COMMENTARY – ROY PILLAY

Genesis 1:28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

DOMINION  Genesis 1 has been the key scripture that we have been using in our sphere concerning the Divine mandate assigned to the human being, the highest form of creation, to subdue, rule and govern all that God has created. God establishes the heirarchy of authority. Our rule does not include ruling over the souls of human beings.

BE FRUITFUL AND MULTIPLY

CHURCH GROWTH

Acts 6:7 Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith.

Paul’s ministry in the school of Tyrannus

Acts 19:8 And he went into the synagogue and spoke boldly for three months, reasoning and persuading concerning the things of the kingdom of God. 9 But when some were hardened and did not believe, but spoke evil of the Way before the multitude, he departed from them and withdrew the disciples, reasoning daily in the school of Tyrannus. 10 And this continued for two years, so that all who dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.

Paul did not squander his time in the synagogue where his message was rejected. 

He changed his strategy; he began teaching the disciples daily at the school of Tyrannus. The fruit of his ministry was that all who dwelt in Asia Minor heard the Word of the Lord. 

PRACTICE OF EARLY CHURCH CULTURE CAUSED CHURCH GROWTH

Acts 2:46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved

ABIDING IN THE VINE

John 15:7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

This scripture highlights the demand for a covenantal relationship with the Lord. Also read my commentary (Enemies of the Harvest) in Judges 6 for the consequences of covenantal violations.

FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

Study the lives of Joseph, Ruth, Hannah, Jonathan and David and others to observe the fruit of the Spirit

OBEDIENCE TO THE PROCEEDING WORD OF THE LORD

Luke 5:4 When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” 5 But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” 6 And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.

The key word here is “nevertheless” (Verse 5)

The Greek word for “nevertheless” is ….. dé; a particle standing after one or two words in a clause, strictly adversative, but more frequently denoting transition or conversion, and serving to introduce something else, whether opposed to what precedes or simply continuative or explanatory (Extracted from CWSB Dictionary)

This word implies that inspite of the preceding circumstances, where they toiled all night and caught nothing, Simon chose to obey the Word of the Lord and launch out into the deep. This is a “proceeding” Word that brought a great harvest because of the obedience of Simon.

ENEMIES OF THE HARVEST  Our fruitfulness is determined by maintaining a covenantal relationship with the Lord. The Lord judged Israel when they abandoned their covenant to worship idols. This relates to the words of Jesus in John 15:7 regarding believers having an “abiding  relationship” in Him.

Judges 6:1 Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD. So the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian for seven years, 2 and the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel. Because of the Midianites, the children of Israel made for themselves the dens, the caves, and the strongholds which are in the mountains. 3 So it was, whenever Israel had sown, Midianites would come up; also Amalekites and the people of the East would come up against them. 4 Then they would encamp against them and destroy the produce of the earth as far as Gaza, and leave no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep nor ox nor donkey. 5 For they would come up with their livestock and their tents, coming in as numerous as locusts; both they and their camels were without number; and they would enter the land to destroy it. 6 So Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites, and the children of Israel cried out to the LORD

Seven years of relentless oppression and occurred when the Lord delivered His people into the hands of the Medianites. The Medianite is the Lord’s highly specialised instrument of judgement that is compared to an army of locusts. They devoured everything in sight and left Israel “greatly impoverished”.

This is the recurring pattern in the book of Judges when the people of God became apostate and worshipped idols and they were subject to the judgement of the Lord.

The people of God were unable to be fruitful whilst the Medianites were in the region.They cried out to the Lord; they had to put away the idols that they worshipped; they had to return to honor their covenant with the Lord and His Word. 

Joel 2:12 “Now, therefore,” says the LORD, “Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” 13 So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the LORD your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness;And He relents from doing harm. 14 Who knows if He will turn and relent, And leave a blessing behind Him— A grain offering and a drink offering For the LORD your God?

We must be careful that we do not embrace the Assyrian model which is not dominion but “domination”

THE ASSYRIAN MODEL The Assyrian model reveals an abuse of power and authority, bringing those who have been conquered under subjugation. This model ignores the reality that man is made in the image of God. This model violates human dignity and is exploitative and dominating. It demands the payment of tributes and it leads to the eventual loss of autonomy. 

BIBLICAL FRUITFULNESS

1. Fruitfulness as God’s Blessing Genesis 1:28 – “Then God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it.’”

Fruitfulness begins as a blessing from God, not human effort. It means multiplication, growth, increase, and producing results. It’s more than financial success—it includes spiritual maturity, character transformation, and kingdom impact.We,  as disciples of  Christ, should be increasing in our faith, becoming more Christlike, and transforming into His image.

2. The Call to Bear Good Fruit Matthew 7:17–19 – “Every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit…”

Our lives are recognized by the fruit we produce. Good fruit flows from a heart transformed by God. Fruitlessness—or producing bad fruit—leads to judgment.

3. Fruitfulness Brings Glory to God John 15:8 – “By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.”

The ultimate purpose of fruitfulness is God’s glory. Bearing fruit proves we are true disciples of Christ. Our lives should testify not to our greatness but to His.

4. The Importance of Good Soil Matthew 13:8 – “But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”

The heart is the soil where the Word is planted. We must guard against weeds, stones, and thorns that choke the seed. Believers must keep their hearts soft, receptive, and ready for God’s Word.

5. Fruit Through Repentance and Death to Self Matthew 3:8 – “Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance.”

John 12:24 – “Unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.”

True repentance is more than words—it produces change. Fruitfulness requires surrender: old ways, pride, and selfish desires must “die” so that new life can spring forth. A truly fruitful life is one where repentance and death to self lead to transformation and spiritual multiplication.

6. Hearing, Understanding, and Producing Matthew 13:23 – “He who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit…”

Fruitfulness requires not only hearing but understanding and applying God’s Word. Fruit grows in proportion to how deeply God’s truth takes root in us.

7. Abiding in the Vine John 15:1, 5 – “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser… He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”

Jesus is the Vine; we are the branches. Fruitfulness comes from staying connected to Him, submitting to God’s pruning, and remaining in His Word.

8. The Indwelling Seed: God’s Word

1 John 3:9 – “…His seed remains in him.”

Colossians 3:16 – “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly…”

God’s Word is the seed of life within us. When His Word dwells richly in us, it shapes our character and flows out in wisdom, song, and encouragement to others.

9. Walking in the Word 2 John 1:4 – “I rejoiced greatly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, just as we were commanded by the Father.”

1 Thessalonians 4:1 – ” ….you should abound more and more… how you ought to walk and to please God.”

1 John 2:14 – “…the Word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the wicked one.”

Fruitfulness is shown not only in what we believe but in how we walk. A fruitful believer lives in truth, pleases God, and overcomes the enemy by the power of the Word.

10. Hindrances to Fruitfulness Psalm 1:1–2 – “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.”

Fruitfulness can be stunted or lost when we allow the wrong influences to shape our hearts. Ungodly counsel leads us astray, compromise weakens our witness, and cynicism hardens the heart. In contrast, fruitfulness grows when we delight in the Word of God and meditate on it continually.

11. The Results of Fruitfulness Psalm 1:3 – “He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.”

When a believer walks in God’s ways, the fruit is evident: stability (firmly rooted in trials), productivity (bearing fruit in season), endurance (not withering), and prosperity (thriving under God’s favor). This is the picture of a life connected to God: flourishing, impactful, and enduring.

DOMÍNIO

Gênesis 1 tem sido a escritura-chave que temos usado em nossa esfera em relação ao mandato divino atribuído ao ser humano, a forma mais elevada de criação, para subjugar, governar e governar tudo o que Deus criou. Deus estabelece a hierarquia da autoridade. Nosso governo não inclui governar as almas dos seres humanos.

 SEJA FRUTÍFERO E MULTIPLIQUE

 CRESCIMENTO DA IGREJA

 Atos 6:7 Então a palavra de Deus se espalhou, e o número dos discípulos se multiplicou grandemente em Jerusalém, e muitos dos sacerdotes foram obedientes à fé.

O ministério de Paulo na escola de Tirano

Atos 19:8-10 8 E entrou na sinagoga e falou ousadamente por três meses, arrazoando e persuadindo acerca das coisas do reino de Deus. 9 Mas, quando alguns se endureceram e não creram, mas falaram mal do Caminho diante da multidão, ele se afastou deles e retirou os discípulos, arrazoando todos os dias na escola de Tirano. 10 E isso durou dois anos, de modo que todos os que habitavam na Ásia ouviram a palavra do Senhor Jesus, tanto judeus como gregos.

Paulo não desperdiçou seu tempo na sinagoga onde sua mensagem foi rejeitada.

Ele mudou sua estratégia; ele começou a ensinar os discípulos diariamente na escola de Tirano. O fruto de seu ministério foi que todos os que habitavam na Ásia Menor ouviram a Palavra do Senhor.

A PRÁTICA DA CULTURA DA IGREJA PRIMITIVA CAUSOU O CRESCIMENTO DA IGREJA

 Atos 2:46 Perseverando todos os dias unânimes no templo, e partindo o pão de casa em casa, comiam o que comiam com alegria e simplicidade de coração, 47 louvando a Deus e caindo na graça de todo o povo. E o Senhor acrescentava à igreja diariamente aqueles que estavam sendo salvos

PERMANECENDO NA VIDEIRA

 João 15:7 Se permanecerdes em mim, e as minhas palavras permanecerem em vós, pedireis o que quiserdes, e vos será feito. 8 Nisto é glorificado meu Pai, que deis muito fruto; assim sereis Meus discípulos.

FRUTO DO ESPÍRITO

Contra isso não há lei. 24 E os que são de Cristo crucificaram a carne com as suas paixões e concupiscências. 25 Se vivemos no Espírito, andemos também no Espírito. 26 Não nos tornemos presunçosos, provocando-nos uns aos outros, invejando-nos uns aos outros.

OBEDIÊNCIA À PALAVRA PROCEDENTE DO SENHOR

 Lucas 5:4 E, parando de falar, disse a Simão: Lança-te ao largo e lança as redes para pescar. 5 Mas Simão respondeu e disse-lhe: “Mestre, trabalhamos a noite toda e não apanhamos nada; no entanto, com a tua palavra, lançarei a rede.” 6 E, tendo feito isso, apanharam uma grande quantidade de peixes, e a sua rede se rompia.

A palavra-chave aqui é “no entanto” (versículo 5)

A palavra grega para “no entanto” é ….. dé; uma partícula que fica após uma ou duas palavras em uma oração, estritamente adversativa, mas mais frequentemente denotando transição ou conversão, e servindo para introduzir outra coisa, seja oposta ao que precede ou simplesmente contínua ou explicativa  (Extraído do Dicionário CWSB)

 Esta palavra implica que, apesar das circunstâncias anteriores, onde eles trabalharam a noite toda e não pegaram nada, Simão escolheu obedecer à Palavra do Senhor e se lançar ao largo. Esta é uma Palavra “procedente” que trouxe uma grande colheita por causa da obediência de Simão.

INIMIGOS DA COLHEITA 

Nossa fecundidade é determinada pela manutenção de um relacionamento de aliança com o Senhor. O Senhor julgou Israel quando eles abandonaram sua aliança de adorar ídolos. Isso se relaciona com as palavras de Jesus em João 15:7 sobre os crentes terem um “relacionamento permanente” Nele.

 Juízes 6:1 Então os filhos de Israel fizeram o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor. Então o Senhor os entregou nas mãos de Midiã por sete anos, 2 e a mão de Midiã prevaleceu contra Israel. Por causa dos midianitas, os filhos de Israel fizeram para si as covas, as cavernas e as fortalezas que estão nas montanhas. 3 E sucedeu que, sempre que Israel semeava, subiam midianitas; também os amalequitas e os povos do Oriente subiriam contra eles. 4 Então acampariam contra eles e destruiriam os produtos da terra até Gaza, e não deixariam sustento para Israel, nem ovelhas, nem bois, nem jumentos. 5 Pois eles subiam com seus rebanhos e suas tendas, chegando em grande número como gafanhotos; tanto eles quanto seus camelos eram inumeráveis; e eles entrariam na terra para destruí-la. 6 Assim, Israel empobreceu muito por causa dos midianitas, e os filhos de Israel clamaram ao Senhor

Sete anos de opressão implacável ocorreram quando o Senhor entregou Seu povo nas mãos dos midianitas. A midianita é o instrumento de julgamento altamente especializado do Senhor, que é comparado a um exército de gafanhotos. Eles devoraram tudo à vista e deixaram Israel “muito empobrecido”.

Este é o padrão recorrente no livro de Juízes quando o povo de Deus se tornou apóstata e adorou ídolos e eles estavam sujeitos ao julgamento do Senhor.

O povo de Deus não pôde ser frutífero enquanto os medianitas estavam na região. Eles clamaram ao Senhor; eles tiveram que afastar os ídolos que adoravam; eles tiveram que voltar para honrar sua aliança com o Senhor e Sua Palavra.

Joel 2:12 Agora, pois, diz o Senhor, voltai-vos para mim de todo o vosso coração, com jejum, com choro e com luto. 13 Rasgai, pois, o vosso coração, e não as vossas vestes; Convertei-vos ao Senhor vosso Deus, porque ele é misericordioso e misericordioso, tardio em irar-se e de grande bondade; E Ele se arrepende de fazer o mal. 14 Quem sabe se ele se converterá e se arrependerá, e deixará uma bênção atrás de si, uma oferta de manjares e uma libação para o Senhor teu Deus?

Devemos ter cuidado para não abraçar o modelo assírio que não é domínio, mas “dominação”

O MODELO ASSÍRIO

O modelo assírio revela um abuso de poder e autoridade, subjugando aqueles que foram conquistados. Este modelo ignora a realidade de que o homem é feito à imagem de Deus. Este modelo viola a dignidade humana e é explorador e dominador. Exige o pagamento de tributos e leva à eventual perda de autonomia.

 FECUNDIDADE BÍBLICA

1. Fecundidade como bênção de Deus

Gênesis 1:28 – “Então Deus os abençoou, e Deus lhes disse: ‘Sede fecundos e multiplicai-vos; encha a terra e sujeite-a.'”

 A fecundidade começa como uma bênção de Deus, não como esforço humano. Significa multiplicação, crescimento, aumento e produção de resultados. É mais do que sucesso financeiro – inclui maturidade espiritual, transformação de caráter e impacto no reino. Nós, como discípulos de Cristo, devemos aumentar nossa fé, tornar-nos mais semelhantes a Cristo e nos transformar à Sua imagem.

2. O Chamado para Dar Bom Fruto

Mateus 7:17–19 – “Toda árvore boa dá bom fruto, mas a árvore má dá maus frutos…”

 Nossas vidas são reconhecidas pelos frutos que produzimos. Um bom fruto flui de um coração transformado por Deus. A inutilidade — ou a produção de frutos ruins — leva ao julgamento.

3. A fecundidade traz glória a Deus João 15:8 – “Nisto é glorificado meu Pai, que deis muito fruto; então vocês serão meus discípulos.”

O propósito final da fecundidade é a glória de Deus. Dar fruto prova que somos verdadeiros discípulos de Cristo. Nossa vida deve testemunhar não nossa grandeza, mas a Dele.

4. A Importância do Bom Solo

Mateus 13:8 – “Mas outros caíram em boa terra e deram colheita: alguns cem, outros sessenta, outros trinta.”

 O coração é o solo onde a Palavra é plantada. Devemos nos proteger contra ervas daninhas, pedras e espinhos que sufocam a semente. Os crentes devem manter seus corações suaves, receptivos e prontos para a Palavra de Deus.

5. Fruto através do arrependimento e morte para si mesmo

Mateus 3:8 – “Portanto, dai frutos dignos de arrependimento.”

João 12:24 – “Se o grão de trigo, caindo na terra, não morrer, fica ele só; mas, se morrer, produz muito grão.”

O verdadeiro arrependimento é mais do que palavras — produz mudanças. A fecundidade requer entrega: os velhos hábitos, o orgulho e os desejos egoístas devem “morrer” para que uma nova vida possa brotar. Uma vida verdadeiramente frutífera é aquela em que o arrependimento e a morte para si mesmo levam à transformação e à multiplicação espiritual

6. Ouvindo, Entendendo e Produzindo  Mateus 13:23 – “Aquele que recebeu a semente em boa terra é aquele que ouve a palavra e a entende, que de fato dá fruto…”

 A fecundidade requer não apenas ouvir, mas entender e aplicar a Palavra de Deus. O fruto cresce na proporção de quão profundamente a verdade de Deus se enraíza em nós.

7. Permanecendo na Videira

João 15:1, 5 – “Eu sou a videira verdadeira, e meu Pai é o vinhateiro… Quem permanece em mim, e eu nele, dá muito fruto; pois sem Mim nada podeis fazer.”

Jesus é a Videira; nós somos os ramos. A fecundidade vem de permanecer conectado a Ele, submeter-se à poda de Deus e permanecer em Sua Palavra.

8. A Semente Interior: A Palavra de Deus

 1 João 3:9 – “… Sua semente permanece nele.”

Colossenses 3:16 – “Habite ricamente em vós a palavra de Cristo…”

A Palavra de Deus é a semente da vida dentro de nós. Quando Sua Palavra habita ricamente em nós, ela molda nosso caráter e flui em sabedoria, música e encorajamento para os outros.

9. Andando na Palavra

2 João 1:4 – “Alegrei-me muito por ter achado alguns de teus filhos andando na verdade, assim como nos foi ordenado pelo Pai.” 

 1 Tessalonicenses 4:1 – “… deveis abundar cada vez mais… como deves andar e agradar a Deus.”

 1 João 2:14 – “… a Palavra de Deus permanece em ti, e venceste o maligno.”

A fecundidade é mostrada não apenas no que acreditamos, mas em como caminhamos. Um crente frutífero vive na verdade, agrada a Deus e vence o inimigo pelo poder da Palavra.

10. Obstáculos à fecundidade

Salmo 1:1–2 – “Bem-aventurado o homem que não anda segundo o conselho dos ímpios, nem se detém no caminho dos pecadores, nem se assenta na roda dos escarnecedores; mas o seu prazer está na lei do Senhor, e na sua lei medita dia e noite.”

 A fecundidade pode ser atrofiada ou perdida quando permitimos que as influências erradas moldem nossos corações. O conselho ímpio nos desvia, o compromisso enfraquece nosso testemunho e o cinismo endurece o coração. Em contraste, a fecundidade cresce quando nos deleitamos na Palavra de Deus e meditamos nela continuamente

11. Os Resultados da Fecundidade

Salmo 1:3 – “Ele será como uma árvore plantada junto aos ribeiros de águas, que dá o seu fruto a seu tempo, cuja folha também não murchará; e tudo o que ele fizer prosperará.”

 Quando um crente anda nos caminhos de Deus, o fruit é evidente: estabilidade (firmemente enraizado nas provações), produtividade (dando frutos na estação), perseverança (não murchando) e prosperidade (prosperando sob o favor de Deus). Esta é a imagem de uma vida conectada a Deus: florescente, impactante e  duradouro

Acts 15:7 And when there had been much dispute, Peter rose up and said to them: “Men and brethren, you know that a good while ago God chose among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. 8 So God, who knows the heart, acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us, 9 and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. 10 Now therefore, why do you test God by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? 11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved in the same manner as they.”

It is necessary for believers to “contend for the faith”. Peter was not silent in this dispute. The next generation must be informed concerning religious ceremonial laws and customs (yoke) that their fathers found to be  “unbearable”

Jude 1:3 Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.

Greek word for “contend” epagōnízomai – to strive, contend earnestly. To fight for or in reference to something, with the dat. of that which gives the occasion (Jude 1:3)

Believers must contend for the faith without being contentious. This is the “good fight of faith” that Paul declared.

This is defending our faith using the truth of the gospel. We are contending against the ceremonial rituals and laws of the Old Covenant and the traditions of men.

Peter was defending his calling by the Lord to pioneer the ministry to the Gentiles.

The Lord demonstrated His Divine, Sovereign prerogative to choose Peter by orchestrating his connection with Cornelius. The Lord had to confront the theology and prejudice of Peter when Peter saw all the animals on the great white sheet, including those that were forbidden by the law for Jews to eat. 

Colossians 2:16 So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, 17 which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.

Peter was rebuked by the Lord for prioritising his Jewish dietary restrictions above the voice of the God for that present time and for treating with profanity (making common) that which the Lord has cleansed. The Cross is our “great sheet” revelation descending from above.

Having this phenomenal Divine encounter with the Lord, Peter presents his own defense before the Jerusalem Council. 

Acts 15:8 So God, who knows the heart, acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us, 9 and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. 

OLD TESTAMENT PROPHECIES CONCERNING THE GENTILES RECEIVING THE HOLY SPIRIT

Isaiah 44:3 For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, And floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, And My blessing on your offspring;

Joel 2:28 “And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.

When the 120 disciples witnessed the mighty visitation of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost, it was the same Peter who raised his voice and explained this supernatural Divine visitation as the manifestation of the prophecy of Joel. Those who obediently “waited upon the Promise of the Lord” were empowered and spoke in diverse languages. 

Acts 2:14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words. 15 For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. 16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: 17 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.

OUR LEGACY DOES NOT INCLUDE THE TRANSFER OF AN UNBEARABLE YOKE 

Acts 15:10 Now therefore, why do you test God by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

We must be careful to note that the yoke in this context relates to the need for circumcision inorder to be saved. The yoke is not a rejection of all the moral laws, statutes, ordinances and decrees of God. The “yoke” specifically relates to ceremonial and ritualistic laws that were intolerable and burdensome to the fathers; prioritising external observances, appearances and religious piety over the internal construction of Christ through the application of the entirety of the Word of God. 

Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

Romans 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.”

Romans 7:12 Therefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good.

THE YOKE OF CHRIST JESUS Jesus invites the believer who is weary and burdened to take His yoke to find rest for the soul. This is the yoke that we confidently pass down as a legacy to the next generation. 

Matthew 11:28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

SALVATION – THE GIFT OF GOD

Acts 15:11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved in the same manner as they.”

We must not complicate the gift of salvation. We will use the Philippian jailer and his family as an example.

Acts 16:29 Then he called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” 32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. 33 And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized. 34 Now when he had brought them into his house, he set food before them; and he rejoiced, having believed in God with all his household.

The question is asked……. “What must I do to be saved?”

The response ……  “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” 

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

We see in this account that salvation is the gift of God. Like we say, we are saved ……

LEAVING A LEGACY

There is a weight of building for many years and also of growing older each year in the work of God. The legacy we are leaving must be present in every area of ​​the culture of God’s people.

We pray that the next generation will carry on this culture. It is important that we be wholehearted in order to perfectly pass on the Lord’s perfect dogmas to the New Generation.

Acts 15:7-11. After much discussion, Peter spoke up and said to them, “Brothers, you know that God made a choice among you long ago that through me the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. Now God, who knows the hearts, bore witness to them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as he did to us. And he made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. Now then, why do you test God by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? But we believe that we were saved by the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they were.

This method concerns circumcision. Paul explained that there was much more to it than physical circumcision. Paul was concerned about the new generation that was coming. We should be concerned about the next generation of leaders and what they are learning today.

Leaders are more concerned with ritualistic cultures than teachings. Ritualistic forms and clothing are no longer necessary in the way God looks at hearts. The greatest circumcision is that which is in our hearts.

The next generation needs to be free from the imposed weight of natural rituals; they did not bring holiness. It is difficult to pass on the vision when Peter was the one who received it; it is difficult to explain the vision to critics.

Gen. 17:9. And God said to Abraham, “You shall keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations.”

In this season, the Lord’s laws are written on the tablets of our hearts. Today, we must understand that we are the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit. The circumcision of this time is more elevated; it was made in the blood of Christ.

God destroyed the Old Temple to build a new temple; a new culture was born stronger in Jesus Christ. God was able to elevate his culture in Jesus Christ so that everyone in the world could be reached. The new generation will always be spiritually updated.

Deuteronomy 10:12-19. “And now, O Israel, what does the Lord require of you? To fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, to keep the Lord’s commandments and his statutes which I command you today for your good?” Behold, the heavens, even the highest heavens, belong to the Lord your God; the earth, and everything in it. Only the LORD set his affection on your fathers to love them; he chose you, their descendants, above all peoples, as it is today. Circumcise your hearts, therefore, and do not harden your necks. For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality nor accepts bribes, who executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the stranger, giving them food and clothing. Love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

Something greater must happen after natural circumcision. God pointed out to Abraham a new generation that would receive something much greater.

The argument is how we will bring people from the outside in, but when we impose rules, we will drive people away from celebrating the name of Jesus with us.

The systems of lawlessness must be illuminated in God’s house so that people receive God’s true culture.

The walls of separation must be destroyed. Jesus is the destroyer of walls. He went to Samaria, to the home of Simon the leper and Zacchaeus. God’s culture must unite people who are outsiders.

Eph 2:13-14. But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one, and has broken down the middle wall of hostility that stood between us.

Everyone should have equal access to the house, even when there are differences. We should not display our preferences but rather display the image of Christ in our bodies.

There are many leaders who are testing God, placing burdens and accessories around the necks of those who want to receive Christ as their savior.

The Light for the salvation of the people is Christ, not ritualistic things.

Cornelius and Peter’s legacy: the vision of impure things ends when we introduce Christ perfectly into people’s lives.

 Atos 15: 7 E, havendo muita contenda, levantou-se Pedro e disse-lhes: Varões irmãos, vós sabeis que há muito tempo Deus escolheu entre nós, para que pela minha boca os gentios ouvissem a palavra do evangelho e cressem. 8 Assim, Deus, que conhece o coração, os reconheceu, dando-lhes o Espírito Santo, assim como fez conosco, 9 e não fez distinção entre nós e eles, purificando-lhes o coração pela fé. 10 Agora, pois, por que provamos a Deus, pondo sobre a cerviz dos discípulos um jugo que nem nossos pais nem nós pudemos suportar? 11 Mas cremos que, pela graça do Senhor Jesus Cristo, seremos salvos da mesma maneira que eles.

É necessário que os crentes “lutem pela fé”. Pedro não ficou calado nesta disputa. A próxima geração deve ser informada sobre as leis e costumes cerimoniais religiosos (jugo) que seus pais consideraram “insuportáveis”

Judas 1:3 Amados, embora eu tenha sido muito diligente em escrever-lhes a respeito de nossa salvação comum, achei necessário escrever-lhes exortando-os a batalhar pela fé que uma vez por todas foi entregue aos santos.

Palavra grega para “contender” epagōnízomai – lutar, lutar com seriedade. Lutar por ou em referência a algo, com o dat. daquilo que dá a ocasião (Judas 1:3)

Os crentes devem lutar pela fé sem serem contenciosos. Este é o “bom combate da fé” que Paulo declarou.

Isso é defender nossa fé usando a verdade do evangelho. Estamos lutando contra os rituais cerimoniais e as leis da Antiga Aliança e as tradições dos homens.

Pedro estava defendendo seu chamado pelo Senhor para ser o navegador do ministério aos gentios.

O Senhor demonstrou Sua prerrogativa divina e soberana de escolher Pedro orquestrando sua conexão com Cornélio. O Senhor teve que confrontar a teologia e o preconceito de Pedro quando Pedro viu todos os animais no grande lençol branco, incluindo aqueles que eram proibidos pela lei para os judeus comerem.

Colossenses 2:16 Portanto, ninguém vos julgue pelo comer, ou pelo beber, ou por causa de festas, ou lua nova, ou sábados, 17 que são sombra das coisas vindouras, mas a substância é de Cristo.

Pedro foi repreendido pelo Senhor por priorizar suas restrições alimentares judaicas acima da voz do Deus para o tempo presente e por tratar com palavrões (tornar comum) o que o Senhor purificou. A cruz é a nossa revelação do “grande lençol” que desce do alto.

PROFECIAS DO ANTIGO TESTAMENTO SOBRE OS GENTIOS RECEBEREM O ESPÍRITO SANTO

Isaías 44:3  Pois derramarei água sobre o sedento, e rios sobre a terra seca; derramarei o meu Espírito sobre os teus descendentes, e a minha bênção sobre a tua descendência;

 Joel 2:28 “E acontecerá depois que derramarei o meu Espírito sobre toda a carne; Vossos filhos e vossas filhas profetizarão, vossos velhos terão sonhos, vossos jovens terão visões.

NOSSO LEGADO NÃO INCLUI A TRANSFERÊNCIA DE UM JUGO INSUPORTÁVEL

 Atos 15:10 Agora, pois, por que provamos a Deus, pondo sobre a cerviz dos discípulos um jugo que nem nossos pais nem nós pudemos suportar?

 Devemos ter o cuidado de notar que o jugo neste contexto se relaciona com a necessidade da circuncisão para sermos salvos. O jugo não é uma rejeição de todas as leis morais, estatutos, ordenanças e decretos de Deus. O “jugo” refere-se especificamente a leis cerimoniais e ritualísticas que eram intoleráveis e pesadas para os pais; priorizando observâncias externas, aparições e piedade religiosa sobre a construção interna de Cristo através da aplicação da totalidade da Palavra de Deus.

Romanos 3:20 Portanto, pelas obras da lei nenhuma carne será justificada diante dele, porque pela lei vem o conhecimento do pecado.

 Romanos 7:7 Que diremos, pois? A lei é pecado? De modo algum! Pelo contrário, eu não teria conhecido o pecado senão pela lei. Pois eu não teria conhecido a cobiça a menos que a lei dissesse: “Não cobiçarás”.

Romanos 7:12 Portanto, a lei é santa, e o mandamento santo, justo e bom.

O JUGO DE CRISTO JESUS Jesus convida o crente que está cansado e sobrecarregado a tomar Seu jugo para encontrar descanso para an alma. Este é o jugo que transmitimos com confiança como legado para a próxima geração.

 Mateus 11:28 Vinde a mim, todos os que estais cansados e oprimidos, e eu vos aliviarei. 29 Tomai sobre vós o meu jugo e aprendei de mim, porque sou manso e humilde de coração, e achareis descanso para as vossas almas. 30 Pois o meu jugo é suave e o meu fardo é leve

SALVAÇÃO – O DOM DE DEUS

Atos 15:11 Mas cremos que, pela graça do Senhor Jesus Cristo, seremos salvos da mesma maneira que eles.”

 Não devemos complicar o dom da salvação. Usaremos o carcereiro de Filipos e sua família como exemplo

Atos 16:29 Então ele pediu uma luz, correu para dentro e prostrou-se tremendo diante de Paulo e Silas. 30 E ele os tirou e disse: “Senhores, o que devo fazer para ser salvo?” 31 Então eles disseram: “Creia no Senhor Jesus Cristo, e você será salvo, você e sua casa”. 32 Então falaram a palavra do Senhor a ele e a todos os que estavam em sua casa. 33 E tomou-os na mesma hora da noite, e lavou-lhes os açoites.  A pergunta é feita……. “O que devo fazer para ser salvo?”

A resposta …… “Crê no Senhor Jesus Cristo, e serás salvo, tu e a tua casa.”

Efésios 2:8 Porque pela graça sois salvos, por meio da fé, e isto não vem de vós; é dom de Deus, 9 não de obras, para que ninguém se glorie. 10 Porque somos feitura sua, criados em Cristo Jesus para boas obras, as quais Deus preparou de antemão para que andássemos nelas.

Vemos neste relato que a salvação é o dom de Deus. Como dizemos, somos salvos ……

SOMENTE PELA GRAÇA, SOMENTE PELA FÉ SOMENTE EM CRISTO

DEIXANDO UM LEGADO

 Há um peso de construir por muitos anos e também de envelhecer a cada ano na obra de Deus. A herança que estamos deixando deve estar presente em todas as áreas da cultura do povo de Deus.

Oramos para que a próxima geração continue com essa cultura. É importante que sejamos sinceros para transmitir perfeitamente os dogmas perfeitos do Senhor à Nova Geração.

Atos 15:7 Depois de muita discussão, Pedro falou e disse-lhes: “Irmãos, vocês sabem que Deus escolheu entre vocês há muito tempo que, por meio de mim, os gentios ouvissem a palavra do evangelho e cressem. Ora, Deus, que conhece os corações, deu testemunho deles, dando-lhes o Espírito Santo, como fez conosco. E não fez distinção alguma entre nós e eles, purificando-lhes o coração pela fé. Agora, pois, por que provais a Deus, pondo sobre a cerviz dos discípulos um jugo que nem nossos pais nem nós pudemos suportar? Mas cremos que fomos salvos pela graça do Senhor Jesus, assim como eles.

 Este método diz respeito à circuncisão. Paulo explicou que havia muito mais do que a circuncisão física. Paulo estava preocupado com a nova geração que estava chegando. Devemos nos preocupar com a próxima geração de líderes e com o que eles estão aprendendo hoje.

Os líderes estão mais preocupados com culturas ritualísticas do que com ensinamentos. Formas e roupas ritualísticas não são mais necessárias na maneira como Deus olha para os corações. A maior circuncisão é aquela que está em nossos corações.

A próxima geração precisa estar livre do peso imposto pelos rituais naturais; eles não trouxeram santidade. É difícil transmitir a visão quando Pedro foi quem a recebeu; É difícil explicar a visão aos críticos

Gênesis 17:9. E Deus disse a Abraão: “Você deve guardar minha aliança, você e seus descendentes depois de você por suas gerações”.

 Nesta época, as leis do Senhor estão escritas nas tábuas de nossos corações. Hoje, devemos entender que somos a morada do Espírito Santo. A circuncisão desta época é mais elevada; foi feito no sangue de Cristo.

Deus destruiu o Antigo Templo para construir um novo templo; uma nova cultura nasceu mais forte em Jesus Cristo. Deus foi capaz de elevar sua cultura em Jesus Cristo para que todos no mundo pudessem ser alcançados. A nova geração estará sempre atualizada espiritualmente

Deuteronômio 10:12  “E agora, ó Israel, o que o Senhor pede de você? Temer ao Senhor, teu Deus, andar em todos os seus caminhos, amá-lo, servir ao Senhor, teu Deus, de todo o teu coração e de toda a tua alma, guardar os mandamentos do Senhor e os seus estatutos, que hoje te ordeno para o teu bem?” Eis que os céus, sim, os mais altos céus, pertencem ao Senhor vosso Deus; a terra e tudo o que nela há. Somente o Senhor pôs sua afeição em seus pais para amá-los; Ele escolheu vocês, seus descendentes, acima de todos os povos, como é hoje. Circuncidai, portanto, vossos corações e não endureçais vossas cervizes. Pois o Senhor, o seu Deus, é Deus dos deuses e Senhor dos senhores, o grande Deus, poderoso e temível, que não faz acepção de pessoas nem aceita subornos, que faz justiça ao órfão e à viúva, e ama o estrangeiro, dando-lhes comida e roupa. Ame o estrangeiro, pois vocês eram estrangeiros na terra do Egito.

 Algo maior deve acontecer após a circuncisão natural. Deus indicou a Abraão uma nova geração que receberia algo muito maior.

O argumento é como traremos as pessoas de fora para dentro, mas quando impomos regras, afastaremos as pessoas de celebrar o nome de Jesus conosco.

Os sistemas de iniquidade devem ser iluminados na casa de Deus para que as pessoas recebam a verdadeira cultura de Deus.

Os muros de separação devem ser destruídos. Jesus é o destruidor de muros. Ele foi para Samaria, para a casa de Simão, o leproso, e Zaqueu. A cultura de Deus deve unir as pessoas que são de fora

Efésios 2:13 Mas agora, em Cristo Jesus, vocês, que antes estavam longe, foram aproximados pelo sangue de Cristo. Pois ele mesmo é a nossa paz, que nos fez um e derrubou o muro de inimizade que havia entre nós.

Todos devem ter acesso igual à casa, mesmo quando há diferenças. Não devemos mostrar nossas preferências, mas sim exibir a imagem de Cristo em nossos corpos.

Há muitos líderes que estão testando a Deus, colocando fardos e acessórios em volta do pescoço daqueles que querem receber a Cristo como seu salvador.

A Luz para a salvação do povo é Cristo, não coisas ritualísticas.

O legado de Cornélio e Pedro: a visão das coisas impuras termina quando introduzimos Cristo perfeitamente na vida das pessoas.

Judges 2:6 After Joshua had dismissed the Israelites, they went to take possession of the land, each to their own inheritance. 7 The people served the Lord throughout the lifetime of Joshua and of the elders who outlived him and who had seen all the great things the Lord had done for Israel. 8 Joshua son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died at the age of a hundred and ten. 9 And they buried him in the land of his inheritance, at Timnath Heres  in the hill country of Ephraim, north of Mount Gaash 10 After that whole generation had been gathered to their ancestors, another generation grew up who knew neither the Lord nor what he had done for Israel.

THE ORIGINAL COMMAND GIVEN BY GOD TO MOSES CONCERNING THE CANAANITES  (Zero Tolerance)

Deuteronomy 7: 1 “When the LORD your God brings you into the land which you go to possess, and has cast out many nations before you, the Hittites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Canaanites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than you, 2 and when the LORD your God delivers them over to you, you shall conquer them and utterly destroy them. You shall make no covenant with them nor show mercy to them. 3 Nor shall you make marriages with them. You shall not give your daughter to their son, nor take their daughter for your son. 4 For they will turn your sons away from following Me, to serve other gods; so the anger of the LORD will be aroused against you and destroy you suddenly. 5 But thus you shall deal with them: you shall destroy their altars, and break down their sacred pillars, and cut down their wooden images, and burn their carved images with fire. 6 “For you are a holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth. 7 The LORD did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; 8 but because the LORD loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

Deuteronomy 20:16 “But of the cities of these peoples which the LORD your God gives you as an inheritance, you shall let nothing that breathes remain alive, 17 but you shall utterly destroy them: the Hittite and the Amorite and the Canaanite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite, just as the LORD your God has commanded you, 18 lest they teach you to do according to all their abominations which they have done for their gods, and you sin against the LORD your God.

THE ERROR OF JOSHUA The specific command given to Joshua was to “utterly” destroy the foreign nations in the land of promise. The word “utterly” refers to absolute destruction. In spite of his great victories in destroying the Canaanites, Joshua left some Canaanites alive. The Canaanite represents a “contaminating or corrupting influence”.

Joshua 16: 10 And they did not drive out the Canaanites who dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites to this day and have become forced laborers.

THE PURPOSE FOR THE DESTRUCTION OF THE CANAANITES AND OTHER HEATHEN NATIONS  God was concerned about protecting and preserving the integrity and identity of His covenanted, chosen people who God regards as His Holy Seed. His covenanted people were never meant to be “common” or unidentifiable from the other nations.

Ezra 9:2 For they have taken some of their daughters as wives for themselves and their sons, so that the holy seed is mixed with the peoples of those lands. Indeed, the hand of the leaders and rulers has been foremost in this trespass.”

THE CONSEQUENCE OF THE ERROR OF JOSHUA

Judges 2:10 When all that generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who did not know the LORD nor the work which He had done for Israel.

This is the polluting, corrupting effect of  “leaven” within a community of believers. 

Leaven spreads and changes the nature of the dough, like cancerous cells would spread in a human body. Leaven is representative of sin, evil, false doctrine.

Definition of “leaven”  from Dictionary.com An element that produces an altering or transforming influence; to permeate with an altering or transforming element. 

The idolatrous culture of the heathen nations permeated like leaven the purity of the worship of Almighty God and the unique culture of His chosen, holy nation. This eventually led to the transmogrification of the people of God where they simply “did not know the Lord”.  This would explain their lack of fear of the Lord. 

Their judgement included severe oppression and the deployment by the Lord of highly specialised armies of devouring, consuming and ravaging enemies that caused the people to cry out in despair. The Lord responded by raising His judges to deliver the people of God utilising unique strategies as we see in the administration of Gideon.

HOW DOES THIS RELATE TO THE CHURCH IN THIS PRESENT DAY 

Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”

Joshua is a “type” or representative of Christ the Mighty Deliverer in the Old Testament.

 

Jeremiah 31:33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”

The prophetic word spoken through Jeremiah concerning the migration of the Word of God (tablets of the Law in the Ark of God) from an external position to be written in the minds and on the hearts of believers. This is the final destination of the Word of the Lord in the believer, who is the dwelling place of the Lord. The Word of the Lord in the minds and hearts of believers is the antivenom that counteracts the venomous deception that abides in our hearts 

Jeremiah 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?

The apostle Paul clarifies the call for consecration to the Corinthian believers

2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.”

We are called to engage and witness to unbelievers; to be a source of light to them; but we are not called to be unequally yoked to “their ways/culture” of unrighteousness. 

CHALLENGE TO THE NEXT GENERATION LEADERSHIP AFTER THE DEATH OF A GODLY LEADER 

Joshua left a legacy of courage, faithful and obedience to the Word of the Lord. Before he demanded faithfulness from the people he led, he was faithful. Before he demanded the people to be courageous, he himself demonstrated great courage. 

What do we know about the challenges of present day leadership. After the death of Joshua, God allowed the Canaanites and the other heathen nations to live alongside God’s people. This is symbolic of believers living in the midst of an unbelieving community,

Judges 3:1 Now these are the nations which the LORD left, that He might test Israel by them, that is, all who had not known any of the wars in Canaan 2 (this was only so that the generations of the children of Israel might be taught to know war, at least those who had not formerly known it), 3 namely, five lords of the Philistines, all the Canaanites, the Sidonians, and the Hivites who dwelt in Mount Lebanon, from Mount Baal Hermon to the entrance of Hamath. 4 And they were left, that He might test Israel by them, to know whether they would obey the commandments of the LORD, which He had commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses.

We function in a highly volatile, unpredictable, uncertain environment. In the secular marketplace this is referred to as a VUCA environment.

The following definition is extracted from an article presented by the Munich Business School in Germany ….  

Quote …….. “VUCA is an acronym that describes four characteristics that make the modern world uncertain and complex:

• Volatility: Rapid and unpredictable changes, such as sudden market shifts or technological breakthroughs
• Uncertainty: Difficulty predicting future events, even when information is available.
• Complexity: Many interrelated factors that make it difficult to identify causes and effects.
• Ambiguity: Unclear or contradictory information that allows for different interpretations.

These factors require a high degree of adaptability and innovative solutions from managers and organizations”

OUR RESPONSE This environment with multiple variables , describes the condition of the nation of Israel after the death of Joshua. It is imperative that leaders address the prevailing spirit of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity with clear, precise, unambiguous communication. We believe that after we teach, preach and prophesy we need to develop clear strategies for advancement. For example Gideon had to inform the 22000 men who were consumed with fear to return to their homes from the battle line (Judges 7:2-3). This battle is for the strong and courageous. This is the same instruction given to Joshua from the Lord (Joshua 1:6-7)

Unlike the secular environment, although we are aware of the “Vuca condition” we are not intimidated by the fluctuations and the unpredictable and complex issues in our environment. Whilst the Vuca report helps us to understand the constantly evolving dynamics of our environment, believers must resolve to remain  firmly anchored, planted and rooted in the demands of the Word of the Lord and His covenantal promises to His faithful people. This is the legacy that Joshua was charged to implement in his generation.

The lost generation after Joshua was seduced, compromised and finally succumbed to the demands of their VUCA environment, casting a dark shadow upon the leadership of Joshua who remained resolute in his convictions and refused to turn to the left or the right of the Word of the Lord.

PERSPECTIVE – ELEANOR PILLAY

Judges 2:6 -10
6 After Joshua had dismissed the Israelites, they went to take possession of the land, each to their own inheritance. 7 The people served the Lord throughout the lifetime of Joshua and of the elders who outlived him and who had seen all the great things the Lord had done for Israel.
8 Joshua son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died at the age of a hundred and ten. 9 And they buried him in the land of his inheritance, at Timnath Heres  in the hill country of Ephraim, north of Mount Gaash.
10 After that whole generation had been gathered to their ancestors, another generation grew up who knew neither the Lord nor what he had done for Israel. 

Joshua’s legacy was seen in the godliness of Israel during his leadership. He was truly one of history’s great men of God.
Israel was also faithful to God in the days of Joshua’s immediate successors. But afterward, there arose a generation who had not seen all the great works of the LORD which He had done for Israel.

This new generation had no personal relationship with God, and no personal awareness of His power. How could this be? God was someone who their parents related to and who did great things for their parent’s generation. We must note that this generation was probably at all church services with their elders and parents. This generation was present in body but there hearts did not follow after the ways of their fathers nor their father’s God.

How was this possible? How could a leader as faithful as Joshua and a generation of parents and elders and spiritual leaders who loved and served God and who witnessed great signs and wonders from God fail in passing on the legacy of Christ to the generation after them.Could they have missed the mark ? We must be able to follow the main mandate given to us by God and still maintain all the other responsibilities that our God expects from us….that the world and the generations to come must know him

Transference of the legacy of Christ must be intentional. We could be one generation away from apostasy. We must ensure that our transgenerational vision does not grow dim.

Isaiah 39: 6- 7
Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, “Hear the word of the Lord Almighty: 6 The time will surely come when everything in your palace, and all that your predecessors have stored up until this day, will be carried off to Babylon. Nothing will be left, says the Lord. 7 And some of your descendants, your own flesh and blood who will be born to you, will be taken away, and they will become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.”

As leaders and stewards of the next generation we must ensure that we have multidirectional focus.It is vital that we live for the welfare of the days that are to come.

Hezekiah…..was focused only on his own palace. Joshua…was concerned with himself and his house serving the Lord and defeating the enemies of God. We need to have transgenerational vision.

In Genesis 18:19 God speaks of Abraham, saying, “For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the Lord, to do righteousness and justice.”

Psalm 145:4-7
“One generation shall praise Thy works to another, and shall declare Thy mighty acts. On the glorious splendor of Thy majesty, and on Thy wonderful works, I will meditate. And men shall speak of the power of Thine awesome acts; and I will tell of Thy greatness. They shall eagerly utter the memory of Thine abundant goodness, and shall shout joyfully of Thy righteousness.”

A GERAÇÃO PERDIDA

 Juízes 2:6 Depois que Josué despediu os israelitas, eles foram tomar posse da terra, cada um para sua herança. 7 O povo serviu ao Senhor durante toda a vida de Josué e dos anciãos que sobreviveram a ele e que viram todas as grandes coisas que o Senhor havia feito por Israel. 8 Josué, filho de Num, servo do Senhor, morreu com a idade de cento e dez anos. 9 E o sepultaram na terra da sua herança, em Timnate-Heres, na região montanhosa de Efraim, ao norte do monte Gaás. 10 Depois que toda aquela geração foi reunida aos seus antepassados, cresceu outra geração que não conhecia nem o Senhor nem o que ele havia feito por Israel.

 O MANDAMENTO ORIGINAL DADO POR DEUS A MOISÉS SOBRE OS CANANEUS (Tolerância Zero)

 Deuteronômio 7: 1 “Quando o Senhor, o seu Deus, o introduzir na terra que você vai possuir, e expulsar muitas nações de diante de você: os heteus, os girgaeus, os amorreus, os cananeus, os ferezeus, os heveus e os jebuseus, sete nações maiores e mais poderosas do que você, 2 e quando o Senhor, o seu Deus, as entregar a você, você os conquistará e os destruirá totalmente. Não farás aliança com eles, nem usarás de misericórdia para com eles. 3 Nem farás casamento com eles. Não darás tua filha ao filho deles, nem tomarás a filha deles por teu filho. 4 Pois eles desviarão seus filhos de me seguir, para servir a outros deuses; assim a ira do Senhor se acenderá contra você e o destruirá de repente. 5 Mas assim os tratareis: destruireis os seus altares, e derrubareis as suas colunas sagradas, e cortareis as suas imagens de madeira, e queimareis a fogo as suas imagens esculpidas. 6 “Porque vocês são um povo santo ao Senhor, o seu Deus; o Senhor, o seu Deus, escolheu você para ser um povo para si, um tesouro especial acima de todos os povos da face da terra. 7 O Senhor não colocou sobre vocês o seu amor nem os escolheu, porque vocês eram mais numerosos do que qualquer outro povo, pois vocês eram o menor de todos os povos; 8 Mas, porque o Senhor vos ama, e porque quis guardar o juramento que fez a vossos pais, o Senhor vos tirou com mão poderosa, e vos resgatou da casa da servidão, da mão de Faraó, rei do Egito.

 Deuteronômio 20:16 “Mas das cidades destes povos que o Senhor teu Deus te dá por herança, não deixarás ficar vivo nada do que respira, 17 mas as destruirás totalmente: os heteus, os amorreus, os cananeus, os ferezeus, os heveus e os jebuseus, como o Senhor, teu Deus, te ordenou, 18 para que não te ensinem a fazer conforme todas as abominações que fizeram aos seus deuses, e peques contra o SENHOR teu Deus.

 

O ERRO DE JOSUÉ A ordem específica dada a Josué foi destruir “totalmente” as nações estrangeiras na terra prometida. A palavra “totalmente” refere-se à destruição absoluta. Apesar de suas grandes vitórias na destruição dos cananeus, Josué deixou alguns cananeus vivos. O cananeu representa uma “influência contaminadora ou corruptora”.

 Josué 16: 10 E eles não expulsaram os cananeus que habitavam em Gezer; mas os cananeus habitam entre os efraimitas até o dia de hoje e se tornaram trabalhadores forçados.

O PROPÓSITO DA DESTRUIÇÃO DOS CANANEUS E DE OUTRAS NAÇÕES PAGÃS 

Deus estava preocupado em proteger e preservar a integridade e a identidade de Seu povo escolhido e pactuado que Deus considera como Sua Santa Semente. Seu povo pactuado nunca foi feito para ser “comum” ou não identificável das outras nações.

 Esdras 9:2 Pois tomaram algumas de suas filhas como esposas para si e para seus filhos, de modo que a semente santa se misturou com os povos daquelas terras. Na verdade, a mão dos líderes e governantes tem sido a principal nesta transgressão.”

 A CONSEQUÊNCIA DO ERRO DE JOSUÉ

 Juízes 2:10 E, havendo sido ajuntada toda aquela geração a seus pais, levantou-se depois deles outra geração, que não conhecia ao Senhor, nem a obra que fizera a Israel.

 Este é o efeito poluidor e corruptor do “fermento” dentro de uma comunidade de crentes.

 O fermento se espalha e muda a natureza da massa, como as células cancerígenas se espalhariam no corpo humano. O fermento é representativo do pecado, do mal e da falsa doutrina.

 Definição de “fermento” de Dictionary.com Um elemento que produz uma influência alteradora ou transformadora; permear com um elemento de alteração ou transformação.

 A cultura idólatra das nações pagãs permeava como fermento a pureza do culto ao Deus Todo-Poderoso e a cultura única de Sua nação escolhida e santa. Isso acabou levando à transmogrificação do povo de Deus, onde eles simplesmente “não conheciam o Senhor”. Isso explicaria sua falta de temor ao Senhor.

 Seu julgamento incluiu opressão severa e o envio pelo Senhor de exércitos altamente especializados para devorar, consumir e devastar inimigos que fizeram o povo gritar em desespero. O Senhor respondeu levantando Seus juízes para libertar o povo de Deus utilizando estratégias únicas, como vemos na administração de Gideão.

COMO ISSO SE RELACIONA COM A IGREJA NOS DIAS ATUAIS?

Sofonias 3:17 O Senhor, teu Deus, no meio de ti, o Poderoso, salvará; Ele se alegrará com alegria em você, Ele o acalmará com Seu amor, Ele se alegrará em você com cânticos.

 Josué é um “tipo” ou representante de Cristo, o Poderoso Libertador no Antigo Testamento.

 Jeremias 31:33 Mas este é o pacto que farei com a casa de Israel depois daqueles dias, diz o Senhor: Porei a minha lei na sua mente, e a escreverei no seu coração; e eu serei o seu Deus, e eles serão o meu povo. 34 Não ensinará mais cada um ao seu próximo, nem cada um a seu irmão, dizendo: Conhece ao Senhor, porque todos me conhecerão, desde o menor deles até ao maior, diz o Senhor. Pois perdoarei a sua iniqüidade, e não me lembrarei mais do seu pecado.”

 A palavra profética falada por meio de Jeremias a respeito da migração da Palavra de Deus (tábuas da Lei na Arca de Deus) de uma posição externa para ser escrita nas mentes e nos corações dos crentes. Este é o destino final da Palavra do Senhor no crente, que é a morada do Senhor. A Palavra do Senhor nas mentes e corações dos crentes é o antiveneno que neutraliza o engano venenoso que habita em nossos corações

 Jeremias 17:9 “Enganoso é o coração, mais do que todas as coisas, e desesperadamente perverso; Quem pode saber?

 O apóstolo Paulo esclarece o chamado para a consagração aos crentes coríntios

 2 Coríntios 6:14 Não vos ponhais em jugo desigual com os incrédulos. Pois que comunhão tem a justiça com a iniquidade? E que comunhão tem a luz com as trevas? 15 E que acordo tem Cristo com Belial? Ou que parte tem um crente com um incrédulo? 16 E que acordo tem o templo de Deus com os ídolos? Pois você é o templo do Deus vivo. Como Deus disse: “Habitarei neles e andarei entre eles. Eu serei o seu Deus, e eles serão o meu povo.”

 Somos chamados a nos envolver e testemunhar aos incrédulos; para ser uma fonte de luz para eles; mas não somos chamados a estar em jugo desigual a “seus caminhos/cultura” de injustiça.

 DESAFIO À LIDERANÇA DA PRÓXIMA GERAÇÃO APÓS A MORTE DE UM LÍDER PIEDOSO

 Josué deixou um legado de coragem, fidelidade e obediência à Palavra do Senhor. Antes de exigir fidelidade das pessoas que liderava, ele era fiel. Antes de exigir que o povo fosse corajoso, ele mesmo demonstrou grande coragem.

 O que sabemos sobre os desafios da liderança atual. Após a morte de Josué, Deus permitiu que os cananeus e as outras nações pagãs vivessem ao lado do povo de Deus. Isso é simbólico de crentes que vivem no meio de uma comunidade incrédula,

 Juízes 3:1 Ora, estas são as nações que o Senhor deixou, para que por meio delas pusesse à prova, isto é, todos os que não tinham conhecido nenhuma das guerras em Canaã 2 (isto foi somente para que as gerações dos filhos de Israel fossem ensinadas a conhecer a guerra, pelo menos os que antes não a conheciam), 3 a saber, cinco príncipes dos filisteus, todos os cananeus, sidônios e heveus que habitavam no monte Líbano, desde o monte Baal Hermom até a entrada de Hamate. 4 E ficaram eles, para que por eles provasse an Israel, para saber se obedeceriam aos mandamentos do SENHOR, que ordenara a seus pais por intermédio de Moisés.

 Funcionamos em um ambiente altamente volátil, imprevisível e incerto. No mercado secular, isso é chamado de ambiente VUCA.

 “FIM DA CITAÇÃO”

NOSSA RESPOSTA Este ambiente com múltiplas variáveis descreve a condição da nação de Israel após a morte de Josué. É imperativo que os líderes abordem o espírito predominante de volatilidade, incerteza, complexidade e ambiguidade com uma comunicação clara, precisa e inequívoca. Acreditamos que, depois de ensinarmos, pregarmos e profetizarmos, precisamos desenvolver estratégias claras para o avanço. Por exemplo, Gideão teve que informar os 22000 homens que estavam consumidos pelo medo para voltar para suas casas da linha de batalha (Juízes 7:2-3). Esta batalha é para os fortes e corajosos. Esta é a mesma instrução dada a Josué pelo Senhor (Josué 1:6-7)

 Ao contrário do ambiente secular, embora estejamos cientes da “condição Vuca”, não nos intimidamos com as flutuações e as questões imprevisíveis e complexas em nosso ambiente. Embora o relatório Vuca nos ajude a entender a dinâmica em constante evolução de nosso ambiente, os crentes devem decidir permanecer firmemente ancorados, plantados e enraizados nas exigências da Palavra do Senhor e em Suas promessas de aliança ao Seu povo fiel. Este é o legado que Josué foi encarregado de implementar em sua geração.

 A geração perdida depois de Josué foi seduzida, comprometida e finalmente sucumbiu às exigências de seu ambiente VUCA, lançando uma sombra escura sobre a liderança de Josué, que permaneceu resoluta em suas convicções e se recusou a se voltar para a esquerda ou para a direita da Palavra do Senhor.

 O legado de Josué foi visto na piedade de Israel durante sua liderança. Ele foi realmente um dos grandes homens de Deus da história.

Israel também foi fiel a Deus nos dias dos sucessores imediatos de Josué. Mas depois se levantou uma geração que não tinha visto todas as grandes obras do Senhor, que ele fizera a Israel.

 Essa nova geração não tinha relacionamento pessoal com Deus e nenhuma consciência pessoal de Seu poder. Como isso pode ser? Deus era alguém com quem seus pais se relacionavam e que fez grandes coisas para a geração de seus pais. Devemos notar que esta geração provavelmente estava em todos os cultos da igreja com seus anciãos e pais. Esta geração estava presente em corpo, mas seus corações não seguiram os caminhos de seus pais nem o Deus de seu pai.

 Como isso foi possível? Como poderia um líder tão fiel quanto Josué e uma geração de pais, presbíteros e líderes espirituais que amavam e serviam a Deus e que testemunharam grandes sinais e maravilhas de Deus falharem em transmitir o legado de Cristo para a geração depois deles. Eles poderiam ter errado o alvo? Devemos ser capazes de seguir o mandato principal que Deus nos deu e ainda manter todas as outras responsabilidades que nosso Deus espera de nós… que o mundo e as gerações vindouras devem conhecê-lo

 A transferência do legado de Cristo deve ser intencional. Poderíamos estar a uma geração de distância da apostasia. Devemos garantir que nossa visão transgeracional não se abrande.

 Isaías 39: 6-7 Então Isaías disse a Ezequias: “Ouça a palavra do Senhor dos Exércitos: 6 Certamente virá o tempo em que tudo o que está em seu palácio, e tudo o que seus antepassados armazenaram até hoje, serão levados para a Babilônia. Nada sobrará, diz o Senhor. 7 E alguns de seus descendentes, sua própria carne e sangue, que nascerão de você, serão levados embora, e eles se tornarão eunucos no palácio do rei da Babilônia.

 Como líderes e administradores da próxima geração, devemos garantir que tenhamos um foco multidirecional. É vital que vivamos para o bem-estar dos dias que virão.

 Ezequias….. estava focado apenas em seu próprio palácio. Josué… estava preocupado consigo mesmo e com sua casa servindo ao Senhor e derrotando os inimigos de Deus. Precisamos ter uma visão transgeracional.

 Em Gênesis 18:19, Deus fala de Abraão, dizendo: “Porque eu o conheci, para que ordene a seus filhos e à sua casa depois dele, que guardem o caminho do Senhor, para praticarem a justiça e o juízo”.

Salmo 145:4 -7 “Uma geração louvará as tuas obras a outra, e anunciará os teus atos poderosos. Meditarei no glorioso esplendor de Tua majestade e em Tuas obras maravilhosas. E os homens falarão do poder de Teus atos terríveis; e falarei da Tua grandeza. Eles expressarão ansiosamente a memória de Tua abundante bondade e gritarão com alegria de Tua justiça.”

OVERTHROWS/UNDERMINES THE SET MAN

1 Kings 22:51 Ahaziah the son of Ahab became king over Israel in Samaria in the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned two years over Israel. 52 He did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father and in the way of his mother and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who had made Israel sin; 53 for he served Baal and worshiped him, and provoked the LORD God of Israel to anger, according to all that his father had done.

Leaders have a great responsibility to ensure that in their succession plans, their future leaders do not inherit as a legacy, a Jezebellian operating model that would position the next generation on the path towards evil, wickedness, idolatry and eventually apostasy. We must bear the full weight of the burden of being trusted custodians of the Word of God which teaches us the culture of the early church.

The key instruction given to Joshua upon the death of Moses, was not to depart from the Word of God.

Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Ahaziah followed the ways of his father Ahab, the ways of his mother Jezebel and the ways of Jeroboam.

This is what the scriptures reveal about the ways of King Ahab 

1 Kings 16:30 Now Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD, more than all who were before him. 31 And it came to pass, as though it had been a trivial thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took as wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Sidonians; and he went and served Baal and worshiped him.

Here we clearly see the tripartite alliance of evil and idolatry – Ahab, Jezebel, Jeroboam

This was the reference model implemented by King Ahaziah when he ascended the throne.

This is what the scriptures reveal about the ways of the malevolent Jezebel, the dominatrix

In the Old Testament, she is the embodiment and incarnation of evil. 

After marrying Jezebel, Ahab built a shrine for her to worship

1 Kings 16:32 Then he set up an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal, which he had built in Samaria

The ideologies, philosophies  and the idolatrous worship that emanate from an external, pagan, hedonistic shrine will be planted as tares by the enemies of Word of the Lord in the hearts of believers whilst they are sleeping (Matthew 13:25). This season demands sobriety and vigilance. The objective of the spirit of Jezebel is to undermine and dismantle the faith of believers in the Word of the Lord and bring them to a state of apostasy. This was the very thing that concerned Jesus. Will He find faith on the earth when He comes?

1 Kings 14:7 Go, tell Jeroboam, ‘Thus says the LORD God of Israel: “Because I exalted you from among the people, and made you ruler over My people Israel, 8 and tore the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it to you; and yet you have not been as My servant David, who kept My commandments and who followed Me with all his heart, to do only what was right in My eyes; 9 but you have done more evil than all who were before you, for you have gone and made for yourself other gods and molded images to provoke Me to anger, and have cast Me behind your back— 10 therefore behold! I will bring disaster on the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam every male in Israel, bond and free; I will take away the remnant of the house of Jeroboam, as one takes away refuse until it is all gone.

The “provocative ways of Jeroboam”

“for you have gone and made for yourself other gods and molded images to provoke Me to anger, and have cast Me behind your back—” (Verse 9)

“I will take away the remnant of the house of Jeroboam, as one takes away refuse until it is all gone”

Exodus 23:21 Beware of Him and obey His voice; do not provoke Him, for He will not pardon your transgressions; for My name is in Him.

The Lord will always bless cities because of the presence of a righteous remnant of God. 

Genesis 18:32 Then he said, “Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak but once more: Suppose ten should be found there?” And He said, “I will not destroy it for the sake of ten.”

The remnant represent a small group that have survived the judgement of the Lord to carry the legacy. A relentless provocation of the Lord will endanger the survival of the remnant.

God compares the ways of Jeroboam with the ways of David.

“and yet you have not been as My servant David, who kept My commandments and who followed Me with all his heart, to do only what was right in My eyes (Verse 8)

The culture in the house of God will either attract the Presence of the Lord or cause the departure of His Presence. The spirit of Jezebel is clearly aware of this, so she brings in her idolatrous and blasphemous ways into the church to cause naive worshippers to provoke the Lord. We thank God for His Word, that orders our steps and keeps us in the Way (Christ) 

The church in Ephesus never had a JEZEBEL problem (Revelation 2:2)

They had zero tolerance for evil; they rejected anything that appeared as evil or wicked. They had patience, a strong work ethic and separated themselves to serving the Lord. They were endowed with a unique grace gift where they were able to distinguish between true and false apostles. However, although  this church in Ephesus was able to keep Jezebel OUT OF THE CHURCH, Jesus rebuked this church for having lost its  FIRST LOVE – a love for Christ and His Word

On the other hand, the church in Thyatira 

(Revelation 2:19-20) had a strong work ethic, patience, serving with great faith and operated in LOVE. It was love without the truth.

Under the banner of love this church had Jezebel serving in its midst. Both Ephesus and Thyatira needed to embrace the words spoken by Jesus to the woman at the well. May the Lord raise believers who worship Him in spirit and truth. 

John 4:23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

ORIGINAL ABC NOTES Jezebel overcomes the set man through the structures in the church. 

I Kings 21:8 And she wrote letters in Ahab’s name, sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters to the elders and the nobles who were dwelling in the city with Naboth. 

The impression given is that the decision comes from the set man. She puts her messages on Ahab’s letterhead. This mechanism of operation subtly overcomes the voice of the set man. Remember the set man is the sent man – sent by God to the local church, with the message for that church. He is the angel (angelos-messenger) for the local church. He is the legitimate voice for that local church. Jezebel substitutes the voice of the set man. Ultimately this locks out the voice of God from the local church.(We will deal more extensively with this subject under  the module on THE SET MAN.

An overthrown set man unwittingly uses Jezebel’s operating system. In other words his computer (church) operates with Jezebel’s software.

EXAMPLES: (A) AHAZIAH I King 22:51 Ahaziah the son of Ahab became king over Israel in Samaria in the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned two years over Israel.52 He did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father and in the way of his mother and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who had made Israel sin; (NKJ)

AHAZIAH, THE KING OF ISRAEL (SET MAN) WALKED IN THE WAY OF HIS MOTHER JEZEBEL that is, although he was the set man he was using Jezebel’s operating system – Jezebel was ruling through him.

(B) JEHORAM 2 Chronicles 21:5 Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem. 6 And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, just as the house of Ahab had done, for he had the daughter of Ahab as a wife; and he did evil in the sight of the LORD. (NKJ)

JEHORAM WALKED IN THE WAY OF HOUSE OF AHAB. THIS AGAIN WAS A JEZEBELLIAN OPERATING SYSTEM FOR JEZEBEL DETERMINED THE WAY IN THE HOUSE OF AHAB.

SUMMARY ANY SYSTEM THAT UNDERMINES TRUTH, OPERATES IN LIES AND CONSPIRACY, INSPIRES FEAR(folk do the work of the Lord out of fear), EMBRACES IDOLATRY   (example CHRISTIAN CELEBRITIES)AND SEXUAL IMMORALITY, SUPPRESSES THE PROPHETIC VOICE AND VIOLATES SET MAN PRINCIPLES(UNDERMINES THE SET MAN) IS A JEZEBELLIAN SYSTEM.

Jezebel is not omnipresent. Her system of operation however can be activated in any church where the set man is not under the direct authority of God. Such a set man is usually a weak man, who is usually manipulated by his carnal needs. Jezebel just has to threaten him about his assets, and he will come into line. Such a man does not allow the voice  of  God to prevail in his life.

This system must be looked at as software that operates a computer. When Bill Gates dies, windows 98 will still continue to operate. Satan has been defeated but his Jezebellian software continues to operate in many churches and homes. Just because this “software” is operational globally, does not mean that Satan is omnipresent. 

JEZEBELLIAN NETWORK   

COMMENTARY – ROY PILLAY 

The spirit of Jezebel will always be antagonistic to the voice and the Word of the of the Lord. It reminds us of the serpent in the Garden that challenges the explicit instruction given by God to Adam ……….

Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”

Adam did not need the validation of the serpent to confirm the instructions given to him  by the Lord. This is the autonomy of every believer that needs to be protected. Jesus instructed  the church in Thyatira not to submit to the teaching of Jezebel

In over two decades of uninterrupted gathering with hundreds of leaders every week, the Lord has not ceased to amaze us with the wealth and diversity of grace that He has deposited in leaders. It has caused us to conclude that no individual, network or institution holds a monopoly on Divine REVELATION (We are clearly not referring to essential doctrines of the church). We are talking about words that proceed from above, carried to us through the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

JEZEBEL EXERCISES HER INFLUENCE AND IS ENABLED AND EMPOWERED FROM A REMOTE LOCATION – AN EXTERNAL PAGAN SHRINE

1 Kings 16:32 Then he set up an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal, which he had built in Samaria

A network that has been infiltrated by the spirit of Jezebel erodes the believer’s absolute faith and trust in the Lord and His Word. This shrine has now relocated its position from being outside the church to being spiritually installed in the hearts of believers inside the church. As we know, as in the case of Dagon and the Ark of God, both altars cannot co-exist in the Temple.

Judges 10:10 And the children of Israel cried out to the LORD, saying, “We have sinned against You, because we have both forsaken our God and served the Baals!”

Christ Jesus informs the Pharisees about the first and great commandment Matthew 22:36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” 37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’

The Lord is clear concerning the demands of the great commandment regarding all believers. He handed His beloved people over to the Philistines and the Ammonites to be tormented for 18 years in the hope that they would return to Him. 

ORIGINAL ABC NOTES A network is an association of ministers led by a set man. A Jezebellian network has the following characteristics:- It is not based on voluntary accountability. Submission is coerced or manipulated. It controls its members. It desires to rule over other networks. Relationships are based on sentiment, not on truth – thus immorality and aberrant behaviour are not disciplined. It intends to monopolize a city – regarding itself as the official voice of God. It does not respect those of other networks. It eventually adopts titular hierachy. It is inflexible, the leader having a “my way” philosophy.

THIS IS IN FACT THE SPIRIT OF A DENOMINATION IN A NETWORK.

Hebrews 10:11 And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, 13 from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. 14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

The Greek word for “waiting” (expecting) that is used in Verse 13  is ……

apekdéchomai (G0553), to look for, expect fully; ekdochḗ (G1561), expectation. Syn.: anaménō (G0362), to wait for in confident expectancy (Extracted from Complete Word Study Bible)

We can now paraphrase Verse 13 to read …..

“From that time Christ Jesus is waiting in confident expectancy for His enemies to be made His footstool”

The English tense of the word “waiting” is  “present continuous tense”

The application of this word means that although Jezebel the woman in the Old Testament was dead, her spirit lives on in this present day. Believers, especially leaders have to continually teach the Word of God until broken hedges are repaired and stronger covenants are established as bondservants of the Lord. Although Jesus “finished” the work at the Cross by defeating all principalities and powers, believers have to manifest this “finished” position by overcoming these principalities and powers and ensuring that they remain as the “footstool” of the Lord.

DERROTA/MINA O HOMEM ESTABELECIDO 

1 Reis 22:51-53 Acazias, filho de Acabe, tornou-se rei sobre Israel em Samaria, no décimo sétimo ano de Jeosafá, rei de Judá, e reinou dois anos sobre Israel. 52 Ele fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor, andando no caminho de seu pai, e no caminho de sua mãe, e no caminho de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, que tinha feito Israel pecar; 53 pois serviu a Baal e o adorou, e provocou à ira o Senhor, Deus de Israel, conforme tudo o que seu pai havia feito.

Os líderes têm a grande responsabilidade de garantir que, em seus planos de sucessão, seus futuros líderes não herdem, como legado, um modelo operacional jezabeliano que colocaria a próxima geração no caminho do mal, da perversidade, da idolatria e, eventualmente, da apostasia. Devemos suportar todo o peso do fardo de sermos guardiões confiáveis da Palavra de Deus, que nos ensina a cultura da igreja primitiva.

 A principal instrução dada a Josué após a morte de Moisés foi não se afastar da Palavra de Deus.

Acazias seguiu os caminhos de seu pai Acabe, os caminhos de sua mãe Jezabel e os caminhos de Jeroboão. Isto é o que as escrituras revelam sobre os caminhos do rei Acabe 

1 Reis 16:30-31 Acabe, filho de Onri, fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor, mais do que todos os seus antepassados. 31 E sucedeu que, como se fosse coisa insignificante para ele andar nos pecados de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, tomou por mulher a Jezabel, filha de Etbaal, rei dos sidônios; e foi, e serviu a Baal, e o adorou.

 Aqui vemos claramente a aliança tripartite do mal e da idolatria – Acabe, Jezabel, Jeroboão. Este foi o modelo de referência implementado pelo rei Acazias quando ascendeu ao trono.

 Isto é o que as escrituras revelam sobre os caminhos da malévola Jezabel, a dominadora. No Antigo Testamento, ela é a personificação e a encarnação do mal. Depois de se casar com Jezabel, Acabe construiu um santuário para ela adorar

As ideologias, filosofias e a adoração idólatra que emanam de um santuário externo, pagão e hedonista serão plantadas como joio pelos inimigos da Palavra do Senhor nos corações dos crentes enquanto dormem (Mateus 13:25). Este período exige sobriedade e vigilância. O objetivo do espírito de Jezabel é minar e desmantelar a fé dos crentes na Palavra do Senhor e levá-los a um estado de apostasia. Era exatamente isso que preocupava Jesus. Ele encontrará fé na Terra quando vier?

 Isto é o que as escrituras revelam sobre os caminhos de Jeroboão, declarados pelo profeta Aías

 1 Reis 14:7-10 Vai, dize a Jeroboão: Assim diz o SENHOR, Deus de Israel: Porque te exaltei dentre os povos, e te fiz governante sobre o meu povo Israel, 8 e arranquei o reino da casa de Davi, e o dei a ti; e ainda assim não foste como o meu servo Davi, que guardou os meus mandamentos e que me seguiu de todo o coração, para fazer somente o que era reto aos meus olhos; 9 antes fizeste pior do que todos os que foram antes de ti, pois foste e fizeste para ti outros deuses e imagens de fundição, para me provocares à ira, e me lançaste para trás das tuas costas. 10 Portanto, eis que trarei desgraça sobre a casa de Jeroboão, e exterminarei de Jeroboão todo homem em Israel, escravo e livre; tirarei o restante da casa de Jeroboão, como se tira o lixo, até que tudo se acabe.

 Os “modos provocativos de Jeroboão”

 “pois você foi e fez para si outros deuses e imagens de fundição para me provocar à ira, e me lançou para trás das suas costas—” (Versículo 9)

 “Eu tirarei o restante da casa de Jeroboão, como se tira o lixo até que tudo acabe”

 Êxodo 23:21 Guarda-te dele, e ouve a sua voz; não o provoques, porque não perdoará as tuas transgressões; porque nele está o meu nome.

 O Senhor sempre abençoará as cidades por causa da presença de um remanescente justo de Deus. 

 Gênesis 18:32 Então ele disse: “Não se irrite o Senhor, e eu falarei somente mais uma vez. Se forem encontrados dez ali?” E ele disse: “Não a destruirei por causa dos dez.”

 O remanescente representa um pequeno grupo que sobreviveu ao julgamento do Senhor para levar o legado. Uma provocação implacável ao Senhor colocará em risco a sobrevivência do remanescente.

 Deus compara os caminhos de Jeroboão com os caminhos de Davi.

 “e ainda assim você não foi como meu servo Davi, que guardou meus mandamentos e que me seguiu de todo o coração, para fazer somente o que era reto aos meus olhos (Versículo 8)

 A cultura na casa de Deus ou atrairá a Presença do Senhor ou causará o afastamento da Sua Presença. O espírito de Jezabel está claramente ciente disso, então ela traz seus costumes idólatras e blasfemos para a igreja para fazer com que adoradores ingênuos provoquem o Senhor. Agradecemos a Deus por Sua Palavra, que ordena nossos passos e nos mantém no Caminho (Cristo). 

 A igreja em Éfeso nunca teve um problema com JEZEBEL (Apocalipse 2:2). Eles tinham tolerância zero para o mal; rejeitavam qualquer coisa que parecesse má ou perversa. Possuíam paciência, uma forte ética de trabalho e se dedicavam ao serviço do Senhor. Eram dotados de um dom de graça único, que lhes permitia distinguir entre apóstolos verdadeiros e falsos. No entanto, embora esta igreja em Éfeso tenha conseguido manter Jezabel FORA DA IGREJA, Jesus a repreendeu por ter perdido seu PRIMEIRO AMOR – o amor por Cristo e Sua Palavra.

 Por outro lado, a igreja em Tiatira (Apocalipse 2:19-20) tinha uma forte ética de trabalho, paciência, servia com grande fé e operava com AMOR. Era amor sem a verdade. Sob a bandeira do amor, esta igreja tinha Jezabel servindo em seu meio. Tanto Éfeso quanto Tiatira precisavam abraçar as palavras ditas por Jesus à mulher no poço. Que o Senhor levante crentes que O adorem em espírito e em verdade. 

 João 4:23-24 Mas vem a hora, e agora é, em que os verdadeiros adoradores adorarão o Pai em espírito e em verdade; porque o Pai procura a tais que assim o adorem. 24 Deus é Espírito, e importa que os que o adoram o adorem em espírito e em verdade.

 

NOTAS ORIGINAIS DO ABC Jezabel vence o homem estabelwcido através das estruturas da igreja. 

 1 Reis 21:8 E ela escreveu cartas em nome de Acabe, selou-as com o selo dele e as enviou aos anciãos e aos nobres que habitavam na cidade com Nabote. 

A impressão que se tem é que a decisão vem do homem estabelecido. Ela coloca suas mensagens no papel timbrado de Acabe. Esse mecanismo de operação sutilmente anula a voz do homem estabelecido. Lembre-se de que o homem estabelecido é o homem enviado – enviado por Deus à igreja local, com a mensagem para aquela igreja. Ele é o anjo (angelos – mensageiro) para a igreja local. Ele é a voz legítima para aquela igreja local. Jezabel substitui a voz do homem estabelecido. Em última análise, isso bloqueia a voz de Deus da igreja local. (Abordaremos esse assunto mais detalhadamente no módulo sobre O HOMEM ESTABELECIDO.)

 Um homem deposto usa involuntariamente o sistema operacional de Jezabel. Em outras palavras, seu computador (igreja) opera com o software de Jezabel.

 EXEMPLOS: 

 (A) ACAZIAS

ACAZIAS, O REI DE ISRAEL (O HOMEM ESTABELECIDO) ANDOU NO CAMINHO DE SUA MÃE JEZABEL, ou seja, embora ele fosse o homem de sete, ele estava usando o sistema operacional de Jezabel – Jezabel estava governando por meio dele.

(B) JEORÁM  2 Crônicas 21:5-6 Jeorão tinha trinta e dois anos de idade quando começou a reinar, e reinou oito anos em Jerusalém. 6 Andou no caminho dos reis de Israel, como a casa de Acabe, pois tinha a filha de Acabe por esposa; e fez o que era mau aos olhos do SENHOR. (NVI)

 Jeorão andou pelo caminho da casa de Acabe. Este foi novamente um sistema operacional jezabeliano, pois Jezabel determinou o caminho na casa de Acabe.

 RESUMO: QUALQUER SISTEMA QUE MINARE A VERDADE, OPERE EM MENTIRAS E CONSPIRAÇÕES, INSPIRE MEDO (as pessoas fazem a obra do Senhor por medo), ACEITA A IDOLATRIA (exemplo: CELEBRIDADES CRISTÃS) E A IMORALIDADE SEXUAL, SUPRIMA A VOZ PROFÉTICA E VIOLE OS PRINCÍPIOS DO HOMEM ESTABELECIDO (MINA O HOMEM ESTABELECIDO) É UM SISTEMA JEZEBELIANO.

 Jezabel não é onipresente. Seu sistema de operação, no entanto, pode ser ativado em qualquer igreja onde o homem estabelecido não esteja sob a autoridade direta de Deus. Tal homem estabelecido geralmente é um homem fraco, que costuma ser manipulado por suas necessidades carnais. Basta Jezabel ameaçá-lo sobre seus bens, e ele se conformará. Tal homem não permite que a voz de Deus prevaleça em sua vida.

 Este sistema deve ser encarado como um software que opera um computador. Quando Bill Gates morrer, o Windows 98 continuará a operar. Satanás foi derrotado, mas seu software Jezabeliano continua a operar em muitas igrejas e lares. Só porque este “software” está operando globalmente, não significa que Satanás seja onipresente. 

 

REDE JEZEBELIANA   

 COMENTÁRIO – ROY PILLAY 

 O espírito de Jezabel sempre será antagônico à voz e à Palavra do Senhor. Ele nos lembra da serpente no Jardim que desafia a instrução explícita dada por Deus a Adão.

 Gênesis 3:1 A serpente era, porém, mais astuta que todas as alimárias do campo que o Senhor Deus tinha feito. E disse à mulher: É assim que Deus disse: Não comereis de toda árvore do jardim?

 Addo não precisou da validação da serpente para confirmar as instruções que lhe foram dadas pelo Senhor. Esta é a autonomia de cada crente que precisa ser protegida. Jesus instruiu a igreja em Tiatira a não se submeter aos ensinamentos de Jezabel.

 Em mais de duas décadas de encontros ininterruptos com centenas de líderes todas as semanas, o Senhor não deixou de nos surpreender com a riqueza e a diversidade da graça que Ele depositou em seus líderes. Isso nos levou a concluir que nenhum indivíduo, rede ou instituição detém o monopólio da REVELAÇÃO Divina (claramente não estamos nos referindo a doutrinas essenciais da igreja). Estamos falando de palavras que procedem do alto, transmitidas a nós por meio do ministério do Espírito Santo.

 JEZABEL EXERCE SUA INFLUÊNCIA E É HABILITADA E EMPODERADA DE UM LOCAL REMOTO – UM SANTUÁRIO PAGÃO EXTERNO

 1 Reis 16:32 Então ele levantou um altar a Baal no templo de Baal, que ele havia construído em Samaria.

 Uma rede infiltrada pelo espírito de Jezabel corrói a fé e a confiança absolutas do crente no Senhor e em Sua Palavra. Este santuário agora mudou sua posição, de fora da igreja para instalado espiritualmente nos corações dos fiéis dentro da igreja. Como sabemos, assim como no caso de Dagom e da Arca de Deus, ambos os altares não podem coexistir no Templo.

 Juízes 10:10 Então os filhos de Israel clamaram ao Senhor, dizendo: Pecamos contra ti, porque deixamos o nosso Deus e servimos aos baalins.

 Cristo Jesus informa os fariseus sobre o primeiro e grande mandamento Mateus 22:36 “Mestre, qual é o grande mandamento na lei?” 37 Jesus lhe disse: “Amarás o Senhor teu Deus de todo o teu coração, de toda a tua alma e de todo o teu entendimento.

 O Senhor é claro quanto às exigências do grande mandamento referentes a todos os crentes. Ele entregou Seu amado povo aos filisteus e aos amonitas para ser atormentado por 18 anos, na esperança de que retornassem a Ele.

Hebreus 10:11-14 E todo sacerdote se apresenta cada dia, ministrando e oferecendo muitas vezes os mesmos sacrifícios, que nunca podem tirar pecados. 12 Mas este, havendo oferecido para sempre um único sacrifício pelos pecados, assentou-se à direita de Deus, 13 desde então esperando até que os seus inimigos sejam postos por escabelo de seus pés; 14 porque, com uma única oferta, aperfeiçoou para sempre os que estão sendo santificados.

O tempo verbal em inglês da palavra “esperando” é  “presente contínuo”

 A aplicação desta palavra significa que, embora Jezabel, a mulher do Antigo Testamento, estivesse morta, seu espírito continua vivo nos dias atuais. Os crentes, especialmente os líderes, devem ensinar continuamente a Palavra de Deus até que as cercas quebradas sejam reparadas e alianças mais fortes sejam estabelecidas, como servos do Senhor. Embora Jesus tenha “terminado” a obra na cruz, derrotando todos os principados e potestades, os crentes precisam manifestar essa posição “terminada” vencendo esses principados e potestades e garantindo que eles permaneçam como o “escabelo” do Senhor.

“The system of government must change”

Most leaders have received a calling from God through the leading of the Holy Spirit to plant and lead churches. 

While the great commission (Matthew 28:19-20) is a calling to all believers to disciple and baptise nations, the calling to lead a church is a burden placed on an individual by the Lord Himself (autonomous ministries)

This is usually accompanied by much prayer, fasting, meditating on the Word of the Lord, allowing the Holy Spirit to minister to the person who is called to plant or lead a church.

A Divine Encounter initiated the “calling” of Paul Paul had a transformative encounter with the Lord on the road to Damascus whilst breathing murderous threats against the disciples of the Lord. From the moment of this Divine encounter his entire life changed.

A life of suffering and persecution was declared by the Lord Himself concerning his calling as “the chosen one”  (Acts 9:16)

We see the definition of the “church” manifested in Paul’s calling.

The Greek word for church is ……. ekklēsía –  called out, which is from ekkaléō, to call out. It was a common term for a congregation of the ekklētoí, the called people, or those called out or assembled (Extracted from Complete Word Study Bible)

Paul was “called out” of a Pharisaical ultra religious culture to embrace Christ and the culture of the Kingdom. He was blind for three days during which time he neither ate nor drank water. This period of three days is symbolic of spiritual preparation as well as the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. After Ananias was commanded by the Lord to lay hands on Paul, his sight was restored and he was baptised. He began immediately to declare in the synagogues that Jesus is the Christ.

Acts 9:20 Immediately he preached the Christ in the synagogues, that He is the Son of God.

Transitioning into an autonomous model of governance demands the leader to be “called out” of systems that do not prioritise the Word or the voice of God spoken through His oracles

The ascended Christ Jesus instructed His servant John to submit a written audit report on His findings on His Father’s business in Thyatira. Jesus demands the “pulling down” of the “harlot” model of governance in Thyatira that tolerates the doctrines of Jezebel. Idolatrous altars must be destroyed within the hearts of believers declared the Lord who searches our minds and our hearts. (Revelation 2:20)

This reveals that these are not only literal, physical altars but also idols that have established a place in our hearts and our minds 

In this season leaders need great grace to suffer the loss of a “Demas” type of son, who has been seduced by the things of this present world. The “Demas” son would be very comfortable in a church where the spirit of Jezebel influences the teaching.

1 John 2:15-17 15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

ABC NOTES This demands the recognition of leadership grace upon one man whom God has sent to the church. Such a man is called a “set man” because he is set by God. 

Numbers  27:16 “Let the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation,

The set man must not be controlled by headquarters, elders(although he will seek their counsel from time to time), deacons or congregation. He must be allowed to speak the mind of God in the local house for he is the legitimate messenger to the local house.

BENEFITS OF OVERCOMING JEZEBEL

The Lord identifies the corrupting influence of the spirit of Jezebel operating in a New Testament church, showing us clearly that this spirit is not dead in this present day.

IMPORTANT CAUTIONARY NOTE Last week I wrote that God asked Elijah to take Hazael, Elisha and Jehu with him to kill Jezebel.

1 Kings 19:17 It shall be that whoever escapes the sword of Hazael, Jehu will kill; and whoever escapes the sword of Jehu, Elisha will kill.

In this present season, we interpret this as partnering with highly specialised graces that have been chosen by the Lord to dismantle the operating system of Jezebel that is undermining God ordained leadership and silencing the voice of the Lord. Our mandate is not to evict individuals from the congregation who operate with this spirit.  Please refer to the article on Jezebel – Part 6 concerning the wheat and the tares growing together. Our warfare is spiritual and not carnal. We will continue to teach the supremacy of Christ and His Word over every evil power and principality, until these spirits becomes the “footstool” of Christ Jesus.

Revelation 2:26 And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations— 27 ‘He shall rule them with a rod of iron; They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels’— as I also have received from My Father; 28 and I will give him the morning star.

Therefore, overcoming this principality demands continuous sobriety, vigilance, teaching and application of the Word of the Lord. We believe that ruling with a “rod of iron” (Verse 27) speaks of bold and courageous declaration of the Word of God. 

The Lord promises a release of “power over the nations” . This refers to being endowed with power from above through the Holy Spirit. Christ Jesus is the Bright and Morning Star. A symbol of hope and Eternal Light that rises before the new day begins

The Church in Thyatira was called to overcome Jezebel. 2 benefits apply:

POWER OVER THE NATIONS. Such a church will be given the power to make disciples of nations. God is not going to give this power to a church with a Jezebellian operating system.

THE MORNING STAR  Revelation 22:16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” (NKJ)

The Morning Star is Christ. The church that overcomes Jezebel will be given the Morning Star. This is the abiding, glorious, manifest presence of Christ.

 Enquanto a grande comissão (Mateus 28:19-20) é um chamado a todos os crentes para discipular e batizar nações, o chamado para liderar uma igreja é um fardo colocado sobre um indivíduo pelo próprio Senhor (ministérios autônomos)

Isso geralmente é acompanhado por muita oração, jejum, meditação na Palavra do Senhor, permitindo que o Espírito Santo ministre à pessoa que é chamada para plantar ou liderar uma igreja.

Um Encontro Divino iniciou o “chamado” de Paulo                                                                   Paulo teve um encontro transformador com o Senhor na estrada para Damasco enquanto respirava ameaças assassinas contra os discípulos do Senhor. A partir do momento desse encontro divino, toda a sua vida mudou. Uma vida de sofrimento e perseguição foi declarada pelo próprio Senhor a respeito de seu chamado como “o escolhido” (Atos 9:16). Vemos a definição de “igreja” manifestada no chamado de Paulo.

 Paulo foi “chamado” de uma cultura farisaica ultra-religiosa para abraçar Cristo e a cultura do Reino. Ele ficou cego por três dias, durante os quais não comeu nem bebeu água. Este período de três dias simboliza a preparação espiritual, bem como a morte, sepultamento e ressurreição de Jesus. Depois que Ananias recebeu a ordem do Senhor de impor as mãos sobre Paulo, sua visão foi restaurada e ele foi batizado. Ele começou imediatamente a declarar nas sinagogas que Jesus é o Cristo.

 Atos 9:20 Imediatamente ele pregou o Cristo nas sinagogas, que ele é o Filho de Deus.

 A transição para um modelo autônomo de governança exige que o líder seja “chamado” de sistemas que não priorizam a Palavra ou a voz de Deus falada por meio de Seus oráculos

 O ascendido Cristo Jesus instruiu Seu servo João a apresentar um relatório de auditoria escrito sobre Suas descobertas sobre os negócios de Seu Pai em Tiatira. Jesus exige a “derrubada” do modelo de governo “prostituta” em Tiatira que tolera as doutrinas de Jezabel. Os altares idólatras devem ser destruídos dentro dos corações dos crentes, declarou o Senhor que sonda nossas mentes e nossos corações. (Revelação 2:20)

 Isso revela que esses não são apenas altares literais e físicos, mas também ídolos que estabeleceram um lugar em nossos corações e mentes

Nesta época, os líderes precisam de grande graça para sofrer a perda de um filho do tipo “Demas”, que foi seduzido pelas coisas do mundo presente. O filho “Demas” ficaria muito confortável em uma igreja onde o espírito de Jezabel influencia o ensino.

 1 João 2:15-17 15 Não ameis o mundo, nem as coisas que nele há. Se alguém ama o mundo, o amor do Pai não está nele. 16 Porque tudo o que há no mundo, a concupiscência da carne, a concupiscência dos olhos e a soberba da vida, não é do Pai, mas do mundo. 17 E o mundo está passando, e a sua concupiscência; mas aquele que faz a vontade de Deus permanece para sempre.

 NOTAS ABC                                                           Isso exige o reconhecimento da graça de liderança sobre um homem que Deus enviou à igreja. Tal homem é chamado de “homem fixo” porque foi estabelecido por Deus.

 Números 27:16 “Que o Senhor, o Deus dos espíritos de toda a carne, ponha um homem sobre a congregação,

 O homem estabelecido não deve ser controlado pela sede, presbíteros (embora ele busque seu conselho de tempos em tempos), diáconos ou congregação. Ele deve ter permissão para falar a mente de Deus na casa local, pois ele é o mensageiro legítimo da casa local.

 BENEFÍCIOS DE VENCER JEZABEL

 O Senhor identifica a influência corruptora do espírito de Jezabel operando em uma igreja do Novo Testamento, mostrando-nos claramente que esse espírito não está morto nos dias atuais.

 NOTA DE ADVERTÊNCIA IMPORTANTE

 Na semana passada, escrevi que Deus pediu a Elias que levasse Hazael, Eliseu e Jeú com ele para matar Jezabel.

 1 Reis 19:17 E será que todo aquele que escapar da espada de Hazael, Jeú matará; e quem escapar da espada de Jeú, Eliseu matará.

 Nesta temporada atual, interpretamos isso como parceria com graças altamente especializadas que foram escolhidas pelo Senhor para desmantelar o sistema operacional de Jezabel que está minando a liderança ordenada por Deus e silenciando a voz do Senhor. Nosso mandato não é expulsar indivíduos da congregação que operam com esse espírito. Consulte o artigo sobre Jezabel – Parte 6 sobre o trigo e o joio crescendo juntos. Nossa guerra é espiritual e não carnal. Continuaremos a ensinar a supremacia de Cristo e Sua Palavra sobre todo poder e principado maligno, até que esses espíritos se tornem o “escabelo” de Cristo Jesus.

 A ESTRELA DA MANHà                       Apocalipse 22:16 “Eu, Jesus, enviei o meu anjo para vos testificar estas coisas nas igrejas. Eu sou a Raiz e a Descendência de Davi, a Resplandecente Estrela da Manhã.” (NKJ)

 A Estrela da Manhã é Cristo. A igreja que vencer Jezabelreceberá a Estrela da Manhã. Esta é a presença permanente, gloriosa e manifesta de Cristo.

JEZEBELLIAN CHURCH GOVERNMENTAL SYSTEMS

We have consistently stated that the main purpose of the spirit of Jezebel is to undermine and dismantle leadership that provides oversight of believers who are devoted to the Lord, His Word and to the culture of the church.

The spirit of Jezebel achieves this by infiltrating the church and turning the hearts of the believers to alternate idolatrous altars of worship; this causes an erosion of the faith of the believer in the Lord, His Word and in His Promises. This is a demonic spirit that manipulates, threatens, controls and ultimately destroys the spiritual lives of believers.

The spirit of Jezebel is antagonistic and hostile to the culture of a covenant people who are devoted to the Lord, His Word and His Promises

LIKELY ENVIRONMENTS FOR THE MANIFESTATION OF THE SPIRIT OF JEZEBEL

The spirit of Jezebel can manifest in a variety of governing management models, and if unrestrained, these structures can become fertile hosts that nurture, enable and embolden this demonic spirit.

In this present day, the spirit of Jezebel may manifest in any ministry where the leader has not prioritised the Lord, His Word, proceeding truth and the culture of the people of God. It is an environment that has assimilated a hybrid culture of worship, easily navigating between the altar of the Lord and the altar of Baal; they learnt nothing from the painful experience of the Philistines who placed the Ark of God next to the idol of Dagon (1 Samuel 5:1-6)

There is an important caution here to prevent abuse of authority by leaders.

The pursuit of the Apostle Paul is dependant on Paul following Christ and Paul providing training and equipping that would transition and position the believer in the prepared place who is CHRIST (Exodus 23:20)

The spirit of Jezebel may also manifest in influential persons in the congregation who  would suggest the subjects/sermons that are taught and preached in the church. In this environment the leader is restrained from calling the people up higher because he is afraid of offending or losing his major supporters. The declaration of truth and the proceeding Word is sacrificed at the altar of economic expediency.

The spirit of Jezebel may also manifest through a “central administration office” whose theology resists  “proceeding revelation”. In this management model, the speaking of the Lord is restricted to the head of the organisation and revelation “trickles down” to the congregation. This environment does not recognise five fold grace gifts. 

RESISTING THE SPIRIT OF JEZEBEL

Fear and intimidation is a real impediment to leaders in the declaration of the Word of the Lord. 

The Lord addressed the fears of Jeremiah …..

Jeremiah 1:8 Do not be afraid of their faces, For I am with you to deliver you,” says the LORD.

Elijah challenged the wickedness and idolatry in the Ahab/Jezebel monarchy.

Elijah resisted Jezebel and confronted the 800 prophets of Baal and Asherah on Mount Carmel. The people who were gathered on Mount Carmel witnessed the consuming fire of God that incinerated everything, including the twelve stones. This was followed by the slaughter of the prophets of Baal and Asherah. Inspite of this massive victory, the spirit of Jezebel was still alive.

DIVINE INTERVENTION AND HELP DURING OUR RESISTANCE 

The believer’s resistance to a culture of endemic lawlessness, evil and idolatry will attract intense persecution. However, it will also simultaneously attract the supernatural intervention of the Lord. When we are yoked to Him, our battles are His. Paul testifies that the strength of Christ Jesus is perfected in our weakness.

2 Corinthians 12:9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

We observe the supernatural, Divine intervention by God in the life of Elijah during his days of hiding in caves in the wilderness.

Our faithfulness to the Lord and our indomitable resilience in our spiritual warfare against principalities and powers will attract the Manifest Presence of the Lord.

Psalms 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous,

But the LORD delivers him out of them all.

Whilst fleeing from an enraged Jezebel who was uttering murderous threats against his life……….

• Elijah experienced the Divine miracle of rain that broke the three and half years of drought
• Elijah was connected to the still, small voice of God – an open heaven in receiving proceeding truth from above that would ultimately deliver him from the wilderness and Jezebel
• Elijah received a visitation from an angel who sustained him with food and water

During times of intense persecution this is how the Lord sustains those who are fully invested in resisting principalities and powers that are sent to distract and abort our pursuit of the Lord, His Word and His covenantal Promises.

THE LORD IS WITH THE RIGHTEOUS 

Immanuel (Jesus) the Immanence of God is in and among His people and His Creation.

Matthew 1:23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

SISTEMAS GOVERNAMENTAIS DA IGREJA JEZEBELIANA

 Temos afirmado consistentemente que o principal propósito do espírito de Jezabel é minar e desmantelar a liderança que supervisiona os crentes que são devotados ao Senhor, à Sua Palavra e à cultura da igreja.

O espírito de Jezabel consegue isso se infiltrando na igreja e voltando os corações dos crentes para altares idólatras alternados de adoração; isso causa uma erosão da fé do crente no Senhor, em Sua Palavra e em Suas Promessas. Este é um espírito demoníaco que manipula, ameaça, controla e, finalmente, destrói a vida espiritual dos crentes.

O espírito de Jezabel é antagônico e hostil à cultura de um povo da aliança que é devotado ao Senhor, Sua Palavra e Suas Promessas

AMBIENTES PROVÁVEIS PARA A MANIFESTAÇÃO DO ESPÍRITO DE JEZABEL

 O espírito de Jezabel pode se manifestar em uma variedade de modelos de gestão governamental e, se não forem restringidas, essas estruturas podem se tornar hospedeiras férteis que nutrem, capacitam e encorajam esse espírito demoníaco.

Nos dias atuais, o espírito de Jezabel pode se manifestar em qualquer ministério em que o líder não tenha priorizado o Senhor, Sua Palavra, a verdade procedente e a cultura do povo de Deus. É um ambiente que assimilou uma cultura híbrida de adoração, navegando facilmente entre o altar do Senhor e o altar de Baal; eles não aprenderam nada com a dolorosa experiência dos filisteus que colocaram a Arca de Deus ao lado do ídolo Dagom (1 Samuel 5:1-6)

Há uma cautela importante aqui para evitar o abuso de autoridade por parte dos líderes.

A busca do apóstolo Paulo depende de Paulo seguir a Cristo e Paulo fornecer treinamento e equipamento que faria a transição e posicionaria o crente no lugar preparado que é CRISTO (Êxodo 23:20)

O espírito de Jezabel também pode se manifestar em pessoas influentes na congregação que sugerem os assuntos/sermões que são ensinados e pregados na igreja. Nesse ambiente, o líder é impedido de chamar as pessoas para cima, porque tem medo de ofender ou perder seus principais apoiadores. A declaração da verdade e a Palavra procedente são sacrificadas no altar da conveniência econômica.

O espírito de Jezabel também pode se manifestar por meio de um “escritório de administração central” cuja teologia resiste à “revelação procedente”. Nesse modelo de gestão, o falar do Senhor é restrito ao chefe da organização e a revelação “escorre” para a congregação. Este ambiente não reconhece cinco dádivas de graça.

RESISTINDO AO ESPÍRITO DE JEZABEL

O medo e a intimidação são um impedimento real para os líderes na declaração da Palavra do Senhor.

O Senhor abordou os temores de Jeremias …..

Jeremias 1:8 Não temas os seus rostos, porque estou contigo para te livrar”, diz o Senhor.

Elias desafiou a maldade e a idolatria na monarquia de Acabe / Jezabel. Elias resistiu a Jezabel e confrontou os 800 profetas de Baal e Asherah no Monte Carmelo. As pessoas que estavam reunidas no Monte Carmelo testemunharam o fogo consumidor de Deus que incinerou tudo, incluindo as doze pedras. Isso foi seguido pela matança dos profetas de Baal e Asherah. Apesar dessa vitória massiva, o espírito de Jezabel ainda estava vivo.

INTERVENÇÃO DIVINA E AJUDA DURANTE NOSSA RESISTÊNCIA

 A resistência do crente a uma cultura de ilegalidade endêmica, mal e idolatria atrairá intensa perseguição. No entanto, também atrairá simultaneamente a intervenção sobrenatural do Senhor. Quando estamos ligados a Ele, nossas batalhas são Dele. Paulo testifica que a força de Cristo Jesus é aperfeiçoada em nossa fraqueza.

2 Coríntios 12:9 E disse-me: Basta-te a minha graça, porque o meu poder se aperfeiçoa na fraqueza. Portanto, de boa vontade me gloriarei nas minhas fraquezas, para que o poder de Cristo repouse sobre mim.

Observamos a intervenção sobrenatural e divina de Deus na vida de Elias durante seus dias de esconderijo em cavernas no deserto.

Nossa fidelidade ao Senhor e nossa resiliência indomável em nossa guerra espiritual contra principados e potestades atrairão a Presença Manifesta do Senhor.

Salmos 34:19 Muitas são as aflições dos justos, Mas o Senhor o livra de todos eles.

Enquanto fugia de uma Jezabel enfurecida que estava proferindo ameaças assassinas contra sua vida…

• Elias experimentou o milagre divino da chuva que quebrou os três anos e meio de seca

• Elias estava conectado à voz mansa e delicada de Deus – um céu aberto ao receber a verdade procedente do alto que acabaria por libertá-lo do deserto e de Jezabel

• Elias recebeu a visita de um anjo que o sustentou com comida e água

Em tempos de intensa perseguição, é assim que o Senhor sustenta aqueles que estão totalmente investidos em resistir aos principados e potestades que são enviados para distrair e abortar nossa busca pelo Senhor, Sua Palavra e Suas promessas de aliança.

O SENHOR ESTÁ COM OS JUSTOS

Emanuel (Jesus), a Imanência de Deus, está em e entre Seu povo e Sua Criação.

Mateus 1:23 “Eis que a virgem conceberá e dará à luz um filho, e lhe chamarão o nome de Emanuel”, que é traduzido como “Deus conosco”.

Once again, this perspective is related to our lesson on Jezebel.

John 13:35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—

We must do a word study on the word  “another”

The Greek word for another is 

állos ….  Another, numerically but of the same kind (Extracted from Complete Word Study Bible)

Jesus clarifies His position when He speaks to the Jews about this subject. Please read the whole account in John 8:31-47

John 8:42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me.

Jesus declared that this particular company of Jews were incapable of loving those who are sent from above. Because the disciples pursued and represented Christ, He installs love as a “disciple recognition” feature in their relationships. 

Jezebel is a disciple of Baal. Jesus, who is the embodiment of love directly informed the Jews that the reason that they could not love Him was because they were submitted to their father, the devil. They were not of the same “állos” or the same kind. 

So what does it mean when the Lord rebukes the church in Thyatira regarding Jezebel? The spirit of Jezebel operating in an individual is not the “állos” or “another” of God. It is a foreign spirit representing rulers of the darkness of this age and spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Revelation 2:20 Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. 21 And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent.

Jezebel was a disciple of Baal, the Canaanite god of fertility. Sexual ritualistic rites to ensure fertility were associated with the worship of Baal and Asherah. 

Like we said about the tares, the problem is not the presence of a believer in the church who carries the spirit of Jezebel; Jesus, from His ascended position, has a problem with Jezebel being allowed by the church in Thyatira to teach doctrines that will manipulate and turn the hearts of the people away from the Lord to worship at the altar of Baal and Asherah. This altar will demand human blood sacrifices. 

Jezebel must sit quietly in the church. Sadly, it is not in her nature nor is it her assignment to sit quietly. 

Jezebel taught love and intimacy towards Baal in Thyatira which seriously undermined and compromised the believer’s understanding of the “Agape love of God” 

As we witness in Thyatira, the Lord will not allow this practice in His church. This practice specifically referring to instructions that misdirects the worship of the believer.

The Agape love of God is able to forgive iniquity (injustice) but “Agape love” is not able to rejoice in a culture where injustice is normalised. Agape love rejoices in the truth (1 Corinthians 13:6)

THE AGAPE LOVE OF GOD THAT OFFERS THE GIFT OF SALVATION AND REDEMPTION TO THE WORLD

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

kósmos;  World, with its primary meaning being order, regular disposition and arrangement. Order of the universe, the world. The universe, heavens and earth (Matthew 13:35; 24:21; Luke 11:50; John 17:5, 24; Acts 17:24; Romans 1:20; Hebrews 4:3). Metonym for the inhabitants of the universe (1 Corinthians 4:9). Figuratively and symbolically, a world of something, as an aggregate such as in James 3:6, “a world of iniquity” (Proverbs 17:6). The earth, this lower world as the abode of man. The love of God for all “fallen” humanity causes Him to send His Son Jesus as a sacrificial offering, as a gift from the Father to save and redeem humanity regardless of “whoever” it is.This is the “agape” love of God which is the highest and purest expression of love that finds its source in the heart of God. It requires a unique, inexplicable, supernatural, Divine form of love to gaze at “fallen humanity/world” and look beyond their flesh (2 Corinthians 5:16)

How do we explain the conflict between the love of the Heavenly Father for the world and the fact that Jesus instructs believers not to love the world?

1 John 2:15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Jesus does not want us to love the “fallen systems” and the depravity and the desires and lusts of this world; the love of the Heavenly Father offers His love, the gift of salvation and redemption to all humanity.

John 13:35 “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”  In the old covenant, one had to “love your neighbour as yourself” This limited one’s love because it was not greater than love for self.

John 13:34 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 

Jesus commands us to love one another as He loved us. Jesus loved us by giving Himself for us.

Our love for one another is summed up in I John 3:16 By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. This love is beyond the love for oneself. The existence of this love amongst the disciples of Christ is a sign to the world of our discipleship.

Exclusive devotion to God is demanded in both the Old and New Covenants

Exodus 20:2 “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 3 “You shall have no other gods before Me. 4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; 5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, 6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

Matthew 22:37-38 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment.

The deliberate, calculated strategy of Jezebel was to introduce the worship of Baal to the Israelites and pollute and profane their covenant with God. This is a direct, blatant and shameless violation of the covenant that God has established with His chosen and holy nation. 

Believers in this present day must discern idolatrous altars and voices that seek to distract the believer from pursuing and worshipping the Lord in spirit and in truth.

Romans 1; 1 Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God

Paul considers himself to be permanently “yoked to Christ”.

THE EXCLUSIVE DEVOTION OF KING HEZEKIAH

Jesus esclarece Sua posição quando fala aos judeus sobre esse assunto. Por favor, leia todo o relato em João 8:31-47

João 8:42 Disse-lhes Jesus: Se Deus fosse vosso Pai, vós me amaríeis, porque saí e vim de Deus; nem vim de mim mesmo, mas ele me enviou.

Jesus declarou que esse grupo particular de judeus era incapaz de amar aqueles que são enviados do alto. Como os discípulos buscaram e representaram a Cristo, Ele instala o amor como um recurso de “reconhecimento do discípulo” em seus relacionamentos.

Jezabel é discípula de Baal. Jesus, que é a personificação do amor, informou diretamente aos judeus que a razão pela qual eles não podiam amá-Lo era porque estavam submetidos a seu pai, o diabo. Eles não eram do mesmo “állos” ou do mesmo tipo.

Então, o que significa quando o Senhor repreende a igreja em Tiatira em relação a Jezabel? O espírito de Jezabel operando em um indivíduo não é o “állos” ou “outro” de Deus. É um espírito estrangeiro que representa os governantes das trevas desta era e as hostes espirituais da maldade nos lugares celestiais.

Apocalipse 2:20-21 Tenho, porém, algumas coisas contra ti, porque permites que aquela mulher Jezabel, que se diz profetisa, ensine e seduza os meus servos a cometer prostituição e a comer coisas sacrificadas aos ídolos. 21 E dei-lhe tempo para se arrepender de sua imoralidade sexual, e ela não se arrependeu.

Jezabel era discípula de Baal, o deus cananeu da fertilidade. Os ritos ritualísticos sexuais para garantir a fertilidade eram associados à adoração de Baal e Aserá.

Como dissemos sobre o joio, o problema não é a presença de um crente na igreja que carregue o espírito de Jezabel; Jesus, de Sua posição elevada, tem um problema com o fato de Jezabel ser autorizada pela igreja em Tiatira a ensinar doutrinas que manipularão e desviarão os corações do povo do Senhor, levando-o a adorar no altar de Baal e Aserá. Este altar exigirá sacrifícios de sangue humano.

Jezabel ensinou amor e intimidade para com Baal em Tiatira, o que minou e comprometeu seriamente a compreensão do crente sobre o “amor ágape de Deus”

Como testemunhamos em Tiatira, o Senhor não permitirá essa prática em Sua igreja. Esta prática se refere especificamente a instruções que direcionam erroneamente a adoração do crente.

O amor ágape de Deus é capaz de perdoar a iniquidade (injustiça), mas o “amor ágape” não é capaz de se alegrar em uma cultura onde a injustiça é normalizada. O amor ágape se alegra na verdade (1 Coríntios 13:6)

João 3:16 Porque Deus amou o mundo de tal maneira que deu o seu Filho unigênito, para que todo aquele que nele crê não pereça, mas tenha a vida eterna.

O amor de Deus por toda a humanidade “caída” faz com que Ele envie Seu Filho Jesus como uma oferta de sacrifício, como um presente do Pai para salvar e redimir a humanidade, independentemente de “quem quer que seja”. Este é o amor “ágape” de Deus, que é a expressão mais alta e pura do amor que encontra sua fonte no coração de Deus. Requer uma forma única, inexplicável, sobrenatural e divina de amor para olhar para a “humanidade/mundo caído” e olhar além de sua carne (2 Coríntios 5:16)

 A devoção exclusiva a Deus é exigida tanto na Antiga quanto na Nova Aliança

Êxodo 20:2-6 Eu sou o Senhor, o seu Deus, que os tirei da terra do Egito, da casa da servidão. 3 Não terás outros deuses diante de mim. 4 Não farás para ti imagem esculpida, semelhança alguma do que há em cima nos céus, ou embaixo na terra, ou nas águas debaixo da terra; 5 Não te curvarás diante deles, nem os servirás. Pois eu, o Senhor, o seu Deus, sou um Deus zeloso, que visito a iniquidade dos pais sobre os filhos até a terceira e quarta geração daqueles que me odeiam, 6 mas uso de misericórdia para com milhares, para com aqueles que me amam e guardam os meus mandamentos.

Mateus 22:37-38 Jesus disse-lhe: “Amarás o Senhor teu Deus de todo o teu coração, de toda a tua alma e de todo o teu entendimento. 38 Este é o primeiro e grande mandamento.

A estratégia deliberada e calculada de Jezabel era apresentar a adoração de Baal aos israelitas e poluir e profanar sua aliança com Deus. Esta é uma violação direta, flagrante e desavergonhada da aliança que Deus estabeleceu com Sua nação escolhida e santa.

Os crentes nos dias atuais devem discernir altares e vozes idólatras que procuram distrair o crente de buscar e adorar o Senhor em espírito e em verdade.

Many readers may have been surprised by the intensity, clarity and directness of our perspectives concerning the demonic spirit of Jezebel. 

The reality is that we are not battling against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Whilst the shield of faith in the Lord is the believer’s defense against the fiery darts of the enemy, it is the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God which is the weapon of offense to dismantle the operating systems of the enemy

The absence of the voice of the Lord (hidden in caves) gave Jezebel the space to implement her reign of terror. It was the timely Divine intervention during this siege that the voice of the Lord came to Elijah instructing him to return to the field of battle to destroy Jezebel. It was the Lord Himself who hand picked three highly specialised graces to collaborate with Elijah. These graces constitute the armor of God.

Ephesians 6:16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

The Ark of Covenant contained among other things, the Tablets of the Law. In this season the Word of the Lord needs to find its new dwelling place within the believer (present day Ark of God and the spiritual Temple)

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

King Hezekiah’s reformation demanded that he overhauls the entire governing model of his biological father King Ahaz and pursue the ways of King David. Hezekiah was 25 years of age when he became king. He represented the “new generation leadership” of that particular time. His zeal, passion and great courage for reform must inspire young leaders everywhere in this present day.

Hezekiah called upon all the Levites and the priests to sanctify themselves and demanded that they “remove the rubbish” from the Holy Place. Our understanding and application  of the word “rubbish” is very important for leadership in this present day.

The original Hebrew word for rubbish/filthiness is “niddāh”

A feminine noun meaning impurity, a woman’s menstrual cycle. It refers to a woman’s flow of blood during her menstruation period. She was considered unclean and impure during this time, and the impurity had to be cleansed by water (Leviticus 12:2; Numbers 19:9; Ezekiel 18:6; 22:10). Its meaning extended to refer to anything polluted, detestable, or unclean (Extracted from Complete Word Study Bible)

The cleansing agent for the impurity inferred by this word “niddāh” is WATER. We know that water consistently symbolises the Word of the Lord. In his letter to the Ephesian believers, the apostle Paul presents the Word of the Lord as the “cleansing and sanctifying” agent. 

Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,

Our presentation application of this understanding must be reconciled with the instructions of Jesus in the Parable of the wheat and the tares (Matthew 13:24-30)

We must embrace the “growing together” of the wheat and the tares as a “coexistent” reality. The Lord has issued a “restraining order” that allows the coexistence of both the wheat and the tares because of His immense, unfathomable love and commitment to His covenant with the wheat. He would not place the wheat in “harm’s way”. This reveals the trust and confidence that Jesus has in the “all sufficiency” of His grace for the “wheat” to overcome all intimidation from the “tares” that grow alongside the wheat.

The Lord assumes full responsibility for the final judgement of both the wheat and the tares. 

This means that believers, especially leaders have to prioritise the application of the Word of the Lord as a cleansing and sanctifying agent. 

We can conclude that our warfare is not against “flesh and blood”.

A Hezekiah model that is built on a Davidic leadership model will demand the dismantling of any evil and wicked operating system that does not does have its heart centred in the Lord.

Jesus used the Word of the Lord to resist the three temptations of the devil. Every time, Jesus, the incarnate Word of God declared “It is written”. (Matthew 4:3-11)

A multitude followed Jesus when they saw the lame walk, the blind see, the deaf hear and the demonized set free. When they saw Jesus feed the five thousand, they wanted to make Him king. Jesus said: –

John 6:56 “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. 

The crowd stopped following Him. Even many of His disciple deserted Him.

John 6:66 From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. 

These were not true disciples. They could not live by every word that flowed from the mouth of Christ.

A disciple abides (dwells) in the word of God. 

John 8:31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.

PRODUCTIVITY

This perspective relates to our main lesson – Jezebel. The spirit of Jezebel operating  in and among the people of God brings widespread economic instability, religious conflict, lawlessness and confusion to any environment. The relentless persecution and suppression of the prophets of the Lord and the murder of Naboth contributed significantly to the loss of trust and confidence in the Ahab/Jezebel led government. These adverse conditions will affect the productivity of a people and cause economic instability.

God responded to Elijah’s call for a drought in Israel because of the apostasy of His people in their idol worship of Baal. His strategy has always been to apply pressure until His people return to Him. The drought and famine of three and half years seriously affected the productivity and the economy, especially the agricultural sector and the livestock. During these times of drought and famine, believers must recognise the Lord as the source of their blessings.

Deuteronomy 8:18 “And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. 19 Then it shall be, if you by any means forget the LORD your God, and follow other gods, and serve them and worship them, I testify against you this day that you shall surely perish.

The prosperity of God’s people was inextricably linked to their covenant with their God. Idolatry breaks the “hedge” that confers Divine immunity and protection against the enemy. 

Jesus would declare ………

John 15:4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

Paul warns the Gentiles about never losing sight of the source of their blessings.

Romans 11:17 And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, 18 do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.

This is important because there is a real danger that productivity can become idolised because there is always a sense of dissatisfaction in our constant quest to to achieve more and greater goals; to construct bigger barns; our pursuit of productivity should not be at the expense of our relationship with the Lord. Remember it is the ROOT THAT SUPPORTS THE BRANCHES. 

Jesus Himself testifies that He is the ROOT …………….

Revelation 22:16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”

Fruitfulness (productivity) is a mark of discipleship that glorifies the Father. Fruitfulness is the result of a personal, intimate (abiding) relationship with Christ.

Fruitfulness is evidence of death to self.

 Muitos leitores podem ter ficado surpresos com a intensidade, clareza e franqueza de nossas perspectivas sobre o espírito demoníaco de Jezabel.

A realidade é que não estamos lutando contra carne e sangue, mas contra principados, contra potestades, contra os príncipes das trevas deste século, contra hostes espirituais da maldade nos lugares celestiais.

Enquanto o escudo da fé no Senhor é a defesa do crente contra os dardos inflamados do inimigo, é a Espada do Espírito, a Palavra de Deus que é a arma de ataque para desmantelar os sistemas operacionais do inimigo

A ausência da voz do Senhor (escondida em cavernas) deu a Jezabel o espaço para implementar seu reinado de terror. Foi a intervenção divina oportuna durante este cerco que a voz do Senhor veio a Elias, instruindo-o a retornar ao campo de batalha para destruir Jezabel. Foi o próprio Senhor quem escolheu a dedo três graças altamente especializadas para colaborar com Elias. Essas graças constituem a armadura de Deus.

Efésios 6:16 acima de tudo, tomando o escudo da fé com o qual você será capaz de apagar todos os dardos inflamados do maligno. 17 E tomai o capacete da salvação e a espada do Espírito, que é a palavra de Deus;

A Arca da Aliança continha, entre outras coisas, as Tábuas da Lei. Nesta época, a Palavra do Senhor precisa encontrar sua nova morada dentro do crente (atual Arca de Deus e o Templo espiritual)

Colossenses 3:16 Habite ricamente em vós a palavra de Cristo, em toda a sabedoria, ensinando-vos e admoestando-vos uns aos outros com salmos, hinos e cânticos espirituais, cantando ao Senhor com graça em vossos corações. 17 E tudo o que fizerdes por palavra ou por ação, fazei-o em nome do Senhor Jesus, dando graças a Deus Pai por meio dele.

A reforma do rei Ezequias exigiu que ele revisasse todo o modelo de governo de seu pai biológico, o rei Acaz, e seguisse os caminhos do rei Davi. Ezequias tinha 25 anos de idade quando se tornou rei. Ele representou a “liderança da nova geração” daquela época em particular. Seu zelo, paixão e grande coragem pela reforma devem inspirar jovens líderes em todos os lugares nos dias atuais.

Ezequias convocou todos os levitas e sacerdotes a se santificarem e exigiu que “removessem o lixo” do Lugar Santo. Nossa compreensão e aplicação da palavra “lixo” é muito importante para a liderança nos dias atuais.

A palavra hebraica original para lixo / imundície é “niddāh”                                        Um substantivo feminino que significa impureza, o ciclo menstrual de uma mulher. Refere-se ao fluxo de sangue de uma mulher durante o período menstrual. Ela foi considerada impura e impura durante esse tempo, e a impureza teve que ser purificada com água (Levítico 12:2; Números 19:9; Ezequiel 18:6; 22:10). Seu significado se estende para se referir a qualquer coisa poluída, detestável ou impura              (Extraído da Bíblia de Estudo de Palavras Completas)

O agente de limpeza para a impureza inferida por esta palavra “niddāh” é a ÁGUA. Sabemos que a água simboliza consistentemente a Palavra do Senhor. Em sua carta aos crentes de Éfeso, o apóstolo Paulo apresenta a Palavra do Senhor como o agente “purificador e santificador”.

 Efésios 5:25-26 Maridos, amai vossas mulheres, como também Cristo amou a igreja e a si mesmo se entregou por ela, 26 para a santificar e purificar com a lavagem da água, pela palavra,

Nossa aplicação de apresentação desse entendimento deve ser reconciliada com as instruções de Jesus na parábola do joio e do trigo (Mateus 13:24-30)

Devemos abraçar o “crescer juntos” do trigo e do joio como uma realidade “coexistente”. O Senhor emitiu uma “ordem de restrição” que permite a coexistência do trigo e do joio por causa de Seu imenso e insondável amor e compromisso com Sua aliança com o trigo. Ele não colocaria o trigo em “perigo”. Isso revela a confiança que Jesus tem na “toda suficiência” de Sua graça para o “trigo” para superar toda intimidação do “joio” que cresce junto com o trigo.

O Senhor assume total responsabilidade pelo julgamento final tanto do trigo quanto do joio.

Isso significa que os crentes, especialmente os líderes, devem priorizar a aplicação da Palavra do Senhor como um agente purificador e santificador.

Podemos concluir que nossa guerra não é contra “carne e sangue”.

Um modelo de Ezequias que é construído sobre um modelo de liderança davídica exigirá o desmantelamento de qualquer sistema operacional maligno e perverso que não tenha seu coração centrado no Senhor.

Jesus usou a Palavra do Senhor para resistir às três tentações do diabo. Todas as vezes, Jesus, o Verbo de Deus encarnado, declarou “Está escrito”. (Mateus 4:3-11)

NOTAS ORIGINAIS DO ABC                          Uma multidão seguiu Jesus quando viu os coxos andarem, os cegos verem, os surdos ouvirem e os endemoninhados serem libertados. Quando viram Jesus alimentar os cinco mil, quiseram fazê-lo rei. Jesus disse: 

João 6:56 “Quem come a minha carne e bebe o meu sangue permanece em mim, e eu nele.

A multidão parou de segui-lo. Até mesmo muitos de Seus discípulos O abandonaram.

João 6:66 Desde então, muitos de seus discípulos voltaram e não andaram mais com ele.

Estes não eram verdadeiros discípulos. Não podiam viver de cada palavra que fluía da boca de Cristo.

Um discípulo permanece (habita) na palavra de Deus.

PRODUTIVIDADE

 Essa perspectiva se relaciona com nossa lição principal – Jezabel. O espírito de Jezabel operando no e entre o povo de Deus traz instabilidade econômica generalizada, conflito religioso, ilegalidade e confusão a qualquer ambiente. A implacável perseguição e supressão dos profetas do Senhor e o assassinato de Nabote contribuíram significativamente para a perda de confiança no governo liderado por Acabe/Jezabel. Essas condições adversas afetarão a produtividade de um povo e causarão instabilidade econômica.

Deus respondeu ao chamado de Elias para uma seca em Israel por causa da apostasia de Seu povo em sua adoração de ídolos a Baal. Sua estratégia sempre foi aplicar pressão até que Seu povo retornasse a Ele. A seca e a fome de três anos e meio afetaram seriamente a produtividade e a economia, especialmente o setor agrícola e a pecuária. Durante esses tempos de seca e fome, os crentes devem reconhecer o Senhor como a fonte de suas bênçãos.

Deuteronômio 8:18 “E lembrar-te-ás do Senhor teu Deus, porque é ele quem te dá poder para adquirires riquezas, a fim de confirmar a aliança que jurou a teus pais, como hoje se vê. 19 Então será que, se de algum modo te esqueceres do SENHOR teu Deus, e seguires outros deuses, e os servires e os adorares, hoje testifico contra ti que certamente perecereis.

A prosperidade do povo de Deus estava inextricavelmente ligada à sua aliança com seu Deus. A idolatria quebra a “cerca” que confere imunidade divina e proteção contra o inimigo.

Jesus declararia ………

João 15:4 Permanecei em mim, e eu em vós. Assim como o ramo não pode dar fruto por si mesmo, se não permanecer na videira, vós também não podeis, se não permanecerdes em mim.

Paulo adverte os gentios a nunca perderem de vista a fonte de suas bênçãos.

Romanos 11:17 E se alguns dos ramos foram quebrados, e tu, sendo oliveira brava, foste enxertado no meio deles, e com eles te tornaste participante da raiz e da gordura da oliveira, 18 não te glories contra os ramos. Mas, se vos gloriardes, lembrai-vos de que não apoias a raiz, mas a raiz vos sustenta.

Isto é importante porque existe um perigo real de que a produtividade possa tornar-se idolatrada, porque há sempre um sentimento de insatisfação na nossa busca constante para alcançar mais e maiores objetivos; construir celeiros maiores; nossa busca pela produtividade não deve ser feita às custas de nosso relacionamento com o Senhor. Lembre-se de que é a RAIZ QUE SUSTENTA OS RAMOS.

 O próprio Jesus testifica que Ele é a RAIZ …………….

Apocalipse 22:16 “Eu, Jesus, enviei o meu anjo para vos testificar estas coisas nas igrejas. Eu sou a Raiz e a Descendência de Davi, a Resplandecente Estrela da Manhã.”

SERVANTHOOD

Christ Jesus is our example. Jesus assumed the form of a “bondservant”

The word “doulos” in Greek means a “bondservant,” someone who had sold himself into slavery to another person either for a specific amount of time or indefinitely. Paul considered himself to be owned by Christ. (Definition extracted from Bibleref.com)

Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,

Our serving the Lord in humility will bring us into a place of dominion, like it did with Jesus. We believe that in this present day we must develop models that integrate both principles for Biblical Prosperity and “serving with humility” to bring a healthy balance  in our serving the Lord and as well serving others, especially those who are socially and financially disadvantaged. We must teach the Word of the Lord, with the same zeal,  to both the advantaged and disadvantaged believers, without partiality or prejudice. 

The outcome of this approach will cause the widow to bring her two mites with dignity without being aware that the Lord has seen the “true value and weight” of her sacrificial offering.

1 Peter 5:2 Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; 3 nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock; 4 and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away.

Peter counsels both elders and believers about living in humility. He reminds elders (church leadership) that they are overseers of the flock that belongs to the Lord. Leaders are specifically cautioned not to be “lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock”. 

Exaltation comes to those who serve as bondservants of the Lord; from a position of being “yoked with Christ”

Hebrews 10:12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, 13 from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool.

The enemies of the Lord are  principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this age, spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Jezebel is a spirit that must not be served or tolerated but dismantled.

Serving not only inside, but also outside the church. Acts demonstrating our social responsibility must not be viewed as a photo opportunity for maximum visibility on our social networks, to be “seen by men”. Jesus informs us that this practice is from the Pharisaical playbook. 

Matthew 23:5 “Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long; 6 they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; 7 they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others.

Jesus reveals the heart of a servant when He engages the Samaritan woman. 

John 4:9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.

There is a middle wall between Jews and Samaritans that Jesus is able to destroy because He has not come only to save the Jews, He came to save all humanity. (Ephesians 2:14)

John 10:16 And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.

Matthew  20:28 “just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” 

Christ came to serve – not to be served. The world associates servanthood with shame and weakness. Christ revealed that servanthood is the culture of the Kingdom of God. He established servanthood as a pattern for his disciples.

COMPLIANCE (Obedience & Submission)

The Lord is clear concerning His laws and decrees. 

Leviticus 18:4 You must obey my laws and be careful to follow my decrees. I am the LORD your God.

Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

There is a very important demand in the commissioning of all disciples of Jesus. 

Part of the process in discipling is to teach those being saved to “obey EVERYTHING that the Lord had commanded”

This phase in the process would transition the new believer from salvation to journey towards his or her dominion in the Lord. This is being compliant (aligning oneself) with the demands of the Word of the Lord. There are several promises attached to obeying the commands of the Lord (Deuteronomy 28)

How does compliance feature in defeating the spirit of Jezebel ?

It is difficult for the spirit of Jezebel to infiltrate, indoctrinate and fragment an autonomous ministry where the congregation is compliant and submitted to the instructions from the Word of the Lord that is spoken through the mouth of the leader of that local house/family.

A divided household is fertile ground and it is vulnerable to the invasion of the spirit of Jezebel and it will not stand.

The spirit of Jezebel seduced King Ahab to be compliant to her rather than the Word of God. 

The litany of laws, statutes, decrees and ordinances should have been the Constitution and bedrock of Israel’s administration. 

Like the church in Thyatira, the Lord rebuked the leadership for its “tolerance” of a Jezebellian spirit that would corrupt and adulterate the worship of the one true God.

Revelation 2:20 Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols.

Ground Zero for compliance in the greater Body of Christ is the local church family.

SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY IS INVESTED IN THOSE WHO REPRESENT THE LORD AND ARE COMPLIANT TO HIS WORD Divine authority and immunity to trample over snakes, scorpions and all the power of the enemy is not invested in strangers but in His disciples.

Luke 10:16 He who hears you hears Me, he who rejects you rejects Me, and he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me.” 17 Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” 18 And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

The process that transformed water into wine was activated by one, clear instruction from Mary, the mother of Jesus ….

John 2:5 His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”

This is the inherent supernatural power in the Word of the Lord that is waiting to be released through our compliance.

ORIGINAL ABC NOTES True discipleship requires an heart that is transformed by a personal, intimate relationship with God. Compliance (obedience, submission) is an outward expression of an inward change. A disciple obeys the commandments of Jesus Christ – this obedience being motivated by love for Christ.

Matthew  4:19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 They immediately left their nets and followed Him. 

Matthew 9:9 As Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, “Follow Me.” So he arose and followed Him. 

Matthew 21:5 “Tell the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your King is coming to you, lowly, and sitting on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey.'” 6 So the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them.

Heaven is the place where God exercises His perfect will. On earth, God’s will is opposed by the flesh, world and Satan. When a disciple obeys God’s will, he manifests God’s kingdom on earth.

One of the acts of compliance (obedience) is making disciples.

Obedience demonstrates the disciple’s personal, intimate relationship with Christ.

Nosso serviço ao Senhor com humildade nos levará a um lugar de domínio, como aconteceu com Jesus. 1 Pedro 5:2-4 Pastoreai o rebanho de Deus que está entre vós, servindo como bispos, não por compulsão, mas espontaneamente, não por ganho desonesto, mas com zelo; 3 nem como senhores sobre os que vos foram confiados, mas como exemplos para o rebanho; 4 e, quando o sumo pastor aparecer, vocês receberão a coroa de glória que não se apaga.

Pedro aconselha tanto os presbíteros quanto os crentes a viver em humildade. Ele lembra aos presbíteros (liderança da igreja) que eles são supervisores do rebanho que pertence ao Senhor. Os líderes são especificamente advertidos a não serem “senhores sobre os que vos foram confiados, mas sendo exemplos para o rebanho”.

A exaltação vem para aqueles que servem como servos do Senhor; de uma posição de estar “em jugo com Cristo”.

Hebreus 10:12-13 Mas este, havendo oferecido para sempre um só sacrifício pelos pecados, assentou-se à direita de Deus, 13 desde então esperando até que os seus inimigos sejam postos por escabelo dos seus pés.

Os inimigos do Senhor são principados, potestades, príncipes das trevas deste século, hostes espirituais da maldade nos lugares celestiais. Jezabel é um espírito que não deve ser servido ou tolerado, mas desmantelado.

Servindo não apenas dentro, mas também fora da igreja. Atos que demonstram nossa responsabilidade social não devem ser vistos como uma oportunidade fotográfica para máxima visibilidade em nossas redes sociais, para ser “visto pelos homens”. Jesus nos informa que essa prática é do manual farisaico.

Mateus 23:5-7 “Tudo o que fazem é feito para os homens verem: eles alargam seus filactérios e as borlas de suas vestes longas; 6 eles amam o lugar de honra nos banquetes e os assentos mais importantes nas sinagogas; 7 gostam de ser cumprimentados com respeito nas feiras e de serem chamados de ‘Rabi’ pelos outros.

Jesus revela o coração de um servo quando Ele se envolve com a mulher samaritana.

João 4:9 Então a mulher samaritana lhe disse: “Como é que tu, sendo judeu, me pede de beber, uma mulher samaritana?” Pois os judeus não têm relações com os samaritanos.

Há um muro no meio entre judeus e samaritanos que Jesus é capaz de destruir porque Ele não veio apenas para salvar os judeus, Ele veio para salvar toda a humanidade. (Efésios 2:14)

João 10:16 E tenho outras ovelhas que não são deste aprisco; a eles também devo trazer, e eles ouvirão a minha voz; e haverá um só rebanho e um só pastor.

NOTAS ORIGINAIS DO ABC

O Senhor é claro a respeito de Suas leis e decretos.

Levítico 18:4 Você deve obedecer às minhas leis e ter o cuidado de seguir meus decretos. Eu sou o Senhor, o seu Deus.

Mateus 28:19-20 Portanto, ide, fazei discípulos de todas as nações, batizando-os em nome do Pai, e do Filho, e do Espírito Santo, 20 e ensinando-os a obedecer a tudo o que vos tenho ordenado. E certamente estou convosco todos os dias, até o fim dos tempos”.

Há uma demanda muito importante no comissionamento de todos os discípulos de Jesus.

Parte do processo de discipulado é ensinar aqueles que estão sendo salvos a “obedecer a TUDO o que o Senhor ordenou”

Esta fase do processo faria a transição do novo crente da salvação para a jornada em direção ao seu domínio no Senhor. Isso é ser complacente (alinhar-se) com as exigências da Palavra do Senhor. Existem várias promessas ligadas à obediência aos mandamentos do Senhor (Deuteronômio 28)

Como a conformidade se destaca na derrota do espírito de Jezabel?

É difícil para o espírito de Jezabel se infiltrar, doutrinar e fragmentar um ministério autônomo onde a congregação é complacente e submetida às instruções da Palavra do Senhor que é falada pela boca do líder daquela casa/família local.

Uma família dividida é um terreno fértil e vulnerável à invasão do espírito de Jezabel e não permanecerá.

O espírito de Jezabel seduziu o rei Acabe para ser complacente com ela em vez da Palavra de Deus.

A ladainha de leis, estatutos, decretos e ordenanças deveria ter sido a Constituição e o alicerce da administração de Israel.

Como a igreja em Tiatira, o Senhor repreendeu a liderança por sua “tolerância” a um espírito jezabeliano que corromperia e adulteraria a adoração do único Deus verdadeiro.

Apocalipse 2:20 Tenho, porém, contra ti o seguinte: toleras a mulher Jezabel, que se diz profetisa. Com o seu ensino, ela engana os meus servos para a imoralidade sexual e para o comer de alimentos sacrificados aos ídolos.

O Marco Zero para a conformidade no Corpo maior de Cristo é a família da igreja local.

A AUTORIDADE ESPIRITUAL É INVESTIDA NAQUELES QUE REPRESENTAM O SENHOR E SÃO COMPLACENTES COM SUA PALAVRA 

A autoridade divina e a imunidade para pisotear cobras, escorpiões e todo o poder do inimigo não são investidos em estranhos, mas em Seus discípulos.

Lucas 10:16-18 Quem vos ouve a mim ouve, quem vos rejeita a mim me rejeita, e quem me rejeita, rejeita aquele que me enviou.” 17 Então os setenta voltaram com alegria, dizendo: Senhor, até os demônios estão sujeitos a nós em teu nome. 18 E disse-lhes: Vi Satanás cair do céu como um relâmpago.

O processo que transformou água em vinho foi ativado por uma instrução clara de Maria, a mãe de Jesus.

João 2:5 Sua mãe disse aos servos: “Tudo o que Ele vos disser, façam-no”.

Este é o poder sobrenatural inerente à Palavra do Senhor que está esperando para ser liberado por meio de nossa conformidade.

NOTAS ORIGINAIS DO ABC                                O verdadeiro discipulado requer um coração que é transformado por um relacionamento pessoal e íntimo com Deus. Conformidade (obediência, submissão) é uma expressão externa de uma mudança interior. Um discípulo obedece aos mandamentos de Jesus Cristo – essa obediência é motivada pelo amor a Cristo.

Mateus 4:19 Então ele lhes disse: “Vinde após mim, e eu vos farei pescadores de homens”. 20 Imediatamente deixaram as redes e o seguiram.

O céu é o lugar onde Deus exerce Sua perfeita vontade. Na terra, a vontade de Deus é oposta pela carne, pelo mundo e por Satanás. Quando um discípulo obedece à vontade de Deus, ele manifesta o reino de Deus na terra.

Um dos atos de obediência é fazer discípulos.

Mateus 28:19 “Ide, portanto, fazei discípulos de todas as nações, batizando-os em nome do Pai, e do Filho, e do Espírito Santo,

A obediência demonstra o relacionamento pessoal e íntimo do discípulo com Cristo.

João 14:15 “Se você me ama, guarde os meus mandamentos.

Exodus 23:20 “Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. 21 Beware of Him and obey His voice; do not provoke Him, for He will not pardon your transgressions; for My name is in Him

If we apply the representative principle, the leader or spiritual father of a local household or the one who provides oversight to a family of churches is the Angel or the messenger who has been commissioned by the Lord.

Fathers or leaders of local households provide the leadership that would propel the son towards the knowledge of the Son of God, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; towards a place of stability  and the rest in Christ.

This is clearly a migratory journey of every believer that has a definite destination …… It is Christ, the PREPARED PLACE.

During this migratory journey believers become the hosts of the Divine nature and the Presence of the Lord – where the spirit of God that lives within us allows us to grow in our sonship into Him who is the Head of all things (Divine Sonship)

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE WORD OF THE LORD IN DECISION MAKING

In 1 Kings 22 we find Ahab negotiating with Jehoshaphat asking him to join him to wage war against the Syrians

1 Kings 22:4 So he said to Jehoshaphat, “Will you go with me to fight at Ramoth Gilead?”Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, “I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses.” 5 Also Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, “Please inquire for the word of the LORD today.”

After listening to the prophets of Ahab – Jehoshaphat requested to inquire for the Word of the Lord.

Although Jehoshaphat insisted on seeking the Word of the Lord, he did not heed the Word of the Lord from Micaiah who prophesied against going to war. This is a timely reminder to all of us; our bilateral relationships must be established around counsel from the Word of the Lord.

Jehoshaphat insisted on hearing  the Word of the Lord regarding this war because he knew the real cost of war; the cost of precious human lives. 

There is a distinct difference between DOMINATION and DOMINION

The agenda of “domination” as demonstrated by Ahab as well as the Assyrian regime is manifested through an unrestrained, aggressive, violent, excessive and oppressive show of power, that aims for total control at all costs, including the deportation and dismantling of households and families and ultimately taking the people  of God captive

DOMINION

The pursuit of dominion is tempered and guided by righteous counsel from the Word of the Lord. It is ruling with a great sense of responsibility and a Godly conscience; functioning under Divine guidance and scrutiny

There is a tried and tested process in the secular corporate environment that is called 

ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS (RCA) This is a systematic approach that seeks to establish the root cause of a problem 

Why? To prescribe the solution for the problem 

We must FIRST AND FOREMOST establish the Word of the Lord as the perfect and true ROOT CAUSE ANALYST B (JESUS IS THE WORD)

Some leaders may see an analytical approach as “finding faults” or “negative, critical preaching”

Let us apply common sense to this matter. If a medical specialist asks us to go for a battery of tests to establish the root cause of our illness will you and I ask him “Why are you finding fault in me?”

The solution to any problem lies in voluntarily submitting ourselves to the Word of the Lord (root cause analysis) where we allow the Word of God to judge us so that we would not be judged 

I believe that whatever we would like to see in the city must first be developed and perfected in the local house – the local house is Ground Zero for any city vision.

A PRACTICAL EXAMPLE 

Let me give you a practical example – the outbreak of listeriosis – food poisoning in processed meat. Many of us remember the “polony contamination” in South Africa about 8 years ago? It was the deadliest outbreak of this type globally – 216 people died

Root cause analysis – it was discovered that contamination occurred at the point of first entry – the processing plant ( a “type” of the local church). Often times we are focussed at the Point of Sale (the symptom) rather than the original point of entry into the system (local church)

Whereas we should focus at the point of first entry into the system (local church)

Let us refer to some examples in the scriptures 

The Word of the Lord, the True and Perfect Root Cause Analyst (RCA), carries with it an inherent supernatural ability to reveal the root cause of the problem 

First example 

Judges 6 

THE SYMPTOM Barren land; stagnation; no agricultural produce or activity; a shut down of all production facilities 

“The children of Israel made for themselves the dens, the caves, and the strongholds which are in the mountains” (Judges 6:2)

ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS

Follow the sequence carefully.

1. Why was there a stagnation in productivity and the people of God hiding in fear in dens and caves?

Result of RCA ……….

The presence of the Medianites, the Amalekites and the people of the East who were sent to devour the harvest. The Amalekites prey on the weak, frail and the defenceless. 

2. Where did these enemies come from?

Result of RCA ………

The Lord Himself sent the Medianites on this assignment (Judges 6:1) The Amalekites and the people of the East were opportunistic predators (Judges 6:3)

3. Why would God do this to His own people?

Result of RCA ………

The children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD (Judges 6:1)

4. What evil did the children of Israel do?

Result of RCA …….

The people of God embraced idolatry by serving the gods associated with the worship of Baal. They did not heed the Word of the Lord that presents God as a jealous God (Exodus 20:1-7)

Solution : The Lord raised Gideon who is assigned to gather a remnant of like minded men who will accept this Root Cause Analysis; those who are spiritually and mentally ready to engage the enemy like “comrades in the struggle”, ready to fight for the emancipation of the people of God. God assures Gideon of His Presence in this battle (Judges 1:16)

The Word of the Lord is the perfect and true root cause analyst

Example 2

The city of Jericho

SYMPTOM 

Ground was barren; water is bad (contaminated)  A beautiful city externally (2 Kings 2:19) is unable to hide the symptoms of “bad water”

Word study on the word “barren”. The Hebrew word for barren is ……..

šāḵōl: A verb meaning to be bereft of (children), deprived of (children). It means to be deprived of children (Genesis 27:45; 43:14; Lev. 26:22; 1 Samuel 15:33). It also means to miscarry (Exodus 23:26; Job 21:10). The sword and war bereaved parents of their children (Deuteronomy 32:25). With reference to land, it can mean barren, unfruitful (2 Kings 2:19); with reference to vines, it refers to casting off, losing their fruit (Malachi 3:11). God Himself would bereave His people of their children as punishment for their rebellions (Jeremiah 15:7; Ezekiel 5:17; Hos. 9:12, 14)(Definition extracted from Complete Word Study Bible)

2 Kings 2:19 Then the men of the city said to Elisha, “Please notice, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad, and the ground barren.” 20 And he said, “Bring me a new bowl, and put salt in it.” So they brought it to him. 21 Then he went out to the source of the water, and cast in the salt there, and said, “Thus says the LORD: ‘I have healed this water; from it there shall be no more death or barrenness.’ ” 22 So the water remains healed to this day, according to the word of Elisha which he spoke.

Here we see Elisha as a representative/messenger of the Lord who carries the Word of the Lord. Elisha did not collect samples of the contaminated water and send it for laboratory testing. The Word of the Lord carried by Elisha quickly provided the solution

ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS

1. Why was nothing growing? What was the cause of the miscarriage?

Result of RCA The ground is barren

2. Why was the ground barren?

Result of RCA The water is contaminated. We can apply the symbolic reference of water to the Word of the Lord.

3. Why is the water contaminated?

Result of RCA The rebuilding of the city of Jericho was cursed by Joshua. The contamination in the water may have been associated with the proclamation of Joshua Joshua 6:26 Then Joshua charged them at that time, saying, “Cursed be the man before the LORD who rises up and builds this city Jericho; he shall lay its foundation with his firstborn, and with his youngest he shall set up its gates.”

4. Why did Joshua pronounce a curse over the rebuilding of the city of Jericho?

Result of RCA The city was notorious for its idolatry, its rebellion and wickedness against God. Also consider the sin of Achan. 

Solution

The curse was reversed by the Word of the Lord declared by Elisha. He requested a new bowl, revealing the Lord’s mercies over this city. His mercies are new every morning. Throw salt at the source of the waters. A demand for purity in the Word of the Lord.

THE HOUSEHOLD OF CHLOE

Let us study the report received concerning the contentions in  “household of Chloe”

1 Corinthians 1:11 For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe’s household, that there are contentions among you. 12 Now I say this, that each of you says, “I am of Paul,” or “I am of Apollos,” or “I am of Cephas,” or “I am of Christ.” 13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?

The problem of sectarianism was revealed in the household of Chloe. It is reasonable to use Chloe’s household as a “type” of the local church. There was contention in this local church because of sectarianism. This was in conflict with Paul’s ideal of the local church being an organic model being host to multiple voices. This was Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians (1 Corinthians 1). The spirit of “dissent” is a characteristic feature of any legitimate reformation movement. Dissent for a righteous cause is not rebellion against the Lord. Jesus dissented. Paul dissented. We will observe that the contentions in the household of Chloe produced a change in Paul’s perspective on this matter.

For example those believers that were mentored by Paul contended with believers who were of Christ. 

Christ should not be regarded as  a “franchise opportunity” for an exclusive company of believers. Disciples of Paul, Cephas and Apollos need to know that Christ died for them as well as their mentors

We cannot disregard the impact and influence of the cosmopolitan nature of the city of Corinth with all its diverse forms of worship of multiple deities on the culture of the true church of the Lord.

We can easily surrender to the prevailing culture of cities like Corinth by talking about the ” deep darkness that is covering the people” or we can choose to present the culture of God that would reveal the Light of the World, Christ Himself shining through His church.

We see in Chapter 4, Paul addresses the dangers of being “puffed up” one against the other, recognising the fact the grace comes from the Lord Himself, and that it is imparted through His disciples for the benefit of the church. He also infers that we acknowledge the carriers of grace

1 Corinthians 4:6 Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up on behalf of one against the other. 7 For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

There is possibly the most significant migration in Paul’s understanding regarding leadership in the local church

1 Corinthians 4:15 For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel

Paul’s recognises the importance of fathers in administrating the flow of grace. He is now experiencing, possibly, the pain of rejection when he declares “for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel”

One of the deities worshipped in Corinth was Aphrodite, the goddess of love.

The worship of this deity called for religious prostitution and immoral sexual acts.

In the local church, we may have “Corinthian” believers, worshipping Aphrodite alongside those who are worshipping the Lord.

If we discern the symbolism, the entrance of multiple voices into the “local church” can be likened to the worship of Aphrodite, where the womb of the church receives seed from multiple sources. The Word of the Lord must be declared boldly and courageously to all. There must be a call to reform. Failure to do so will produce “wild grapes”

Os pais ou líderes das famílias locais fornecem a liderança que impulsionaria o filho para o conhecimento do Filho de Deus, à medida da estatura da plenitude de Cristo; para um lugar de estabilidade e descanso em Cristo.

Esta é claramente uma jornada migratória de todo crente que tem um destino definido …… É Cristo, o LUGAR PREPARADO.

Durante esta jornada migratória, os crentes se tornam os anfitriões da natureza Divina e da Presença do Senhor – onde o espírito de Deus que vive dentro de nós nos permite crescer em nossa filiação Àquele que é a Cabeça de todas as coisas (Filiação Divina)

A IMPORTÂNCIA DA PALAVRA DO SENHOR NA TOMADA DE DECISÕES

 Em 1 Reis 22, encontramos Acabe negociando com Josafá pedindo-lhe que se juntasse a ele para travar uma guerra contra os sírios.

1 Reis 22:4 Então disse a Josafá: Queres ir comigo pelejar em Ramote-Gileade? Josafá disse ao rei de Israel: “Eu sou como tu, meu povo como teu povo, meus cavalos como teus cavalos”. 5 Então Josafá disse ao rei de Israel: “Peço-lhe que pergunte hoje a palavra do Senhor”.

Depois de ouvir os profetas de Acabe, Josafá pediu para consultar a Palavra do Senhor.

Embora Josafá insistisse em buscar a Palavra do Senhor, ele não deu ouvidos à Palavra do Senhor de Micaías, que profetizou contra ir para a guerra. Este é um lembrete oportuno para todos nós; nossas relações bilaterais devem ser estabelecidas em torno do conselho da Palavra do Senhor.

Josafá insistiu em ouvir a Palavra do Senhor sobre essa guerra porque sabia o custo real da guerra; o custo de preciosas vidas humanas.

Há uma diferença distinta entre DOMINAÇÃO e DOMÍNIO

A agenda de “dominação”, conforme demonstrada por Acabe, bem como pelo regime assírio, se manifesta por meio de uma demonstração de poder desenfreada, agressiva, violenta, excessiva e opressiva, que visa o controle total a todo custo, incluindo a deportação e desmantelamento de famílias e famílias e, finalmente, levando o povo de Deus cativo

DOMÍNIO

Existe um processo experimentado e testado no ambiente corporativo secular que é chamado de ……………

ANÁLISE DE CAUSA RAIZ (ACR)  Esta é uma abordagem sistemática que busca estabelecer a causa raiz de um problema.

Por quê? Para prescrever a solução para o problema.

Devemos ANTES DE MAIS NADA estabelecer a Palavra do Senhor como o perfeito e verdadeiro ANALISTA DE CAUSA RAIZ (JESUS É A PALAVRA)

Alguns líderes podem ver uma abordagem analítica como “encontrar falhas” ou “pregação negativa e crítica”. Vamos aplicar o senso comum a este assunto. Se um médico especialista nos pedir para fazer uma bateria de testes para estabelecer a causa raiz de nossa doença, você e eu perguntaremos a ele: “Por que você está encontrando falhas em mim?”

A solução para qualquer problema está em nos submetermos voluntariamente à Palavra do Senhor (análise da causa raiz), onde permitimos que a Palavra de Deus nos julgue para que não sejamos julgados.

Acredito que tudo o que gostaríamos de ver na cidade deve primeiro ser desenvolvido e aperfeiçoado na casa local – a casa local é o Marco Zero para qualquer visão da cidade.

UM EXEMPLO PRÁTICO

Permitam-me que vos dê um exemplo prático – o surto de listeriose – intoxicação alimentar em carne processada. Muitos de nós nos lembramos da “contaminação polônica” na África do Sul há cerca de 8 anos? Foi o surto mais mortal desse tipo em todo o mundo – 216 pessoas morreram.

Análise da causa raiz – descobriu-se que a contaminação ocorreu no ponto de primeira entrada – a planta de processamento (um “tipo” da igreja local). Muitas vezes estamos focados no Ponto de Venda (o sintoma) e não no ponto de entrada original no sistema (igreja local)

Considerando que devemos nos concentrar no ponto de primeira entrada no sistema (igreja local)

Vamos nos referir a alguns exemplos nas escrituras

A Palavra do Senhor, o Verdadeiro e Perfeito Analista de Causa Raiz (ACR), carrega consigo uma capacidade sobrenatural inerente de revelar a causa raiz do problema

Primeiro exemplo

Juízes 6

O SINTOMA Terra estéril; estagnação; nenhum produto ou atividade agrícola; um fechamento de todas as instalações de produção.

“Os filhos de Israel fizeram para si as covas, as cavernas e as fortalezas que estão nos montes” (Juízes 6:2)

ANÁLISE DE CAUSA RAIZ

Siga a sequência cuidadosamente.

O próprio Senhor enviou os midianitas nesta tarefa (Juízes 6:1) Os amalequitas e o povo do Oriente eram predadores oportunistas (Juízes 6:3)

O povo de Deus abraçou a idolatria servindo aos deuses associados à adoração de Baal. Eles não deram ouvidos à Palavra do Senhor que apresenta Deus como um Deus zeloso (Êxodo 20:1-7)

Solução: O Senhor levantou Gideão, que é designado para reunir um remanescente de homens de mentalidade semelhante que aceitarão esta Análise da Causa Raiz; aqueles que estão espiritual e mentalmente prontos para enfrentar o inimigo como “companheiros de luta”, prontos para lutar pela emancipação do povo de Deus. Deus garante a Gideão Sua Presença nesta batalha (Juízes 1:16)

A Palavra do Senhor é o analista de causa raiz perfeito e verdadeiro

 

Segundo exemplo

A cidade de Jericó

O SINTOMA O terreno era estéril; A água é ruim (contaminada) Uma bela cidade externamente (2 Reis 2:19) é incapaz de esconder os sintomas da “água ruim”

Estudo de palavras sobre a palavra “estéril”. A palavra hebraica para estéril é ……..

šāḵōl: Um verbo que significa ser desprovido de (crianças), privado de (crianças). Significa ser privado de filhos (Gênesis 27:45; 43:14; Levítico 26:22; 1 Samuel 15:33). Também significa abortar (Êxodo 23:26; Jó 21:10). A espada e a guerra enlutaram os pais de seus filhos (Deuteronômio 32:25). Com referência à terra, pode significar estéril, infrutífera (2 Reis 2:19); com referência às videiras, refere-se a descartar, perder seus frutos (Malaquias 3:11). O próprio Deus privaria Seu povo de seus filhos como punição por suas rebeliões (Jeremias 15:7; Ezequiel 5:17; Oséias 9:12, 14)                            (Definição extraída da Bíblia de Estudo da Palavra Completa)

 2 Reis 2:19 Então os homens da cidade disseram a Eliseu: “Observe, por favor, que a situação desta cidade é agradável, como meu senhor vê; mas a água é ruim e o solo estéril. 20 E ele disse: “Traga-me uma tigela nova e coloque sal nela”. Então eles trouxeram para ele. 21 Então saiu à fonte da água, e lançou ali o sal, e disse: Assim diz o SENHOR: Eu curei esta água; dela não haverá mais morte nem esterilidade.’ ” 22 Assim, a água permanece curada até o dia de hoje, conforme a palavra de Eliseu, que ele falou.

Aqui vemos Eliseu como um representante/mensageiro do Senhor que carrega a Palavra do Senhor. Eliseu não coletou amostras da água contaminada e as enviou para testes laboratoriais. A Palavra do Senhor levada por Eliseu rapidamente forneceu a solução

ANÁLISE DE CAUSA RAIZ

1. Por que nada estava crescendo? Qual foi a causa do aborto espontâneo?

A água está contaminada. Podemos aplicar a referência simbólica da água à Palavra do Senhor.

A reconstrução da cidade de Jericó foi amaldiçoada por Josué. A contaminação na água pode ter sido associada à proclamação de Josué Josué 6:26 Então Josué os ordenou naquele tempo, dizendo: “Maldito seja o homem diante do Senhor que se levantar e edificar esta cidade de Jericó; ele lançará seus alicerces com seu primogênito, e com seu filho mais novo ele estabelecerá seus portões.

4. Por que proferiu Josué uma maldição sobre a reconstrução da cidade de Jericó?

A cidade era notória por sua idolatria, sua rebelião e maldade contra Deus. Considere também o pecado de Acã.

Solução: A maldição foi revertida pela Palavra do Senhor declarada por Eliseu. Ele pediu uma nova tigela, revelando as misericórdias do Senhor sobre esta cidade. Suas misericórdias são novas a cada manhã. Jogue sal na fonte das águas. Uma exigência de pureza na Palavra do Senhor.

 

A CASA DE CLOÉ

 Vamos estudar o relatório recebido sobre as contendas na “casa de Cloé”

1 Coríntios 1:11 Pois a respeito de vós, meus irmãos, me foi declarado pelos da família de Cloé que há contendas entre vós. 12 Digo-me isto, que cada um de vós diz: Eu sou de Paulo, ou de Apolo, ou de Cefas, ou de Cristo. 13 Cristo está dividido? Paulo foi crucificado por você? Ou fostes batizados em nome de Paulo?

O problema do sectarismo foi revelado na casa de Cloé. É razoável usar a casa de Cloé como um “tipo” da igreja local. Houve contenda nesta igreja local por causa do sectarismo. Isso estava em conflito com o ideal de Paulo de que a igreja local era um modelo orgânico sendo anfitrião de múltiplas vozes. Esta foi a primeira carta de Paulo aos Coríntios (1 Coríntios 1). O espírito de “dissidência” é um traço característico de qualquer movimento de reforma legítimo. Observaremos que as contendas na casa de Cloé produziram uma mudança na perspectiva de Paulo sobre esse assunto.

Por exemplo, os crentes que foram orientados por Paulo lutaram com os crentes que eram de Cristo.

Cristo não deve ser considerado como uma “oportunidade de franquia” para um grupo exclusivo de crentes. Os discípulos de Paulo, Cefas e Apolo precisam saber que Cristo morreu por eles, assim como por seus mentores

Não podemos ignorar o impacto e a influência da natureza cosmopolita da cidade de Corinto, com todas as suas diversas formas de culto a múltiplas divindades, sobre a cultura da verdadeira igreja do Senhor.

Podemos facilmente nos render à cultura predominante de cidades como Corinto falando sobre as “trevas profundas que cobrem o povo” ou podemos escolher apresentar a cultura de Deus que revelaria a Luz do Mundo, o próprio Cristo brilhando através de Sua igreja.

Vemos no capítulo 4, Paulo aborda os perigos de ser “ensoberbecido” um contra o outro, reconhecendo o fato de que a graça vem do próprio Senhor e que é transmitida por meio de Seus discípulos para o benefício da igreja. Ele também infere que reconhecemos os portadores da graça

1 Coríntios 4:6-7 Ora, irmãos, estas coisas eu tratei figurativamente para mim e para Apolo por amor de vós, para que aprendais em nós a não pensar além do que está escrito, para que nenhum de vós se ensoberbeça por um contra o outro. 7 Pois quem o faz diferir dos outros? E o que você tem que não recebeu? Agora, se você realmente o recebeu, por que se gaba como se não o tivesse recebido?

Há, possivelmente, a migração mais significativa no entendimento de Paulo sobre a liderança na igreja local

1 Coríntios 4:15 Porque, ainda que tenhais dez mil instrutores em Cristo, não tendes muitos pais; porque em Cristo Jesus vos gerei pelo evangelho

Paulo reconhece a importância dos pais na administração do fluxo da graça. Ele agora está experimentando, possivelmente, a dor da rejeição quando declara “porque em Cristo Jesus eu vos gerei pelo evangelho”

Uma das divindades adoradas em Corinto era Afrodite, a deusa grega do amor.

A adoração dessa divindade exigia prostituição religiosa e atos sexuais imorais.

Na igreja local, podemos ter crentes “coríntos”, adorando Afrodite ao lado daqueles que estão adorando o Senhor.

Se discernirmos o simbolismo, a entrada de múltiplas vozes na “igreja local” pode ser comparada à adoração de Afrodite, onde o ventre da igreja recebe sementes de várias fontes. A Palavra do Senhor deve ser declarada com ousadia e coragem a todos. Deve haver um apelo à reforma. Não fazer isso produzirá “uvas bravas”
