The first part of my presentation, we will validate the symbols that are foundational to our understanding of this message. All the utterances come from Isaiah. 

Isaiah 11:1 A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit

Isaiah 6:13
“And though a tenth remain in it, it will be burned again, like a terebinth or an oak, whose stump remains when it is felled. But the holy seed is its stump.” 

Isaiah 11:10 “And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse, Who shall stand as a banner to the people; For the Gentiles shall seek Him, And His resting place shall be glorious.”

We will firstly examine both these words “stump” and “root”. When we talk about being “rooted” it infers strength and stability in our foundations; that we are able to bend without breaking; supporting us is a “root system” that is continually searching for water and nutrients. Being rooted speaks about being built on faith in God and in His Word. Faith is built by hearing the Word of God.

Let us examine the words of John. He refers to the Word of God being eternal

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it

John speaks with great clarity that leaves no room for any speculation or discussion that the Word and Christ Jesus are the same. Christ Jesus, the Word of God, was with God from the beginning. All created things were created through Him. He is the ROOT OF JESSE that Isaiah prophesied about. 

In the Parable of the Sower, Jesus declares …..

Matthew 13:6 But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away

The stump of Jesse that Isaiah is talking about has roots. On the surface, it may appear to be dry, withered, without life after almost  600 years marking the end of the monarchy of David and his sons and the Kingdom of Judah In spite of this negative imagery; we thank God that the STUMP IS ROOTED. Our confidence is in the Root.

Paul is addressing the Gentile believers in Rome with this humbling and sobering reality that they do not support the Root but that the Root supports them; he reminds them of their migration from their former “wild” nature to become partakers of the “root and the fatness” of the olive tree.

Romans 11:17 And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, 18 do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.

The prophet Isaiah lived in a different time period from Jesse. Isaiah lived in the 8th century. Jesse lived in the 10th century. One marvels that a human vessel would speak for God with such precise, pin point accuracy. Isaiah received what we would refer to as “Divine classified intelligence/Divine revelation” that points towards a coming, future leadership (Christ) that would become a revelation of the Word of God. This intelligence (revelation) is clearly not sourced from the realm of “flesh and blood”

We will examine the devastation of Jerusalem after the Babylonian assault and the captivity of God’s people in Babylon

Zerubbabel led the first group of exiles 538 BC. He focused on rebuilding the Temple. The name Zerubbabel, means  “seed of Babylon”. He was born in Babylon. He focussed on the rebuilding of the Temple and the altar of burnt offering and to reestablish the sacrificial system. He led the people of God to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. He was responsible for the re dedication of the people back to God restoring communal and religious life.

Ezra returned with his group in 457 BC, over 80 years after Zerubbabel. Ezra’s mission was to reintegrate the people with the laws of God and to stir up the people to embrace reform in Jerusalem

Ezra 7:10 For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel.

Nehemiah came almost 13 years after Ezra. He focussed on the rebuilding of the city walls. He led process of construction which was completed in 52 days. It was Ezra who reconnected the people to the Laws of God. It was Ezra who was tasked to established a judiciary that would use the Word of God as its reference to make righteous judgements. Between these three leaders, we see that there were specific burdens that each one carried. There cannot be an indefinite timeline in building the infrastructure. Nehemiah finished his constructive and repair work in 52 days. Zerubbabel finished the construction of the Temple inside 7 years

Ezra 7:10 For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel

The work of Ezra is never complete; this represents spiritual formation in the believer through the ministry of the Word (Ephesians 4:13). Ezra resolved in his heart to ROOT the people of God in the Word of God

70 years had passed in exile – Almost a generation has been forcibly alienated from their culture; the challenge that the exiles faced was to embrace the process of REINTEGRATION
This must become a top priority even in this present day. In these perilous times, there are many distractions. The priority for the exiles was to reconnect to the Word of God and the culture of the people of God.

The cannot be a restoration of culture for the people of God outside the Word of God. Ezra rekindled their passion for the commands and ordinances of God. Establishing the natural infrastructure alone, although very necessary,  is not going to turn the hearts of the people back to God.

THE WORD OF GOD IS SEED

God’s Word is often referred to as a seed because of its inherent transformative power and the potential it carries for spiritual enlightenment and formation. Therefore it is described as being “Living and Powerful”

MIXTURE OF THE HOLY SEED

Let us study the report that was brought to Ezra by the leaders

Ezra 9:1 When these things were done, the leaders came to me, saying, “The people of Israel and the priests and the Levites have not separated themselves from the peoples of the lands, with respect to the abominations of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites. 2 For they have taken some of their daughters as wives for themselves and their sons, so that the holy seed is mixed with the peoples of those lands. Indeed, the hand of the leaders and rulers has been foremost in this trespass.” 3 So when I heard this thing, I tore my garment and my robe, and plucked out some of the hair of my head and beard, and sat down astonished. 4 Then everyone who trembled at the words of the God of Israel assembled to me, because of the transgression of those who had been carried away captive, and I sat astonished until the evening sacrifice.

A lengthy, uncertain period in exile can have this effect on people. This is the effect of the exile in Babylon on the seed. There is no root. In exile, away from Jerusalem, it is easy to become apostate when we experience a famine in hearing the Word of the Lord. 

Amos prophesied this famine regarding the exile of the Northern Kingdom. The people of God were estranged and alienated from their culture; they were held captive in a foreign land governed by strangers; away from their beloved Temple; their faith in God at its lowest. 

Amos 8:111 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord GOD, “That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of the LORD. 12 They shall wander from sea to sea, And from north to east; They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the LORD, But shall not find it.

Matthew 13: 6 But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away

This apostasy creates the path for the entrance of Ezra. The ministry of Ezra is not to normalise and endorse the evil and wickedness of the day inorder to be at peace with the “leaders and rulers who have been foremost in this trespass.” 

We are dealing with the spiritual condition of the people of God  which represents a corporate culture in a city. There are invaluable leadership lessons to be learned here

Some things may be forgiven during the exile when there may have been a famine of the Word of the Lord. But this condition cannot persist when Ezra arrives.
The scriptures say that Ezra was left speechless. Ezra sat astonished when he was informed about the contamination of the Holy Seed (hybridisation of the culture). The leaders brought the report of apostasy and idolatry amongst the people to Ezra

Ezra 9:1 “The people of Israel and the priests and the Levites have not separated themselves from the peoples of the lands, with respect to the abominations of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites. 2 For they have taken some of their daughters as wives for themselves and their sons, so that the holy seed is mixed with the peoples of those lands

How do we interpret this verse in this present day? We are not advocating a literal, physical separation of people according to their ethnicities? God forbid! This stands in violation of our “In Christ” position (Galatians 3:25-28)

In the present day, these “inter marriages” represent a cross pollination of the Holy seed. We are happy to build with all leaders within the Body of Christ who embrace the core, essential doctrines.

The situation in Jerusalem, was possibly perceived as a revival in unifying the people of the city by those who have not discerned the burden of Ezra.

Ezra did not blame the people; he declared that the leaders and rulers were “foremost in this trespass”. He discerned that this was a time for corporate national repentance and a renewal of the covenant between the people and God. This was a time for mourning; (the tearing of the garment and the robe, and the plucking out of some of the hair of the head and the beard

Ezra 9:4 Then everyone who trembled at the words of the God of Israel assembled to me, because of the transgression of those who had been carried away captive, and I sat astonished until the evening sacrifice.

During these pivotal moments in our journey,  there will be an organic gravitation, orchestrated by the Spirit of God, by those who “tremble at the hearing of the Word of God” towards a priesthood that is sitting astonished with the “spiritual state of the Holy nation” of the people of God. It is the Spirit of God who will lead the sons of God.

Isaiah prophesied a future governing structure that would shoot out from the stump of Jesse that would exercise a restraining influence on this culture of lawlessness and wickedness. In this present reformation, there are many leaders who are sitting speechless and astonished like Ezra.

Here is a serious caution ….,

I spoke recently about discerning the various burdens that leaders carry,

Nehemiah or Zerubbabel should not be offended by the response of Ezra to the spiritual condition of the city. 

ISAIAH PROPHESIES THAT A FUTURE LEADERSHIP WILL ARISE  FROM THE STUMP OF JESSE

Isaiah prophesies the emergence of a righteous government from the stump of Jesse – honoring the patriarch – the father of David – grandfather of Solomon – great grandfather of Rehoboam. God uses the name of the patriarch Jesse. We must be careful not to dismantle the office of “spiritual fathers”.

it is through this lineage that Christ will emerge, defying all odds, from a dead, withered stump of over 600 years – dead and buried, but ROOTED – from this stump arises the Christ and His righteous government 

John 1:17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 

Isaiah 11:3 His delight is in the fear of the LORD, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears; 4 But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. 5 Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, And faithfulness the belt of His waist

The essential core characteristic feature of Justice is that it is IMPARTIAL. Divine Justice is not contaminated by the spirit of sectarianism

THE FINAL MIGRATION OF THE WORD OF GOD – SPIRITUAL FORMATION OF CHRIST WITHIN THE BELIEVER

Jesus came to fulfill the Law, not to destroy it

Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.

Let us study the Greek word that is used for the word “fulfilled” – GINOMAI )

Ginomai Definition -to become, to come into existence, begin to be, to arise, appear in history, come upon the stage; of men appearing in public (Definition extracted from Strongs)

Jesus “became (ginomai)” the Word of God. His disciples  must also become the manifestation of The Word of God 

John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.The shift here is that from reading the Law, we are epistles that will be read by all men

Ezra was not just focussed on teaching the Word of God, he was also committed to DO IT. Ezra prepared his heart to become the visible expression of the Word Ezra 7:10 For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel.

This is the believer’s greatest test in these present perilous times. 

2 Corinthians 3:1 Do we begin again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as some others, epistles of commendation to you or letters of commendation from you? 2 You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; 3 clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.

Please note that spiritual formation has no finite timeline. It is a continuous process or metamorphosis; where every believer embraces his or her journey to becoming the image of Christ

Ephesians 4:13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;

This is the glorious landing and destination of every believer; where we become the Word of God that is read by all men. May the Lord help us all in our journey towards this noble and high calling.

A TRAJETÓRIA DE VOO DA PALAVRA DE DEUS

Na primeira parte da minha apresentação, validaremos os símbolos que são fundamentais para nossa compreensão desta mensagem. Todas as declarações vêm de Isaías.

Isaías 11:1 Um rebento subirá do toco de Jessé; das suas raízes um Ramo dará fruto

Isaías 6:13 E ainda que um décimo fique no país, esses também serão destruídos. Mas, assim como o terebinto e o carvalho deixam o tronco quando são derrubados, assim a santa semente será o seu tronco”

Isaías 11:10 “E naquele dia haverá uma raiz de Jessé, que será um estandarte para o povo; Pois os gentios o buscarão, e o seu lugar de descanso será glorioso.”

Em primeiro lugar, examinaremos essas palavras “tronco (toco)” e “raiz”. Quando falamos em estar “enraizado”, isso infere força e estabilidade em nossos alicerces; que somos capazes de dobrar sem quebrar; apoiando-nos está um “sistema radicular” que está continuamente procurando água e nutrientes. Estar enraizado fala sobre ser edificado sobre a fé em Deus e em Sua Palavra. A fé é construída ouvindo a Palavra de Deus.

Examinemos as palavras de João. Ele se refere à Palavra de Deus sendo eterna

João 1:1-5 1 No princípio era o Verbo, e o Verbo estava com Deus, e o Verbo era Deus. 2 Ele estava no princípio com Deus. 3 Todas as coisas foram feitas por meio dele, e sem ele nada do que foi feito foi feito. 4 Nele estava a vida, e a vida era a luz dos homens. 5 E a luz resplandece nas trevas, e as trevas não a compreenderam

João fala com grande clareza que não deixa espaço para qualquer especulação ou discussão de que a Palavra e Cristo Jesus são a mesma coisa. Cristo Jesus, a Palavra de Deus, estava com Deus desde o princípio. Todas as coisas criadas foram criadas por meio Dele. Ele é a RAIZ DE JESSÉ sobre a qual Isaías profetizou.

Na parábola do semeador, Jesus declara …..

Mateus 13:6 Mas, quando o sol nasceu, eles foram queimados e, por não terem raiz, secaram.

O tronco de Jessé de que Isaías está falando tem raízes. Na superfície, pode parecer seco, murcho, sem vida depois de quase 600 anos marcando o fim da monarquia de Davi e seus filhos e do Reino de Judá Apesar dessa imagem negativa; agradecemos a Deus que o TRONCO ESTÁ ENRAIZADO. Nossa confiança está na Raiz.

Paulo está se dirigindo aos crentes gentios em Roma com esta realidade humilhante e sóbria de que eles não apoiama Raiz, mas que a Raiz os apoia; Ele os lembra de sua migração de sua antiga natureza “selvagem” para se tornarem participantes da “raiz e da gordura” da oliveira

Romanos 11:17 E se alguns dos ramos foram quebrados, e tu, sendo oliveira brava, foste enxertado no meio deles, e com eles te tornaste participante da raiz e da gordura da oliveira, 18 não te glories contra os ramos. Mas, se vos gloriardes, lembrai-vos de que não apoia a raiz, mas a raiz vos sustenta.

O profeta Isaías viveu em um período de tempo diferente de Jessé. Isaías viveu no século 8. Jesse viveu no século 10. É de admirar que um vaso humano fale por Deus com tanta precisão e precisão. Isaías recebeu o que chamaríamos de “inteligência classificada divina / revelação divina” que aponta para uma liderança futura e vindoura (Cristo) que se tornaria uma revelação da Palavra de Deus. Essa inteligência (revelação) claramente não é proveniente do reino da “carne e sangue”

Entre esses três líderes, vemos que havia fardos específicos que cada um carregava. Não pode haver um cronograma indefinido na construção da infraestrutura. Neemias terminou seu trabalho de construção e reparo em 52 dias. Zorobabel terminou a construção do Templo em 7 anos.

Esdras 7:10 Porque Esdras tinha preparado o seu coração para buscar a lei do Senhor, e para a cumprir, e para ensinar estatutos e ordenanças em Israel

A obra de Esdras nunca está completa; isso representa a formação espiritual no crente por meio do ministério da Palavra (Efésios 4:13). Esdras resolveu em seu coração ENRAIZAR o povo de Deus na Palavra de Deus

70 anos se passaram no exílio – Quase uma geração foi alienada à força de sua cultura; o desafio que os exilados enfrentaram foi abraçar o processo de REINTEGRAÇÃO
Isso deve se tornar uma prioridade máxima mesmo nos dias atuais. Nestes tempos perigosos, há muitas distrações. A prioridade para os exilados era se reconectar com a Palavra de Deus e a cultura do povo de Deus.

Não pode haver uma restauração da cultura para o povo de Deus fora da Palavra de Deus. Esdras reacendeu sua paixão pelos mandamentos e ordenanças de Deus. Estabelecer a infraestrutura natural por si só, embora muito necessário, não vai voltar o coração das pessoas para Deus

A PALAVRA DE DEUS É SEMENTE

A Palavra de Deus é frequentemente referida como uma semente por causa de seu poder transformador inerente e do potencial que carrega para iluminação e formação espiritual. Portanto, é descrito como sendo “Vivo e Poderoso”

MISTURA DA SEMENTE SAGRADA

Vamos estudar o relatório que foi trazido a Esdras pelos líderes

Um período longo e incerto no exílio pode ter esse efeito sobre as pessoas. Este é o efeito do exílio na Babilônia sobre a semente. Não há raiz. No exílio, longe de Jerusalém, é fácil tornar-se apóstata quando experimentamos uma fome ao ouvir a Palavra do Senhor.

Amós profetizou essa fome em relação ao exílio do Reino do Norte. O povo de Deus estava alienado e alienado de sua cultura; eles foram mantidos em cativeiro em uma terra estrangeira governada por estranhos; longe de seu amado Templo; sua fé em Deus em seu nível mais baixo

Essa apostasia cria o caminho para a entrada de Esdras. O ministério de Esdras não é normalizar e endossar a maldade e a maldade do dia para estar em paz com os “líderes e governantes que foram os primeiros nesta transgressão”.

Estamos lidando com a condição espiritual do povo de Deus, que representa uma cultura corporativa em uma cidade. Há lições de liderança inestimáveis a serem aprendidas aqui

Algumas coisas podem ser perdoadas durante o exílio, quando pode ter havido uma fome da Palavra do Senhor. Mas essa condição não pode persistir quando Esdras chega.
As escrituras dizem que Esdras ficou sem palavras. Ezra ficou surpreso quando foi informado sobre a contaminação da Semente Sagrada (hibridização da cultura). Os líderes trouxeram a Esdras o relato da apostasia e idolatria entre o povo

Esdras 9:1 “O povo de Israel, os sacerdotes e os levitas não se separaram dos povos das terras, por causa das abominações dos cananeus, dos heteus, dos ferezeus, dos jebuseus, dos amonitas, dos moabitas, dos egípcios e dos amorreus. 2 Pois tomaram algumas de suas filhas como esposas para si e para seus filhos, de modo que a santa descendência se misturou com os povos daquelas terras

Como interpretamos esse versículo nos dias atuais? Não estamos defendendo uma separação literal e física das pessoas de acordo com suas etnias? Deus me livre! Isso viola nossa posição “Em Cristo” (Gálatas 3:25-28)

Nos dias atuais, esses “Inter casamentos” representam uma polinização cruzada da semente sagrada. Estamos felizes em construir com todos os líderes dentro do Corpo de Cristo que abraçam as doutrinas centrais e essenciais.

A situação em Jerusalém foi possivelmente percebida como um reavivamento na unificação do povo da cidade por aqueles que não discerniram o fardo de Esdras.

Esdras não culpou o povo; Ele declarou que os líderes e governantes eram “os primeiros nesta transgressão”. Ele discerniu que este era um momento de arrependimento nacional corporativo e uma renovação da aliança entre o povo e Deus. Este foi um momento de luto; (o rasgar da roupa e do manto, e arrancar alguns dos cabelos da cabeça e da barba

Esdras 9:4 Então todos os que tremiam com as palavras do Deus de Israel se reuniram a mim, por causa da transgressão dos que tinham sido levados cativos, e eu fiquei pasmo até o sacrifício da tarde.

Durante esses momentos cruciais de nossa jornada, haverá uma gravitação orgânica, orquestrada pelo Espírito de Deus, por aqueles que “tremem ao ouvir a Palavra de Deus” em direção a um sacerdócio que está sentado maravilhado com o “estado espiritual da nação santa” do povo de Deus. É o Espírito de Deus que guiará os filhos de Deus.

Isaías profetizou uma futura estrutura de governo que sairia do toco de Jessé e exerceria uma influência restritiva sobre essa cultura de ilegalidade e iniquidade. Nesta reforma atual, há muitos líderes que estão sentados sem palavras e atônitos como Esdras.

Aqui está um cuidado sério ….,

Falei recentemente sobre discernir os vários fardos que os líderes carregam,

Neemias ou Zorobabel não devem ficar ofendidos com a resposta de Esdras à condição espiritual da cidade.

ISAÍAS PROFETIZA QUE UMA FUTURA LIDERANÇA SURGIRÁ DO TRONCO DE JESSÉ

Isaías profetiza o surgimento de um governo justo do toco de Jessé – honrando o patriarca – o pai de Davi – avô de Salomão – bisavô de Roboão. Deus usa o nome do patriarca Jessé. Devemos ter cuidado para não desmantelar o ofício de “pais espirituais”.

É através desta linhagem que Cristo emergirá, desafiando todas as probabilidades, de um toco morto e murcho de mais de 600 anos – morto e sepultado, mas ENRAIZADO – deste toco surge o Cristo e Seu governo justo

A característica essencial da Justiça é que ela é IMPARCIAL. A Justiça Divina não está contaminada pelo espírito do sectarismo

Jesus veio para cumprir a Lei, não para destruí-la.

Mateus 5:17 “Não penseis que vim destruir a Lei ou os Profetas. Eu não vim para destruir, mas para cumprir. 18 Porque em verdade vos digo que, até que o céu e a terra passem, nem um jota ou um til se omitirá da lei, sem que tudo se cumpra.

Vamos estudar a palavra grega que é usada para a palavra “cumprido” – GINOMAI 

Definição de Ginomai – tornar-se, vir a existir, começar a ser, surgir, aparecer na história, subir ao palco; de homens aparecendo em público (Definição extraída de Strongs)

Jesus “tornou-se (ginomai)” a Palavra de Deus. Seus discípulos também devem se tornar a manifestação da Palavra de Deus

João 1:14 E o Verbo se fez carne e habitou entre nós, e vimos a sua glória, a glória como do unigênito do Pai, cheio de graça e de verdade. 

A mudança aqui é que, da leitura da Lei, somos epístolas que serão lidas por todos os homens

Ezra não estava apenas focado em ensinar a Palavra de Deus, ele também estava comprometido em FAZÊ-LO. Esdras preparou seu coração para se tornar a expressão visível da Palavra 

Esdras 7:10 Pois Esdras havia preparado seu coração para buscar a lei do Senhor, e para cumpri-la, e para ensinar estatutos e ordenanças em Israel.

Este é o maior teste do crente nestes tempos perigosos atuais.

Observe que a formação espiritual não tem um cronograma finito. É um processo contínuo ou metamorfose; onde cada crente abraça sua jornada para se tornar a imagem de Cristo

Efésios 4:13 até que todos cheguemos à unidade da fé e do conhecimento do Filho de Deus, ao estado de homem perfeito, à medida da estatura da plenitude de Cristo;

Este é o glorioso desembarque e destino de todo crente; onde nos tornamos a Palavra de Deus que é lida por todos os homens. Que o Senhor nos ajude a todos em nossa jornada rumo a esse nobre e alto chamado.

 

Part 4 – The Tower of Shechem

We will conclude this series of articles by examining the features of an “antitype” to the name of the Lord which is the believer’s Strong Tower

TOWER OF SHECHEM This model reveals the illegitimate occupation of the throne by Abimelech, king of Shechem

Judges 9: 1 Then Abimelech the son of Jerubbaal went to Shechem, to his mother’s brothers, and spoke with them and with all the family of the house of his mother’s father, saying, 2 “Please speak in the hearing of all the men of Shechem: ‘Which is better for you, that all seventy of the sons of Jerubbaal reign over you, or that one reign over you?’ Remember that I am your own flesh and bone.” 3 And his mother’s brothers spoke all these words concerning him in the hearing of all the men of Shechem; and their heart was inclined to follow Abimelech, for they said, “He is our brother.” 4 So they gave him seventy shekels of silver from the temple of Baal-Berith, with which Abimelech hired worthless and reckless men; and they followed him. 5 Then he went to his father’s house at Ophrah and killed his brothers, the seventy sons of Jerubbaal, on one stone. But Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left, because he hid himself. 6 And all the men of Shechem gathered together, all of Beth Millo, and they went and made Abimelech king beside the terebinth tree at the pillar that was in Shechem.

Abimelech was the son of Gideon, that mighty man of valour, who trusted in the strength and power of Almighty God, whose military exploits with his 300 men against the Medianites are enshrined in the scriptures (Judges 6). Abimelech is driven by ambition and a desire for power as he conspires to become the king of Shechem. 

Gideon had 70 sons. The first part of the strategy of Abimelech was to first persuade members of his biological family, appealing to his relatives from his mother’s side. His mother was a concubine. He presented his case in the hearing of the men of Shechem. Conspiracy financed by the temple of Baal-Berith (Judges 9:4n

El Berith was the Canaanite “god of the Covenant” that the Israelites were seduced to worship. Finances generated from idolatrous altars was being used to sponsor corruption and murder. The 70 shekels of silver was used to recruit “worthless and reckless men”  to murder the 70 sons of Gideon on one stone. 

Judges 8:33 So it was, as soon as Gideon was dead, that the children of Israel again played the harlot with the Baals, and made Baal-Berith their god. 34 Thus the children of Israel did not remember the LORD their God, who had delivered them from the hands of all their enemies on every side; 35 nor did they show kindness to the house of Jerubbaal (Gideon) in accordance with the good he had done for Israel.

The period after the death of a leader is of critical importance. Gideon was a fearless, mighty man of valour, who with only 300 men defeated the Midianites. After the death of Gideon the people reverted to idol worship. The hand of God that enabled their  supernatural victory was easily forgotten. The burden in the hearts of spiritual fathers everywhere  is to raise like minded sons who will carry their legacy into the next generation. Our entire life’s work will be in vain if we develop relationships with idolatrous cultures and become unfaithful in our covenants with God. The Israelites worshipped Baal Berith 

Jotham, the one son who was hidden, was the lone voice crying in the wilderness, who accurately prophesied the death of the men of Shechem as well as Abimelech.

Judges 9:16 “Now therefore, if you have acted in truth and sincerity in making Abimelech king, and if you have dealt well with Jerubbaal (Gideon) and his house, and have done to him as he deserves— 17 for my father fought for you, risked his life, and delivered you out of the hand of Midian; 18 but you have risen up against my father’s house this day, and killed his seventy sons on one stone, and made Abimelech, the son of his female servant, king over the men of Shechem, because he is your brother— 19 if then you have acted in truth and sincerity with Jerubbaal and with his house this day, then rejoice in Abimelech, and let him also rejoice in you. 20 But if not, let fire come from Abimelech and devour the men of Shechem and Beth Millo; and let fire come from the men of Shechem and from Beth Millo and devour Abimelech!” 21 And Jotham ran away and fled; and he went to Beer and dwelt there, for fear of Abimelech his brother. Even though God would speak clearly through Jotham, who cried out from the top of Mount Gerazim, the people would not heed his words.

Judges 9:22 After Abimelech had reigned over Israel three years, 23 God sent a spirit of ill will between Abimelech and the men of Shechem; and the men of Shechem dealt treacherously with Abimelech, 24 that the crime done to the seventy sons of Jerubbaal might be settled and their blood be laid on Abimelech their brother, who killed them, and on the men of Shechem, who aided him in the killing of his brothers.

Abimelech may have thought that God had forgotten about him murdering the 70 sons of Gideon; however God does not forget. God sends a spirit of enmity between Abimelech and the men of Shechem 

Judges 9:46 Now when all the men of the tower of Shechem had heard that, they entered the stronghold of the temple of the god Berith. 47 And it was told Abimelech that all the men of the tower of Shechem were gathered together.

The leaders of the Tower of Shechem sought refuge in the stronghold of the temple of El-Berith. These men who gathered in this temple that worships Baal have a covenant with evil, corruption and murder and this stronghold is unable to confer Divine immunity and protection to those who run into it. It is only the name of the Lord that is a strong tower; the righteous run in and they will be saved. The stronghold of El Berith will not be able to save us if we have blood on our hands. Abimelech set the stronghold on fire; all the people of the Tower of Shechem died, about a thousand men and women; all the people who colluded with Abimelech (Judges 9:49). Abimelech is saved from this judgement. He boldly proceeds to the town of Thebez 

TOWER OF THEBEZ God uses this tower as an instrument to deliver His righteous Divine judgement

Judges 9:50 Then Abimelech went to Thebez, and he encamped against Thebez and took it. 51 But there was a strong tower in the city, and all the men and women—all the people of the city—fled there and shut themselves in; then they went up to the top of the tower. 52 So Abimelech came as far as the tower and fought against it; and he drew near the door of the tower to burn it with fire. 53 But a certain woman dropped an upper millstone on Abimelech’s head and crushed his skull. 54 Then he called quickly to the young man, his armorbearer, and said to him, “Draw your sword and kill me, lest men say of me, ‘A woman killed him.’ ” So his young man thrust him through, and he died. 55 And when the men of Israel saw that Abimelech was dead, they departed, every man to his place.

There must be a “the strong tower in the city” that is able to confer protection and safety for the righteous who run in. It is a fortified tower. It is representative of the Name of the Lord. This Tower is also the instrument through which God will execute Divine Justice. A woman with no name will drop the millstone on the head of Abimelech, killing him.

Hear the words of warning from Jesus…. it is better to fall upon the Rock.

Matthew 21:43 “Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it. 44 And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.” 45 Now when the chief priests and Pharisees heard His parables, they perceived that He was speaking of them. 46 But when they sought to lay hands on Him, they feared the multitudes, because they took Him for a prophet.

THE NAME OF THE LORD IS A STRONG TOWER – THE RIGHTEOUS RUN IN AND THEY ARE SAVED

Concluiremos esta série de artigos examinando as características de um “antítipo” ao nome do Senhor, que é a Torre Forte do crente

TORRE DE SIQUÉM                                          Este modelo revela a ocupação ilegítima do trono por Abimeleque, rei de Siquém

Juízes 9:1 Abimeleque, filho de Jerubaal, foi aos irmãos de sua mãe em Siquém e disse a eles e a todo o clã da família de sua mãe: 2 “Perguntem a todos os cidadãos de Siquém: O que é melhor para vocês: ter todos os setenta filhos de Jerubaal governando sobre vocês, ou somente um homem? Lembrem-se de que eu sou sua própria carne”.3 Os irmãos de sua mãe repetiram tudo aos cidadãos de Siquém, e estes se mostraram propensos a seguir Abimeleque, pois disseram: “Ele é nosso irmão”. 4 Deram-lhe setenta peças de prata tiradas do templo de Baal-Berite, as quais Abimeleque usou para contratar alguns desocupados e vadios, que se tornaram seus seguidores.5 Foi à casa de seu pai em Ofra e matou seus setenta irmãos, filhos de Jerubaal, sobre uma rocha. Mas Jotão, o filho mais novo de Jerubaal, escondeu-se e escapou. 6 Então todos os cidadãos de Siquém e de Bete-Milo reuniram-se ao lado do Carvalho, junto à coluna de Siquém, para coroar Abimeleque rei.

Abimeleque era filho de Gideão, aquele homem valente, que confiou na força e no poder do Deus Todo-Poderoso, cujas façanhas militares com seus 300 homens contra os medianitas estão consagradas nas escrituras (Juízes 6). Abimeleque é movido pela ambição e pelo desejo de poder ao conspirar para se tornar o rei de Siquém.

Gideão teve 70 filhos. A primeira parte da estratégia de Abimeleque foi primeiro persuadir os membros de sua família biológica, apelando para seus parentes do lado de sua mãe. Sua mãe era uma concubina. Ele apresentou seu caso aos ouvidos dos homens de Siquém. Conspiração financiada pelo templo de Baal-Berite (Juízes 9:4) 

El Berith era o “deus da aliança” cananeu que os israelitas foram seduzidos a adorar. As finanças geradas a partir de altares idólatras estavam sendo usadas para patrocinar corrupção e assassinato. Os 70 siclos de prata foram usados para recrutar “homens inúteis e imprudentes” para assassinar os 70 filhos de Gideão em uma pedra.

Juízes 8:33 Logo depois que Gideão morreu, os israelitas voltaram a prostituir-se com os baalins, cultuando-os. Ergueram Baal-Berite como seu deus, e 34 não se lembraram do Senhor, do seu Deus, qua os tinha livrado das mãos dos seus inimigos em redor. 35 Também não foram bondosos com a família de Jerubaal, isto é, Gideão, reconhecendo todo o bem que ele tinha feito por Israel.

O período após a morte de um líder é de importância crítica. Gideão era um homem destemido, poderoso e valente, que com apenas 300 homens derrotou os midianitas. Após a morte de Gideão, o povo voltou à adoração de ídolos. A mão de Deus que permitiu sua vitória sobrenatural foi facilmente esquecida. O fardo nos corações dos pais espirituais em todos os lugares é criar filhos com ideias semelhantes que levarão seu legado para a próxima geração. O trabalho de toda a nossa vida será em vão se desenvolvermos relacionamentos com culturas idólatras e nos tornarmos infiéis em nossos convênios com Deus. Os israelitas adoravam Baal Berite.

Jotão, o único filho que estava escondido, era a única voz clamando no deserto, que profetizou com precisão a morte dos homens de Siquém, bem como de Abimeleque.

Juízes 9:16 “Será que vocês agiram de fato com sinceridade quando fizeram Abimeleque rei? Foram justos com Jerubaal e sua família, como ele merecia? 17 Meu pai lutou por vocês e arriscou a vida para livrá-los das mãos de Midiã, 18 hoje, porém, vocês se revoltaram contra a família de meu pai, mataram seus setenta filhos sobre a mesma rocha, e proclamaram Abimeleque, o filho de sua escrava, rei sobre os cidadãos de Siquém pelo fato de ser irmão de vocês. 19 Se hoje vocês de fato agiram com sinceridade para com Jerubaal e sua família, alegrem-se com Abimeleque, e alegre-se ele com vocês! 20 Entretanto, se não foi assim, que saia fogo de Abimeleque e consuma os cidadãos de Siquém e de Bete-Milo, e que saia fogo dos cidadãos de Siquém e de Bete-Milo, e consuma Abimeleque! ” 21 Depois Jotão fugiu para Beer, e foi morar ali, longe de seu irmão Abimeleque. 22 Fazia três anos que Abimeleque governava Israel, 23 quando Deus enviou um espírito maligno entre Abimeleque e os cidadãos de Siquém, e estes agiram traiçoeiramente contra Abimeleque. 24 Isso aconteceu para que o crime contra os setenta filhos de Jerubaal, o derramamento do sangue deles, fosse vingado em seu irmão Abimeleque e nos cidadãos de Siquém que o ajudaram a assassinar os seus irmãos

Abimeleque pode ter pensado que Deus havia se esquecido de assassinar os 70 filhos de Gideão; no entanto, Deus não esquece. Deus envia um espírito de inimizade entre Abimeleque e os homens de Siquém

Juízes 9:46 Ao saberem disso, os cidadãos que estavam na torre de Siquém entraram na fortaleza do templo de El-Berite. 47 Quando Abimeleque soube que se haviam reunido lá,

Os líderes da torre de Siquém buscaram refúgio na fortaleza do templo de El-Berith. Esses homens que se reuniram neste templo que adora Baal têm uma aliança com o mal, a corrupção e o assassinato e esta fortaleza é incapaz de conferir imunidade e proteção divina àqueles que se deparam com ela. É somente o nome do Senhor que é uma torre forte; os justos correm e serão salvos. A fortaleza de El Berith não será capaz de nos salvar se tivermos sangue em nossas mãos. Abimeleque incendiou a fortaleza; todo o povo da torre de Siquém morreu, cerca de mil homens e mulheres; todas as pessoas que conspiraram com Abimeleque (Juízes 9:49). Abimeleque é salvo desse julgamento. Ele corajosamente prossegue para a cidade de Tebez

TORRE DE TEBEZ  Deus usa esta torre como um instrumento para entregar Seu justo julgamento divino

Juízes 9:50 A seguir Abimeleque foi a Tebes, sitiou-a e conquistou-a. 51 Mas dentro da cidade havia uma torre bastante forte, para a qual fugiram todos os homens e mulheres, todo o povo da cidade. Trancaram-se por dentro e subiram para o telhado da torre. 52 Abimeleque foi para a torre e atacou-a. E, quando se aproximava da entrada da torre para incendiá-la, 53 uma mulher jogou-lhe uma pedra de moinho na cabeça, que lhe rachou o crânio.54 Imediatamente ele chamou seu escudeiro e lhe ordenou: “Tire a espada e mate-me, para que não digam que uma mulher me matou”. Então o jovem o atravessou, e ele morreu. 55 Quando os israelitas viram que Abimeleque estava morto, voltaram para casa.

Deve haver uma “torre forte na cidade” que seja capaz de conferir proteção e segurança aos justos que entrarem. É uma torre fortificada. É representativo do Nome do Senhor. Esta Torre é também o instrumento através do qual Deus executará a Justiça Divina. Uma mulher sem nome deixará cair a pedra de moinho sobre a cabeça de Abimeleque, matando-o.

Ouça as palavras de advertência de Jesus. … é melhor cair sobre a Rocha

Mateus 21:43 “Portanto eu lhes digo que o Reino de Deus será tirado de vocês e será dado a um povo que dê os frutos do Reino. 44 Aquele que cair sobre esta pedra será despedaçado, e aquele sobre quem ela cair será reduzido a pó”. 45 Quando os chefes dos sacerdotes e os fariseus ouviram as parábolas de Jesus, compreenderam que ele falava a respeito deles.

O NOME DO SENHOR É UMA TORRE FORTE – OS JUSTOS CORREM E SÃO SALVOS

 

Last week we dealt with the Lord being a strong tower where the righteous (those IN CHRIST) run in and they are saved. 

The challenge for all believers and present day church leadership is to construct our inner man and our ministries to represent Christ as our Strong Tower, our fortress and place of refuge, the Rock that is Higher than ourselves. 

Wherever we appear, in any environment, whether among other believers or among unbelievers, it is this STRONG TOWER (Christ) that would be encountered. 

When people encounter us, they must feel safe, they must feel protected; the woman with the 12 year bleeding problem must expect her bleeding to stop 

Isaiah prophesied about a future Zion habitat that would arise. He declared that Jesus (the shoot) will grow from the STUMP OF JESSE 

Isaiah 11: 1 Then a shoot will grow from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots will bear fruit.

It symbolises the emergence of the people of God, a Judah company, that would arise out of the stump (remnant) under the leadership of Christ. This “stump” is descriptive of those who have survived the Assyrian assault and Babylonian captivity; this remnant has survived persecution, intense hardship and oppression of their faith in God. The shoot from the stump represents the advent of a new season in God, that would cause hope to arise and the resurrection to life and the restoration of the national identity of the people of God.

Rather than referring to the illustrious monarchy of King David (a man after God’s own heart) or the glorious and magnificent splendour of the Temple of Solomon, God chooses to refer to Jesse, the patriarch, as the stump from which Jesus would appear.

Let us examine some features of His leadership.

Isaiah 11:3 His delight is in the fear of the LORD, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears; 4 But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. 5 Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, And faithfulness the belt of His waist. 6 “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, The leopard shall lie down with the young goat, The calf and the young lion and the fatling together; And a little child shall lead them. 7 The cow and the bear shall graze; Their young ones shall lie down together; And the lion shall eat straw like the ox. 8 The nursing child shall play by the cobra’s hole, And the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper’s den. 9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD As the waters cover the sea.

Isaiah presents a graphic image of a safe environment; a safe haven for those who have placed their trust in the Lord

The rulership of Christ will be evident in His style of leadership. Righteousness and justice will be the signature feature of His governance. David and Solomon both trusted in the righteous judgements of the Lord. In this present season, whatever we are constructing, either individually or as a collective, it needs to reflect the features and image of a tower (Christ) that is able to confer safety, protection and refuge for the righteous who run in (those who are IN CHRIST)

In this place of safety, the wolf has to lose its natural inclination to attack and scatter the sheep; it will be trusted to lie down with the lamb in peace because of the restraining rule of governance of the One who has created both the wolf and the lamb; both the leopard and the young goat; both the nursing child and the serpent. 

The Tower of the Lord is not a physical, literal building. The features of the thetower are configured as Christ is spiritually formed in the believer who is the spiritual temple.

In the Philippian prison, Paul and Silas represented the tower where the jailor and his family could run in and be saved. Although this was a place of incarceration for Paul and Silas, this environment of captivity was unable to disable or dismantle the Tower of the Lord that was constructed in them.

Paul and Silas did not use the earthquake as a reason to escape from prison

Let us examine this closely……

Acts 16:26 Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed. 27 And the keeper of the prison, awaking from sleep and seeing the prison doors open, supposing the prisoners had fled, drew his sword and was about to kill himself. 28 But Paul called with a loud voice, saying, “Do yourself no harm, for we are all here.”

Paul and Silas demonstrated the features of righteousness and justice of the tower in them. Although the prison doors were open, they were rooted in righteousness.

A OUSADIA DA JUSTIÇA (CRISTO)  Parte 3 – O troncode Jessé

Na semana passada, lidamos com o Senhor sendo uma torre forte onde os justos (aqueles EM CRISTO) correm e são salvos.

O desafio para todos os crentes e a liderança da igreja atual é construir nosso homem interior e nossos ministérios para representar Cristo como nossa Torre Forte, nossa fortaleza e lugar de refúgio, a Rocha que é mais alta do que nós mesmos.

Onde quer que apareçamos, em qualquer ambiente, seja entre outros crentes ou entre incrédulos, é esta TORRE FORTE (Cristo) tem que ser encontrada.

Quando as pessoas nos encontram, devem sentir-se seguras, devem sentir-se protegidas; A mulher com o problema de sangramento de 12 anos deve esperar que seu sangramento pare.

Isaías profetizou sobre um futuro habitat de Sião que surgiria. Ele declarou que Jesus (o broto) crescerá do TRONCO DE JESSE

Isaías 11: 1  Um ramo surgirá do tronco de Jessé, e das suas raízes brotará um renovo.

Simboliza o surgimento do povo de Deus, uma companhia de Judá, que surgiria do tronco (remanescente) sob a liderança de Cristo. Este “tronco” é descritivo daqueles que sobreviveram ao ataque assírio e ao cativeiro babilônico; esse remanescente sobreviveu à perseguição, às intensas dificuldades e à opressão de sua fé em Deus. O rebento do tronco representa o advento de uma nova estação em Deus, que faria surgir a esperança e a ressurreição para a vida e a restauração da identidade nacional do povo de Deus.

Em vez de se referir à ilustre monarquia do rei Davi (um homem segundo o coração de Deus) ou ao glorioso e magnífico esplendor do Templo de Salomão, Deus escolhe se referir a Jessé, o patriarca, como o tronco do qual Jesus apareceria.

Examinemos algumas características de Sua liderança.

Isaías 11:3-9 3O seu prazer está no temor do Senhor, e não julgará pela vista dos seus olhos, nem decidirá pelo ouvir dos seus ouvidos; 4 Mas com justiça julgará os pobres, e decidirá com equidade pelos mansos da terra; Ele ferirá a terra com a vara da sua boca, e com o sopro dos seus lábios matará os ímpios. 5 A justiça será o cinto dos seus lombos, e a fidelidade o cinto dos seus lombos. 6 Também o lobo habitará com o cordeiro, o leopardo se deitará com o cabrito, o bezerro e o leão novo e o cevado juntos; E uma criança os guiará. 7 A vaca e o urso pastarão; Seus filhos se deitarão juntos; E o leão comerá palha como o boi. 8 A criança que amamenta brincará junto à toca da naja, e a criança desmamada porá a mão na cova da víbora. 9 Não farão mal nem dano algum em todo o meu santo monte, porque a terra se encherá do conhecimento do SENHOR, como as águas cobrem o mar.

Isaías apresenta uma imagem gráfica de um ambiente seguro; um porto seguro para aqueles que colocaram sua confiança no Senhor

O governo de Cristo será evidente em Seu estilo de liderança. A retidão e a justiça serão a característica marcante de Seu governo. Davi e Salomão confiaram nos julgamentos justos do Senhor. Nesta época atual, o que quer que estejamos construindo, individualmente ou coletivamente, precisa refletir as características e a imagem de uma torre (Cristo) que é capaz de conferir segurança, proteção e refúgio para os justos que correm (aqueles que estão EM CRISTO)

Neste lugar de segurança, o lobo tem que perder sua inclinação natural para atacar e dispersar as ovelhas; será confiado que se deitará com o cordeiro em paz por causa da regra restritiva de governo dAquele que criou tanto o lobo como o cordeiro; tanto o leopardo quanto o cabrito; tanto a criança que amamenta quanto a serpente.

A Torre do Senhor não é um edifício físico e literal. As características da torre são configuradas como Cristo é espiritualmente formado no crente que é o templo espiritual.

Na prisão de Filipos, Paulo e Silas representavam a torre onde o carcereiro e sua família podiam correr e ser salvos. Embora este fosse um lugar de encarceramento para Paulo e Silas, este ambiente de cativeiro foi incapaz de desativar ou desmantelar a Torre do Senhor que foi construída neles.

Paulo e Silas não usaram o terremoto como motivo para escapar da prisão.

Examinemos isto de perto……

Atos 16:26-28 26 De repente, houve um grande terremoto, de modo que os alicerces da prisão foram abalados; e imediatamente todas as portas foram abertas e as correntes de todos foram soltas. 27 E o carcereiro, despertando do sono e vendo as portas da prisão abertas, supondo que os presos tivessem fugido, desembainhou a espada e estava prestes a se matar. 28 Mas Paulo clamou em alta voz, dizendo: “Não faça mal a si mesmo, pois estamos todos aqui”.

Paulo e Silas demonstraram as características da retidão e da justiça da torre neles. Embora as portas da prisão estivessem abertas, elas estavam enraizadas na retidão.

Some  burdens will cause us to be despised and persecuted. For example the burden to declare the truth in the Word of God; a burden for righteousness (Christ) and justice; a burden for order, structure and governance.

In times of intense provocation, there is the hovering spirit of seduction that entices most leaders to be succumb to the temptation of venturing outside the Word of the Lord to engage and appease the itching ears of their post modern audiences.

Jesus also experienced a “momentary lapse in focus”. We are grateful that these are momentary lapses. Jesus was able to quickly default to His original mandate and settings which is the “Will of His Heavenly Father” 

Luke 22:42 saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” 43 Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him.

This is is the DEFAULT SETTING OF A SON OF GOD

Like we said in previous articles, Jesus the SON OF GOD  is the EMBODIMENT and the PERSONIFICATION of righteousness 

Both David and Solomon make clear statements regarding their absolute trust and confidence in the righteous judgements of the Lord

There are many references to towers in the scriptures and they generally symbolise Divine protection and safety – a place of refuge

The church is also a picture of a tower that is built upon the Rock, Christ Jesus who is the FIRM FOUNDATION

Matthew 16:18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it

Prophetic voices were generally regarded as “watchmen on a tower”. They were spiritually positioned to warn the people of God of impending dangers. The tower would represent an “advance warning system”. When constituted in the foundational  principles of righteousness, justice, mercy and truth, it would represent a place of safety and refuge

This is what David wrote concerning the Lord being his tower. The Lord was a formidable, impregnable defence system against the wiles and attacks of David’s enemies.

Psalms 61:2 From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. 3 For You have been a shelter for me, A strong tower from the enemy. 4 I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings.

After David saw the Lord deliver him from Saul and all his enemies he declared …..

Psalms 18:2 The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. 3 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.

David’s son Solomon shares the same testimony as his father David. This is what Solomon declares …….

Proverbs 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe

Both David and Solomon, as we well know, were flawed as mortal, natural men. Why would David and Solomon place so much trust in the Lord’s ability to confer safety, protection and deliverance from their enemies? We must examine a few Divine attributes of God that inspired David to describe the NAME OF THE LORD as a strong TOWER

Psalms 139:4 For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O LORD, You know it altogether. 5 You have hedged me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me.6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it. 7 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? 8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. 9 If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, 10 Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me. 11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me; 12 Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You. 13 For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. 17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!

We can extract some of His Divine attributes from this Psalm.

Omniscience – God knows all things. He knows the beginning and the end. Omnipotence: God is all-powerful. There is nothing too difficult for Him to accomplish  Omnipresence: God is a Spirit and He is everywhere at all times 

David says even if he makes his bed in hell, you are there; that the right hand of leadership will be extended to David even if he finds himself in the depths of the ocean.

God is Self-Existing This is an aspect of the nature of God that inspires a believer’s confidence in the name of the Lord – a strong tower. It is very difficult for a human being to comprehend this aspect of God. He is not a CREATED BEING. Every human being can trace his genealogy. God has no beginning and no end – God is infinite. 

The Preeminence of Christ as the Son of God

Colossians 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.

John 3:13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.

John 16:28 I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.”

God Is Immutable – He Never Changes

This is one of the attributes that inspires David and Solomon to regard the Lord as a “strong tower”

Malachi 3:6 “For I am the LORD, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.

A OUSADIA DA JUSTIÇA (CRISTO) Parte 2 – O SENHOR É UMA TORRE FORTE

Alguns fardos farão com que sejamos desprezados e perseguidos. Por exemplo, o fardo de declarar a verdade na Palavra de Deus; um fardo para a retidão (Cristo) e justiça; um fardo para a ordem, estrutura e governança.

Em tempos de intensa provocação, há o espírito de sedução que atrai a maioria dos líderes a sucumbir à tentação de se aventurar fora da Palavra do Senhor para envolver e apaziguar os ouvidos de seu público pós-moderno.

Jesus também experimentou um “lapso momentâneo de foco”. Somos gratos por esses lapsos momentâneos. Jesus foi capaz de rapidamente adotar Seu mandato e configurações originais, que é a “Vontade de Seu Pai Celestial”

Lucas 22:42 dizendo: 42 “Pai, se é da tua vontade, afasta de mim este cálice; todavia, não se faça a minha vontade, mas a tua.” 43 Então um anjo lhe apareceu do céu, fortalecendo-o.

Esta é a CONFIGURAÇÃO PADRÃO DE UM FILHO DE DEUS

Como dissemos em artigos anteriores, Jesus, o FILHO DE DEUS, é a ENCARNAÇÃO e a PERSONIFICAÇÃO da justiça.

Tanto Davi quanto Salomão fazem declarações claras sobre sua absoluta confiança nos julgamentos justos do Senhor.

Há muitas referências a torres nas escrituras e elas geralmente simbolizam a proteção e a segurança divinas – um lugar de refúgio.

A igreja também é uma figura de uma torre que é construída sobre a Rocha, Cristo Jesus, que é o FIRME FUNDAMENTO

Mateus 16:18 E também te digo que tu és Pedro, e sobre esta pedra edificarei a minha igreja, e as portas do inferno não prevalecerão contra ela.

As vozes proféticas eram geralmente consideradas como “atalaias em uma torre”. Eles estavam espiritualmente posicionados para alertar o povo de Deus sobre os perigos iminentes. A torre representaria um “sistema de alerta antecipado”. Quando constituído nos princípios fundamentais de retidão, justiça, misericórdia e verdade, representaria um lugar de segurança e refúgio

Isto é o que Davi escreveu sobre o Senhor ser sua torre. O Senhor era um sistema de defesa formidável e inexpugnável contra as artimanhas e ataques dos inimigos de Davi.

Salmos 61:2 Desde os confins da terra clamarei a ti, quando o meu coração estiver oprimido; Guia-me à rocha que é mais alta do que eu. 3 Pois tu tens sido um abrigo para mim, uma torre forte contra o inimigo. 4 Permanecerei no teu tabernáculo para sempre; Confiareino abrigo de Tuas asas.

Depois que Davi viu o Senhor livrá-lo de Saul e de todos os seus inimigos, ele declarou …..

Salmos 18:2-3 2 O Senhor é a minha rocha, e a minha fortaleza, e o meu libertador; Meu Deus, minha força, em quem confiarei; Meu escudo e o chifre da minha salvação, minha fortaleza. 3 Invocarei o SENHOR, que é digno de ser louvado; Assim serei salvo dos meus inimigos.

O filho de Davi, Salomão, compartilha o mesmo testemunho que seu pai Davi. Isto é o que Salomão declara ……

Provérbios 18:10 O nome do Senhor é uma torre forte; Osjustos correm para ele e estão seguro

Tanto Davi quanto Salomão, como bem sabemos, eram falhos como homens mortais e naturais. Por que Davi e Salomão depositariam tanta confiança na capacidade do Senhor de conferir segurança, proteção e libertação de seus inimigos? Devemos examinar alguns atributos divinos de Deus que inspiraram Davi a descrever o NOME DO SENHOR como uma TORRE forte

Salmos 139:4-17 4 Porque não há palavra na minha língua, mas eis que, Senhor, tu o conheces inteiramente. 5 Tu me cercaste por trás e por diante, e puseste a tua mão sobre mim. 6 Tal conhecimento é maravilhoso demais para mim; É alto, não posso alcançá-lo. 7 Para onde posso ir do Teu Espírito? Ou para onde posso fugir da Tua presença? 8 Se eu subir ao céu, Tu estás lá; Se eu fizer minha cama no inferno, eis que você está lá. 9 Se eu tomar as asas da alva, e habitar nas extremidades do mar, 10 até ali a tua mão me guiará, e a tua destra me susterá. 11 Se eu disser: Certamente as trevas cairão sobre mim, até a noite será luz ao meu redor; 12 Na verdade, as trevas não se esconderão de ti, mas a noite resplandece como o dia; As trevas e a luz são iguais para Ti. 13 Pois tu formaste o meu interior; Você me cobriu no ventre de minha mãe. 14 Eu te louvarei, porque de modo assombroso e maravilhoso fui feito; Maravilhosas são as Tuas obras, e isso a minha alma sabe muito bem. 15 O meu corpo não te foi encoberto, quando fui feito em secreto, e trabalhado com habilidade nas profundezas da terra. 16 Seus olhos viram a minha substância, ainda sem forma. E no teu livro todos eles foram escritos, Os dias me foram formados, Quando ainda não havia nenhum deles. 17 Quão preciosos são também os teus pensamentos para mim, ó Deus! Quão grande é a soma deles!

Podemos extrair alguns de Seus atributos divinos deste Salmo.

Onisciência – Deus conhece todas as coisas. Ele conhece o começo e o fim. 

Onipotência – Deus é todo-poderoso. Não há nada muito difícil para Ele realizar a 

Onipresença: Deus é um Espírito e Ele está em toda parte em todos os momentos

Davi diz que mesmo que ele faça sua cama no inferno, você está lá; que a mão direita da liderança será estendida a Davi, mesmo que ele se encontre nas profundezas do oceano.

Deus é auto-existente  Este é um aspecto da natureza de Deus que inspira a confiança de um crente no nome do Senhor – uma torre forte. É muito difícil para um ser humano compreender esse aspecto de Deus. Ele não é um SER CRIADO. Todo ser humano pode traçar sua genealogia. Deus não tem começo nem fim – Deus é infinito

A preeminência de Cristo como Filho de Deus

Colossenses 1:15-17 15 Ele é a imagem do Deus invisível, o primogênito de toda a criação. 16 Porque nele foram criadas todas as coisas que há nos céus e na terra, visíveis e invisíveis, sejam tronos, sejam dominações, sejam principados, sejam potestades. Todas as coisas foram criadas por meio Dele e para Ele. 17 E ele é antes de todas as coisas, e nele subsistem todas as coisas. 18 E ele é a cabeça do corpo, a igreja, que é o princípio, o primogênito dentre os mortos, para que em todas as coisas tenha a preeminência.

João 3:13 Ninguém subiu ao céu, senão aquele que desceu do céu, isto é, o Filho do homem que está nos céus.

João 16:28 Eu saí do Pai e vim ao mundo. Mais uma vez, deixo o mundo e vou para o Pai.”

Deus é imutável – Ele nunca muda

Este é um dos atributos que inspira Davi e Salomão a considerar o Senhor como uma “torre forte”

With all the research material we have at our disposal on the Internet, believers are able to speak on, literally any subject. However there is always a dominant area of ministry that reveals the burden that the Lord has placed on some of our hearts. A spiritual burden gives emphasis to a specific subject. A burden that weighs heavily upon our hearts usually becomes the driving influence in our ministry

The Hebrew word for “burden” maśśā’: A masculine noun meaning a burden or load; by extension, a burden in the form of a prophetic utterance or oracle. It is derived from the verb nāśā’ meaning to lift, to bear, to carry. When used to express a burden or load, it is commonly used to describe that which is placed on the backs of pack animals, like donkeys (Exodus 23:5); mules (2 Kings 5:17); or camels (2 Kings 8:9). Another common usage is in designating what parts of the Tabernacle the sons of Kohath, Gershon, and Merari were to carry (Numbers 4:15, 19, 24, 27, 31, 32, 47, 49).

For example Nehemiah carried a burden to rebuild the walls in Jerusalem. He became focussed on the process of rebuilding. Although he encountered many challenges in fulfilling his assignment, he completed his task. His passion to rebuild the walls never diminished. 

We carry a burden for the people in the world to be saved, because God loves the world and it is because of His love that He sent His Son Jesus for the purpose of redemption and recovery. However, we do not carry a burden for the “THINGS OF THE WORLD”

Esther carried a burden for the safety of the people of God. She was determined and resolute to prevent the genocide planned against the people of God. This burden was so overwhelming and all consuming , that she put her crown and her position on the line when she declared these immortal words …….

“If I perish, I perish”

Esther 7:4 For we have been sold, my people and I, to be destroyed, to be killed, and to be annihilated

The threat of genocide against the people of God will activate a response from the heavens. God is not going to sit by and watch the annihilation of His people. God will raise voices that will resist and challenge the agenda of evil and wicked conspiracies. This is nothing new; He has done this throughout the scriptures.

All believers should carry a burden for ……..

The Word of the Lord – Apostles’ Doctrine  Fellowship  Prayers and Intercession  Prosperity  Righteousness and Justice

However, the practical reality is different. Each believer may have a different emphasis. The contention arises when we do not respect and value each other’s burdens.

For example, the leader who carries a burden for FELLOWSHIP must also celebrate the leader that carries a burden for the Word of the Lord 

Church growth brings new challenges. When the disciples were multiplying and the church was growing rapidly, there arose a contention between the Jews and the Greeks after the Greeks claimed prejudice against their widows. The apostles decided to prioritise their burdens ……      

They appointed deacons to share in carrying the burdens of ministry

Acts 6:3 Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; 4 but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”

The apostles’ carried the burden for the ministry of the WORD AND PRAYER. These two areas of ministry were prioritised.

The leader who carries a burden for the Word of the Lord must also embrace the leader who carries the burden for Prayers and Intercession

The leader who carries a burden for fellowship must also embrace the leader who carries a burden for WORSHIP AND PRAISE

The leader who carries a burden for WORSHIP AND PRAISE must also embrace a leader who carries a burden for the WORD OF THE LORD

Ministries and grace gifts are unveiled when our burdens become visible.

Elijah carried a burden for the people of God to worship GOD. The trigger that set Elijah off was IDOLATRY

The naturally minded observer may have  thought that Elijah had a meltdown on Mount Carmel, in the same way that some religious leaders in the Temple would have thought that Jesus was demonised and had lost His mind when He drove out the moneychangers from the Temple

Mark 3:21 But when His own people heard about this, they went out to lay hold of Him, for they said, “He is out of His mind.” 22 And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He has Beelzebub,” and, “By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.”

Elijah was called  “the troubler of Israel”

Here is the point …. We must not expect others to understand the burden that we are carrying. The zeal for the burden that we carry will consume us. One of the burdens that Jesus carried was the burden for the integrity and righteous worship in His Father’s House.

Sadly, in an attempt to please believers, we have fostered a “service provider/consumer” environment that is embarrassed by voices that “trouble” and challenge unbiblical building patterns

No entanto, há sempre uma área dominante do ministério que revela o fardo que o Senhor colocou em alguns de nossos corações. Um fardo espiritual dá ênfase a um assunto específico. Um fardo que pesa muito sobre o nosso coração geralmente se torna a influência motriz em nosso ministério

A palavra hebraica para “fardo” maśśā’: Um substantivo masculino que significa um fardo ou carga; por extensão, um fardo na forma de uma declaração profética ou oráculo. É derivado do verbo nāśā’ que significa levantar, suportar, carregar. “Se eu perecer, eu pereço”

 Ester 7:4 Pois fomos vendidos, meu povo e eu, para sermos destruídos, mortos e aniquilados

A ameaça de genocídio contra o povo de Deus ativará uma resposta dos céus. Deus não vai ficar sentado e assistir à aniquilação de Seu povo. Deus levantará vozes que resistirão e desafiarão a agenda de conspirações malignas e perversas. Isso não é novidade; Ele fez isso em todas as escrituras.

Todos os crentes devem carregar um fardo por ……..

A Palavra do Senhor – Doutrina dos Apóstolos Comunhão Orações e Intercessão Prosperidade Retidão e Justiça

No entanto, a realidade prática é diferente. Cada crente pode ter uma ênfase diferente. A contenda surge quando não respeitamos e valorizamos os fardos uns dos outros.

Por exemplo, o líder que carrega um fardo pela COMUNHÃO também deve celebrar o líder que carrega um fardo pela Palavra do Senhor

O crescimento da igreja traz novos desafios. Quando os discípulos estavam se multiplicando e a igreja estava crescendo rapidamente, surgiu uma contenda entre os judeus e os gregos depois que os gregos alegaram preconceito contra suas viúvas. Os apóstolos decidiram priorizar seus fardos ……

Eles designaram diáconos para compartilhar o carregamento dos fardos do ministério

Atos 6:3 Portanto, irmãos, buscai dentre vós sete homens de boa reputação, cheios do Espírito Santo e de sabedoria, aos quais possamos encarregar deste negócio; 4 mas nos dedicaremos continuamente à oração e ao ministério da palavra”.

Os apóstolos carregaram o fardo do ministério da PALAVRA E DA ORAÇÃO. Essas duas áreas de ministério foram priorizadas.

O líder que carrega um fardo pela Palavra do Senhor também deve abraçar o líder que carrega o fardo por Orações e Intercessão

O líder que carrega um fardo para a comunhão também deve abraçar o líder que carrega um fardo para ADORAÇÃO E LOUVOR

O líder que carrega um fardo para ADORAÇÃO E LOUVOR também deve abraçar um líder que carrega um fardo para a PALAVRA DO SENHOR

Os ministérios e presentes da graça são revelados quando nossos fardos se tornam visíveis. Elias carregava um fardo para o povo de Deus adorar a Deus. O gatilho que desencadeou.

Elias foi a idolatria, o observador de mentalidade natural pode ter pensado que Elias teve um colapso no Monte Carmelo, da mesma forma que alguns líderes religiosos do templo pensariam que Jesus estava demonizado e havia perdido a cabeça quando expulsou os cambistas do templo.

 Marcos 3:21 Mas, quando o seu povo soube disso, saiu para prendê-lo, pois dizia: “Ele está louco”. 22 E os escribas que desceram de Jerusalém disseram: Ele tem Belzebu, e: Expulsa demônios pelo príncipe dos demônios.

 Elias foi chamado de “o perturbador de Israel”

Aqui está o ponto …. Não devemos esperar que os outros entendam o fardo que estamos carregando. O zelo pelo fardo que carregamos nos consumirá. Um dos fardos que Jesus carregou foi o fardo pela integridade e adoração justa na Casa de Seu Pai.

Infelizmente, na tentativa de agradar os crentes, promovemos um ambiente de “provedor de serviços/consumidor” que é envergonhado por vozes que “incomodam” e desafiam padrões de construção antibíblicos

This article is the final article in the four part presentation regarding  “righteous throne judgements”

Please read the previous articles as well to fully understand the righteous judgements that flow from His righteous laws.

Ultimately it is the Word of the Lord that judges all believers, irrespective of our ranking, without partiality or prejudice. This is an inescapable reality for all believers; no one escapes the internal scanning by the Word of God

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

We must allow the Word of the Lord to unclothe us; to expose our innermost vulnerabilities and areas of weakness; those areas that no one can see, except ourselves and the Lord. As the Word of God penetrates the depths of our soul, we are laid bare and  naked and open to Him to whom we are accountable.

The Word judges us because it is able to discern the thoughts and intents of our hearts. This is the inherent power that is resident in the Word of God that is living and powerful. The Word of the Lord is able to judge both the person with the speck in his eye and the person with the log in his eye, without partiality. The Word of the Lord is the great equaliser 

Paul struggled with understanding this. His delight was in the law of God, yet Paul struggled to reconcile this clear delight that he had whilst living with his “own thorn” in his side. He may have been greatly conflicted in his theology. 

Romans 7:21 I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. 22 For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25 I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!

So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin. No flesh can escape this resident, inherent vulnerability to miss the mark. His “own thorn” may have prompted him to testify on God using weak, base, foolish and despised things. Paul declares that he is unable to practice what he wills to do. The purpose of this thorn is to ensure that Paul does not exalt himself “above measure”; to keep him humble and grounded despite his access to abundant Divine revelations.

The solution to the thorn in the life of Paul did not mean God would remove the thorn, but that Paul would have to rely the all sufficiency of the amazing grace of our Lord Christ Jesus. Paul would make statements like this ……..

2 Corinthians 5:16 Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer.

Jesus declares the same thing 

John 7:24 Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”

We must factor a culture of confession and repentance into our devotion. Our confidence is knowing that we have an Advocate, Jesus Christ the righteous who represents us before the Father, 

1 John 2:1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

AN EXAMPLE OF RIGHTEOUS JUDGEMENT OF THE LORD

Mark 14:3 And being in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper, as He sat at the table, a woman came having an alabaster flask of very costly oil of spikenard. Then she broke the flask and poured it on His head. 4 But there were some who were indignant among themselves, and said, “Why was this fragrant oil wasted? 5 For it might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor.” And they criticized her sharply. 6 But Jesus said, “Let her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work for Me. 7 For you have the poor with you always, and whenever you wish you may do them good; but Me you do not have always. 8 She has done what she could. She has come beforehand to anoint My body for burial. 9 Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her.”

Whilst the woman was being criticised sharply for wasteful spending by those in the house of Simon the leper, Jesus intervened and declared that this woman had bestowed honour upon Him by preparing His body for burial. Whilst those sitting around Jesus were indignant at her offering, Jesus declared that her single act of honour would become an everlasting memorial. 

The righteous judgement of Jesus ….. leave her alone.

Por favor, leia também os artigos anteriores para entender completamente os julgamentos justos que fluem de Suas leis justas.

Em última análise, é a Palavra do Senhor que julga todos os crentes, independentemente de nossa posição, sem parcialidade ou preconceito. Esta é uma realidade inescapável para todos os crentes; ninguém escapa da varredura interna pela Palavra de Deus.

Hebreus 4:12-13 Porque a palavra de Deus é viva e eficaz, e mais penetrante do que qualquer espada de dois gumes, e penetra até a divisão da alma e do espírito, e das juntas e medulas, e é apta para discernir os pensamentos e intenções do coração. 13 E não há criatura oculta aos seus olhos, mas todas as coisas estão nuas e abertas aos olhos daquele a quem devemos prestar contas.

Devemos permitir que a Palavra do Senhor nos descubra; expor nossas vulnerabilidades e áreas de fraqueza mais íntimas; aquelas áreas que ninguém pode ver, exceto nós mesmos e o Senhor. À medida que a Palavra de Deus penetra nas profundezas de nossa alma, somos desnudados, nus e abertos Àquele a quem somos responsáveis.

A Palavra nos julga porque é capaz de discernir os pensamentos e intenções de nossos corações. Este é o poder inerente que reside na Palavra de Deus que é viva e poderosa. A Palavra do Senhor é capaz de julgar tanto a pessoa com o cisco no olho quanto a pessoa com a trave no olho, sem parcialidade. A Palavra do Senhor é o grande equalizador

Paulo lutou para entender isso. Seu deleite estava na lei de Deus, mas Paulo lutou para reconciliar esse claro deleite que ele tinha enquanto vivia com seu “próprio espinho” em seu lado. Ele pode ter entrado em grande conflito em sua teologia.

Romanos 7:21 Encontro, pois, uma lei, que o mal está presente em mim, aquele que quer fazer o bem. 22 Porque tenho prazer na lei de Deus, segundo o homem interior. 23 Mas vejo outra lei nos meus membros, que guerreia contra a lei do meu entendimento, e me leva cativo à lei do pecado que está nos meus membros. 24 Miserável homem que sou! Quem me livrará deste corpo de morte? 25 Dou graças a Deus por Jesus Cristo, nosso Senhor!

Assim, pois, com o entendimento eu mesmo sirvo à lei de Deus, mas com a carne à lei do pecado. Nenhuma carne pode escapar dessa vulnerabilidade inerente residente para errar o alvo. Seu “próprio espinho” pode tê-lo levado a testificar sobre Deus usando coisas fracas, baixas, tolas e desprezadas. Paulo declara que é incapaz de praticar o que deseja fazer. O propósito deste espinho é garantir que Paulo não se exalte “acima da medida”; para mantê-lo humilde e fundamentado, apesar de seu acesso a abundantes revelações divinas.

A solução para o espinho na vida de Paulo não significava que Deus removeria o espinho, mas que Paulo teria que confiar em toda a suficiência da maravilhosa graça de nosso Senhor Cristo Jesus. Paulo faria declarações como esta ……..

2 Coríntios 5:16 Portanto, de agora em diante, a ninguém consideramos segundo a carne. Embora tenhamos conhecido a Cristo segundo a carne, agora não o conhecemos mais.

Jesus declara a mesma coisa

João 7:24 Não julgueis segundo a aparência, mas julgai com justo juízo.”

Devemos levar em consideração uma cultura de confissão e arrependimento em nossa devoção. Nossa confiança é saber que temos um Advogado, Jesus Cristo, o justo, que nos representa perante o Pai,

1 João 2:1-2 Meus filhinhos, estas coisas vos escrevo para que não pequeis. E, se alguém pecar, temos um Advogado junto ao Pai, Jesus Cristo, o justo. 2 E ele mesmo é a propiciação pelos nossos pecados, e não somente pelos nossos, mas também por todo o mundo.

UM EXEMPLO DE JULGAMENTO JUSTO DO SENHOR

Marcos 14:3-9 Estando em Betânia, na casa de Simão, o leproso, estando ele assentado à mesa, veio uma mulher com um frasco de alabastro com óleo de nardo muito caro. Então ela quebrou o frasco e o derramou sobre a cabeça dele. 4 Mas alguns se indignaram entre si e disseram: “Por que se desperdiçou este óleo aromático? 5 Pois poderia ter sido vendido por mais de trezentos denários e dado aos pobres. E eles a criticaram duramente. 6 Mas Jesus disse: “Deixe-a. Por que você a incomoda? Ela fez uma boa obra para mim. 7 Pois você sempre tem os pobres convosco, e sempre que quiseres pode fazer-lhes o bem; mas a mim você nem sempre tem. 8 Ela fez o que pôde. Ela veio de antemão para ungir Meu corpo para o sepultamento. 9 Em verdade vos digo que, onde quer que este evangelho for pregado em todo o mundo, o que esta mulher fez também lhe será contado em memória.

Enquanto a mulher estava sendo duramente criticada por gastos desnecessários por aqueles na casa de Simão, o leproso, Jesus interveio e declarou que essa mulher havia concedido honra a Ele ao preparar Seu corpo para o sepultamento. Enquanto os que estavam sentados ao redor de Jesus estavam indignados com a oferta dela, Jesus declarou que seu único ato de honra se tornaria um memorial eterno.

O justo julgamento de Jesus ….. deixe-a em paz.

 We will continue with Part 3 of establishing His throne. Last week we spoke about how David had no hesitation in surrendering totally to the righteous judgement of the Lord because of his absolute confidence and trust in the “enduring mercies of the Lord”

Jesus came to fulfill the Law. The law served as our tutor to bring us to Christ, the Righteousness of God. 

Galatians 3:21 Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. 22 But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. 23 But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. 24 Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.

Romans 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit (practical righteousness)

1 Corinthians 1:30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— 31 that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the LORD.”

Jesus is the Fulfillment of the Law

Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled (Word of God endures forever)

Paul is writing to the Corinthian believers, explaining to them, that God’s recruitment process, has no limitation or restraint. We see this consistently throughout the scriptures where God uses the most unlikely individuals.

This does not mean that the Lord does not use talented and skilled individuals. Jesus had skilled individuals walking with Him. We are simply saying that He is not restricted in who He chooses. 

Paul speaks about God choosing weak things, foolish things, base things and despised things. Paul speaks of persons that God chooses who are structured to give glory to God. This is contrary to the demands of the king of Babylon ….

Daniel 1:3 Then the king instructed Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs, to bring some of the children of Israel and some of the king’s descendants and some of the nobles, 4 young men in whom there was no blemish, but good-looking, gifted in all wisdom, possessing knowledge and quick to understand, who had ability to serve in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the language and literature of the Chaldeans.

Paul cautions the Corinthians that no flesh should glory in His Presence. Our wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption is from God, given to us through His Son, Christ Jesus. The idea, therefore, is for the believer to glory in Him. We must be guarded, even in our testimonies and witnessing, that whilst we are grateful to carriers of grace whom we esteem and honor, the Lord remains the object of our praise and worship. 

We will refer to the matter that came before the court in Luke 18 

Luke 18:1 Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, 2 saying: “There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. 3 Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’ 4 And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, 5 yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.” 6 Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. 7 And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? 8 I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”

Jesus uses this parable to  address our petitions and supplications to the Lord. Many believers are presently preparing for a time of fasting and prayer. The first barrier of entry to engaging the supernatural or spiritual realm is to believe in the existence of a God who is a Spirit being. This parable ends with the chilling concern of the Lord  ………..

Luke 18:8 “when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”

Jesus is addressing the expectations of the widow who demands justice from the courts. Within a corrupt judiciary, outcomes are influenced not necessarily by evidence, but by external factors. Evidence and witnesses can be tampered with or intimidated.

Very often, it is the ordinary man or woman like the widow who struggle to obtain a righteous judgement. The judge had to finally relent  because of her continual appearances before his court to share her truth.

Jesus uses this parable to create a greater awareness among believers concerning access to Divine justice; where believers can expect the RIGHTEOUS JUDGEMENTS OF GOD to flow from the foundations of His throne.

Jesus, our Chief Advocate is ready and willing to represent us before the Heavenly Father to access righteous Divine judgement for the elect of God. This enables believers to come boldly before His throne of grace, to obtain mercy and grace. 

Luke 18:7 And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? 8 I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”

In summarising this case, Jesus is showing us that we should not have a high expectancy for justice from unjust systems. Our trust and confidence must be invested in structures that exactly represent the righteous judgements of His throne.

Paul informs the Corinthian believers of “saints” who will be able to judge righteously.

A structure that is configured in righteousness is able to judge angels; the wisdom of God is able to judge between brethren (Verse 5)

1 Corinthians 6:1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints? 2 Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 3 Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life? 4 If then you have judgments concerning things pertaining to this life, do you appoint those who are least esteemed by the church to judge? 5 I say this to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you, not even one, who will be able to judge between his brethren?

Continuaremos com a Parte 3 do estabelecimento de Seu trono. Na semana passada, falamos sobre como Davi não hesitou em se render totalmente ao justo julgamento do Senhor por causa de sua absoluta confiança nas “misericórdias duradouras do Senhor”

Jesus veio para cumprir a Lei. A lei serviu como nosso tutor para nos levar a Cristo, a Justiça de Deus.

Gálatas 3:21-25 A lei é então contra as promessas de Deus? De modo algum! Pois se tivesse sido dada uma lei que pudesse ter dado vida, a verdadeira justiça teria sido pela lei. 22 Mas a Escritura encerrou todos debaixo do pecado, para que a promessa pela fé em Jesus Cristo fosse dada aos que crêem. 23 Mas, antes que viesse a fé, éramos guardados pela lei, guardados para a fé que depois se havia de manifestar. 24 Portanto, a lei foi o nosso tutor para nos levar a Cristo, para que fôssemos justificados pela fé. 25 Mas, depois que a fé veio, não estamos mais sob um tutor.

Romanos 8:3-4 Pois o que a lei não podia fazer, visto que era fraca pela carne, Deus, enviando seu próprio Filho em semelhança da carne do pecado, e pelo pecado, condenou o pecado na carne, 4 para que a justiça da lei se cumprisse em nós, que não andamos segundo a carne, mas segundo o Espírito (justiça prática)

1 Coríntios 1:30-31 Mas vós sois dele em Cristo Jesus, o qual se tornou para nós sabedoria da parte de Deus, e justiça, e santificação, e redenção, 31 para que, como está escrito: “Quem se gloria, glorie-se no Senhor”.

Jesus é o cumprimento da lei

Mateus 5:17-18 Não penseis que vim destruir a lei ou os profetas; não vim destruir, mas cumprir. 18 Porque em verdade vos digo que, até que o céu e a terra passem, nem um jota ou um til se omitirá da lei, sem que tudo se cumpra.

Paulo está escrevendo aos crentes Coríntios, explicando-lhes que o processo de recrutamento de Deus não tem limitação ou restrição. Vemos isso de forma consistente em todas as escrituras, onde Deus usa os indivíduos mais improváveis.

Isso não significa que o Senhor não use pessoas talentosas e habilidosas. Jesus tinha pessoas habilidosas andando com Ele. Estamos simplesmente dizendo que Ele não está restrito em quem Ele escolhe.

Paulo fala sobre Deus escolhendo coisas fracas, coisas tolas, coisas vis e coisas desprezadas. Paulo fala de pessoas que Deus escolhe e que são estruturadas para dar glória a Deus. Isso é contrário às exigências do rei da Babilônia ….

Daniel 1:3-4 Então o rei mandou a Aspenaz, chefe dos seus eunucos, que trouxesse alguns dos filhos de Israel, e alguns dos descendentes do rei, e alguns dos nobres, 4 jovens em quem não havia defeito, mas bonitos, dotados de toda a sabedoria, sábios e de bom entendimento, que tinham capacidade para servir no palácio do rei, e a quem ensinassem a língua e a literatura dos caldeus.

Paulo adverte os coríntios de que nenhuma carne deve se gloriar em Sua Presença. Nossa sabedoria, justiça, santificação e redenção são de Deus, dadas a nós por meio de Seu Filho, Cristo Jesus. A ideia, portanto, é que o crente se glorie Nele. Devemos ser cautelosos, mesmo em nossos testemunhos e testemunhos, para que, embora sejamos gratos aos portadores da graça a quem estimamos e honramos, o Senhor continua sendo o objeto de nosso louvor e adoração.

Vamos nos referir ao assunto que veio ao tribunal em Lucas 18

Lucas 18:1-8 Propôs-lhes então uma parábola, que os homens orassem sempre e não desanimassem, 2 dizendo: Havia numa certa cidade um juiz que não temia a Deus, nem fazia caso de homem algum. 3 Ora, havia naquela cidade uma viúva; e ela se aproximou dele, dizendo: ‘Faze justiça para mim do meu adversário.’ 4 E ele não quis por um tempo; mas depois ele disse consigo mesmo: ‘Embora eu não tema a Deus nem considere o homem, 5 ainda assim, porque esta viúva me perturba, eu a vingarei, para que ela não me canse por sua vinda contínua. 6 Então o Senhor disse: “Ouçam o que o juiz injusto disse. 7 E Deus não vingará os seus próprios escolhidos que clamam a ele dia e noite, embora tenha muito tempo para com eles? 8 Digo-vos que depressa os vingará. No entanto, quando o Filho do Homem vier, Ele realmente encontrará fé na terra?”

Jesus usa essa parábola para dirigir nossas petições e súplicas ao Senhor. Muitos crentes estão atualmente se preparando para um tempo de jejum e oração. A primeira barreira de entrada para se envolver no reino sobrenatural ou espiritual é acreditar na existência de um Deus que é um ser espiritual. Esta parábola termina com a preocupação arrepiante do Senhor ………..

Lucas 18:8 “quando o Filho do Homem vier, achará realmente fé na terra?”

Jesus está atendendo às expectativas da viúva que exige justiça dos tribunais. Dentro de um judiciário corrupto, os resultados são influenciados não necessariamente por evidências, mas por fatores externos. Evidências e testemunhas podem ser adulteradas ou intimidadas.

Muitas vezes, é o homem ou a mulher comum, como a viúva, que luta para obter um julgamento justo. O juiz teve que finalmente ceder por causa de suas contínuas aparições perante o tribunal para compartilhar sua verdade.

Jesus usa essa parábola para criar uma maior consciência entre os crentes sobre o acesso à justiça divina; onde os crentes podem esperar que os JUSTOS JULGAMENTOS DE DEUS fluam dos fundamentos de Seu trono.

Jesus, nosso Advogado Chefe, está pronto e disposto a nos representar perante o Pai Celestial para acessar o justo julgamento Divino para os eleitos de Deus. Isso permite que os crentes venham com ousadia diante de Seu trono de graça, para obter misericórdia e graça.

Lucas 18:7-8 E não vingará Deus os seus escolhidos que clamam a ele dia e noite, embora tenha muito tempo para com eles? 8 Digo-vos que depressa os vingará. No entanto, quando o Filho do Homem vier, Ele realmente encontrará fé na terra?”

Ao resumir este caso, Jesus está nos mostrando que não devemos ter uma grande expectativa de justiça por parte de sistemas injustos. Nossa confiança deve ser investida em estruturas que representem exatamente os julgamentos justos de Seu trono.

Paulo informa os crentes coríntios sobre “santos” que serão capazes de julgar com justiça.

Uma estrutura que é configurada em retidão é capaz de julgar os anjos; a sabedoria de Deus é capaz de julgar entre irmãos (versículo 5)

1 Coríntios 6:1-5 Ousa algum de vós, tendo uma questão contra outro, ir a juízo perante os injustos, e não perante os santos? 2 Não sabeis que os santos julgarão o mundo? E se o mundo for julgado por você, você é indigno de julgar as menores coisas? 3 Não sabeis que havemos de julgar os anjos? Quanto mais, coisas que pertencem a esta vida? 4 Se, pois, tendes juízos acerca das coisas que pertencem a esta vida, designais para julgar os menos estimados pela igreja? 5 Digo isso para sua vergonha. É verdade que não há um homem sábio entre vocês, nem mesmo um, que seja capaz de julgar entre seus irmãos?

Throughout Old Testament scripture we find God’s prophets, some of His kings and His servants, His judges whom He raised …. these servants would judge and warn His people concerning violations of the Word of God that caused His people to stray from the path and descend into idolatry. These chosen human vessels are God’s agencies through which God would communicate and execute His will. Their voices represent “righteous throne judgements” These representative voices are essential to His people, in that they redirect the trust, reliance and confidence of His people back to His righteousness, justice, mercy and truth. A culture of endemic lawlessness will despise judgements released from His throne. 

David incurred the judgement of God when he committed the sin of taking a census of the people of God. There are specific, Divine protocols concerning taking a census. David also neglected to follow the protocols when he first attempted to bring the Ark of God to Jerusalem. It cautions us to note that whilst we may be zealous, passionate and have a “heart after God” we must be careful not to neglect God’s specific instructions, commands and protocols.

David forgot this specific protocol concerning the census.

Exodus 30:11 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: 12 “When you take the census of the children of Israel for their number, then every man shall give a ransom for himself to the LORD, when you number them, that there may be no plague among them when you number them. 13 This is what everyone among those who are numbered shall give: half a shekel according to the shekel of the sanctuary (a shekel is twenty gerahs). The half-shekel shall be an offering to the LORD. 14 Everyone included among those who are numbered, from twenty years old and above, shall give an offering to the LORD. 15 The rich shall not give more and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when you give an offering to the LORD, to make atonement for yourselves. 16 And you shall take the atonement money of the children of Israel, and shall appoint it for the service of the tabernacle of meeting, that it may be a memorial for the children of Israel before the LORD, to make atonement for yourselves.

This specific offering for atonement was not determined by a person’s income. It was the same for everyone. The rich and the poor had to pay the exact same amount. There was no partiality shown if a person desires to be counted.

David was judged by God for violating this protocol concerning the taking of a census.

Like we said earlier in this article, God’s agency of communication is His chosen human vessel, in this particular case it was His prophet Gad who represented him before David. 

God’s instruction to Gad was simple ……. “Go and tell David…..” (Please also refer to Jesus’ instructions in Matthew 18:15)

2 Samuel 24:10 And David’s heart condemned him after he had numbered the people. So David said to the LORD, “I have sinned greatly in what I have done; but now, I pray, O LORD, take away the iniquity of Your servant, for I have done very foolishly.” 11 Now when David arose in the morning, the word of the LORD came to the prophet Gad, David’s seer, saying, 12 “Go and tell David, ‘Thus says the LORD: “I offer you three things; choose one of them for yourself, that I may do it to you.” ’ ” 13 So Gad came to David and told him; and he said to him, “Shall seven years of famine come to you in your land? Or shall you flee three months before your enemies, while they pursue you? Or shall there be three days’ plague in your land? Now consider and see what answer I should take back to Him who sent me.”14 And David said to Gad, “I am in great distress. Please let us fall into the hand of the LORD, for His mercies are great; but do not let me fall into the hand of man.”

The same “heart after God’s own heart” within David condemned David. The same heart within a person that worships God passionately is also able to judge him. Praise God. 

David trusted in “falling into the hands of God”. Why? David knew that incorporated into His Divine Judgement would be His mercy. Meditate on the blood and the mercy seat on the Ark of the Covenant in the Most Holy Place. This is symbolic of His throne. In the wilderness, God would speak to His people from this place.

David’s trust was in the integrity of Divine Judgement which was proven correct when God instructed the angel of the Lord to stop when Jerusalem was moments away from being destroyed ……..

2 Samuel 24:16  “It is enough; now restrain your hand.”

This is the mercy of God that flows from His throne that produces “righteous judgement”. David was not confident to place his trust in a judiciary whose interpretation of the law did not exactly represent the integrity of the throne of God.

Jesus is our Righteousness. His words clarifies our perception and understanding concerning  “righteous judgement” that flow from His righteous laws. Jesus is our righteous Judge  (Chief Advocate)

The prophecy of Isaiah regarding Jesus, the Righteous Judge ………….

Isaiah 11:2 The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD. 3 His delight is in the fear of the LORD, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears; 4 But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. 5 Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, And faithfulness the belt of His waist.

We understand that we are judged, firstly from above ……….

God the Father

Psalms 9:7 But the LORD shall endure forever; He has prepared His throne for judgment. 8 He shall judge the world in righteousness, And He shall administer judgment for the peoples in uprightness.

Christ Jesus the Son

John 5:30 I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.

The Holy Spirit 

John 16:8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more;

They revealed the endemic evils in the culture and they forewarned the people of God of the impending judgements of God. The Babylonian exile should not come as a surprise to God’s people 

Jeremiah 18:7 The instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, to pull down, and to destroy it, 8 if that nation against whom I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I thought to bring upon it. 9 And the instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it, 10 if it does evil in My sight so that it does not obey My voice, then I will relent concerning the good with which I said I would benefit it. 11 “Now therefore, speak to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, ‘Thus says the LORD: “Behold, I am fashioning a disaster and devising a plan against you. Return now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.” ’ ”

GODLY KINGS

Hezekiah judged the prevailing culture of evil in Judah

2 Chronicles 29:3 In the first year of his reign, in the first month, he opened the doors of the house of the LORD and repaired them. 4 Then he brought in the priests and the Levites, and gathered them in the East Square, 5 and said to them: “Hear me, Levites! Now sanctify yourselves, sanctify the house of the LORD God of your fathers, and carry out the rubbish from the holy place. 6 For our fathers have trespassed and done evil in the eyes of the LORD our God; they have forsaken Him, have turned their faces away from the dwelling place of the LORD, and turned their backs on Him. 7 They have also shut up the doors of the vestibule, put out the lamps, and have not burned incense or offered burnt offerings in the holy place to the God of Israel. 8 Therefore the wrath of the LORD fell upon Judah and Jerusalem, and He has given them up to trouble, to desolation, and to jeering, as you see with your eyes. 9 For indeed, because of this our fathers have fallen by the sword; and our sons, our daughters, and our wives are in captivity.

JUDGES

Judges 21:25 In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.

The people of God did not follow the laws of God. This resulted in God allowing external enemies to defeat and rule over them. God raises the 12 judges who would bring the nation back to following the ways of God

Em todas as escrituras do Antigo Testamento, encontramos os profetas de Deus, alguns de Seus reis e servos, Seus juízes que Ele ressuscitou. Esses servos julgariam e advertiriam Seu povo sobre violações da Palavra de Deus que fizeram com que Seu povo se desviasse do caminho e caísse na idolatria. Esses vasos humanos escolhidos são os agentes de Deus por meio dos quais Deus se comunicaria e executaria Sua vontade. Suas vozes representam “julgamentos justos do trono” Essas vozes representativas são essenciais para o Seu povo, na medida em que redirecionam a confiança, a confiança e a confiança de Seu povo de volta à Sua retidão, justiça, misericórdia e verdade. Esta oferta específica para expiação não era determinada pela renda de uma pessoa. Foi o mesmo para todos. Os ricos e os pobres tiveram que pagar exatamente a mesma quantia. Não houve parcialidade mostrada se uma pessoa deseja ser contada.

Davi foi julgado por Deus por violar este protocolo relativo à realização de um censo.

Como dissemos anteriormente neste artigo, a agência de comunicação de Deus é Seu vaso humano escolhido, neste caso particular foi Seu profeta Gade quem o representou diante de Davi.

A instrução de Deus a Gade foi simples ……. “Vá e diga a Davi…..” (Consulte também as instruções de Jesus em Mateus 18:15)

2 Samuel 24:10-14 E o coração de Davi o condenou, depois que ele contou o povo. Então Davi disse ao Senhor: “Pequei muito no que fiz; mas agora, peço-lhe, ó Senhor, que tire a iniqüidade do teu servo, porque procedi mui loucamente.” 11 Quando Davi se levantou pela manhã, veio a palavra do Senhor ao profeta Gade, vidente de Davi, dizendo: 12 “Vá e diga a Davi: ‘Assim diz o Senhor: “Eu lhe ofereço três coisas; escolhe um deles para ti, para que eu o faça contigo.” 13 Então Gade veio a Davi e lhe contou; e ele lhe disse: “Sete anos de fome virão sobre você em sua terra? O mesmo “coração segundo o coração de Deus” dentro de Davi condenou Davi. O mesmo coração dentro de uma pessoa que adora a Deus apaixonadamente também é capaz de julgá-la. Louvado seja Deus.

Davi confiou em “cair nas mãos de Deus”. Por que? Davi sabia que incorporada em Seu Julgamento Divino estaria Sua misericórdia. Medite no sangue e no propiciatório da Arca da Aliança no Lugar Santíssimo. Isso é o simbolismo de Seu trono. No deserto, Deus falaria ao Seu povo deste lugar.

A confiança de Davi estava na integridade do Juízo Divino, que se provou correto quando Deus instruiu o anjo do Senhor a parar quando Jerusalém estava a momentos de ser destruída ……..

2 Samuel 24:16 “Basta; agora contenha sua mão.”

Esta é a misericórdia de Deus que flui de Seu trono que produz “julgamento justo”. Davi não estava confiante em depositar sua confiança em um judiciário cuja interpretação da lei não representava exatamente a integridade do trono de Deus.

Jesus é a nossa Justiça. Suas palavras esclarecem nossa percepção e compreensão sobre o “julgamento justo” que flui de Suas leis justas. Jesus é nosso justo Juiz (Advogado Chefe)

A profecia de Isaías a respeito de Jesus, o Justo Juiz ………….

Isaías 11:2-5 O Espírito do Senhor repousará sobre ele, o Espírito de sabedoria e entendimento, o Espírito de conselho e fortaleza, o Espírito de conhecimento e de temor do Senhor. 3 O seu prazer está no temor do SENHOR, e não julgará pela vista dos seus olhos, nem decidirá pelo ouvir dos seus ouvidos; 4 Mas com justiça julgará os pobres, e decidirá com eqüidade pelos mansos da terra; Ele ferirá a terra com a vara da sua boca, e com o sopro dos seus lábios matará os ímpios. 5 A justiça será o cinto dos seus lombos, e a fidelidade o cinto dos seus lombos.

Entendemos que somos julgados, em primeiro lugar, de cima ……….

Eles revelaram os males endêmicos na cultura e avisaram o povo de Deus sobre os julgamentos iminentes de Deus. O exílio babilônico não deve ser uma surpresa para o povo de Deus.

Jeremias 18:7-11 No instante em que eu falar a respeito de uma nação e de um reino, para arrancá-la, para derrubá-la e para destruí-la, 8 se aquela nação contra a qual falei se converter da sua maldade, arrepender-me-ei da desgraça que pensei trazer sobre ela. 9 E no instante em que eu falar a respeito de uma nação e de um reino, para edificá-lo e plantá-lo, 10 se ele fizer o que é mau aos meus olhos, de modo que não obedeça à minha voz, então me arrependerei do bem com que disse que o beneficiaria. 11 Agora, pois, fala aos homens de Judá e aos habitantes de Jerusalém, dizendo: Assim diz o Senhor: Eis que estou a fazer uma calamidade e a tramar um plano contra ti. Ezequias julgou a cultura predominante do mal em Judá

Juízes

Juízes 21:25 Naqueles dias não havia rei em Israel; cada um fez o que era certo aos seus próprios olhos.

O povo de Deus não seguiu as leis de Deus. Isso resultou em Deus permitindo que inimigos externos os derrotassem e governassem. Deus levanta os 12 juízes que trariam a nação de volta a seguir os caminhos de Deus

Deuteronomy 4:5 “Surely I have taught you statutes and judgments, just as the LORD my God commanded me, that you should act according to them in the land which you go to possess. 6 Therefore be careful to observe them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes, and say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’ 7 “For what great nation is there that has God so near to it, as the LORD our God is to us, for whatever reason we may call upon Him? 8 And what great nation is there that has such statutes and righteous judgments as are in all this law which I set before you this day? 9 Only take heed to yourself, and diligently keep yourself, lest you forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. And teach them to your children and your grandchildren

These are perilous times where anarchy and lawlessness is rampant. It would appear that the resultant cloud of darkness has obscured the terms of reference for the people of God. 

Every governing structure on the earth, whether in the secular corporate sector, government, private business sector or any organisation in any sector is founded on a bedrock of policies and protocols that provide direction and leadership concerning the operation of that particular entity.

This is no different for the people of God. There are clear directives and instructions given to this great community of believers whose heritage is unparalleled. 

Righteousness and justice are the foundational, “stand out” characteristic features of His throne. Believers understand that the Lord Jesus is our Righteousness. However, as His representatives and bearers of His image and nature, we have the responsibility to reveal the integrity of His righteousness and His justice in our relationships with those around us.

His justice is inextricably embedded in His righteous statutes and judgements, to the Word of God.

Jesus Himself instructs His disciples to first seek the kingdom of God AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS. 

Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God (and His righteousness), and all these things shall be added to you.

The Greek word for “seek” is ………….. zētéō – to seek after, look for, strive to find. (CWSB Dictionary)

As we grow in our practical application of His righteousness, His promise is that those things that we are anxious about will be added to us (growth)

Deuteronomy 32:4 He is the Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are justice, a God of truth and without injustice; righteous and upright is He

This is the Rock that we are called to represent. All His ways are JUSTICE; in His entire being there is no injustice – A God of truth

We may dwell in the midst of great darkness and evil like Paul explains to Timothy; however, this also provides believers with a great opportunity to reveal the Light of His righteous judgements. 

2 Timothy 3:1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Psalms 97:2 Clouds and darkness surround Him; Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.

It is in the MIDST OF THIS GREAT DARKNESS, the Lord reigns from His throne, executing His justice that reveals His righteousness.

Jesus speaks to the Jews about the need for “righteous judgement”. The Son of God brings clarity to the Jews’ interpretation of what constitutes “righteous judgement”

John 7:21 Jesus answered and said to them, “I did one work, and you all marvel. 22 Moses therefore gave you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath. 23 If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath, so that the law of Moses should not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath? 24 Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.

Deuteronômio 4:5-9 “Certamente te ensinei estatutos e juízos, como o Senhor meu Deus me ordenou, para que tu procedesses segundo eles na terra que fores possuir. 6 Portanto, tende cuidado em observá-los; porque esta é a vossa sabedoria e o vosso entendimento aos olhos dos povos que ouvirão todos estes estatutos e dirão: Certamente esta grande nação é um povo sábio e entendido. 7 Pois qual é a grande nação que tem Deus tão perto de si, como o Senhor nosso Deus está conosco, por qualquer razão que o invocamos? 8 E que grande nação há que tenha estatutos e juízos justos como os que estão em toda esta lei que hoje vos proponho? 9 Tão-somente guarda por ti mesmo, e guarda-te diligentemente, para que não te esqueças das coisas que os teus olhos viram, e para que não se afastem do teu coração todos os dias da tua vida. E ensine-os a seus filhos e netos.

Estes são tempos perigosos em que a anarquia e a ilegalidade são desenfreadas. Parece que a nuvem de escuridão resultante obscureceu os termos de referência para o povo de Deus.

Toda estrutura de governo na terra, seja no setor corporativo secular, no governo, no setor empresarial privado ou em qualquer organização em qualquer setor, é fundada em uma base de políticas e protocolos que fornecem direção e liderança em relação à operação dessa entidade em particular.

Isso não é diferente para o povo de Deus. Existem diretrizes e instruções claras dadas a esta grande comunidade de crentes cuja herança é incomparável.

A retidão e a justiça são os traços característicos fundamentais e “destacados” de Seu trono. Os crentes entendem que o Senhor Jesus é a nossa Justiça. No entanto, como Seus representantes e portadores de Sua imagem e natureza, temos a responsabilidade de revelar a integridade de Sua retidão e justiça em nossos relacionamentos com as pessoas ao nosso redor.

Sua justiça está inextricavelmente embutida em Seus estatutos e julgamentos justos, para a Palavra de Deus.

O próprio Jesus instrui Seus discípulos a buscar primeiro o reino de Deus E SUA JUSTIÇA.

Mateus 6:33 Mas buscai primeiro o reino de Deus (e a sua justiça), e todas estas coisas vos serão acrescentadas.

A palavra grega para “buscar” é ………….. zētéō – procurar, buscar, esforçar-se para encontrar. (Dicionário CWSB)

À medida que crescemos em nossa aplicação prática de Sua justiça, Sua promessa é que as coisas pelas quais estamos ansiosos serão acrescentadas a nós (crescimento).

Deuteronômio 32:4 Ele é a Rocha, a Sua obra é perfeita; pois todos os Seus caminhos são justiça, um Deus de verdade e sem injustiça; justo e reto é Ele.

Esta é a Rocha que somos chamados a representar. Todos os Seus caminhos são JUSTIÇA; em todo o Seu ser não há injustiça – Um Deus de verdade.

Podemos habitar no meio de grandes trevas e maldades como Paulo explica a Timóteo; no entanto, isso também oferece aos crentes uma grande oportunidade de revelar a Luz de Seus julgamentos justos.

2 Timóteo 3:1-7 1 Sabe, porém, isto, que nos últimos dias sobrevirão tempos trabalhosos: 2 Porque os homens serão amantes de si mesmos, avarentos, presunçosos, soberbos, blasfemadores, desobedientes a pais e mães, ingratos, profanos, 3 desamorosos, implacáveis, caluniadores, sem domínio próprio, brutais, desprezadores do bem, 4 traidores, teimosos, soberbos, mais amigos dos prazeres do que amigos de Deus, 5 tendo aparência de piedade, mas negando o seu poder. Salmos 97:2 Nuvens e trevas o cercam; A retidão e a justiça são o fundamento de Seu trono.

É no MEIO DESTA GRANDE ESCURIDÃO, que o Senhor reina de Seu trono, executando Sua justiça que revela Sua justiça.

Jesus fala aos judeus sobre a necessidade de um “julgamento justo”. O Filho de Deus traz clareza à interpretação dos judeus sobre o que constitui “julgamento justo”

João 7:21-24 21 Respondeu-lhes Jesus: Fiz uma só obra, e todos vós vos admirais. 22 Portanto, Moisés lhes deu a circuncisão (não que seja de Moisés, mas dos patriarcas), e vocês circuncidarão um homem no sábado. 23 Se um homem recebe a circuncisão no sábado, para que a lei de Moisés não seja violada, vocês estão irados comigo porque eu fiz um homem completamente bom no sábado? 24 Não julgueis segundo a aparência, mas julgai com justo juízo.

For the believer, Jesus justified all sinners who have accepted Him as their Lord and Saviour. Although we were dead in our trespasses through Adam, Christ gave us the “free gift of righteousness”

We did not work for this gift; it is free for all who would believe in Jesus and accept Jesus as their Saviour and Redeemer; we have been saved by grace.

Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned— 13 (For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come. 15 But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. 16 And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification. 17 For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)

Paul declares to the Corinthians that the calling of believers who are perceived as “foolish, weak, base and despised” by the world has a distinct purpose – to reveal the workmanship of God; so that our boast may be in God, and not in our works; that our Lord may be glorified.

1 Corinthians 1:30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— 31 that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the LORD.”

Christ is our righteousness, sanctification and redemption. This is the amazing grace of God, a gift from the Father, made available and accessible to all humanity through the sacrificial death of His Son Jesus on the Cross

Habakkuk prophesied in the face of impending danger and captivity. He declared that, inspite of the darkness, he would rejoice and trust in the God of his salvation. He declared that the Lord God is his strength. In times of deep darkness on the earth, it is essential for our spiritual well being to harness spiritual strength from the Lord of our salvation.

Habakkuk 3:17 Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls— 18 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. 19 The LORD God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills.

THE PRACTICAL DEMAND ON THE EARTH – REVEALING THE IMAGE AND NATURE OF CHRIST 

The demand made upon believers is in our representation of Christ on the earth. Believers should grow progressively in their sanctification, practically, from being slaves of lawlessness to slaves of righteousness. Believers have the responsibility to become more and more like Christ, for the purpose of revealing His image and nature.

Romans 6:15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! 16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? 17 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. 18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. 19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.

Our credibility as effective witnesses for the workmanship of the Lord is seriously enhanced as we embrace the demand for progressive consecration and sanctification,

JUSTIÇA EM CRISTO – DEMANDA POR REPRESENTAÇÃO

Em breve, discutiremos o assunto da JUSTIÇA DE DEUS, completamente quando nossos estudos forem retomados em fevereiro de 2025.

Para o crente, Jesus justificou todos os pecadores que O aceitaram como seu Senhor e Salvador. Embora estivéssemos mortos em nossas falhas por meio de Adão, Cristo nos deu o “dom gratuito da justiça”

Não trabalhamos por esse presente; é gratuito para todos os que crerem em Jesus e aceitarem Jesus como seu Salvador e Redentor; fomos salvos pela graça.

Romanos 5:12-17 Portanto, assim como por um só homem entrou o pecado no mundo, e pelo pecado a morte, assim também a morte passou a todos os homens, porque todos pecaram, (Porque até a lei estava o pecado no mundo, mas o pecado não é imputado quando não há lei. Todavia a morte reinou desde Adão até Moisés, mesmo sobre aqueles que não pecaram à semelhança da transgressão de Adão, que é um tipo dAquele que havia de vir. Mas o dom gratuito não é como a ofensa. Porque, se pela ofensa de um só homem muitos morreram, muito mais a graça de Deus e o dom pela graça de um só homem, Jesus Cristo, abundou sobre muitos. E o dom não é como aquele que veio por meio daquele que pecou. Pois o julgamento que veio de uma ofensa resultou em condenação, mas o dom gratuito que veio de muitas ofensas resultou em justificação. Porque, se por ofensa de um só reinou a morte por meio de um só, muito mais os que recebem a abundância da graça e do dom da justiça reinarão em vida por meio de um só, Jesus Cristo.)

Paulo declara aos coríntios que o chamado dos crentes que são percebidos como “tolos, fracos, vis e desprezados” pelo mundo tem um propósito distinto – revelar a obra de Deus; para que nossa glória esteja em Deus, e não em nossas obras; para que nosso Senhor seja glorificado.

1 Coríntios 1:30-31 Mas vós sois dele em Cristo Jesus, o qual se tornou para nós sabedoria da parte de Deus, e justiça, e santificação, e redenção, para que, como está escrito: “Quem se gloria, glorie-se no Senhor”.

Cristo é nossa justiça, santificação e redenção. Esta é a maravilhosa graça de Deus, um dom do Pai, disponibilizado e acessível a toda a humanidade através da morte sacrificial de Seu Filho Jesus na Cruz.

Habacuque profetizou em face do perigo iminente e do cativeiro. Ele declarou que, apesar das trevas, ele se regozijaria e confiaria no Deus de sua salvação. Ele declarou que o Senhor Deus é sua força. Em tempos de profunda escuridão na Terra, é essencial para nosso bem-estar espiritual aproveitar a força espiritual do Senhor de nossa salvação.

Habacuque 3:17-19 Ainda que a figueira não floresça, nem haja fruto nas videiras; Ainda que falte o trabalho da oliveira, e os campos não produzam alimento; Ainda que o rebanho seja extirpado do aprisco, e não haja gado nos estábulos, Contudo me alegrarei no Senhor, regozijar-me-ei no Deus da minha salvação. O Senhor Deus é a minha força; Ele fará meus pés como pés de veado, e me fará andar sobre minhas altas colinas.

A EXIGÊNCIA PRÁTICA NA TERRA – REVELANDO A IMAGEM E A NATUREZA DE CRISTO

A exigência feita aos crentes está em nossa representação de Cristo na terra. Os crentes devem crescer progressivamente em sua santificação, praticamente, de escravos da iniquidade para escravos da justiça. Os crentes têm a responsabilidade de se tornarem cada vez mais semelhantes a Cristo, com o propósito de revelar Sua imagem e natureza.

Romanos 6:15-19 E então? Pecaremos porque não estamos debaixo da lei, mas debaixo da graça? De modo algum! Não sabeis vós que aqueles a quem vos apresentais como escravos para obedecer, sois servos daquele a quem obedeceis, quer do pecado que leva à morte, quer da obediência que conduz à justiça? Mas graças a Deus porque, sendo escravos do pecado, obedecestes de coração à forma de doutrina a que fostes entregues. E, libertados do pecado, vos tornastes escravos da justiça. Falo em termos humanos por causa da fraqueza da sua carne. Pois, assim como vocês apresentaram seus membros como escravos da impureza e da iniquidade que leva a mais iniquidade, agora apresenteis seus membros como escravos da justiça para a santidade.

Nossa credibilidade como testemunhas eficazes da obra do Senhor é seriamente reforçada à medida que abraçamos a demanda por consagração e santificação progressivas.
