GOD IS SPEAKING TO KING/PRIESTS : HUMBLE YOURSELVES
2 Chron 7:11-16
11 When Solomon had finished the temple of the LORD and the royal palace, and had succeeded in carrying out all he had in mind to do in the temple of the LORD and in his own palace, 12 the LORD appeared to him at night and said:
“I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices.
13 “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. 16 I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.
After all the structures are in place, the temple is built, the consecration is complete….all this is man’s efforts;
Anyone who has money can build a Church. This does not mean that God will move in that place or that God will visit that place; even if you have a red cross on the building…this is simply to inform the passers by that this is a Church where people gather. All the outward signs are for identification by society.
This building has to be a dwelling place for believers who are called by His Name; those who trust in Him for all things.
A spirit of humility is required before you can even pray.
If you carefully study this scripture, you will notice how God outlines the protocols for breaking the back of a recession; breaking the curse of a financial drought.
“ ……will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways…..”
He prioritises humbling yourself above prayer.
There is so much logic in this.
It is impossible for man to turn from his wicked ways unless he humbles himself, prays, seeks his face.
This is the reason we are caught up in a financial drought.
Not because we don’t pray …..all of us pray
Not because we do not seek His face ….. we experience powerful times in His Presence
WE ARE IN A FAMINE BECAUSE OF A REFUSAL TO HUMBLE OURSELVES
This is what we call an entry level demand.
God resists the proud but He gives grace to the humble.
God is speaking powerfully to the kings and priests who walk in pride and arrogance in this season :
“HUMBLE YOURSELF UNDER GOD’S MIGHTY HAND”
(before He humbles us)
King Solomon was wiser than Einstein; wealthier than Bill Gates. Yet God showed Himself to be no respecter of persons.
If we want our breakthrough and experience dominion, the primary demand is for us to humble ourselves.
Dear Pastor Roy
Thank you for this revealing word. Its also amazing how one sometimes rushes into prayer to be in His presence without really humbling ourselves first. As His children we have this eagerness to engage with Him and yet we become despondent so quickly when what we have asked for seem not to come to pass and we cannot understand why.
God’s word is true as He already knows what my end is from the beginning, the plans He has for me. He knows all that we might need for spiritual growth, the right relationships at the right time. Yet we forget that all He wants in return is for us to humble ourselves in His presence, and pray and seek His face…
Be blessed.
