Samaria was the capital city of the Northern Kingdom of Israel. The famine was the judgement declared by a God that had suffered long with the atrocities, abominations and blatant spiritual violations of His people.

The forces of the enemy had besieged the city, the economy was in a state of extreme distress and ruin.

The Northern Kingdom constituted the ten tribes that seceded from the monarchy of David that was ruled by Rehoboam who rejected the counsel of wise elders in respect of the mandatory labour laws, taxation and tributes; he chose to implement the counsel of his young men who suggested that Rehoboam implements harsher laws.

In spite of the judgements of God against His people, their deliverance arrived in a most unusual form.

Prophetic grace declares the supernatural deliverance of the city that will literally happen overnight. The mercies of the Lord are new every morning.

2 Kings 7:1 Then Elisha said, “Hear the word of the LORD. Thus says the LORD: Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.’ ”

This is impossible naturally, according to agricultural timelines concerning sowing and reaping. God uses the common grace that He has invested in the four lepers who are positioned outside the city gate to practically manifest the proceeding Word of the Lord declared by Elisha.

2 Kings 7:3 (a) 3 Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate

We know that God does not have the same limitations and constraints that man has regarding access and deployment of various types of carriers of grace to deliver individuals, people and cities. Very simply, God can use any vessel in any shape, form or condition as part of His logistical chain for grace delivery.

The four lepers represent those who have been disconnected from the affairs of the city. They represent a despised and disenfranchised community. If the famine was severe within the city, the situation was life threatening outside the gates. God uses the common grace of these lepers to activate His plan of deliverance to access provision that was declared by the Word of the Lord released by Elisha.

COMMON GRACE ACTIVATED

2 Kings 7:3-4 It happened that four lepers were sitting just outside the city gate. They said to one another, “What are we doing sitting here at death’s door? If we enter the famine-struck city we’ll die; if we stay here we’ll die. So let’s take our chances in the camp of Aram and throw ourselves on their mercy. If they receive us we’ll live, if they kill us we’ll die. We’ve got nothing to lose.” (Message Bible)

In spite of their condition, these four lepers were able to think clearly and analyse their options. Clearly, the hand of God was upon them to bring their courage to a victorious conclusion that God intended to benefit the whole city.

2 Kings 7:6 For the Lord had caused the army of the Syrians to hear the noise of chariots and the noise of horses—the noise of a great army; so they said to one another, “Look, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians to attack us!”

The lepers were able to discern that the “day of good news”. This was not the time to be silent. They realised their moral responsibility to inform the king; they realised they were not doing that which is right by being silent (manifestation of righteousness)

2 Kings 7:9 Then they said to one another, “We are not doing right. This day is a day of good news, and we remain silent. If we wait until morning light, some punishment will come upon us. Now therefore, come, let us go and tell the king’s household.”

Last week in Part 6 we examined the features of accurate partnerships. This week we discover how God can use the desperation of carriers of common grace to deliver an entire city from famine in collaboration with the Word of the Lord released by Elisha. Although the people of the city provoked the wrath and judgements of the Lord, God demonstrated His enduring mercies and grace by orchestrating their deliverance.

To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

GRAÇA ILIMITADA – Parte 7 Implantação da Graça Comum para combater a fome na cidade.

Samaria era a capital do Reino do Norte de Israel. A fome era o julgamento declarado por um Deus que havia sofrido por muito tempo com as atrocidades, abominações e violações espirituais flagrantes de Seu povo.

As forças do inimigo haviam sitiado a cidade, a economia estava em um estado de extrema aflição e ruína.

O Reino do Norte constituía as dez tribos que se separavam da monarquia de Davi que era governada por Roboão, que rejeitava o conselho dos sábios anciãos em relação às leis trabalhistas obrigatórias, impostos e tributos; ele escolheu implementar o conselho de seus rapazes que sugeriram que Roboão implementasse leis mais duras.

Apesar dos julgamentos de Deus contra Seu povo, sua libertação chegou de uma forma muito incomum.

A graça profética declara a libertação sobrenatural da cidade que literalmente acontecerá da noite para o dia. As misericórdias do Senhor se renovam a cada manhã.

2 Reis 7:1 ¹ Eliseu respondeu: “Ouçam a palavra do Senhor! Assim diz o Senhor: Amanhã, por volta desta hora, na porta de Samaria, tanto uma medida de farinha como duas medidas de cevada serão vendidas por uma peça de prata”.

Isso é impossível naturalmente, de acordo com os cronogramas agrícolas relativos à semeadura e colheita. Deus usa a graça comum que Ele investiu nos quatro leprosos que estão posicionados fora do portão da cidade para praticamente manifestar a Palavra do Senhor declarada por Eliseu.

Sabemos que Deus não tem as mesmas limitações e constrangimentos que o homem tem em relação ao acesso e implantação de vários tipos de portadores de graça para libertar indivíduos, pessoas e cidades. Muito simplesmente, Deus pode usar qualquer vaso em qualquer forma, forma ou condição como parte de Sua cadeia logística para a entrega da graça.

Os quatro leprosos representam aqueles que foram desligados dos assuntos da cidade. Eles representam uma comunidade desprezada e sem direitos. Se a fome era grave dentro da cidade, a situação era de risco de vida fora dos portões. Deus usa a graça comum desses leprosos para ativar Seu plano de libertação para acessar a provisão que foi declarada pela Palavra do Senhor divulgada por Eliseu.

GRAÇA COMUM ATIVADA

2 Reis 7:3-4 ³ Havia quatro leprosos junto à porta da cidade. Eles disseram uns aos outros: “Por que ficar aqui esperando a morte? Se resolvermos entrar na cidade, morreremos de fome, mas se ficarmos aqui, também morreremos. Vamos, pois, ao acampamento dos arameus para nos render. Se eles nos pouparem, viveremos; se nos matarem, morreremos”.

Apesar de sua condição, esses quatro leprosos foram capazes de pensar com clareza e analisar suas opções. Claramente, a mão de Deus estava sobre eles para levar sua coragem a uma conclusão vitoriosa de que Deus pretendia beneficiar toda a cidade.

2 Reis 7:6 pois o Senhor tinha feito os arameus ouvirem o ruído de um grande exército com cavalos e carros de guerra, de modo que disseram uns aos outros: “Ouçam, o rei de Israel contratou os reis dos hititas e dos egípcios para nos atacar! “

Os leprosos foram capazes de discernir que o “dia das boas novas”. Não era hora de ficar calado. Eles perceberam sua responsabilidade moral de informar o rei; Eles perceberam que não estavam fazendo o que é certo ao se calarem (manifestação de justiça)

2 Reis 7:9 ⁹ Então disseram uns aos outros: “Não estamos agindo certo. Este é um dia de boas notícias, e não podemos ficar calados. Se esperarmos até o amanhecer, seremos castigados. Vamos imediatamente contar tudo no palácio do rei”.

Na semana passada, na Parte 6, examinamos as características das parcerias precisas. Esta semana descobrimos como Deus pode usar o desespero dos portadores da graça comum para livrar uma cidade inteira da fome em colaboração com a Palavra do Senhor divulgada por Eliseu. Embora o povo da cidade tenha provocado an ira e os julgamentos do Senhor, Deus demonstrou Suas misericórdias e graça duradouras orquestrando sua libertação.

A Ele seja a glória e o domínio para todo o sempre. Amém.
