Jesus was considered to be extremely enigmatic during His time of ministry on the earth. Disciples closest to him struggled to understand the true meaning of His words.
This is the reason leaders today, in a vibrant collaboration with the Holy Spirit, strive to decode the mysteries that are hidden in the Word of the Lord, that the entrance of His Word may bring light and give understanding to the simple.
While He walked on the earth, people had varying perceptions on who Jesus really was
Everything depended on the Word that He would release to any audience; that Word will depend on any set of circumstances at any given point in time to any audience. The spirit of His message caused some to perceive that He was Elijah, at other times to others John the Baptist, Jeremiah or one of the prophets. The perception of the hearer was influenced by the spirit that undergirded His message.
Jesus tested public perception against the perception of those who walked closely with Him …….
“Who do men say that I am“
One of the reasons to collect data in a public survey is to monitor progress in a particular strategy or vision
The Eternal Father had to divinely disclose the identity of His Son to Peter (independent of human perception.
Matthew 16:16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
Every time that we are exposed to His Word, the Spirit that drives the message will cause us to encounter a different dimension of His multifaceted nature. But understand this, it is naive to believe that the dimension of His nature that we are exposed to, represents the totality of ALL THAT CHRIST IS.
The Father is constantly revealing the multifaceted nature of His Son, who is the embodiment of the fullness of grace and truth, to His people
We have been considering recently Peter’s ministry to the household of Cornelius and the contention and disputes that arose in Jerusalem when they heard that the Gentiles received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Let us examine how this contention and controversy was handled.
Acts 11:4 But Peter explained it to them in order from the beginning, saying ……..
Although it was Peter who received the Divine revelation and the proceeding Word of the Lord, Peter recognised the importance to thoroughly explain what he saw to the others apostles and rulers in Jerusalem. This was TOP PRIORITY for him because he wanted to still the contentions, disputes and arguments that arose amongst the brethren in Jerusalem.
Resistance and contention from Jerusalem demands that the visionary (Peter) engage all leaders in a detailed, intentional, transparent and thorough explanation of a “proceeding Word” that is free from any personal bias or guile.
The desired corporate outcome of this form of communication with the leaders and apostles is that the fruit of a thorough explanation would be corporate understanding which would silence opposing voices as well as cause everyone to glorify the Lord
Some of the meanings of the word “explain” include :
to expound, interpret, unriddle to make plain or clear to make known in great detail to dispel doubts to account for to render understandable or intelligible
Acts 11:4 But Peter began [at the beginning] and explained [the events] to them step by step, saying,
Peter had to explain from the THE BEGINNING. His explanation was a deliberate, structured, transparent and thorough presentation that left nothing out. Peter did not assume the intelligence of his audience. Peter realised that the intensity and the hostility of the contentions and disputes demanded this level of communication
Acts 11:15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning. 16 Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’
Peter had to present his experience IN ORDER The amplified version says “step by step”. Peter referred them to the Word of the Lord concerning the Gentiles’ baptism in the Holy Spirit. Although this was a manifestation of the proceeding Word, it should not have come as a total surprise to the “watchers for the manifestation of Old Testament prophecy”
Isaiah 60:3 The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.
Joel 2:28 “And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.
This form of communication has ONE OUTCOME AND OBJECTIVE …. that the contentions and disputes may be silenced because their eyes have been opened; they now understand and everyone is able to glorify God
Acts 11:18 When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life.”
Peter explained thoroughly and in great detail so that the eyes of those who have not seen the vision that Peter received, may be opened by the entrance of His Word
Detailed, structured, transparent and thorough explanation of the Word of the Lord is the most consistent method to open the eyes of a spirit filled believer.
The two disciples walking on the road to Emmaus had a conversation amongst themselves and reasoned together concerning the recent events in Jerusalem
Luke 24:15 So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them. 16 But their eyes were restrained, so that they did not know Him.
Their conversation and reasoning amongst themselves did not get their eyes open, nor could they discern the One walking alongside them. It is possible to walk the entire journey aimlessly and discouraged, with restrained sight, with the One we worship. Sight and perception are restored after the expounding (thorough explanation) of scriptures.
Luke 24:25 Then He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?” 27 And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.
Jesus explained in great detail the prophetic utterances relating to Jesus, His crucifixion and His resurrection.
Luke 24:30 Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight. 32 And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?” 33 So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together
After Jesus had explained (expounded) thoroughly in great detail, the eyes of the two disciples were opened and, in that VERY HOUR, they arose and returned to Jerusalem, the location of the Temple and they found the eleven others.
We must recover the grace to expound and thoroughly explain the scriptures for us to witness a corporate understanding in Jerusalem

Jesus foi considerado extremamente enigmático durante Seu tempo de ministério na terra. Os discípulos mais próximos a ele lutaram para entender o verdadeiro significado de Suas palavras.
Esta é a razão pela qual os líderes de hoje, em uma colaboração vibrante com o Espírito Santo, se esforçam para decodificar os mistérios que estão ocultos na Palavra do Senhor, para que a entrada de Sua Palavra possa trazer luz e dar entendimento aos simples.
Enquanto Ele andava na terra, as pessoas tinham percepções variadas sobre quem Jesus realmente era
Tudo dependia da Palavra que Ele liberaria para qualquer audiência; essa Palavra dependerá de qualquer conjunto de circunstâncias em qualquer ponto no tempo para qualquer público. O espírito de Sua mensagem fez com que alguns percebessem que Ele era Elias, outras vezes para outros João Batista, Jeremias ou um dos profetas. A percepção do ouvinte foi influenciada pelo espírito que sustentou Sua mensagem.
Jesus testou a percepção pública contra a percepção daqueles que andavam perto Dele …….
“Quem dizem os homens que eu sou”
Uma das razões para coletar dados em uma pesquisa pública é monitorar o progresso em uma estratégia ou visão específica
O Pai Eterno teve que revelar divinamente a identidade de Seu Filho a Pedro (independentemente da percepção humana)
Mateus 16:16-17 Simão Pedro respondeu: “Tu és o Cristo, o Filho do Deus vivo”. Respondeu-lhe Jesus: Bem-aventurado és tu, Simão Barjonas, porque não te foi revelado por carne e sangue, mas por meu Pai, que está nos céus. E também te digo que tu és Pedro, e sobre esta pedra edificarei a minha igreja, e as portas do inferno não prevalecerão contra ela.
Toda vez que somos expostos à Sua Palavra, o Espírito que conduz a mensagem nos fará encontrar uma dimensão diferente de Sua natureza multifacetada. Mas entenda isso, é ingênuo acreditar que a dimensão de Sua natureza a que estamos expostos, representa a totalidade de TUDO O QUE CRISTO É.
O Pai está constantemente revelando a natureza multifacetada de Seu Filho, que é a personificação da plenitude da graça e da verdade, para o Seu povo
Recentemente, temos considerado o ministério de Pedro à casa de Cornélio e as contendas e disputas que surgiram em Jerusalém quando ouviram que os gentios receberam o batismo do Espírito Santo. Examinemos como essa contenda e controvérsia foram tratadas.
Atos 11:4 Mas Pedro explicou-lhes isso em ordem desde o princípio, dizendo……..
Embora tenha sido Pedro quem recebeu a revelação divina e a Palavra do Senhor, Pedro reconheceu a importância de explicar completamente o que viu aos outros apóstolos e governantes em Jerusalém. Esta era a PRIORIDADE MÁXIMA para ele, porque ele queria acalmar as contendas, disputas e discussões que surgiram entre os irmãos em Jerusalém.
A resistência e a contenda de Jerusalém exigem que o visionário (Pedro) envolva todos os líderes em uma explicação detalhada, intencional, transparente e completa de uma “Palavra procedente” que esteja livre de qualquer preconceito ou astúcia pessoal.
O resultado corporativo desejado dessa forma de comunicação com os líderes e apóstolos é que o fruto de uma explicação completa seja o entendimento corporativo que silenciaria as vozes opostas, bem como faria com que todos glorificassem o Senhor
Alguns dos significados da palavra “explicar” incluem:
expor, interpretar, desvendar, tornar claro ou claro, dar a conhecer em grande detalhe, dissipar dúvidas, dar conta, tornar compreensível ou inteligível
Atos 11:4 Mas Pedro começou [no princípio] e explicou-lhes passo a passo, dizendo:
Pedro teve que explicar desde o PRINCÍPIO. Sua explicação foi uma apresentação deliberada, estruturada, transparente e completa que não deixou nada de fora. Peter não assumiu a inteligência de seu público. Peter percebeu que a intensidade e a hostilidade das contendas e disputas exigiam esse nível de comunicação
Atos 11:15-16 E, começando eu a falar, desceu sobre eles o Espírito Santo, como sobre nós no princípio. Então me lembrei da palavra do Senhor, como ele disse: João, na verdade, batizou com água, mas vós sereis batizados com o Espírito Santo.
Pedro teve que apresentar sua experiência EM ORDEM A versão ampliada diz “passo a passo”. Pedro os encaminhou à Palavra do Senhor sobre o batismo dos gentios no Espírito Santo. Embora esta fosse uma manifestação da Palavra procedente, não deveria ter sido uma surpresa total para os “vigilantes da manifestação da profecia do Antigo Testamento”
Isaías 60:3 Os gentios virão à tua luz, e os reis ao resplendor do teu alvorecer.
Joel 2:28 “E acontecerá depois que derramarei o meu Espírito sobre toda a carne; Vossos filhos e vossas filhas profetizarão, vossos velhos terão sonhos, vossos jovens terão visões.
Esta forma de comunicação tem UM RESULTADO E OBJETIVO …. que as contendas e disputas podem ser silenciadas porque seus olhos foram abertos; eles agora entendem e todos são capazes de glorificar a Deus
Atos 11:18 Quando ouviram essas coisas, ficaram em silêncio; e glorificaram a Deus, dizendo: “Então Deus também concedeu aos gentios o arrependimento para a vida”.
Pedro explicou minuciosamente e em grande detalhe para que os olhos daqueles que não tiveram a visão que Pedro recebeu, possam ser abertos pela entrada de Sua Palavra
A explicação detalhada, estruturada, transparente e completa da Palavra do Senhor é o método mais consistente para abrir os olhos de um crente cheio do espírito.
Os dois discípulos que caminhavam pela estrada de Emaús conversaram entre si e raciocinaram juntos sobre os recentes acontecimentos em Jerusalém
Lucas 24:15-16 E sucedeu que, enquanto conversavam e arrazoavam, o próprio Jesus se aproximou e foi com eles. Mas os seus olhos estavam impedidos, de modo que não o conheciam.
Sua conversa e raciocínio entre si não lhes abriram os olhos, nem puderam discernir Aquele que caminhava ao lado deles. É possível percorrer toda a jornada sem rumo e desanimado, com a visão restrita, com Aquele que adoramos. A visão e a percepção são restauradas após a exposição (explicação completa) das escrituras.
Lucas 24:25-17 Então ele lhes disse: “Ó insensatos, e tardios de coração para crer em tudo o que os profetas disseram! Não convinha o Cristo ter padecido estas coisas e entrar na sua glória? E, começando por Moisés e por todos os profetas, explicou-lhes o que dele se achava em todas as Escrituras.
Jesus explicou detalhadamente as declarações proféticas relacionadas a Jesus, Sua crucificação e Sua ressurreição.
Lucas 24:30-33 E aconteceu que, estando ele assentado à mesa com eles, tomou o pão, abençoou-o, partiu-o e deu-lhes. Então seus olhos se abriram e eles o reconheceram; e Ele desapareceu da vista deles. E disseram uns aos outros: Não ardia em nós o nosso coração, quando nos falava pelo caminho, e nos abria as Escrituras? Levantaram-se, pois, naquela mesma hora, e voltaram para Jerusalém, e encontraram reunidos os onze e os que com eles estavam.
Depois que Jesus explicou (expôs) minuciosamente em grande detalhe, os olhos dos dois discípulos foram abertos e, naquela MESMA HORA, eles se levantaram e voltaram para Jerusalém, o local do Templo e encontraram os outros onze.
Devemos recuperar a graça de expor e explicar completamente as escrituras para testemunharmos um entendimento corporativo em Jerusalém
