AN APOSTOLIC DECLARATION TO THE CHURCH IN EGYPT

The Church in Egypt is presently experiencing great persecution. In the present political crisis over 500 Christians have lost their lives. Their only offence is that they are Christians. Churches, monasteries, schools, businesses, houses belonging to Christians are being targeted.
This letter is a collage of a few verses of the Apostle Paul’s writings that I have put together to serve as an encouragement to the believers in Egypt.

The Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the believers in Egypt….
1, Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God which He promised before through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures, concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh, and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for His name, among whom you, Egypt, ALSO are the called of Jesus Christ;
To all who are in Egypt, beloved of God, called to be saints:
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written:
“For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
God will fight for us. Hold your peace.
Amen.

THE SYNERGY BETWEEN THE WORD OF GOD AND THE DECLARATION OF THE PROPHET

There is a vibrant synergy between the Word of the Lord and the declaration of His prophet…

Concerning sons

There is the act of God…. it is God who opens the womb.
Genesis 29:31-32
31 When the Lord saw that Leah was unloved, He opened her womb; but Rachel was barren. 32 So Leah conceived and bore a son, and she called his name Reuben; for she said, “The Lord has surely looked on my affliction. Now therefore, my husband will love me.”

There is the Word that the prophet of God declares….
The declaration of Elisha
2 Kings 4:16-17
Then he said, “About this time next year you shall embrace a son.”
And she said, “No, my lord. Man of God, do not lie to your maidservant!”
17 But the woman conceived, and bore a son when the appointed time had come, of which Elisha had told her.

Concerning our finances, God declares….

Deuteronomy 8:18
“And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

There is the Word that the prophet of God declares….
2 Kings 7:1
1 Then Elisha said, “Hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord: ‘Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria. ’”

Concerning the rain, which a picture of blessings and seasons of refreshing, God declares….

Deuteronomy 11:14
I will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil.

Then there is the word that the prophet of God declares….
1 Kings 18:41
41 Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.”

As prophets of God we simply declare what God has already said… We simply declare the desires and intentions of God….that which is in His heart and His mind…
The word of the Lord to Hezekiah
2 Kings 20:1
1 In those days Hezekiah was sick and near death. And Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, went to him and said to him, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die, and not live. ’”

As Hezekiah began to pray, cry bitterly and he reminded God of his acts of reformation, the heart and mind of God began to change.
As the mind and heart of God changes, His Word changed….
Therefore, it must follow that the prophecy must also change.
God is still searching for a faithful prophet.

The prophet Isaiah was instructed to “return” and declare new life, an extended life of fifteen years to Hezekiah..
2 Kings 20:5
“Return and tell Hezekiah the leader of My people, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord.

There must be a vibrant synergy between the mind of God which is revealed through His Word and the utterances of God’s prophet.
We are not prophets who declare the desires and intentions of an institution…. We are God’s prophets.
Let the prophets of God speak!

32 E Léia concebeu e deu à luz um filho, a quem chamou Rúben; pois disse: Porque o Senhor atendeu à minha aflição; agora me amará meu marido.

14 darei a chuva da tua terra a seu tempo, a temporã e a serôdia, para que recolhas o teu grão, o teu mosto e o teu azeite;

A palavra do Senhor a Ezequias
2 Reis 20:1

2 Reis 20:5
5 Volta, e dize a Ezequias, príncipe do meu povo: Assim diz o Senhor Deus de teu pai Davi: Ouvi a tua oração, e vi as tuas lágrimas.

1 Samuel 12: 3-5
3 Here I am. Witness against me before the Lord and before His anointed: Whose ox have I taken, or whose donkey have I taken, or whom have I cheated? Whom have I oppressed, or from whose hand have I received any bribe with which to blind my eyes? I will restore it to you.”
4 And they said, “You have not cheated us or oppressed us, nor have you taken anything from any man’s hand.”
5 Then he said to them, “The Lord is witness against you, and His anointed is witness this day, that you have not found anything in my hand.”
And they answered, “ He is witness.”

This is the ultimate standard in a prophet’s integrity. The multitude must be able to declare ” He is witness”.
There is very little a man of God can do with a mob; a gang that is intent on appeasing the desires of their flesh. They wanted what the other nations had … A king. This was not God’s intended plan for His people. He wanted Samuel and his sons to continue, irrespective of their personal challenges.
We must be careful about what we covet… About what stirs up the spirit of jealousy. God may just give you the desires of your heart … Saul, who will ultimately strip you of everything.
As a leader who is confronted by this Goliath, a secular humanistic system of governance and rulership…be set free today with this Word…
Don’t take the rebellion of the multitude personally
It is not about you, it is about who you represent.

1 Samuel 8:7
And the Lord said to Samuel, “Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them.

This is the bottom line. Don’t beat yourself up as God’s ambassador. This multitude has rejected God….not you. Be free today.

However, warn the people:
1 Samuel 8:9
Now therefore, heed their voice. However, you shall solemnly forewarn them, and show them the behavior of the king who will reign over them.”

The Lord bless you.

1 Samuel 12
3 Eis-me aqui! testificai contra mim perante o Senhor, e perante o seu ungido.

Seja livre hoje.

No entanto, a avisar o povo:
1 Samuel 8

Ezekiel 43:2
And behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east. His voice was like the sound of many waters; and the earth shone with His glory.

Revelation 1:15
His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters;

Our individual sound must flow into a place of harmony ….. Which is Christ Himself
This is a place where diverse sounds meet to complement one another in absolute harmony…. This is picture of a musical ensemble of singers…. A mass choir
A perfect joining of diverse voices….
Although there are various sounds made by the water…. Lapping sounds of the waves as they splash against the limestone and hurry back, the gentle trickle of the little brook, the substance still remains the water…. A symbol of the spirit filled word of the Lord.

Father, make us one.
These streams must empty into the River of Life, who is Christ Himself
This is when we make melody in our hearts….

It is within this harmonious sound that the voice of God will be heard in great clarity. This experience will bring sudden conviction to all men; it will cause greater momentum towards Christ.
Our conversations and dialogue with one another will spoken from a spirit filled heart… One that reflects the peace of God that passes all understanding.

Ephesians 5:19
speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,

This will be a melody that manifests thanksgiving to God in the name of Christ
This is when one stream submits to another stream in the fear of God
Grace, peace and love to all.

THERE IS A RIVER

Revelation 22:1
1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.

Water is not like sand… You can offload sand and all it will do is to pile up, not so with water…water finds it’s own level.
Water will impact everything that is in it’s path….

The pure river of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.
We know that the pure river is primarily a reference to the Spirit filled Word of the Lord
Crystal clear …. These are waters that allow light to pass through
From the surface you can see the sand
Last year I told you about pollution and contamination of the rivers of the world…
But there is river that flows from God, that is free of all pollution, that is crystal clear….
The clarity and purity on the surface is exactly the same at the bed of the river
These waters that retain their clarity at any depth….
They easily allow Light to pass through….Christ shines in these waters
These waters are free from obscurity, clear…. One is able to see right to the bottom, the bed rock.

I believe that even in our ministry, there must be this same clarity
We should resist the urge from “itching ear” audiences that love….
To hear philosophy, and the basic principles of the world

There is a river that flows from God, whose waters are crystal clear
Where there is consistency in the purity and the clarity of the Word

The greatest most potent truths in the Word needs no archaeological work. If we have to plunder the depths of the waters the clarity and purity need to be consistent.

So this river will touch everything in it’s path….Christ is the shining light that is transmitted through it’s waters …. It will touch everyone that is positioned in it’s path… Where Christ is manifested, that is where the river runs..

Há um rio

Apocalipse 22

A MOUTH FULL OF HIS PRAISE

Psalms 34:1-5
1 I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
3 Oh, magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together.
4 I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.
5 They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed.

David could have spoke about his challenges and the difficult circumstances surrounding his life; but he spoke of a calculated decision that he had made; inspite of everything that is going on in his life, he has determined to bless the Lord in all seasons, every minute of every hour, every hour of every day, every day of every month, every month of every year, year after year.

He also declares that the praises of the Lord shall dwell continually in his mouth. If a believer’s mouth were to be examined, one must find praise.

If we applied our traditional understanding of praise….which is clapping hands, loud music and fast songs….
Then how can we praise when we go to work?
We can’t take our guitar and the amplifier to work?
How can we praise God continually when we go to the bank….
We can’t take the drum set and go to the bank…..
You can’t even use your cell phone in the bank…

So from all this, we can safely conclude ONE THING…..
Praise is much more than what we do in the church for 30 minutes on a Sunday morning….
Praise is everything that leaves our mouth…

There is an interesting word that David associates with praise. The word radiant….
It comes the Hebrew word nāhar: a verb meaning to flow, to stream. It describes the movement of something like the flow of a river or stream: a flow of people and nations.

Now what does this mean to us?
Simply, an absence of radiance, the inability for believers to flow together in the accomplishment of our assignments, is a clear symptom of an absence of praise in our mouths.
Here is the litmus test….
Does your prayer praise God or yourself?
(Luke 18:11
The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector.)
Does your song praise God or has the name of Jesus been edited out of the lyrics for commercial success?
Does your preaching and teaching advertise, praise and glorify and magnify Jesus the Christ, or does it praise your ministry, your pet doctrines, your denomination or network’s success.
An absence of a culture of praise will result in an absence of radiance.
An absence of the ability to flow …. We become spiritually viscous…too thick to flow in the winters of our lives.
Our viscosity improver is praise.
God bless you.

Three of Job’s friends left home with good intentions to minister to their friend Job who had experienced great loss. At the end of their ministry time with Job, this is how Job summed up the effectiveness of their ministry :

WORTHLESS PHYSICIANS, MISERABLE COMFORTERS, WORDS OF WIND

Job 13:1-5
1 “Behold, my eye has seen all this, My ear has heard and understood it.
2 What you know, I also know; I am not inferior to you.
3 But I would speak to the Almighty, And I desire to reason with God.
4 But you forgers of lies, You are all worthless physicians.
5 Oh, that you would be silent, And it would be your wisdom!

Job 16:1-5
1 Then Job answered and said:
2 “I have heard many such things; Miserable comforters are you all!
3 Shall words of wind have an end? Or what provokes you that you answer?
4 I also could speak as you do, If your soul were in my soul’s place.
I could heap up words against you, And shake my head at you;
5 But I would strengthen you with my mouth, And the comfort of my lips would relieve your grief.

Job also declared in Ch 16:1 that if the tables were reversed, he would choose to strengthened his friend that needed resuscitation. In Ch 13:1-2 Job declares that he also knows the scriptures, that he heard it all before; that he studied in the same Bible College. He knows about the blessings and curses of Deuteronomy 28. He knows the Ten Commandments. He knows the Laws and Statutes. What Job required is for a manifestation of the Christ through the ministry of these men that he called his friends…

Isaiah 61:1-3
1 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn,
3 To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

There is a huge demand for authentic ministry as the world is failing to provide solutions to the problems of the people… The question is this:
Are you a worthless physician, a miserable comforter or are you anointed as an agency of God to bring restoration and recovery ?
Elihu lets us into a secret….
Job 32:8
But there is a spirit in man,
And the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding.

I encourage all of us to allow that spirit that is fanned by the breath of the Almighty to impregnate our ministry.

Eu poderia amontoar palavras contra vós, e balançar a cabeça em você;

E a abertura de prisão aos presos;
O óleo da alegria em vez de tristeza, vestes de louvor em vez de espírito angustiado;

32:8 trabalho
Mas há um espírito no homem,
E o sopro do Todo-Poderoso lhe dá compreensão.

This was probably one of my most productive journeys to Brazil. I resisted the temptation to travel to Paraiba; chose rather to spend time discipling and mentoring the sons and their households with regards to the demands of this present season in God.
Our Family Camp was an amazing success. Over 60 leaders and workers gathered in a secluded retreat in Mozamba on the Green Coast where we taught and shared in a dialogue. Many young people were baptized in the Holy Spirit and began speaking in strange tongues. A time of spiritual refreshing both in Spirit and in the Word. We taught from the ABC bible study programme.
We also had wonderful times of fellowship, singing psalms one to another and encouraging one another. The CCF family was greatly strengthened and they look forward to 2014 (I don’t mean the World Cup). The spirit of family has returned. We want to thank Ap Pedro Amancio and Ps Nilo Nogueira and their families for all their efforts in making this camp a huge success.
It was also great to be joined by Heinz Hofstetter from Switzerland. We sent him onwards to Manaus in the Amazonas where he connected with Ps Geraldo and Tamara Maximo and their household of faith. The people there were greatly provoked, challenged and strengthened by his ministry there. Thank you Ps Geraldo for an open door.

THE WORD OF THE LORD….
Luke 8:50-56
But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, “ Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.” 51 When He came into the house, He permitted no one to go in except Peter, James, and John, and the father and mother of the girl. 52 Now all wept and mourned for her; but He said, “ Do not weep; she is not dead, but sleeping.” 53 And they ridiculed Him, knowing that she was dead.
54 But He put them all outside, took her by the hand and called, saying, “ Little girl, arise.” 55 Then her spirit returned, and she arose immediately.

There are those who will mock and ridicule us as we attempt to do that which is impossible in their eyes….. That which cannot be achieved according to their human understanding that has serious limitations. Remember the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead is able to resurrect us from spiritual death… This is the Indwelling Spirit…
Romans 8:11-14
But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

The mockers, doubters and unbelievers want the girl, a picture of the church to “continue in her sleeping” mode. Apostolic grace will bring life into any dead environment, but it demands that the mockers, scorners, unbelievers are put outside. We believe that the church will be spiritually restored as it’s spirit will return.

NIGERIA

I am grateful to the Lord for a wonderful journey into Nigeria. The Churches in Lagos and Abeokuta received me with love and kindness. The Word of the Lord was celebrated with great joy and many lives were visibly impacted. New relationships have formed through these meetings.
I thank God for Pastors John Ilori and his family as well as Dr Timothy and his family for their hospitality.
I taught the ABC Bible Study lesson Engineering Details during my entire time in Lagos. This was a pioneering journey; although there were many logistical challenges, the Lord strengthened us and kept us motivated and focussed throughout our journey. We were able to fix our eyes on the purpose of the assignment. To God be all Glory, Honour and Praise!

Here is an inspirational article by Nigerian Dele Momodu:

This is the story of a young boy whose parents were murdered during 2002 riots in Kaduna. He was aged 11 years at the time. His parents, Mr Austine and Mrs Josephine Moses, were missionaries until they met their untimely death. The boy left his house to play football but returned home to see that all his parents had laboured for had been razed down and he would never see his mother and father again.
He was taken to London by his uncle almost immediately after the incident. While in London, he began deploying his football skills. Though his parents were murdered, his passion for football was never killed. He played football for his school and later for a local Tandrige League club until Crystal Palace FC approached him. From that point, his career progressed in leaps and bounds.
This player played for England’s under 16, 17, 19 and 21 teams between 2005 and 2010 scoring 11 goals for England during this period. He later moved to Wigan Athletic and now he plays for Chelsea. This footballer is called VICTOR MOSES.
His story is a touching one, I share his pains. I also share his courage. He had a choice not to step into Nigeria again but he didn’t take that option. When the call to serve his fatherland came, Moses dumped England and embraced Nigeria… That is patriotism!
Today, we see a Victor Moses bringing joy to every Nigerian including those who may have inspired his parent’s death… That is Love!
On Sunday, Moses would stand for the National Anthem and pledge allegiance to a country that couldn’t defend his parents… That is faith!
Moses would deliver the “African Cup of Nations” trophy to Nigeria not minding what had happened in the past… That is forgiveness! Moses rose through bitterness and despair to the limelight of hope and courage.
He never gave up on his country. He persevered… That is purpose!
If someone like Victor Moses, despite the bitter past, never gave up on Nigeria, then why should we….! ONE NIGERIA

GO AFTER IT

Joshua 3:3
and they commanded the people, saying, “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the priests, the Levites, bearing it, then you shall set out from your place and go after it.

The Israelites were gathered at the Jordan waiting for a command to move.
Joshua’s officers informed them that their next move was dependent on the movement of the Ark of the Covenant.

We know that the two stone tablets inscribed with the Ten Commandments were in the Ark. So visualize this….the movement of the Ark is a picture of the Word of God in a “proceeding”, mobile position. And it is to be borne by the priests.
This means that it was imperative or mandatory that the priests would be responsible for presenting a “proceeding, progressive message” that would provide leadership for the millions of believers waiting at the water’s edge.
This “proceeding” movement will activate the crowd on the banks of the Jordan. No priest would be excused from his responsibility.

In this present day, droves of believers are stranded on the wrong side of the Jordan because priests are unable to receive commands and instructions from Joshua. God has commanded men to provide spiritual oversight in the Body of Christ. We must be able to discern the Joshua in our lives.

The demand is for all to cross over. Where are you positioned in 2013?
The command is “Set out from your place and go after it”.
Happy New Year!

O comando é “Definir a partir do seu lugar e ir atrás dela”.

Feliz Ano Novo!
