THE DEMAND FOR PURITY IN DIVINE WISDOM

James 3:17
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

There are two words that are absolutely critical to our understanding of Divine wisdom. The apostle James uses both these words in bringing greater clarity and definition to the aspect of wisdom from “above”. The Body is weary of failed methods and strategies that developed from wisdom from “below” or natural intelligence.

The words that James uses are “first” and “then”
The first demand is purity.
The Hebrew word ” hagnos” means freedom from defilement and impurities. We all are acutely aware that this refers to a whole range of leaven that contaminates and estranges the heart of man from God.

When Jesus visited the synagogue, He “first” encountered serious contamination. He did not care to evaluate all the good works of the synagogue. The synagogue must have had wonderful programs, evangelistic meetings, regular conferences, bible study programme etc.
Yet Jesus saw none of this.
He saw the “first” thing….. A den of thieves.
Failure in the first demand disqualified the administration and the activities of the entire movement.

When Paul brings greater clarity and definition to the word “love”, we see the same principle at work in this scripture…
1 Corinthians 13:4-6
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;

Love does many wonderful things…..however in Verse 6. It is incapable of rejoicing in iniquity ….Love rejoices in the truth

As we stand before this veil, that would preclude us from entering in, let us freely and confidently accept the person of TRUTH himself into our lives…the Lord Jesus Christ, who is our peace!
Ephesians 2:14-18
14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, 15 having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, 16 and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. 17 And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. 18 For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

SWEETER THAN HONEY

THE PROPHETIC VOICE …. THE ” TROUBLER” OF ISRAEL

1 Kings 18:17-18
Then it happened, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said to him, “ Is that you, O troubler of Israel?”
18 And he answered, “I have not troubled Israel, but you and your father’s house have, in that you have forsaken the commandments of the Lord and have followed the Baals.

THE JUDGEMENTS OF THE LORD …. SWEETER THAN HONEY

Psalms 19:7-10
The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;
8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;
9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold,
Yea, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

There is a clear difference in the way David perceived and received the Word of the Lord, and the way the house of Ahab, under the rulership of his wife Jezebel,received proceeding the  Word of the Lord.
The household of Ahab will always receive the proceeding Word from the Lord spoken through His prophet Elijah as trouble. The question to be asked this day is this:   How do we receive a proceeding Word from God?
Is it from God if it supports our erroneous ways?
The pivotal purpose of the Word of the Lord is to provide illumination so that we may not stray from God’s plans and purposes for our lives.

Psalms 119:105.  Your word is a lamp to my feet  And a light to my path.

This means if we walk in error, there will be  a proceeding Word from God to bring adjustment to our walk. We should not interpret this as “trouble”. Despising the proceeding word of the Lord will delay us in accomplishing our assignment. The authenticity of a proceeding Word of the Lord is not validated by the level of excitement experienced by the hearer.

David, on the other hand, loved the truth of the “entirety of the Word of God”. Whether it corrects, instructs,rebukes, encourages or refreshes it is “altogether” good and wholesome. David considers the Word of God more desirable that fine gold…that all the riches this world has to offer.
Allow His Word to renew our mind to  celebrate the Word of the Lord.

Philippians 4:10-13
10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last your care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity. 11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content:
12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Our lives are constantly challenged by daily trials. So often we would simply quote, to encourage ourselves, the scripture:
” I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”

Yet we remain in a continual state of defeat. This is not the will of God for our lives. We are expected to remain confident in our Saviour and Redeemer ….this is a clear sign of where we are spiritually located.
It is in Him that we live and move and have our being.

It is this position that activates an impartation of strength. All of our “doings” must be “through Christ”…..Unless the Lord builds the house…understand?
We may be squandering valuable resources investing in systems and structures that are not sustainable over a period of time. The Lord must be a central consideration in all our plans and strategies.

Be prepared to suffer for the sake of the Kingdom. Be prepared to be abased…to be made low…to be humbled….to be made to feel that you are nothing, your grace will be despised, you will be scorned and ridiculed….learn the skill of being content in all situations. This is an acquired skill. We have to learn it. Remain rooted and planted in Christ. The enemy cannot touch you.

It is only when we have mastered the ability to sing songs of joy and praise in times of intense persecution will we be in a position to declare….
” I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”

COVETOUSNESS IS IDOLATRY

COVETOUSNESS IS IDOLATRY

COLOSSIANS 3:5-6: “Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: … passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience”

EPHESIANS 5:5: ” For this you know, that no … covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God

What does the word  “covet” mean?
The Hebrew word “hamad”  meaning to take pleasure in, to desire, to lust, to covet,  to desire passionately.

We see from the writings of Paul that coveting is equal to being idolatrous. This practice must be put to death. The thinking here is that one’s inordinate desire and passion to possess that which belongs to another will become a major distraction in your life; that thing that one covets becomes the idol and the passion of ones life. This is declared to be sinful. The tenth Commandment establishes covetousness to be a sinful practice. The thing that one covets becomes a god in one’s life and ultimately the driving force and motivation.
The prophet Micah declares disastrous consequences to the one who would make a career out of coveting:

Micah 2:1-3
1 Woe to those who devise iniquity, And work out evil on their beds!
At morning light they practice it, Because it is in the power of their hand.
2 They covet fields and take them by violence, Also houses, and seize them.
So they oppress a man and his house, A man and his inheritance.
3 Therefore thus says the Lord: “Behold, against this family I am devising disaster, From which you cannot remove your necks;
Nor shall you walk haughtily, For this is an evil time.

We know about the covetous nature of the Ahab/Jezebel mentality that demonstrated no respect for the vineyard of their neighbor Naboth whose family worked the field for generations….this was an inheritance from his father.
Ahab’s only concern was to extend his field by appropriating the property which brought joy to the household of Naboth’s family for generations. But how would you expect Ahab to concern himself with this?
He is covetous and idolatrous by nature.
The matter did not stop there.
He engaged his wife Jezebel to do his evil work. They truly suited one another perfectly.

To all my sons, find your field, and work your field. Do not covet anything that belongs to another brother. Be faithful in what God has called you to do and God will bless you. Amen. Love and peace.

2012

OUR JOURNEY

Well 2011 is now history. I believe that we faced many challenges in 2011 and we have learned some invaluable lessons.We are now much stronger as a global household as we enter 2012. We have a credible, proven and tested leadership structure in Brazil with the appointment of Marcelo and Elisangela Sant’anna as overseers of the various households of faith in Brazil.Spiritual foresight has to work in partnership with strong leadership.
The word of the Lord to Joshua, upon the death of Moses is applicable to all generations:
Josh 1:8-9
8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
NKJV

The two commands are
* Continual dependance and meditation on God’s Word
* Be strong and courageous
The first instruction would lead us to have a spiritual advantage over our adversaries; where through meditating on the Word of God, we are led by the Spirit of God as sons of God; the second refers to mental fortitude that would cause us to demonstrate strength in our leadership. We have to demonstrate great courage in pushing forward with tough decisions that would bring our people into their place of promise….Christ!

He is the Heavenly Father, the King over all the lesser kings and demagogues of this fallen and falling world and its systems. He is looking for His family. As His leadership we have to prepare His family …. train and equip until the Christ can see Himself in His Family. When Christ looks at His church it must be like Him looking into a mirror….where he sees a likeness of Himself.

As we continue on our journey in 2012, focus is everything. Keep your eyes on Him, the author and the finisher of our faith.Do not be distracted by the storm that is raging all around you, by the waves that are buffeting the vessel, winds that seem life threatening….remember the two commands that come with a promise.

Josh 1:9
Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
NKJV

The Lord bless you, your families and your ministries in 2012 and may the peace of God that defies human understanding overwhelm you.

9 Não to mandei eu?

* Dependência contínua e meditação na Palavra de Deus
* Seja forte e corajoso

1 Kings 19:20-21
20 And he left the oxen and ran after Elijah, and said, “Please let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.”
And he said to him, “Go back again, for what have I done to you?”
21 So Elisha turned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen and slaughtered them and boiled their flesh, using the oxen’s equipment, and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he arose and followed Elijah, and became his servant.

Elisha had no idea whatsoever that his life would change forever. The day must have started off like any other day in his week. He was in the field, plowing the ground with his oxen.
Elijah was under Divine instruction to anoint Elisha as the prophet.
All Elijah did was to throw the mantle upon Elisha. the responsibility was now Elisha’s to pursue Elijah. Elijah did not offer Elisha any incentives to follow him…no preaching
opportunities, no material gifts, no silver, no gold. Elisha was now under observation by Elijah.
It is important for those who interact with the apostolic/prophetic to realize that those who the Lord leads to connect with us receive grace as they leave and cleave, as they draw near to us, grace is released into their lives.
Once Elisha discerned the grace upon Elijah’s life, he quickly dealt with his domestic business and became Elijah’s servant. Even Elijah may not have fully understood the magnetic attraction of grace because he asked Elisha “What did I do to you”. The truth is that Elijah really had no clue. Grace is able to draw to us those who the Lord has commissioned to help us in our assignment.To those sons who have discerned grace upon your leader, do not waste a single moment,just leave and connect and become a servant.

BRASIL — NOVEMBER 2011

PS MARCELO, AGATHA AND ELISANGELA SANT'ANNA

This trip has been an emotional rollercoaster that began with great tragedy. However, even through this difficult time, we have seen the hand of God upon our sons Marcelo and Elisangela Sant’anna and their household of faith.The tragic loss of their only son Luan, a young man serving the Lord in the Music Team was difficult to come to terms with…I spent a few days living with them and we mourned our loss together. They are being strengthened daily by the ministry of the Holy Spirit through prayer and Words of encouragement.I thank God that I allowed myself to be led here by His Spirit at such a time like this.

My time spent with my sons was very profitable. I continued to teach the doctrine of the apostles as well as discussing the various protocols concerning the 2012 Apostolic Conference in Brasil. There is much excitement and joy amongst the believers as they wait in great anticipation and expectation.

My trip ended in the city of Itaguai where I was invited to address thousands of inhabitants who marched for 3km to the open city square where there was a great celebration of praise and worship to the Lord. It was a great honour to address the people. The event was broadcast live on radio. I thank God that our message was received with great joy!

Blessed is the man

Planted by the waters

Rom 11:17-21
17 And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, 18 do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you. 19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.” 20 Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either.

Although this scripture refers primarily to the grace extended to the Gentiles I can see a powerful principle at work here that reflects the demand for appreciation of grace. We are all beneficiaries and recipients of grace that is imparted by grace carriers who have been installed in our lives by a loving Heavenly Father.
As we grow and evolve in the Kingdom to greater levels of stature and influence let us not forget the presence of the ROOT. Let us also not forget that we were once wild olive shoots, unrestrained, running wild, aimlessly without focus or purpose….but we have been grafted in by the grace of God! How he loves us and cares about our welfare. Hallelujah!
This is the reason we ought to be always appreciative of the ROOT. That which searches the ground for water and nourishment and draws the same back into the heart of the tree of grace that freely supplies the branches causing us to be strengthened and grow into our potential. Do not despise those who the Lord uses to bring resource to you. Do not boast. Do not think for a moment that you can survive independently from the root. For it is the root that supports you. In terms of our present understanding the root is the carrier of grace.
The apostle Paul understood this principle perfectly when he declared:
1 Cor 15:9-10
9 For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

So to all who may be reading this, humble yourselves under His Mighty Hand and allow Him to exalt you. He will elevate you to places that you have never dreamed of….in all our personal advancement do not lose sight of the ROOT….the essential cause of anything! The Lord bless you.

PORTUGUESE TRANSLATION
Rom 11:17-21
