Hag 2:6-7
6 “For thus says the LORD of hosts: “Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; 7 and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the LORD of hosts.
We remain hopeful that the shakings that the earth is experiencing, both natural and spiritual will cause believers to gather as a corporate man; believers from different doctrinal and theological persuasions will lay aside “foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless” and come to the temple, not the one many believe to be rebuilt in Jerusalem, but the spiritual temple that is manifested as all believers would regularly gather to hear the Word of the Lord to the city.
This is the gathering that God promises to fill with His glory. However, we should be careful to note that believers should be drawn to the “Desire of All Nations”…the King over all kings, the Lord over all lords. We should not fall into error; the Lord of the temple is greater than the temple itself. We gather because we believe His glory will be manifested when we gather in one mind and one accord. Then we will experience His very Presence. That we will hear and receive His voice as spoken through His servants; where in this spiritually charged environment there would be signs and wonders.
The Lord Jesus must become the object of our desire to gather as one man.
Ps 42:1-4
As the deer pants for the water brooks,So pants my soul for You, O God. 2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.When shall I come and appear before God? 3 My tears have been my food day and night,While they continually say to me,”Where is your God?”
4 When I remember these things,I pour out my soul within me.For I used to go with the multitude;I went with them to the house of God,With the voice of joy and praise,With a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast.
David longed for God; his soul longed for God. Not for the rituals and the ordinances of the temple; but for fellowship with God Himself.
I know many people who miss the fellowship of the brethren when are away for a while. I know others who miss being in His Presence; something some believers miss when they are away from a particular place of worship.
His glory will be evident in His temple
