Palavra de Deus e fosse leal e inabalável em sua fé em Deus.

O compromisso de Ezequias com Deus o tornou muito próspero

2 Crônicas 32:27 Ezequias teve grandes riquezas e honra. E ele fez tesouros para prata, para ouro, para pedras preciosas, para especiarias, para escudos e para todo tipo de itens desejáveis; 28 armazéns para a colheita de grãos, vinho e óleo; e baias para todos os tipos de gado, e dobras para rebanhos. 29 Além disso, ele providenciou cidades para si e posses abundantes de rebanhos e manadas; pois Deus lhe dera muita propriedade.

A PRESENÇA MANIFESTA DO SENHOR TRAZ PROSPERIDADE

1 Samuel 18:14 E Davi se comportou sabiamente em todos os seus caminhos, e o SENHOR estava com ele.

David era excepcionalmente próspero

1 Crônicas 22:12 Só o SENHOR pode vos dar sabedoria e compreensão, e vos dar a ordem sobre Israel, para que guardeies a lei do SENHOR, vosso Deus. 13 Então prosperarão, se se preocuparem em cumprir os estatutos e julgamentos com os quais o SENHOR encarregou Moisés em relação a Israel. Seja forte e de coragem; Não tema nem se afaste. 14 De fato, me esforcei muito para preparar para a casa do SENHOR cem mil talentos de ouro e um milhão de talentos de prata, e bronze e ferro além de toda medida, pois é tão abundante. Também preparei madeira e pedra, e você pode acrescentar a elas. 15 Além disso, há muitos trabalhadores com você: lenhadores e cortadores de pedra, e todo tipo de homens habilidosos para todo tipo de trabalho. 16 De ouro, prata, bronze e ferro, não há limite. PROSPERIDADE A prosperidade (bem-estar biológico, psicológico, social e espiritual) é a consequência inevitável da Presença Manifesta de Deus em sua vida, domicílio ou igreja.

Nem todos os cristãos são prósperos. Todos que possuem a Presença Manifesta de Deus prosperarão, mas nem todos os que prosperam materialmente possuem a Presença Manifesta de Deus.

José prosperou porque Deus estava com ele.

Gênesis 39:2 O SENHOR estava com José, e ele era um homem bem-sucedido; e ele estava na casa de seu senhor, o egípcio. 3 E seu mestre viu que o SENHOR estava com ele e que o SENHOR fez tudo o que fez prosperar em suas mãos.

Ezequias prosperou porque Deus estava com ele.

2 Reis 18:7 O SENHOR estava com ele; ele prosperava onde quer que fosse. E ele se rebelou contra o rei da Assíria e não o serviu.

Davi prosperou porque Deus estava com ele.

2 Samuel 5:10 Então Davi foi e se tornou grande, e o SENHOR, Deus dos exércitos, estava com ele.

Obed-Edom e sua família prosperaram graças à Presença de Deus

2 Samuel 6:11 A arca do SENHOR permaneceu na casa de Obed-Edom, o gitita, por três meses. E o SENHOR abençoou Obed-Edom e toda a sua família.12 Agora foi dito ao rei Davi, dizendo: “O SENHOR abençoou a casa de Obed-Edom e tudo o que lhe pertence, por causa da arca de Deus.” Então Davi foi e trouxe a arca de Deus da casa de Obed-Edom para a Cidade de Davi com alegria.

Davi queria que a Arca se transferisse da casa dos gititas para Sião, pois buscava a prosperidade da cidade.

A prosperidade era o sinal da Presença de Deus no “meio de Israel”.

Joel 2:24 As debulhas estarão cheias de trigo, e os tanques transbordarão de vinho e azeite novos. 25 “Assim vos devolverei os anos que o gafanhoto enxameante comeu, O gafanhoto rastejante, O gafanhoto consumidor, E o gafanhoto mastigador, Meu grande exército que enviei entre vós. 26 Comerei em abundância e ficarão satisfeitos, e louvarás o nome do SENHOR teu Deus, que fez maravilhas contigo. E o Meu povo nunca será envergonhado. 27 Então saberei que estou no meio de Israel: Eu sou o SENHOR vosso Deus, e não há outro. Meu povo nunca será envergonhado.

A prosperidade nacional é resultado da Presença manifesta de Deus.
