I would like to share my thoughts about the importance of allowing our grace and gifts to function and operate in during our most challenging circumstances.

Every individual has a gift or talent that has the potential to be a solution to another person’s crisis.

Proverbs 18:16 A man’s gift makes room for him, And brings him before great men.

Our gifts have an inherent ability to create room and space for us. We will be searched out for our gifts and grace in an environment where grace has become a rare, precious commodity. When exercised responsibly our gifts give Glory and praise to God

John describes Christ as an immeasurable resource of grace and truth; it is from this unquantifiable repository that grace is supernaturally transacted in varying measures with believers.

John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Lamentations 3:22 Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

The Word “consumed” evolves from the Greek word tāmam …..which means to be complete, to finish, to conclude; of bringing closure; the completing of a building project ; the exhausting of resources; the utter destruction of something ; and the fulfilling of an established period of time

We remember the economic crisis during the time of Joseph in Egypt that resulted in a severe famine. Because of the astute leadership grace of Joseph, total disaster was avoided. I would like to use Joseph as a point of reference this morning in revealing the room that Joseph created by using his gift to serve others from the place of his incarceration.2

Genesis 39:20 Then Joseph’s master took him and put him into the prison, a place where the king’s prisoners were confined. And he was there in the prison. 21 But the LORD was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison. 22 And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners who were in the prison; whatever they did there, it was his doing. 23 The keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under Joseph’s authority, because the LORD was with him; and whatever he did, the LORD made it prosper.

Joseph was given the responsibility to oversee the other prisoners; Joseph earnest the trust of the Chief Warden to work unsupervised because it was discerned that the Lord was with Joseph.

Remember that Joseph was experiencing his own personal battles; he had valid reasons to be aggrieved; he was the victim of a false accusation; from being in charge of Potiphar’s household Joseph now found himself in prison. First it was his brothers who abandoned him in a pit now he finds himself in prison. Both instances he had done nothing wrong.

False accusations can have serious negative consequences. There is resentment, frustration, confusion, anger and discord involved when an individual knows that he or she was wrongfully accused. It affects a person’s psychological health; relationships with others; negative attitude towards the justice system

Yet none of these characteristic symptoms of betrayal are evidenced in the life of Joseph. It is his father Jacob who reveals the source of Joseph’s indomitable spirit.

Genesis 49:23 The archers have bitterly grieved him, Shot at him and hated him. 24 But his bow remained in strength, And the arms of his hands were made strong By the hands of the Mighty God of Jacob 25 By the God of your father who will help you, And by the Almighty who will bless you With blessings of heaven above, Blessings of the deep that lies beneath, Blessings of the breasts and of the womb. 26 The blessings of your father Have excelled the blessings of my ancestors, Up to the utmost bound of the everlasting hills. They shall be on the head of Joseph, And on the crown of the head of him who was separate from his brothers.

Here is the secret of Joseph’s mental, physical and spiritual strength. His arms were made strong by Almighty God It is God who helps Joseph and blesses him. Jacob prophesied that various blessings will be on the head of Joseph

The scriptures record that Joseph served the butler and the baker when they were imprisoned by interpreting their dreams. Joseph refused to allow his personal sufferings to inhibit the flow of grace.

Genesis 40:8 And they said to him, “We each have had a dream, and there is no interpreter of it.” So Joseph said to them, “Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell them to me, please.” Joseph exercises his gift responsibly by declaring God to be the revealer of dreams and mysteries. Even if we are in chains,we ought not to stop exercising our gifts. It will make room for us.

The apostle Paul wrote some of the most impactful, immortal verses in scripture from dungeons in a prison.

Philippians 4:11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: 12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Let nothing prevent our grace and gifts to operate. Observe how God uses Joseph’s gift to create room for him by bringing him before Pharaoh. In the course of time Pharaoh has a dream. The magicians and wise men of Egypt are unable to interpret the dream of Pharaoh. The chief butler informed Pharaoh about the ability of Joseph to interpret dreams.

Genesis 41:12 Now there was a young Hebrew man with us there, a servant of the captain of the guard. And we told him, and he interpreted our dreams for us; to each man he interpreted according to his own dream.

One moment Joseph was in prison. The next moment he was appointed as second in charge to Pharaoh. God used Joseph’s gift to bring him to this place of favour. Joseph’s brothers were after the wrong thing. They thought it was the coat of many colors. It was not …. it was the favour and Presence of God in Joseph’s life

Genesis 41:16 So Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, “It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh an answer of peace.”

Joseph was able to interpret the dream of Pharaoh as well as give him all the administrative logistics and strategies required inorder to survive the famine. We know that this strategy catapulted Egypt to being the major supplier of grain to the nations during the period of famine

Genesis 41:34 Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, to collect one-fifth of the produce of the land of Egypt in the seven plentiful years. 35 And let them gather all the food of those good years that are coming, and store up grain under the authority of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities. 36 Then that food shall be as a reserve for the land for the seven years of famine which shall be in the land of Egypt, that the land may not perish during the famine.”

The scriptures declared that “the money failed”. This speaks of an economic collapse. Joseph was gifted in wisdom and discernment. It was Pharaoh who identified the skills of Joseph when he declared “There is none as discerning as wise as you”. Sometimes, recognition comes from the most unexpected places, like Egypt.

Horus is the Egyptian deity and the national god of Egypt. Horus is the god of wealth, power, strength, universe, and prosperity. Horus is believed to be the supreme power of the universe. Yet Horus could not provide the solution for the impending economic collapse (the money failed). God’s instrument of deliverance was Joseph, who needed to be called out of prison. like Micaiah.

Cada indivíduo tem um dom ou talento com potencial para ser uma solução para a crise de outra pessoa.

Lamentações 3: 22-23 Pelas misericórdias do Senhor não somos consumidos, Porque Sua compaixão não falha. Eles são novos a cada manhã; Grande é a Sua fidelidade.

A palavra “consumido” evolui da palavra grega tāmam … que significa ser completo, terminar, concluir; de encerrar; a conclusão de um projeto de construção; o esgotamento de recursos; a destruição total de algo; e o cumprimento de um prazo estabelecido.

Lembramos a crise econômica durante o tempo de José no Egito, que resultou em uma grande fome.  Por causa da graça de liderança astuta de José, o desastre total foi evitado.  Eu gostaria de usar José como um ponto de referência esta manhã, revelando a sala que José criou usando seu dom para servir aos outros a partir do local de seu encarceramento.

Gênesis 39:20-23 Então o mestre de José o levou e o colocou na prisão, um lugar onde os prisioneiros do rei eram confinados.  E ele estava lá na prisão. Mas o Senhor estava com José e mostrou-lhe misericórdia, e deu-lhe graça aos olhos do guarda da prisão. E o guarda da prisão confiou nas mãos de José todos os presos que estavam na prisão;  o que quer que eles fizessem lá, era obra dele. O guarda da prisão não olhou para nada que estava sob a autoridade de José, porque o Senhor estava com ele;  e tudo o que ele fez, o Senhor o fez prosperar.

José recebeu a responsabilidade de supervisionar os outros prisioneiros;  José conquistou a confiança do Diretor-chefe para trabalhar sem supervisão, pois foi discernido que o Senhor estava com José.

Lembre-se de que Joseph estava enfrentando suas próprias batalhas pessoais;  ele tinha razões válidas para estar ofendido;  ele foi vítima de uma acusação falsa;  de ser o responsável pela casa de Potifar, José agora se encontrava na prisão.  Primeiro foram seus irmãos que o abandonaram em uma cova agora que ele se encontra na prisão.  Em ambas as ocasiões, ele não fez nada de errado.

Falsas acusações podem ter consequências negativas graves.  Há ressentimento, frustração, confusão, raiva e discórdia quando um indivíduo sabe que foi acusado injustamente.  Afeta a saúde psicológica de uma pessoa;  relacionamentos com outros;  atitude negativa em relação ao sistema de justiça.

No entanto, nenhum desses sintomas característicos de traição são evidenciados na vida de José.  É seu pai Jacó quem revela a fonte do espírito indomável de José.

Gênesis 49:23 Os arqueiros o entristeceram amargamente; atiraram nele e o odiaram. Mas o seu arco permaneceu forte, e os braços das suas mãos foram fortalecidos pelas mãos do Deus Poderoso de Jacó Pelo Deus de teu pai que te ajudará, E pelo Todo Poderoso que te abençoará com as bênçãos do céu  acima, Bênçãos das profundezas que está abaixo, Bênçãos dos seios e do ventre. As escrituras registram que José serviu ao mordomo e ao padeiro quando eles foram presos por interpretar seus sonhos.  José recusou-se a permitir que seus sofrimentos pessoais inibissem o fluxo da graça.

Gênesis 40: 8 E disseram-lhe: “Cada um de nós teve um sonho, e não há intérprete para o mesmo.”  José então lhes disse: “As interpretações não pertencem a Deus?  Diga-os para mim, por favor. ”

José exerce seu dom de forma responsável, declarando que Deus é o revelador de sonhos e mistérios.  Mesmo que estejamos acorrentados, não devemos parar de exercitar nossos dons.  Isso abrirá espaço para nós.

O apóstolo Paulo escreveu alguns dos versículos mais impactantes e imortais das escrituras nas masmorras de uma prisão.

Filipenses 4:11-13 Não que fale a respeito da necessidade, porque aprendi em qualquer estado em que estou, a estar contente. Eu sei ser humilhado e sei ter abundância.  Em todas as partes e em todas as coisas, aprendi a estar farto e a ter fome, a ter abundância e a sofrer necessidades. Posso todas as coisas naquele que me fortalece.

Que nada impeça nossa graça e dons de operar.  Observe como Deus usa o presente de José para criar espaço para ele, trazendo-o diante do Faraó.  Com o passar do tempo, o Faraó teve um sonho.  Os magos e sábios do Egito são incapazes de interpretar o sonho do Faraó.  O mordomo-chefe informou ao Faraó sobre a capacidade de José de interpretar sonhos.

Gênesis 41:12 Ora, estava ali conosco um jovem hebreu, servo do capitão da guarda.  E nós contamos a ele, e ele interpretou nossos sonhos para nós;  a cada homem ele interpretou de acordo com seu próprio sonho.

Num momento, José estava na prisão.  No momento seguinte, ele foi nomeado segundo encarregado do Faraó.  Deus usou o dom de José para trazê-lo a este lugar de favor.  Os irmãos de José estavam atrás da coisa errada.  Eles pensaram que era o casaco de várias cores.  Não era ….  Foi o favor e a presença de Deus na vida de José

These carriers of grace :

• Do not come through the roof
• They do not come like the thief in the night through the window
• They do not despise the man who represents Christ standing at the door (spiritual father)
• They do not bypass the spiritual authority ordained by God
• They do not despise the one sent by God
• They do not bring chaos, anarchy and disorder into the house of God and the city
• They do not defraud the house of God
• They do not alienate sons from their fathers
• They do not come to create a “church within a church”

These carriers of grace come through the GATE/DOOR carrying grace, with the blessing and knowledge of the spiritual father of the household/family, to train and equip believers so that they come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect (mature) man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. The whole world is waiting to witness this great appearing of the Sons of God. This is the remnant that will reveal the integrity of Christ and they will carry the Ark into the city. Remember this always : No five fold grace is greater than the DOOR/GATE (Christ – spiritual father)The local church (household/family of faith) accesses grace through the man standing at the DOOR/GATE of the sheepfold. It was always the intention of God from the beginning for His people to be a Kingdom of priests. The church of Jesus Christ is the spiritual Israel of God

Exodus 19:5 Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. 6 And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.”

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

All believers are called to be the THE ROYAL PRIESTHOOD. As we develop both the king and priestly dimension in our nature, we will reveal the image of God in the midst of a people who despise the priestly dimension.

These are some key aspects and features of the priesthood

• Teaching and preaching the Word of God is a fundamental demand of the priesthood. This may be done through ministry platforms or “house/cell groups” or individual witnessing.

2 Chronicles 15:1 Now the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded. 2 And he went out to meet Asa, and said to him: “Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin. The LORD is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you. 3 For a long time Israel has been without the true God, without a teaching priest, and without law; 4 but when in their trouble they turned to the LORD God of Israel, and sought Him, He was found by them. 5 And in those times there was no peace to the one who went out, nor to the one who came in, but great turmoil was on all the inhabitants of the lands. 6 So nation was destroyed by nation, and city by city, for God troubled them with every adversity. 7 But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!”

Central to the reformation initiated by Asa wads return to the laws of God being proclaimed to the nation of God’s people. This demanded the ministry of “teaching priests”.

• Breaking of Bread (Table of the Lord)

This is a priestly ordinance that is expressly commanded by the Lord. It is done in remembrance of the Lord as the perfect sacrificial offering, the wafer being symbolic of the Lord’s body and the wine being symbolic of the Lord’s blood. The priestly ministry of the Holy Sacraments to the believers releases grace to the believers, who boldly come to the Table of the Lord with a hope of expectancy who otherwise may feel unsanctified.

• PRAYERS/BUILDING UNITY AND APOSTOLIC CULTURE AMONG THE BELIEVERS

The priests that descended from the lineage of Aaron and his sons were wholly consecrated to serve God, under the spiritual oversight of Moses who was God’s chosen leader.

Present day priesthood is also responsible for the baptism of new believers. Prayers and intercession are offered for the sick and other needs of the congregation members. The priesthood is a representative of Christ who is the Lord of His church, and is responsible for training and equipping until Christ is formed and His image revealed.

All these disciplines were practised by the early church in Acts 2:42-47. The practice of these disciplines will produce an apostolic culture among God’s people. This is the culture that has to withstand the emergence of a counter culture that threatens to discredit and bring into disrepute our identity as the people of God.

The challenge for present day leadership is to ensure that our zeal for dominion is tempered by our consciousness concerning the Word of Christ, our High Priest, King of Kings and the ultimate Sacrifice.

2 Crônicas 15:1-7 O Espírito de Deus veio sobre Azarias, filho de Odede. Ele saiu para encontrar-se com Asa e lhe disse: “Escutem-me, Asa e todo o povo de Judá e de Benjamim. O Senhor está com vocês quando vocês estão com ele. Se o buscarem, ele deixará que o encontrem, mas, se o abandonarem, ele os abandonará. Durante muito tempo Israel esteve sem o verdadeiro Deus, sem sacerdote para ensiná-lo e sem a Lei. Mas em sua angústia eles se voltaram para o Senhor, o Deus de Israel; buscaram-no, e ele deixou que o encontrassem. Naqueles dias não era seguro viajar, pois muitos distúrbios afligiam a todos os habitantes do território. Nações e cidades se destruíam umas às outras, pois Deus as estava afligindo com toda espécie de desgraças. Mas, vocês devem ser fortes e não se desanimar, pois o trabalho de vocês será recompensado”.

Centro da reforma iniciada por Asa, o retorno às leis de Deus sendo proclamadas à nação do povo de Deus. Isso exigia o ministério de “sacerdotes docentes”.

• Partida do Pão (Mesa do Senhor)

Esta é uma ordenança sacerdotal expressamente ordenada pelo Senhor. É feita em memória do Senhor como a oferta de sacrifício perfeita, o pão sendo um símbolo do corpo do Senhor e o vinho sendo um símbolo do sangue do Senhor. O ministério sacerdotal dos Santos Sacramentos para os crentes libera graça para os crentes, que corajosamente vêm à Mesa do Senhor com uma esperança de expectativa, que de outra forma podem se sentir não santificados.

• Orações / construindo unidade e cultura apostólica entre os crentes

Todas essas disciplinas foram praticadas pela igreja primitiva em Atos 2:42-47. A prática dessas disciplinas produzirá uma cultura apostólica entre o povo de Deus. Essa é a cultura que deve resistir ao surgimento de uma contra-cultura que ameaça desacreditar e desacreditar nossa identidade como povo de Deus.

MY JOURNEY FROM DEATH TO LIFE – A TESTIMONY by TERENCE PILLAY

For all intents and purposes, I shouldn’t be standing in front of you today. Due to a prolonged illness, the doctors gave up on me saying there was nothing more they could do.

But let me take you back to the beginning to give you some context. In May this year I fell really ill and was rushed to the hospital where they performed a series of tests. I was eventually diagnosed with stage 5 renal failure. The next month saw me go in and out of hospital looking at various options and eventually it was settled that aggressive dialysis was the only option.

I was then admitted into hospital to have the dialysisport fitted in and start the treatment. But the treatment didn’t immediately work. I kept crashing on the machine and couldn’t cope without oxygen. During this time I also somehow picked up a pulmonary infection and had to be moved to the ICU as my lungs were collapsing and I had developed pneumonia on the left side.

I continued to require oxygen and on the 13th of July I was intubated and placed on life support. The prognosis at this stage was not positive and I was heading into being in a coma. By this stage I was 100% on life support and my condition didn’t seem to be improving at all. In fact my brother Trevor was in touch with the doctors the whole time and they continued to tell him that my condition was critical.

All this time I was all alone in the ICU unaware of everything that was going on. My family couldn’t visit because of the strict Covid 19 protocols and hadn’t had any contact with me for over a month now.

Then on the 21st of July, the hospital called my family to say there was nothing more they could do for me and they should say goodbye. My brother Theo came in the next day but I was still not conscious and they asked him to send a priest if they wanted to as I was nearing the end.

The next day, on the 23rd of July, Pastor Roy and Pastor Alistair were allowed to come in to say a prayer. Pastor Roy placed some oil on my forehead and I immediately woke up. I recognized them both and started talking to them. Pastor Roy told me it was the supernatural touch of the Lord and the power of the prayer of hundreds of people around the world who were on his prayer network.

Me waking up that day was nothing but a miracle. It cannot be explained any other way. It baffled the doctors who had already written me off but we are not a people who believe in the report of the doctors. We believe in the report of the Lord. And his report says I am healed!

Three days later I was back home and began my recovery. I found out that all the while I was in the hospital there were people praying for my healing and this is the only reason I am here today.

I want to thank Pastor Roy and Pastor Shiela and CCF and the network of prayer warriors around the world for the love, support and prayer that got me to where I am now. And all glory must be given to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who is the Healer Divine and in whom I live and move and have my being.

This whole experience has reminded me of the lyrics of one of my favourite songs and couldn’t be more apt. It says, “Life and Death stood face to face and darkness tried to steal my heart away. Thank you Jesus. Mercy said NO!”

Durante esse tempo, também peguei uma infecção pulmonar e tive que ser transferido para a UTI, pois meus pulmões estavam em colapso e eu havia desenvolvido pneumonia no lado esquerdo.

Continuei a precisar de oxigênio e no dia 13 de julho fui entubado e colocado em aparelho de suporte de vida. O prognóstico nesta fase não era positivo e eu estava entrando em coma. Nesse estágio, eu estava 100% com suporte de vida e minha condição não parecia estar melhorando em nada. Na verdade, meu irmão Trevor manteve contato com os médicos o tempo todo e eles continuaram a lhe dizer que minha condição era crítica.

Todo esse tempo fiquei sozinha na UTI, sem saber de tudo o que estava acontecendo. Minha família não podia visitar por causa dos rígidos protocolos da Covid 19 e não tinha nenhum contato comigo há mais de um mês.

Então, no dia 21 de julho, o hospital ligou para minha família para dizer que não havia mais nada que eles pudessem fazer por mim e que deveriam se despedir. Meu irmão Theo veio no dia seguinte, mas eu ainda não estava consciente e eles pediram que ele enviasse um padre se eles quisessem, pois eu estava perto do fim.

No dia seguinte, 23 de julho, o pastor Roy e o pastor Alistair puderam entrar para fazer uma oração. O pastor Roy colocou um pouco de óleo na minha testa e eu imediatamente acordei. Eu reconheci os dois e comecei a falar com eles. O pastor Roy me disse que foi o toque sobrenatural do Senhor e o poder da oração de centenas de pessoas ao redor do mundo que estavam em sua rede de oração.

Acordar naquele dia não foi nada além de um milagre. Não pode ser explicado de outra maneira. Fiquei perplexo os médicos que já haviam me descartado, mas não somos um povo que acredita no relatório dos médicos. Acreditamos no relato do Senhor. E seu relatório diz que estou curado!

Três dias depois, voltei para casa e comecei minha recuperação. Descobri que durante todo o tempo que estive no hospital havia pessoas orando pela minha cura e esta é a única razão pela qual estou aqui hoje.

Quero agradecer ao pastor Roy, ao pastor Shiela e ao CCF e à rede de guerreiros de oração ao redor do mundo pelo amor, apoio e oração que me levaram até onde estou agora. E toda a glória deve ser dada a nosso Senhor e Salvador Jesus Cristo, que é o Curador Divino e em quem vivo e me movo e tenho o meu ser.

The Jewish New Year is called Rosh Hashanah. Following the beginning of the New Year is a ten day period of introspection and repentance, also known as the Ten Days of Repentance or the Ten Days of Awe. These days also include days of fasting and prayers. During this period it is customary for Jews to forgive those that they may have wronged. The belief is that forgiveness will alter the judgement of the Lord in their favour. This period of “Ten Days of Introspection and Restitution” culminates in Yom Kippur also known as the Day of Atonement. This day is the holiest day in the Jewish calendar when Jews fast for the entire period that requires 5 sessions of prayers.

According to history Yom Kippur was first initiated after the Israelites had committed a grave sin against God by the construction of the golden calf in the absence of Moses, the God ordained leader who was receiving the Law from God Himself on Mount Sinai. Moses interceded before God for the people and repented of the sins of the people and asked God for atonement.

Exodus 32:30 Now it came to pass on the next day that Moses said to the people, “You have committed a great sin. So now I will go up to the LORD; perhaps I can make atonement for your sin.” 31 Then Moses returned to the LORD and said, “Oh, these people have committed a great sin, and have made for themselves a god of gold! 32 Yet now, if You will forgive their sin—but if not, I pray, blot me out of Your book which You have written.”

This entire period of penitence observed by the people of God prepared their lives to be blessed for the rest of the year especially as they would shortly begin the Ingathering of the Harvest also known as the Feast of Tabernacles. This is a joyous celebration that is filled with singing and dancing with an overwhelming spirit of Thanksgiving in their hearts to the Lord.

As believers in a Triune God, Christ has become our total and final atonement as the spotless and sinless sacrificial Lamb. The transition from the Day of Atonement to a culture of atonement is only possible through the Cross. The principle of repentance and restitution remains even to this present day.

We know how the acts of Zaccheus, a despised tax collector, immediately prompted the visitation of Jesus to his home.

Luke 13:1 There were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And Jesus answered and said to them, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”

No one is exempted from repentance to receive forgiveness. We refuse to embrace a “hyper grace” counter culture that demands forgiveness without repentance.

The apostle Paul was clear in his instructions to the believers in Corinth concerning those who would observe the Feast.

1 Corinthians 5:7 Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us. 8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

O ano novo judaico é chamado de Rosh Hashanah. Esta é uma celebração alegre, repleta de cantos e danças com um espírito avassalador de ação de graças em seus corações ao Senhor.

Como crentes em um Deus Triuno, Cristo se tornou nossa expiação total e final como o Cordeiro sacrificial sem mancha e sem pecado. A transição do Dia da Expiação para uma cultura da expiação só é possível por meio da Cruz. O princípio de arrependimento e restituição permanece até os dias de hoje.

Sabemos como os atos de Zaqueu, um desprezado cobrador de impostos, imediatamente motivaram a visitação de Jesus à sua casa.

(Lucas 13:1-5) Naquela ocasião, alguns dos que estavam presentes contaram a Jesus que Pilatos misturara o sangue de alguns galileus com os sacrifícios deles.  O apóstolo Paulo foi claro em suas instruções aos crentes em Corinto a respeito daqueles que observariam a festa.

(1 Coríntios 5:7-8) Livrem-se do fermento velho, para que sejam massa nova e sem fermento, como realmente são. Pois Cristo, nosso Cordeiro pascal, foi sacrificado. Por isso, celebremos a festa, não com o fermento velho, nem com o fermento da maldade e da perversidade, mas com os pães sem fermento da sinceridade e da verdade.

The majority of believers are familiar with the doctrine of the Holy Trinity. I would like to illuminate further our understanding regarding the dynamic syncretism within the Godhead, more specifically the immaculate cohesion between God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit as they present the Triune God as ONE.

The Triune God is sacrosanct meaning that the union between the Father, Son and the Spirit is extremely sacred or inviolable; the Triune God is sovereign meaning He does exactly as He pleases. The wind blows where it wishes.

The Divine status of the Triune God prohibits any form of violation; it is immune from destruction, violence, infringement, desecration, profanity or blasphemy.

The Triune God and His acts are above and beyond any form of accountability, criticism, alteration or interference.

God sets the rules, ordinances, decrees, commands for His family which is constituted in the entirety of His Word.

The church, which is the bride of Christ, needs to prepare itself mentally, physically and spiritually to live with a husband of this stature.

We may not like some of His protocols, but we cannot change anything. It is impossible to divide the relationship between God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit They remain eternally in PERFECT agreement.

This is the tripartite relationship that believers called to represent. This is the perfect standard. One Lord, One faith, One baptism. There is transparency and clarity within the Triune God.

For example, the Holy Spirit does not speak on His own authority; what He hears being spoken between Jesus and the Father, He will communicate the EXACT SAME THING to the believers. This is how Divine intelligence or the proceeding Word is transmitted to the believer.

When God created Adam and Eve, He gave them specific instructions for life in the garden. He positioned them in the same environment as the serpent that was also created by Him. It is exactly the same today; the environment created by God resounds with multiple voices.

In the midst of the cacophony of discordant voices, the Word of the Triune God must prevail. Believers must continue to declare “It is written”. This remains the great challenge of the day.

By studying the attributes of the Triune God, we may have just a glimpse into who He is. The vastness and complexities of God are impossible to fathom.

We must know the Triune God by the name of Elohim – plural; is one of strength or power of effect. Elohim is the infinite, all-powerful God who shows by His works that He is the Creator, sustainer, and supreme judge of the world.

Sometimes, God has to speak from a whirlwind to bring His people to their senses.

Job 38:1 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said: 2 “Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge? 3 Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me.

The Spirit of the Living God was quietly listening in to the conversations between Job and his three friends; to all their theories and perspectives about Job’s present predicament. Job was clueless concerning the experiment God made with satan concerning him, his family and his possessions. Job had no idea that God believed that there was none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil.

God says that the words that He has been hearing are words without knowledge. God hears every word that we speak , especially those words that bring His faithfulness to His Word into disrepute

Miriam and Aaron discovered this truth when they challenged, despised and discredited the leadership and authority of Moses.

Numbers 12:2 So they said, “Has the Lord indeed spoken only through Moses? Has He not spoken through us also?” And the Lord heard it.

In Verse 8 God asks Miriam and Aaron : “Why then were you not afraid to speak against My servant Moses?”

Sometimes the Lord needs to address the sons of God from the whirlwind.

Job 38: 4 “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding. 5 Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? 6 To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone, 7 When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy?8 “Or who shut in the sea with doors, When it burst forth and issued from the womb; 9 When I made the clouds its garment, And thick darkness its swaddling band; 10 When I fixed My limit for it, And set bars and doors; 11 When I said, ‘This far you may come, but no farther, And here your proud waves must stop!’ 12 “Have you commanded the morning since your days began, And caused the dawn to know its place,

God is speaking to Job like any father would speak. Very often, we forget where we came from and who brought us to where we are. God promises believers longevity of life on the earth when they honour their parents.

God addresses the violation by His people through His prophet Malachi :

Malachi 1:6 “A son honors his father, And a servant his master.If then I am the Father, Where is My honor? And if I am a Master, Where is My reverence? Says the LORD of hosts to you priests who despise My name. Yet you say, ‘In what way have we despised Your name?’

All leadership and human resource management models within the Body of Christ needs to be inspired by the integrity within the Triune God in their representation. Remember the Triune God does not need His creation to exist; He expects His creation, specifically His family, to reveal Him and the entirety of His nature in their representation of Him. He needs His creation to accomplish His will on the earth. He is a Spirit and He has chosen to dwell in and among us as we have chosen Him as our place of habitation (Our Tabernacle)

O Deus Triuno é sacrossanto, o que significa que a união entre o Pai, o Filho e o Espírito é extremamente sagrada ou inviolável; o Deus Triuno é soberano, o que significa que Ele faz exatamente o que Lhe agrada. O vento sopra onde deseja.

O status Divino do Deus Triuno proíbe qualquer forma de violação; é imune à destruição, violência, violação, profanação, profanação ou blasfêmia.

Ao estudar os atributos do Deus Triuno, podemos ter apenas um vislumbre de quem Ele é. A vastidão e as complexidades de Deus são impossíveis de compreender.

Devemos conhecer o Deus Triuno pelo nome de Elohim – plural; é um de força ou poder de efeito. Elohim é o Deus infinito e todo-poderoso que mostra por Suas obras que Ele é o Criador, sustentador e juiz supremo do mundo.

Às vezes, Deus tem que falar de um turbilhão para trazer Seu povo à razão.

(Jó 38:1-3) Então o Senhor respondeu a Jó do meio da tempestade. Disse ele: “Quem é esse que obscurece o meu conselho com palavras sem conhecimento? Prepare-se como simples homem; vou fazer-lhe perguntas, e você me responderá.

O Espírito do Deus Vivo estava ouvindo silenciosamente as conversas entre Jó e seus três amigos; a todas as suas teorias e perspectivas sobre a situação atual de Jó. Jó não tinha ideia do experimento que Deus fez com Satanás a respeito dele, de sua família e de seus bens. Jó não tinha ideia de que Deus acreditava que não havia ninguém como ele na terra, um homem íntegro e justo, que teme a Deus e evita o mal.

Deus diz que as palavras que Ele tem ouvido são palavras sem conhecimento. Deus ouve cada palavra que falamos, especialmente aquelas palavras que trazem descrédito à Sua fidelidade à Sua Palavra

Miriã e Aarão descobriram esta verdade quando desafiaram, desprezaram e desacreditaram a liderança e autoridade de Moisés.

(Números 12:2) “Será que o Senhor tem falado apenas por meio de Moisés? “, perguntaram. “Também não tem ele falado por meio de nós? ” E o Senhor ouviu isso.

No versículo 8, Deus pergunta a Miriã e Arão: “Por que então vocês não tiveram medo de falar contra o meu servo Moisés?”

Deus está falando com Jó como qualquer pai falaria. Muitas vezes esquecemos de onde viemos e quem nos trouxe até onde estamos. Deus promete aos crentes longevidade de vida na terra quando eles honram seus pais.

Deus aborda essa violação com Seu povo por meio de Seu profeta Malaquias:

(Malaquias 1:6) “O filho honra seu pai, e o servo o seu senhor. Se eu sou pai, onde está a honra que me é devida? The prophet Isaiah was called by God in a cataclysmic demonstration of the literal awesome majesty and splendour of His Presence.

This Divine visitation caused a total meltdown in Isaiah and caused him to do an instant introspection of his spiritual condition and pronounce his own uncleanness and the uncleanness of the people among whom he dwelt.

Isaiah made a significant prophesy that is noteworthy : that before the manifestation of Christ and His Kingdom on the earth, God will judge the idolatry and apostasy of His people, and that He would allow the Assyrians as His chosen instrument to inflict His judgement upon them in order to bring His people back to Him; just as He allowed the Medianites to torment His people.

Even as we are presently declaring the protocols of the Kingdom of God and we earnestly seek the manifestation of a Kingdom culture – the scriptures declare that God will engage in a purging of foreign ideologies and technologies that are counter productive to the manifestation of a culture that emerges from the Word of God.

Like with the prophet Jeremiah, there has to be a rooting out and a pulling down, a destruction and throwing down of patterns that present a barrier to the manifestation of a Godly culture.

Isaiah 7:13 Then he said, “Hear now, O house of David! Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will you weary my God also? 14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. 15 Curds and honey He shall eat, that He may know to refuse the evil and choose the good. 16 For before the Child shall know to refuse the evil and choose the good, the land that you dread will be forsaken by both her kings. 17 The LORD will bring the king of Assyria upon you and your people and your father’s house—days that have not come since the day that Ephraim departed from Judah.”

Isaiah 10:1111 As I have done to Samaria and her idols, Shall I not do also to Jerusalem and her idols?’ ”

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE

Although the Assyrians were the “chosen instrument by God to discipline and punish His apostate people, the Assyrians must not forget that God will judge the excesses of the arrogance and the brutality of the Assyrian regime. The fruit of the arrogance of the Assyrian heart is public bullying, scorning, mocking, insulting, threatening, ridicule and the humiliation of God’s people (2 Kings 18:19-35)

Isaiah was clear when he declared this :

Isaiah 10:12 Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Lord has performed all His work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, that He will say, “I will punish the fruit of the arrogant heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his haughty looks.”

When God’s people are subject to brutal and humiliating treatment, do not expect God to remain silent; more importantly, do not expect His spokesman Isaiah to remain silent.

Isaiah was God’s chosen conduit to carry instructions to God’s people at that point in history.

We must firstly understand the nature of God’s covenant with His people. God dwells in and among His people. Believers are required to worship Him and obey the laws and commands that He has given us through His Word. The benefits of remaining faithful to this covenant would include among others, security, peace and prosperity. God is committed to maintaining the integrity of His side of the covenant.

Listen to the lamentation of Isaiah concerning the state of the relationship between the people and God :

Isaiah 24:5 The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants, Because they have transgressed the laws, Changed the ordinance, Broken the everlasting covenant. 6 Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, And those who dwell in it are desolate. Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, And few men are left.

The Assyrians, having conquered Israel and the outlying fortified cities of Judah, are now positioned at the door of Judah. This situation is the consequence of being unfaithful in keeping Divine agreements and the Law.

Instead of repentance and turning their hearts from their wicked ways back to the demands of the Word of God, the people of God sought alternative alliances, not sanctioned by God, as places of refuge.

In doing this God’s people are guilty of allowing the leaven of foreign alternative ideologies to infiltrate the culture of God’s people. Remember that the Assyrian people and their kings have an unshakeable covenant with their god Assur, the god of war. * I strongly recommend a study of the worship of this god Assur

Although we determined that God was the One responsible for allowing the Assyrian invasion, the Assyrians must be very careful not to push God’s people beyond their ability to endure. God’s testings, when lessons are learned, are always followed by reconciliation and restoration. The Assyrians do not know this. They are oblivious to the fact that it is the God of Israel who is the architect of this invasion.

Please understand that when we refer to God’s laws, we refer to God’s Word

Isaiah prophesied ……. For out of Zion shall go forth the law, And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Obedience to God’s laws attracts His Divine protection. Also concerning the natural, Paul would say that rulers are not a terror to good works. Recently during the civil unrest, at the height of all the looting and violence and murders, the people were demanding law and order; they demanded urgent and immediate police and military intervention.

We should not clamor for Law and order only during crises; it must be factored into our culture; in fact the Word of God (Jesus) must be the firm foundation of our culture.

We see current events unfold in Afghanistan where the country has been captured by the Taliban. After the terrorist attacks against the US in 9/11, the government of Afghanistan and its infrastructure was provided security by NATO troops and the Allied Forces. When the foreign governments entered into agreements to withdraw their troops in May this year, the security of the nation was compromised and the beleaguered nation became vulnerable to a take over.

The absence of our adherence to laws, commands, statutes and ordinances will also place God’s people in a position of great vulnerability.

These principles apply to anything we may be building. Careers, family, ministry, business, etc. Isaiah lamented that there are a “few men left”. This is representative of the remnant of God’s people who, whilst functioning in the midst of an “uncleanness/worldly culture”, they choose to steadfastly be wholly reliant and dependant on God and His Word for their survival because their lips have been touched by a “burning coal” that has removed their iniquities and purged their sins.

The “few men” that Isaiah speaks about have today grown into a first fruit company.

A obediência às leis de Deus atrai Sua proteção divina. Também com relação ao natural, Paulo diria que os governantes não são um terror para as boas obras. Recentemente, durante a agitação civil, no auge de todos os saques, violência e assassinatos, o povo exigia lei e ordem; exigiam intervenção policial e militar urgente e imediata.

Não devemos clamar por Lei e ordem apenas durante as crises; deve ser considerado em nossa cultura; na verdade, a Palavra de Deus (Jesus) deve ser o alicerce firme de nossa cultura.

Vemos eventos atuais se desenrolando no Afeganistão, onde o país foi capturado pelo Talibã. Após os ataques terroristas contra os EUA em 11 de setembro, o governo do Afeganistão e sua infraestrutura receberam segurança das tropas da OTAN e das Forças Aliadas. Quando os governos estrangeiros firmaram acordos para retirar suas tropas em maio deste ano, a segurança da nação foi comprometida e a nação sitiada tornou-se vulnerável a uma tomada de controle.

A ausência de nossa adesão às leis, mandamentos, estatutos e ordenanças também colocará o povo de Deus em uma posição de grande vulnerabilidade.

When the body of believers is spiritually seated in an elevated position with Christ – this spiritual location is far above principalities and powers, might and dominion, and every name that is named.

The challenge to His church is to manifest practically this position on the earth – There is a demand from the heavens on His Body of believers on the earth to vociferously resist the spirits that Christ has already placed under His feet. Leaders must continue to unapologetically teach the truth of God’s Word.

For this culture to emerge we must accept the need for vigorous discourse and dialogue where it will be profitable to accommodate the spirit of dissent.

Dissenting against an emerging counter culture that disregards the Word of God is NOT rebellion; dissenting against voices that bring into disrepute the believers’ salvation and redemption at the Cross is NOT rebellion; dissenting against an Assyrian dimension that seeks to subjugate the people of God into its vassals is NOT rebellion.

Isaiah was the prophetic voice, the voice of God to the people of God. When Judah experienced a major Assyrian invasion do not expect his voice to be silent. He is the spokesman for God to the people of God.

All the prophets and apostles of the Lord expressed their dissent against departure from the culture and Word of the Lord. Jesus Himself dissented regularly. Representatives of the Lord will not be at ease in an environment that does not reflect the culture of God. This is the cry of dissent at the heart of every reformation movement. Elijah cried out, John the Baptist cried out, Jesus cried out, Paul cried out.

We will briefly examine the issue regarding circumcision with Paul and Barnabas. The early church of the Lord Jesus Christ was clearly in transition. Certain men arrived from Judea to Antioch and began to teach from the Law of Moses.

“Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.

Acts 15:1 And certain men came down from Judea and taught the brethren, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.” 2 Therefore, when Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and dispute with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas and certain others of them should go up to Jerusalem, to the apostles and elders, about this question.

Paul and Barnabas expressed their dissent. They did not remain silent. They rejected the application of the Law concerning salvation that demanded circumcision.

The proponents and advocates of this law may have considered Paul and Barnabas to be violators and betrayers of the Law; they may have even been labelled as heretics and blasphemers. This dissension escalated this matter to Jerusalem for further deliberation.

At Jerusalem Peter testified how the Gentiles received the baptism of the Holy Spirit through the confession of their faith in the Lord. The Lord had purified the hearts of the Gentiles by faith.

James then brought into remembrance the words from the prophetic utterances of Amos, Jeremiah and Isaiah ……

Acts 15:17 So that the rest of mankind may seek the LORD, Even all the Gentiles who are called by My name, Says the LORD who does all these things.’

Amos 9:12 That they may possess the remnant of Edom, And all the Gentiles who are called by My name,” Says the LORD who does this thing.

After the vigorous discourse with the apostles, the issue was resolved.

Acts 15:30 So when they were sent off, they came to Antioch; and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the letter. 31 When they had read it, they rejoiced over its encouragement. 32 Now Judas and Silas, themselves being prophets also, exhorted and strengthened the brethren with many words. 33 And after they had stayed there for a time, they were sent back with greetings from the brethren to the apostles.

Dissent for the sake of the integrity of the gospel should not be despised. There was great rejoicing in the midst of the multitude.

Paul would declare to the Ephesians:

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

So let us not despise the dissenting voice. It has the potential to bring adjustment to our perspective.

Believers need to dissent against the Assyrian dimension to bring this system under the feet of the Body of Christ on the earth. The boast of the Assyrian principality has to be neutralised

This adversary erodes the confidence and faith of the people of God. The Assyrian blasphemes and profanes the God of Hezekiah, and also brings into disrepute the leadership of Hezekiah

The Assyrian dimension mocks the faith of God’s people who declare :

“The Lord will deliver us”

In these uncertain times that we live in, the believer’s hope is in the Lord. These times can best be described in the message Hezekiah sent to Isaiah ……

‘This day is a day of trouble, and rebuke, and blasphemy; for the children have come to birth, but there is no strength to bring them forth”

2 Kings 18:32 …….. But do not listen to Hezekiah, lest he persuade you, saying, “The LORD will deliver us.” 33 Has any of the gods of the nations at all delivered its land from the hand of the king of Assyria? 34 Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim and Hena and Ivah? Indeed, have they delivered Samaria from my hand? 35 Who among all the gods of the lands have delivered their countries from my hand, that the LORD should deliver Jerusalem from my hand?’ ”

This the the strategy of the Assyrian dimension against the remnant of God’s people. The northern tribes may have succumbed to the military might of the Assyrians; the fortified cities of Judah may have been captured; but Jerusalem has the oracle of God, the Temple, the Word of God in the mouth of His servant.

The Body of Christ, which represents the present day Temple, has the Word of God dwelling near and richly in it. It would be tragic to confuse the God of this Body, this present day Temple, with the gods of Hamath, Arpad, Sepharvaim, Hena and Ivah.

Quando o corpo de crentes está espiritualmente sentado em uma posição elevada com Cristo – esta localização espiritual está muito acima dos principados e potestades, poder e domínio, e todo nome que é nomeado.

O desafio para Sua igreja é manifestar de forma prática esta posição na terra – há uma demanda dos céus em Seu corpo de crentes na terra para resistir ferozmente aos espíritos que Cristo já colocou sob Seus pés. Os líderes devem continuar a ensinar sem remorso a verdade da Palavra de Deus.

Para que essa cultura surja, devemos aceitar a necessidade de um discurso e diálogo vigorosos, onde seja proveitoso acomodar o espírito de dissidência.

Discordar contra uma contracultura emergente que desconsidera a Palavra de Deus NÃO é rebelião; discordar contra vozes que trazem descrédito à salvação e redenção dos crentes na Cruz NÃO é rebelião; discordar contra uma dimensão assíria que busca subjugar o povo de Deus aos seus vassalos NÃO é rebelião.

Isaías era a voz profética, a voz de Deus para o povo de Deus. Quando Judá experimentou uma grande invasão assíria, não espere que sua voz se cale. Ele é o porta-voz de Deus para o povo de Deus.

Todos os profetas e apóstolos do Senhor expressaram sua dissidência contra o afastamento da cultura e da Palavra do Senhor. O próprio Jesus discordava regularmente. Os representantes do Senhor não ficarão à vontade em um ambiente que não reflita a cultura de Deus. Este é o clamor de dissidência no centro de todo movimento de reforma. Elias clamou, João Batista clamou, Jesus clamou, Paulo clamou.

Os crentes precisam discordar da dimensão assíria para trazer este sistema sob os pés do Corpo de Cristo na terra. O orgulho do principado assírio deve ser neutralizado.

Esse adversário corrói a confiança e a fé do povo de Deus. O assírio blasfema e profana o Deus de Ezequias, e também traz descrédito à liderança de Ezequias.

A dimensão assíria zomba da fé do povo de Deus que declara:

“O Senhor nos livrará”

Onde estão os deuses de Hamate e de Arpade? Onde estão os deuses de Sefarvaim, Hena e Iva? Acaso livraram Samaria das minhas mãos? Qual dentre todos os deuses dessas nações conseguiu livrar sua terra do meu poder? Como então o Senhor poderá livrar Jerusalém das minhas mãos”

Esta é a estratégia da dimensão assíria contra o remanescente do povo de Deus. As tribos do norte podem ter sucumbido ao poderio militar dos assírios; as cidades fortificadas de Judá podem ter sido capturadas; mas Jerusalém tem o oráculo de Deus, o Templo, a Palavra de Deus na boca de Seu servo.

O Corpo de Cristo, que representa o Templo atual, tem a Palavra de Deus habitando perto e ricamente nele. Seria trágico confundir o Deus deste Corpo, deste Templo atual, com os deuses de Hamath, Arpad, Sefarvaim, Hena e Ivah.

Before I go into the my subject, I would like to share my perspective on this past week’s manifestation of lawlessness in our nation.

DISCLAIMER I would like to state clearly and unambiguously that I do not consider myself to have already attained, apprehended or perfected. However, I am fully committed to the process of pressing on and progressive evolution that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.

Last Sunday we spoke about the unique culture of God’s people, which is an outcome that emerges from the practice of the four disciplines that were steadfastly followed by the early church. Cultural identity is central to a person’s identity.

This week we witnessed widespread destruction, looting and burning of stores and key supply facilities. We have been speaking on lawlessness and the evil principality in recent weeks. Blatant violations and brazen criminal activities in full public view is an indictment against the struggle for our hard fought emancipation; those who have lived during the apartheid years will understand this.

We are grateful to God for the various Community Forums and Law Enforcement agencies that have collaborated to protect the citizens, staying awake through the night, voluntarily positioning themselves in harm’s way. We are also grateful to all the food and other provisions from various organisations during this difficult time. Our hearts are overwhelmed with gratitude. The Lord sees your labour snd sacrifice of love.

The definition of righteousness (doing that which is right in the eyes of the Lord) cannot be sacrificed at the altar of political expedience.

We will now go to my main subject which relates to believers being watchful and alert concerning the hybridization of our culture.

Culture should inform us that when we have been baptised into Christ and owned by CHRIST there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female. Every born again believer, who has made Christ his tabernacle, has been delivered from all forms of discrimination. Because Christ is our place of habitation we know no man after the flesh.

Culture informs us not to rob, kill and destroy.

ONENESS within the Body of Christ is only possible when believers are embedded in a common culture

We will use as our primary reference, a careful examination of the Assyrian military invasion to conquer and bring under subjugation the nations in the ancient Middle East

Very often nations would enter into alliances with other nations to strengthen their military might and infrastructure, trading purposes, skills/technology development, joint operations in engaging a common enemy etc. This ancient practice in collaboration continues to this present day.

However, these alliances have to be sanctioned by God. God’s displeasure in the conduct of His people is revealed through the utterances of His prophet Hosea.

Hosea 7:8 “Ephraim has mixed himself among the peoples; Ephraim is a cake unturned. 9 Aliens have devoured his strength, But he does not know it; Yes, gray hairs are here and there on him, Yet he does not know it. 10 And the pride of Israel testifies to his face, But they do not return to the LORD their God, Nor seek Him for all this. 11 “Ephraim also is like a silly dove, without sense— They call to Egypt, They go to Assyria.

In times of desperation and distress, believers and leaders often adopt the most convenient exit strategy that appears as a safety net against the approaching dangers. Yet God descibes His beloved people as “a cake that not turned” and a “silly dove” without any sense. In this session we will investigate these descriptions in an attempt to fathom the mind of God concerning His people.

AN UNTURNED CAKE

An unturned cake is totally burnt on the one side, because of a lack of responsible oversight. The other side is raw; uncultured; undone. No part of this cake is fit for consumption.

An unturned cake is symbolic of unbalanced revelation. Here are some examples of two sides of the same cake :

Jesus is Son of Man and Son of God

God is love; God is also a consuming fire

The Word of the Lord is spirit and Life (John 6:63)

The Word of the Lord is also like a fire and a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces (Jeremiah 23:29)

The goodness of God (His love). The severity of God (His wrath) (Romans 11:22)

The Lord who confesses you before the Father, is the same Lord who is able to deny you before the Father

Matthew 10:32 “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.

Disciples of the Lord must be wise as serpents and gentle as doves

All these examples represent the same cake that requires careful attention and oversight. A responsible, skilful snd God fearing teacher will not neglect to teach both sides of the same cake. This is not vacillating; it is careful handling of the truth.

When we have steadfastly trusted God, and we find ourselves like Elijah alone under a juniper tree, God will send us an angel to bake a cake that will strengthen us and the angel will disclose the full names of our collaborators for our victory. The helpers that God names to help Elijah represent a “properly baked cake” that pleases God. These are not “unturned cakes”

Silence may be the indication that we may be sitting under a tree that God has not sanctioned. We will not receive strength and nourishment from eating that which is inedible.

All believers must submit to the Word of the Lord in humility that would provide us with the necessary oversight. (to turn the cake over)

A SILLY DOVE WITHOUT SENSE

This is harder to figure out; the very nature of a dove, which is a symbol of peace and the Holy Spirit, makes it difficult to associate it with silliness. Humility, Gentleness, Defenceless, Harmless yes! Most definitely!

Yet this is a metaphor used by the Lord that is both complimentary and it carries a strong censure of the conduct of His beloved people.

In fact “the silliness of Ephraim” is a manifestation of an “unturned cake”. The characteristic trait of harmlessness must collaborate with the trait of wisdom in an environment that has a significant wolf population.

Matthew 10:16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

The reality is that the harmless nature of the dove makes it vulnerable to the snare of the fowler and the majority of predators that share the habitat of the dove. When our doctrine does not address both demands, God will question our sense and sensibility.

It is outrageous to expect God to remain silent when His beloved people enter into alliances with Assyria and Egypt that represent the carnivorous “Wolf Pack”

Conversas na Estrada para Fullers Field – Parte Um

Antes de entrar no meu assunto, gostaria de compartilhar minha perspectiva sobre a manifestação de ilegalidade da semana passada em nossa nação.

AVISO GOSTARIA de afirmar de forma clara e inequívoca que não me considero já ter alcançado, apreendido ou aperfeiçoado. No entanto, estou totalmente comprometido com o processo de evolução contínua e progressiva para que eu possa me apossar daquele para o qual Cristo Jesus também me segurou.

No último domingo falamos sobre a cultura única do povo de Deus, que é um resultado que emerge da prática das quatro disciplinas que foram seguidas firmemente pela igreja primitiva. A identidade cultural é central para a identidade de uma pessoa.

Esta semana testemunhamos destruição generalizada, saques e queima de lojas e principais instalações de abastecimento. Temos falado sobre a ilegalidade e o principado maligno nas últimas semanas. Violações descaradas e atividades criminosas descaradas em plena vista pública é uma acusação contra a luta pela nossa dura emancipação; aqueles que viveram durante os anos do apartheid entenderão isso.

Somos gratos a Deus pelos vários Fóruns comunitários e agências de aplicação da lei que colaboraram para proteger os cidadãos, permanecendo acordados durante a noite, voluntariamente posicionando-se em perigo. Também somos gratos a todos os alimentos e outras disposições de várias organizações durante este momento difícil. Nossos corações estão cheios de gratidão. O Senhor vê seu trabalho e sacrifício de amor.

A definição de justiça (fazendo aqui no que está bem aos olhos do Senhor) não pode ser sacrificada no altar da conveniência política.

Vamos agora ao meu tema principal que diz respeito aos crentes estarem atentos e alertas sobre a hibridização de nossa cultura.

A cultura deve nos informar que quando fomos batizados em Cristo e pertencentes a CRISTO, não há nem judeu nem grego, escravo nem livre, masculino nem feminino. Todo crente renascido, que fez de Cristo seu tabernáculo, foi libertado de todas as formas de discriminação. Porque Cristo é nosso lugar de habitação, não conhecemos nenhum homem segundo a carne.

A UNICIDADE dentro do Corpo de Cristo só é possível quando os crentes estão incorporados em uma cultura comum.

Usaremos como nossa referência primária, um exame cuidadoso da invasão militar assíria para conquistar e trazer sob subjugação as nações no antigo Oriente Médio

Muitas vezes as nações entravam em alianças com outras nações para fortalecer seu poder militar e infraestrutura, propósitos comerciais, desenvolvimento de habilidades/tecnologia, operações conjuntas no engajamento de um inimigo comum etc. Essa prática antiga em colaboração continua até os dias atuais.

No entanto, essas alianças têm que ser sancionadas por Deus. O descontentamento de Deus na conduta do Seu povo é revelado através das declarações de Seu profeta Oséias.

Oséias 7:8-11 “Efraim mistura-se com as nações; Efraim é um bolo que não foi virado. Estrangeiros sugam sua força, mas ele não o percebe. A cinza espalha-se pelo seu cabelo, mas ele nem repara. A arrogância de Israel testifica contra ele, mas, apesar de tudo isso, ele não se volta para o Senhor, para o seu Deus, e não o busca. “Efraim é como uma pomba facilmente enganada e sem entendimento; uma hora apela para o Egito, outra hora se volta para a Assíria.

Em tempos de desespero e angústia, os crentes e líderes muitas vezes adotam a estratégia de saída mais conveniente que aparece como uma rede de segurança contra os perigos que se aproximam. No entanto, Deus diz ao seu amado povo como “um bolo que não virou” e uma “pomba facilmente enganada” sem qualquer sentido. Nesta sessão investigaremos essas descrições na tentativa de compreender a mente de Deus sobre seu povo.

UM BOLO NÃO VIRADO

Um bolo não virado é totalmente queimado de um lado, por falta de supervisão responsável. O outro lado é cru; inculto; por fazer. Nenhuma parte deste bolo é adequada para o consumo.

Um bolo sem volta é o símbolo de uma revelação desequilibrada. Aqui estão alguns exemplos de dois lados do mesmo bolo:

Jesus é Filho do Homem e Filho de Deus

Deus é amor; Deus também é um fogo que consome

A Palavra do Senhor é espírito e vida (João 6:63)

A Palavra do Senhor também é como um fogo e um martelo que quebra a rocha em pedaços (Jeremias 23:29)

A bondade de Deus (Seu amor). A gravidade de Deus (Sua ira) (Romanos 11:22)

O Senhor que o confessa diante do Pai é o mesmo Senhor que é capaz de negar-lhe diante do Pai

Mateus 10:32-33 “Quem, pois, me confessar diante dos homens, eu também o confessarei diante do meu Pai que está nos céus. Mas aquele que me negar diante dos homens, eu também o negarei diante do meu Pai que está nos céus.

Discípulos do Senhor devem ser sábios como serpentes e gentis como pombas

Todos esses exemplos representam o mesmo bolo que requer atenção e supervisão cuidadosas. Um professor responsável e hábil temente a Deus não vai deixar de ensinar ambos os lados do mesmo bolo. Isso não é hesitante; é o manuseio cuidadoso da verdade.

Quando confiamos firmemente em Deus, e nos encontramos como Elias sozinho sob um junípero, Deus nos enviará um anjo para fazer um bolo que nos fortalecerá e o anjo divulgará os nomes completos de nossos colaboradores para nossa vitória. Os ajudantes que Deus nomeia para ajudar Elias representam um “bolo devidamente assado” que agrada a Deus. Estes não são “bolos não virados”

O silêncio pode ser a indicação de que podemos estar sentados sob uma árvore que Deus não sancionou. Não receberemos força e nutrição por comer o que é comestível.

Todos os crentes devem submeter-se à Palavra do Senhor em humildade que nos forneceria a supervisão necessária. (para virar o bolo).

UMA POMBA BOBA SEM SENTIDO

Isso é mais difícil de entender; a própria natureza de uma pomba, que é um símbolo de paz e do Espírito Santo, torna difícil associá-la com tolices. Humildade, gentileza, indefeso, inofensivo sim! Com certeza!

No entanto, esta é uma metáfora usada pelo Senhor que é ao mesmo tempo de cortesia e carrega uma forte censura da conduta de Seu amado povo.

Na verdade, “a tolice de Efraim” é uma manifestação de um “bolo não virado”. O traço característico da inocuidade deve colaborar com o traço da sabedoria em um ambiente que tenha uma população de lobos significativa.

Mateus 10:16 Eu os estou enviando como ovelhas entre lobos. Portanto, sejam prudentes como as serpentes e simples como as pombas.

A realidade é que a natureza inofensiva da pomba a torna vulnerável à armadilha do caçador e à maioria dos predadores que compartilham o habitat da pomba. Quando nossa doutrina não atender a ambas as exigências, Deus questionará nosso senso e sensibilidade.

É ultrajante esperar que Deus permaneça em silêncio quando seu amado povo entrar em alianças com Assíria e Egito que representam a carnívora “Matilha de Lobos”.
